The Best Pizza Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"The premises are relatively unglamorous, but many a West Islander swears by this half-century-old Pointe-Claire stalwart. It’s thoroughly Montreal-style, with family-pleasing pizzas coming heavily loaded with toppings, including its famous deluxe — all-dressed plus bacon and onions." - Joel Balsam

Barbara Pinseria and Cocktail Bar Opening for Roman Pizza in North Beach | Eater SF

"Next door, Barbara Express will sell Roman pizza al taglio — square slices cut to order with specialty pizza scissors — served at the counter for cafe-style seating or to go, with delivery reportedly in the works. The square al taglio uses the same soy-, rice-, and wheat-flour, high-hydration, long-fermentation dough as the pinsa, making the crust sturdy enough to hold lots of toppings and travel well. A notable operational twist: customers will pay for pizza by the ounce rather than by the slice, a decision Covucci admits he agonized over and wonders whether San Franciscans are ready to adopt." - Caleb Pershan

I tried Gigi yesterday for dinner, and overall it was really good. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with great pasta dishes all around. The prices felt just a bit high for the portion sizes, but still reasonable considering the quality and atmosphere. The service was great — attentive and friendly — and the whole experience felt very relaxed. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts: dim-lit, cozy, and stylish, with a nice bar area that adds to the vibe. If you’re looking for a casual yet classy spot to enjoy some excellent pasta in Boston, Gigi is definitely worth checking out.

From start to finish, the meal was exceptional. The seafood was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and full of natural sweetness. The lobster, shrimp, and mussels were all expertly prepared, with each bite tasting like it came straight from the ocean. The pasta dishes were equally impressive. The alla vodka sauce was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with just the right touch of tang, coating each piece of pasta beautifully. The fresh herbs and generous shaving of Parmesan elevated the flavors even more. Service was just as flawless as the food. Our waiter, Acresio, was attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead—keeping our glasses full and making sure we had everything we needed without ever having to ask. Presentation was spot-on, portions were generous without being overwhelming, and every bite left me wanting more. This is the kind of meal that reminds you how good Italian and seafood can be when made with care, quality ingredients, and great service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fresh seafood and authentic, flavorful pasta dishes.

Had a really pleasant experience at Gigi the other night. Leo was delightful as our service, and the food was pretty good! We each had a spritz along with sharing the Burrata and the panzanella. There burrata could have been a bit of a fresher ball, but the tomato jam was delicious. The panzanella was light and delicious. We then split the branzino and the scallop pasta. The branzino was cooked excellently but the sauce was kind of boring. The pasta was also cooked well, but the sauce didn’t seem to coat nor marry the pasta very well. We ended with a delicious tiramisu. Overall a nice time, and I’d recommend it.

Restaurant was incredible. Great vibes, our waiter Matthew was so friendly and awesome. Everything we chose was delicious. Perfect portions, high quality food.

Google
If I could give this place six stars, I would—one extra just for the staff alone. I came in hungry and left emotionally attached to my bartender. The food was outrageously good… like “did someone’s Italian grandmother cast a spell on this pasta?” good. The bar team (mike and Isaac)? Absolute legends. They mix drinks with the confidence of people who know they’re about to change your life. One suggested a cocktail I’d never heard of, and honestly, I’m considering naming my firstborn after it. They were hilarious, attentive, and took care of me like I was their first born. The wait staff (Leo and Matthew) are phenomenal as well! All the food that they recommended fit exactly what I was craving in the moment and they somehow managed to refill my drink before I even realized it was empty (a true life skill). If you like incredible food, top-tier vibes, and staff who could easily star in their own sitcom, get yourself here immediately. 🍝🍸

Google
Love coming to gigi’s for italian food in the south end! Recommend the rigatoni alla vodka & arancini !! Cannot mix and match dishes, (but i wish you could get the chicken parm with the vodka sauce, the vodka sauce from the rigatoni alla vodka is delicious :) )

Went here on a whim, and so glad we did. Walked in to ask for a table for 3, no resy. The wonderful hostess said it would be 45 mins/ an hour, put are names down and went for a walk. 12 mins later table was ready. Our waitress Ashley was so sweet and attentive. She’s basically family now. Was always check on us. Even converted my non wine drinking cousin that he does like wine. The food was so delicious. The vibe of the place is super cute. Can’t wait to go again.

