OKTOBERFEST 2ND ANNUAL
Husband and I dressed in theme for the occasion. We purchased the 20.00 ticket that gave you a huge beer stein and entrance. Went to the bar to get our big mug filled and we're told we could only fill it with the brau brau brau beer, husband wasn't too happy about that and neither was I since we both like a darker beer. Later we saw other people who had a darker beer in their mug, we were told it was a different bartender. Hello we need some consistency here, and also let your customers fill their mugs with what ever beer they choose, we just paid 20.00.
We ventured out to the beer tent and the tables were decorated in the blue white oktoberfest colors and there was a band playing. However it was too cold for us on this chilly October day.
Food truck was awesome called Prchal's and we had the dumplings with saurkraut and gravy on top....delicious and reasonably priced at 6.00.
We had a Lady A's soft pretzel....delicious. We have had this pretzel before on another visit, this time around they served it with a better mustard, kind of a stone ground mustard.(i had mustard in my purse in case they served it with that crappy plain yellow mustard, like before) Thank you for the upgrade! We noticed the pricing was higher for Oktoberfest but we still bought one.
We stayed indoors and sat at a table (like they do in germany) with someone you don't know and all share a table. It was great to see so many people dressed up in the lederhosen and dirndyl that we didn't feel out of place at all. A band was starting to set up inside before we left. My only complaint would be peoples children running around and going in and outside all the time, everytime they opened the door they didn't close it leaving blast of cold air coming in.
Please make this annual OKTOBERFEST an ADULT ONLY event, familys have everyday and every weekend here as a family friendly place. We are only asking for this one day to be kid free. PROST!
