Treasure Island’s 11 Best Beach Eats | Eater Miami

"From homemade lasagna to chicken piccata, Gigi’s is well-versed in the art of a plate of pasta and sauce. The darkened wood-lined dining room is full of larger family-style booths, so don’t be afraid to bring a crowd. The entire experience is authentic and intimate, from the pasta to the pies. It offers fresh seafood, daily specials, and an impressive wine selection." - Arielle Stevenson

Google
They might be putting crack in those mozzarella sticks because they are the best I have ever had. Usually mozzarella sticks at a restaurant are average and all taste about the same, not these. These are top shelf. Pizza is great too. Love this place. Always go when I am in the area. Service is good too.

Google
Amazing service! And the lobster ravioli is perfect. They don't overcooked the scallops and the shells were a nice touch! Small space, but worth it!

Google
I had a horrible experience there. The server was clearly unhappy I wanted to sit outside. She was rude from the onset. I ordered an appetizer and the rigatoni to go. I asked for the pasta to be a little on the firm side since I'd be warming it up later. Well, when I unpacked my meal later, there was no pasta and the meat and vegetables were RAW (not undercooked, literally raw). Really wish I would have checked before I left such a generous tip. I brought it all home with me so I will enjoy it as best as I can. I hope she and the cook lose their jobs over this.

This became a nightly dining spot while on our honeymoon in St Petersburg. The atmosphere was excellent, food delicious, and prices reasonable. Highly recommended! Mike & Qin

Google
Yummy Italian restaurant on St. Pete Beach. It's a small place so you may drive right by it like we did. But we found it and was not disappointed. I ordered one of the specials, stuffed flounder. It was stuffed with shrimp and crab and it melted like butter in my mouth. It had these delicious crispy onions on top and came with a GIANT baked potato on the side. It was so good I am not sure I will ever order anything else! They have beer, wine and sangria. If you are in St. Pete then check this place out. If you have a big party be sure to make reservations.

Google
We enjoyed a delicious carryout order of grilled chicken fettuccine alfredo. The food was delicious. In hindsight, on this dish I would order extra alfredo sauce the next time. I can't speak to the atmosphere, as we took our food to a beach side resort to enjoy a beautiful sunset. I highly recommend!

Google
Shrimp scampi with linguine & garlic. Very tasty and expertly cooked. Brought to the table nicely warm and ready to eat. Try the garlic bread while you wait for your dinner. Easy parking. Worth tracking down for a wonderful meal.

We love this place so much we took our engagement photos here. Good food. Good service.

Yelp
Comforting Italian dining area when entering, with a quick friendly greeting. But the best experience by far was the Veal Piccata. Made exactly like my Italian mother made it! I remember her pounding the veal until it was fork tender, lightly floured and quick sauteed and then mixing the sauce to serve them both over hot pasta with grilled lemon slices. The server shared that they pounded the veal daily; it was perfectly prepared and served. My wife had the shrimp Scampi and was just as pleased. 5 stars for sure.

Yelp
Please don't listen to reviews that complain about service - especially as this community is still recovering from devastating hurricanes! Dinner salads were wonderful & generous. And the pizza - thin & crispy crust - was delicious! Not a huge restaurant, but well worth the visit!

Yelp
Ok! reviews just ok . Still was gonna try . MISTAKE !!! Went in was busy but most were done eating .. hostess sat us at Dirty table . Still ok . But then 20 min later lots of eye contact from staff but no acknowledgement. Busman got us a water said server will be right there. NOPE !!! Told hostess we leaving and she asked were we siting only hostess lol she sat us in corner . DUH!! We are now in Giuseppe down the road . Prices right compared to GIGI . Wich now after reading reviews further is way overpriced and overrated

Yelp
I tried this for the first time May 2025 while in St. Pete Beach. Cute and inviting. Our waitress was nice. I tried the spaghetti bolognese and it was good but not my favorite. I'd like to return again and try the pizza it looked amazing!

Yelp
I have Been wanting to Try Gigi's and Support All the Small Businesses affected by the Hurricanes on St Pete Beach. Love that it is Family Owned. Would I Come Back? No. Would I Consider Delivery? Maybe. The Service was Lacking. It Took 12-15 min to Be Greeted after being Sat. For our First Time to be Sat by the back Kitchen Door on an Empty Night was also Dissatisfying. Food was ok. Honestly was Mainly Disappointed by the Service.

Yelp
I recently visited Gigi's and it was a complete disaster. The service was slow, and the staff seemed uninterested in helping customers. I waited over 30 minutes for my pizza, only to find it was burnt and tasted like cardboard. The toppings were sparse, and the cheese was greasy. I had asked the hostess if I could have a side of ranch with my order and she barked at me about how it was going to be 2 EXTRA dollars and that maybe next time I should think about adding ranch to my order before going to pick it up. To top it off, the place was dirty and uninviting. As a fellow Gigi I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant that I share a name with. I will definitely not be returning and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

Yelp
I'm don't know why we waited so long to come back to the wonderful restaurant to eat. Gigi's Italian Restaurant food is truly magnificent. I love ziti and ordered it tonight for dinner. My my my the Italian sausage and the Italian meatballs were so good in the ziti. I can taste all the wonderful herbs well distributed throughout the meatballs. The cheeses and sauce in the ziti you can taste the love that's put into making this dish. Hubby ordered the Gigi's pizza. Awww once again another magnificent dish! Everything is made with quality meats, cheese and sauce. We sat by the fish tank which was had beautiful fish in it. It was like watching a Nemo and his friends, so relaxing. And now our wonderful waitress Bri, with her bright welcoming smile and up beat attitude. She was absolutely delightful. I am so looking forward to going back and it won't be a long time again. If you haven't been to Gigi's please go, you won't stop.