Google
Wish we could give 100 stars for review. Welcoming little place with terrific ambiance. Acresio was our waiter and we just immediately loved him! So gracious and attentive and genuine. Menu. What didn’t we order? Food and wine both impeccable. Eggplant with Haloumi with fresh sauce, Vodka sauce & perfectly al dente rigatoni, lamb, tagliatelle, pollo al limoncello with capers we just wanted to drink the sauce, bread with olive oil, chocolate souffe, tiramisu! Multapucxiano d’ Abruzzo was just one of a large wine list with authentic selections and cocktails. Too bad we live in Texas as we shared with Matthew, we would be at Gigi several times a week. This would truly be ‘our place’. Cannot wait to be back to Boston to visit our fav!!

Yelp
This place was quaint and authentic. Great service and very authentic Italian drinks and foods.

Yelp
I flew into Boston airport and had one chance at an amazing meal in town before I left. I made a reservation for 6pm and it wasn't super busy when we arrived but got packed after we were seated. I am so glad I made the reservation. The service was amazing. It's obvious this place is Italian owned by the charming service and the amazing food. Our server didn't let our water glasses empty, and was very prompt and kind with everything else. We started with the bread, which is very obviously made in house. It was light and fluffy in the middle with perfectly chewy crust. I would bet it was made same day. Following that, we shared the bruschetta. It had a few more ingredients than I expected but I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of flavor they added. Avocados added creaminess, and jalapeno added a very nice pepper flavor with no spice. I got the rigatoni alla vodka and would 100% get it again. And again. It was a perfect blend of creamy richness and tangy tomato. I would have asked for lore bread to wipe up the rest of I could have finished it! The serving sizes are very decent. Maybe not enough to share one dish if you have a big appetite, but I don't think you could leave hungry. I saved the best for last. Really. It's so obvious the tiramisu is made in house. The decadent layers of espresso soaked tiramisu and mascarpone came together with the perfect ratios of flavor and texture. This is hands-down the best tiramisu I have ever tasted in my entire life. I highly recommend this place for locals and tourists alike. Now I have a reason to fly into Boston next time.

Yelp
Was in town for a conference and really wanted pasta. I looked on Yelp and TikTok and GiGis popped up. It was only a 6 min walk from my hotel so I decided to give it a try. I arrived around 7:45 and was alone. I was told it was an hour wait. I regret not making the 8pm reservation that I saw was available. But nonetheless I decided to wait. After about 30 mins of waiting outside they offered me an outdoor table but I wanted to sit indoors. About 40 mins of waiting a seat at the bar opened up and they let me know and i sat there. I really wanted the lobster pasta I saw pictured about 5 months ago on Yelp but that was no longer on the menu so the bartender recommended the risotto al manzo(beef short rib risotto). It was really good. I usually don't finish all my food but I cleaned the plate! I will say the restaurant is TINY but it has a nice esthetic. You're definitely going to want to make reservations.

Yelp
A great spot for dinner! My husband and I went to Gigi on a Friday night and had a great time. The cocktails were tasty, we enjoyed our food (we had the Risotto Al Manzo, Rigatoni alla Vodka, and Tiramisu), and our waiter Leo was also fantastic. We did wish the pasta was cooked just a touch longer but really enjoyed the flavor of the pastas. My husband's favorite dessert is tiramisu and he loved the one they had at Gigi.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for some Italian food and definitely enjoyed ourselves. Upon arrival, we were seated pretty promptly. The entrance is a bit unclear because it says please wait to be seated but there isn't a host podium. After being seated, we were greeted by our server pretty quickly. For appetizers, we ordered the meatballs (polpette) and calamari. My friend sent the calamari back because it was a bit chewy and wasn't fried the way we anticipated (it was a pretty light fry). We also ordered Caesar salads but our waiter informed us that the salads are kinda big (they really weren't). I wish I would've ordered one anyway, but as an entree I got the ravioli al manzo which was delicious but served lukewarm. My friend ordered the rigatoni allá vodka. Her dish was delicious and hot. Overall, the dining experience was nice, the vibes inside were lively and the decor really went cohesively with the aesthetic. Also, the server took the calamari back with no questions and comped it from the bill. I'd recommend this restaurant and I would return

Yelp
Really solid! Caeser salad and arancini both awesome apps. the spicy vodka doesn't disappoint!

Yelp
Leo was the best server, he was so kind and attentive. These were such fabulous meals, and the best way to celebrate our anniversary. The drinks were delicious. We sat outside on the patio, despite being a bit chilly. The patio space was beautiful, and the inside was so vibey and well designed.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with my wife without a reservation. We were seated really quickly and the staff was very friendly. All the food was absolutely delicious. I'd certainly come back based on the fact that the food was all delicious and the staff provided stellar service.

Yelp
I dined here for my birthday. The place is cozy and lively. Our waiter, Leo was very tentative, kind, and has a sense of humor. I had a glass of white (Vermentino) to pair with my meals. It was light and crispy. For food my bf and I shared: Arancini--Crispy on the outside. Inside was filled with rice, meat and cheese You can really taste the cheese and the marinara sauce was perfect. Cozze--Our favorite appetizer! Mussels cooked in white wine sauce. It comes with bread so you can dip in the sauce at the end. Risotto all'Aragosta--Think of creamy tomato risotto with lobster. There are corns at the bottom to add a hint of sweetness. When eating you should make sure to mix or scoop all the way to the bottom. We asked for extra cheese and personally I thought it made it way better and less bland. This was my bf's favorite entree. Campanelle alla Boscaiola--If you like white wine sauce you will love this. A white wine mushroom pasta. Super flavorful. This was my favorite entree. For dessert we shared tiramisu. It was slightly cold but still so good. Between the two of us, this was plenty of food and we left full. I would like to come here again to try other dishes.

Yelp
Started out strong with some table side bread which was great and quickly moved onto the Ceasar Salad. It had avocado in it which I thought was a bit unique but, added a really nice creaminess to the salad. Plus there was a great deal of cheese so this was a super solid ceasar. Bonus points because they served our Diet Coke out of a small glass bottle with a cup and lemon on the side, like a little wine carafe. As for the pasta, I would say it was good. Defiantly not the best pasta I've had in the city, nor the worst. I'd say it fell somewhere in the middle. The Rigatoni alla Vodka was solid, not spicy and had a good amount of sauce to pasta ratio. I am all for an al dente pasta however, I felt like it was 30 seconds to a minute under al dente and gave a little bit too firm of a bite for me. I heard the table next to us say the same as well. As for the Bucatini alla Carbonara, the pasta itself was delicious. I love love love bucatini and it tasted fresh. It tasted like they used Guanciale (which is my preference) however, the peices were really big which made for a super fatty bite which I did not love. All around it was a good dinner, just some minor qualms The service was fabulous and our waitress was super kind. The door let in ALOT of cold air every time it opened so maybe they could add like a curtain or something to combat that. It's also pretty annoying that they only allow reservations 24 hours in advance. Definitely makes it hard to plan. Not sure what the reasoning behind this is, maybe to keep it feeling elite? Unsure. Super cute interior, def a great girls night spot and the food was pretty good

Yelp
TEN STARS! The food is so good here, it's crazy. It's very busy and rightfully so. They have a 90 minute turn time for each table and they will definitely get you through all courses in this window. Excellent service. It's a great spot for intimate celebrations; it has dim lighting and great music. Our waitress Ashley was the best - all of her recommendations hit. If you don't know what to get, Ask Ashley! Involtini di Melanzane 10/10 - OMG??? YES. One more tablespoon of sauce on this would've made me kiss everyone in the kitchen. Gamberi alla Calabrese 10/10 - [According to my partner] The shrimp was cooked perfectly but sauce was the real star of the show - must order with extra bread. Tagliatelle alla Fra Diavola 10/10 - [According to my partner] Perfectly Al dente. Sauce was a perfect balance between savory and spicy. It was the perfect amount of sauce. Because of how well the seafood was cooked, the tails slid right off and all the flavors maintained. Campanella alla Boscaiola 10/10 - I've never had wine sauce this good. I ordered mine with a side of red sauce and I was honestly torn between which one was better (red better for noodles, wine better for mushrooms). Tiramisu 10/10 - At this point, I started complaining about how good the food was. Outstanding! It was perfectly proportioned between the cream and soaked lady fingers AND they weren't shy with the cocoa dust. My partner has a dairy allergy but she saw how much I was enjoying it and risked it all to try! This is legit the best Italian food I've ever had. My partner and I didn't even talk until we finished our food - and we never finish! If I ever rated any other Italian place five stars, I take it back. Who knew you had to travel to Boston for good Italian.

Yelp
The restaurant is quite small but very intimate. The ambiance was absolutely breathtaking. Truly felt like a great little spot tucked away by the green door. I sat at the bar and had great conversations with the bartender and others sitting around me. It was cozy and not overwhelming! As far as food goes, I think about the Burrata and rigatoni constantly. The Burrata had a tomato jam that was to die for. I don't even like tomatoes, but the jam brought it to a whole new flavor palette. The Burrata was fresh and creamy- you could taste the quality. The rigatoni alla vodka was remarkable. The sauce was creamy and the flavors were layered so nicely. The pasta was perfectly Al dente. It was so good I didn't want to stop eating it even though I was full; because pasta is always best fresh!! Truly a delicious meal and such a treat.

Yelp
Gigi is a restaurant that has great ambiance, awesome decor, just good vibes all around. But the food was lacking I'm sorry to say. First thing, my Caesar salad. there was avocado in it. Now, I do love avocado, but absolutely not in my Caesar salad. It completely took away from the flavor of the salad. The meatballs were excellent. My husband did not like the chutney that came with the Burrata. The rigatoni with vodka sauce had a sweetness to it that I did not like it all. The fish dish that I ordered also sat in some sort of sauce that had a sweetness to it as well. When I asked the waiter for some salt (to help counteract the sweetness), he literally gave me the stink eye. Lastly, the carbonara pasta was too salty! They really struck out on the food for us so we won't be returning.

Yelp
We stopped by Gigi for Saturday lunch without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate us right away. The food was excellent, we shared the carpaccio, the risotto, and the carbonara, and everything was delicious. Our server was great, funny and attentive. It is a small spot, I feel like tables are a little bit too close to each other.

Mike R.

Yelp
Food was good. Nothing spectacular but well executed and came out hot Service was alright. Nothing insane. Nice spot for a date or maybe a girls night kind of vibe. Will come back but not rushing
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly love this Italian spot, but so disappointed that our server charged us $50 more than what we ordered. Fortunately, my phone alerted me with the total amount of the meal after I left the restaurant and I felt that I was being overcharged so I walked back to ask them to look at my receipt and change the total price for the meal. I didn't expect the server to give me the first receipt with the right amount when I asked for the check but then charged me more on my card after he swiped my card. Also, I had to tip him 30% after the changed amount since he just changed the total and not the tip part. Really disappointed because I had such a great experience with the pasta dishes and the service before that. Definitely check your checks before leaving this place!

Yelp
I came for a late dinner and restaurant was not packed with most groups fishing up and leaving. Parking was still pretty bad with only street parking in the residential areas around which required a permit for some streets. I was well attended to. Staff were amazing and service was quick. 8.5/10 Rigatoni alla Vodka $26 - Pasta was slightly undercooked as the rigatoni was still a bit doughy and not al dente. The sauce was amazing in flavor, creamy, but not heavy at all and coated the pasta well. I let the pasta sit bit to keep cooking. I wish this option came with meat option. 8/10 Brocollini $12 - Cooked perfectly. Well seasoned and charred topped with Parmesan. Portion is slightly underwhelming. 8/10 Cozze (mussels) $16 - Mussels were cooked well and came out hot and steaming. Quality was fresh and flavors were good. It was light and had a bit of sour from the juices which complimented the pasta.

Yelp
Gigi delivers solid Italian food with perfectly al dente pasta and well-balanced sauces. The tuna tartare was just okay, but the Hugo Spritz was refreshing and well-made. Service was also great, making for an overall enjoyable experience!
google avatar

Yelp
I went here for late night dinner and loved it! The ambiance was nice and our server was great as well. Their kitchen stays open until 10pm which was really nice for a Tuesday. I had no trouble getting a walk in table for 4 around 9pm. I got the swordfish and I really liked it. The sauce was very flavorful and the fish was cooked very well. One of my friends got the vodka pasta and just by trying a bite I could tell it was incredible. This experience left me wanting more, I'll have to return back in the future!

Yelp
My lady and I went to Gigi's on a Friday night for a drink and dinner. Reservations online are taken almost immediately for the weekend, so we went early to get a spot at the bar or a table if one opened up. We were able to get seats at the bar after waiting for around 45 minutes (got drinks at the bar while we waited). We had a good time talking to the bartender (who you could tell enjoys what he does) and he made some good cocktails. We had a high bar going there with the food, and we were not dissapointed. I had the spaghetti shrimp and it was one of the best seafood pasta dishes I've had. A great spot with nice, intimate vibes - we'll be going back!!
google avatar

Yelp
A great place for a romantic, intimate date night or a girls night out. We started off with the Etna Manhattan and a glass of Pinot Grigio. Our server was attentive and both drinks came out promptly after ordering. For food, we had the Calamari Fritti and Cozze (mussels). Both were good and the calamari was particularly light and crisp, but the mussels were a standout. The kick of habanero in the white wine, tomato sauce made for the perfect dipping sauce with the accompanying bread. Our entrees took quite a while to come out, but were well worth the wait. The Rigatoni alla Vodka was perfectly al dente and creamy without being heavy, and the Risotto al Manzo was soft and wonderfully savory. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu. Don't be fooled by the sloppy presentation. It was actually the best tasting tiramisu we've had in Boston! Sweet and saturated while maintaining an impressive structural integrity. Make sure to book a reservation (released two days in advance) as they're a small restaurant and fill up quickly. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner at this hoping spot in Boston. I was alone on business so when I arrived I sat at the bar which has about 8 spots. It wasn't too crowded however within minutes the place was bustling both inside and outside sidewalk dinning. The bartender, Michael, was great. Lots of interesting drinks being poured but he was spot on with the pours! I had a muscles appetizer followed by freshly made linguine with clams...food was amazing!!! Highly recommend this spot! Strongly suggest making a reservation as it fills up quick..

Yelp
This was the Boston Italian resto I didn't know I needed in my life but am now so happy to know exists. The food was amazing, the ambiance was *chef's kiss*, and the service was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Seriously, it would have been 5 stars on its own, but if I could give another 5 just for the service I would. What an amazing night.
google avatar

Alejandra H.

Yelp
Romantic ambiance, perfect valentines date spot For starters, we had the cozze (mussels dish) and for our entrees, my boyfriend had the bolognese and I had lobster risotto -- so creamy and came out nice and hot. Our waiter was really kind and attentive. For cocktails, I got the Sophia Loren which was fruity and very refreshing ‍ My boyfriend got the Bocelli. It gave fall vibes with the apple cider in it and brown sugar rim. I tried a sip and usually I wouldn't get a drink like that but the Bocelli made me consider otherwise for next time!
google avatar

Maru B.

Yelp
what a lovely restaurant. The ambiance is adorable, we got the best table in the house; nice and spacious in the back of this tiny cozy place. the people couldn't have been any kinder, our server david was wonderful, and the food was delicious. The eggplant appetizer was perfect and the chicken parm and vodka pasta perfect. we will be back for sure.
google avatar

Geof P.

Yelp
Came without a reservation, and while grateful to be accommodated, but pretty disappointed by the food. Seafood and chicken were both overcooked, and the ravioli portion was quite small for the price. Service and ambiance were good though.

Caitlyn H.

Yelp
Food is unbelievable, the best carbonara in Boston. wait staff was so friendly and made sure to assist whenever needed. So vibey inside and outside!
google avatar

Marci A.

Yelp
The service is top notch-- our server was amazing! The ambiance is also pretty nice and romantic but the food loses them a point because my pasta was way too al dente. There's a difference between al dente and hard and it was definitely hard. The meatballs appetizer was amazing so that's a must, all in all, give it a try! I'd be willing to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the good alternative Boston North End restaurant since there is parking available on street in terms of access. Their food is amazing and a must return with my favorite being their arancini and caprese salad to name a few and not to short change the fabulous entrees. Unfortunately, after we had our main entrees, we were too full to experience their tiramisu which we really want to experience the next time. Eating alfresco since they were full indoors, our waiter service as impeccable and conversational; just a lovely time and experience. There indoor dining ambiance seem cosy like an authentic Mom & Pop Italian restaurant that we have yet to experience; next time.
google avatar

Jason A.

Yelp
This place had one of the best mushroom risottos! It was creamy, didn't feel like a " soup " and the meat on top paired perfectly well with the rice. The restaurant has a nice ambiance - would recommend for a date!
google avatar

Elias G.

Yelp
The food and service were great, and it was very pleasant to sit outside (not too busy or disruptive despite being on the sidewalk). The table bread comes with oil and balsamic in a good ratio, and the bread is airy with a great crust. We got the Broccolini and Arancini as appetizers. The arancini were significantly more cheese than rice, but good nonetheless. They came in a smoked tomato sauce, which went very well to cut some of the richness of the cheeses; I've found arancini to be a bit dense in other places, but they were quite light here. The broccolini were equally excellent, having a bit of char and citrus (though we couldn't figure out which fruit) to deepen the flavor. I got the Chicken Cacciatore (Pollo alla Cacciatora) as my main. The meat itself was moist and juicy with a crispy skin (my favorite part). The olives and mushrooms in the sauce were great to give some balance to the meat-centric dish. I tried the other dishes as well -- the pasta were cooked nicely and have good flavor. The risotto itself was also quite good, though the short rib alone was a bit dry. Overall I would absolutely come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Great vibes, a delicious spicy margarita, and great service as well! I walked in and was able to get a table for one immediately.

Yelp
Amazing environment with decent food and service. To be honest, the vibes of the restaurant were better than the food. I ordered the Campanelle Bolognese, Calamari Fritti, and Tiramisu. Really great calamari and tiramisu! The pasta didn't blow my mind. It was a little too al dente and sweet for my tasting. I tried some of my friends risotto and I liked it more than my pasta. I'd definitely be interested in coming back to try more items on the menu!

Yelp
There are so many Italian spots and I finally decided on one. Gigi's was going to be my birthday celebration dinner. I ended up making a reservation for my boyfriend and I to eat at Gigi's. We arrived early and we were greeted by a nice host who directed us to the bar to get a drink while they got our table ready. We didn't have to wait long until we were seated and we got a great view by the window. Looking at the menu, I knew what I wanted and that would be the rigatoni with vodka sauce and my boyfriend got the risotto with mushrooms. We started off with the burratta which was amazing, but we were a little disappointed when it only came out with two bread slices so we had to put all of the jam and cheese on the two bread slices. Later on the waitress offered us more bread, but it was kind of late when we had already eaten most of it. The rigatoni was okay, it was kind of sweet and needed more flavor. The risotto was also okay and had overcooked rice. The dishes were good, but portion sizes were very small. I would recommend the burratta to anyone looking for a good appetizer.

Emma P.

Yelp
Really great food and great staff. The inside of the restaurant is so cute too. I definitely will be coming back.

Yelp
I am a HUGE fan of their vodka pasta- one of my favorites of this dish in Boston. The perfect amount of creaminess in the sauce. Also the place is very pretty and great ambiance. I would also say the service was very good-the waiter was very nice and helpful answering questions. We had a couple of appetizers which were okay...but the pasta was really the star!
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
Food was wonderful and the service was even better. Showed up with no reservation and could a table, but still very busy. Get the Gnoochi...

James M.

Yelp
Food was poor and lacked taste. The portions were quite small. Service was exceptional.

Budak M.

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch and had their shrimp scampi pasta. The garlic flavor was strong in a good way and the shrimp were fresh and juicy. The pasta was light and not overly oily which I loved. Their side salad was basic but refreshing. Service was quick and they were super nice about accommodating my request to swap out the pasta type. The restaurant had a calm vibe and everything felt clean and relaxed. Totally worth the price for how satisfying the meal was.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend came here on a Thursday night and had a reservation for 615, we arrived and we got sat right away. We are very disappointed in the food, the vodka pasta came out freezing cold, and the pasta was hard as a rock, we also got the short rib risotto, which came out with one small short rib, and once again very cold. We got a glass of wine and a beer and both came out with our meals, which was 30 minutes after we sat. Not great service and disappointing food, we will not be back.

Yelp
I was visiting Boston for work, craving good Italian food and Gigi hit the spot! The restaurant itself is small but beautifully decorated & super cute. I sat at the very tiny bar, but despite it being incredibly busy, the bartender was pretty responsive. I had the elderflower spritz, which was very tasty. For dinner, I ordered the Carbonara, and it was perfection (and made correctly with no cream)! I was offered bread, but that didn't come until halfway through my dinner. So at that point it was a waste, but it was presented so nicely that I felt bad not having at least one slice. I just wish it came before the meal as I settled in and waited for my food. But overall, this is a great spot, and I'd love to go back and sit in the patio for the full experience. Definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

Yelp
Such a great meal and cozy spot. The squash blossom with pesto special was really amazing and I would go back in a heart beat for that alone

Yelp
Came to Gigi for my friend's birthday and it was an awesome experience. The vibes were wonderful, as was the food and the service. Our server and the other staff were all very attentive, and we never had to wait too long for our food. Which speaking of, was fantastic. We split the meatballs (which were very flavorful), and then I got the rigatoni a la vodka and my friend got the Carbonara. Both pastas were phenomenal, and we finished our entire plates. We finished off with tiramisu for dessert, which was delicious, and they were kind enough to sing happy birthday to my friend. Overall a highlight of our trip, can't recommend Gigi enough!

Yelp
When we were calling GiGi's.. they were incredibly rude. When we got there it was packed and we got the table right near the entrance. The menu looked appetizing, but I didn't like how it was so dark in there. I have AMAZING sight yet I needed to use the flashlight of my phone to see. It is so dimly lit. The food was amazing. I got the amazing gnocchi. The bread was great as well. They even took off our desserts for the inconvenience. I would definitely come back

Yelp
Ambiance of the restaurant is very nice! Service was a little slow but it seemed as though they may have been short staffed that night. Food was delicious, I had the gnocchi and it was great! Also had a Hugo spritz and it was delish!

Yelp
Wow I am obsessed! I was in Boston for a few days, visiting from New York, and I randomly stumbled across Gigi on Instagram. I'm so happy that I did because I loved it!! We made a reservation in advance but we ended up getting there half an hour early because the weather was terrible & ruined our plans lol. Once we got there we understandably had to wait but the servers were the BEST! They kept trending to us and the hostess even got us drinks from the bar. We ordered spritzes and they were delicious! We had to wait for almost 2 hours (couldn't really leave & come back because it was heavily down pouring) but the staff was so sweet and tried their best to accommodate everyone who came in because of the rain. Once we got seated, we ordered right away and literally everything was amazing! Our order: calamari, arancini, rigatoni alla vodka, campanelle alla boscaiola, espresso, tiramisu, & more spritzes The vibe is definitely intimate and cozy making it the perfect spot for a date or dinner with friends

Yelp
While on my trip I decided to venture to another Italian restaurant. This was far a better choice from the previous night. The location is on the main street, however to park go East until the CVS where there is meter parking (that if you go at night). Location is small and it gets busy fast. Make sure you make reservations to make it easier. Service was great and professional. Venue has an Italian ambiance and very good place to go on a date or meet with a friend. Food was excellent and very tasty. I would recommend heating up the bread and main course meal a little bit. Soft drinks are small so consider getting water and or a glass of wine. Other than that is a great place to enjoy a good dinner and/or a metting with a friend/family.

Yelp
We missed the previous Giacomo at this location a lot. That used to be a nice friendly restaurant in the area. Gigi surely turned that nice friendly family owned restaurant into a business feeling. It lost the vibe that the previous Giacomo had. So that's a bit of a disappointment. Arancini was good. Calamari Fritto was so so.