Yelp
I ordered salad with chicken And my friend ordered lasagna. Lasagna tasted like it came out of the box and the meet inside is PIZZA sausage. The salad was ok. Atmospheric is nice , but if you want to enjoy your food - skip this place.

Yelp
I've been driving past this restaurant for years and decided it was time to try it. What a disappointment. I ordered the bruschetta which was enjoyable. I also ordered Chicken Marsala...gross! I felt as though I was chewing on leather. Oil is dripping everywhere and there is no hint of Marsala...this place is a one-and-done.

Sally B.

Yelp
Amazing food and service... Ambiance in the restaurant is nice. Delivery is frequent in my neighborhood. Love Gigis!!!!

Theodora L.

Yelp
Horrible service. The hostess sat us down and we literally waited over 20-25 minutes without any acknowledgment from any waitress, even though they looked over at our way for a little bit. Finally we got tired of waiting. We got up and left, but I stopped to tell the hostess why we were leaving because we weren't being waited on and she didn't evenremember where she sat us.

Yelp
Best pizza in town, these guys do it old school. We order thin crust and have them do it a bit extra crispy. Rarely have anything else on the menu this is a pizza place. But their meatballs, eggplant parmigiana and stuffed fish are also great!

Pj S.

Yelp
We ate there this past week and were glad we did. The service was excellent and our salad and dinners were delicious. We shared an antipasto salad and it was enough for 4 though the 2 of us ate it all! Their soups are delicious and we've never had a bad entree' there. We went about 4:30 pm and by the time we left they were almost completely booked. Family owned. Give them a try!!

Felicia D.

Yelp
Dissatisfied and disappointed-ordered a pizza for delivery and was told 30-45 minutes, pizza arrived in 55 minutes and it was not hot and a bit lopsided and squashed. Cheese Pizza

Yelp
As the grandson of two Italian grandmothers, this place makes my heart sing! The escargot pizza is a revelation; if you like it, do yourself a favor and give it a try. It is simply the best escargot delivery system.

J M.

Yelp
We've driven past this restaurant many times and it's always busy. We finally tried it this evening and we were so disappointed. We ordered calamari, the pasta trio and chicken with mushrooms. It was inedible. Probably the worst food I've been served in a restauarnt. The calamari was chewy and not fresh. The marinara was horribly bitter, the eggplant parmigiana was mush (I'm not even sure it was eggplant), the shells were tasteless, the lasagna was vile and the chicken had an awful leftover taste. Will not be coming back here. That said, the wait staff were very nice.

Kathy R.

Yelp
Their pizza is fabulous! And the fish special is equally good! Definitely give them a try!

Yelp
Well..... If you are at the beach and are ready to fill up, come here. For reals, the pizza is perfect. Just come in and grab a pie. It's a sit down or take out kind of place. The pizza is thin and crispy. You can order thick crust I think but no need. House pie is so crunchy and toppings are freaking awesome. The Italian Sausage is really ridiculous. Flavor and Freshness Very quaint and sit down feeling inside. Could be anywhere in the world inside here. Fish tank is creepy but other than that . Everything adds up to who cares what it looks like. This place rocks. If you are on the beach get yo butt in here. The pizza is so ridiculously good!!!!!! Good Knight Now!!

Renato V.

Yelp
Das Essen war ok aber nicht mehr....... Das Preis/Leistung Verhältnis passt nicht. Bestellte eine zusammengestellte Pizza, für mich als Europäer hatte das nichts mit einer Pizza gemeinsam. Sorry

Yelp
We have been going here for years. Lost count! I don't know if it's still the same management, but I love the food.... And it's always a prime stop when I'm in St Pete. Pizza is awesome. Nice and thin if that's your thing. All of the pasta is good. And their house marinara is just a touch spicy with a bit of vegetables in the sauce. Absolutely love it! This is a MUST GO TO PLACE if your in St Pete! Go to this place! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Stumbled into Gigi's to re-live some old memories, and we were transported into a dining experience that can only described as...quintessential American Italian. As we were served a manicotti with meatballs, with a tangy sauce that I found kind of unique, and poured a glass of (literal) table wine to Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight", I definitely felt a sense of home. Our server was attentive but not pushy, and the highlight of the meal was the White Pizza, with a thin crust that was just perfect - reminded me of saganaki. Like the ambiance, the food was everything you'd expect and that's a great thing.

Yelp
This place is a great pasta night! Always fresh and very tasty! Our vacation "go to" for an indulgent dinner!

Yelp
Excellent pasta and pizza! Best customer service in town ! They will accommodate your every single need ! Outstanding staff ! Romantic, good for bday celebrations, or groups , very cozy, classy Italian. Calamari was fresh! Alfredo pasta was my favorite very creamy. Always good wines . You can't go wrong here . Definitely coming back .

Yelp
We placed an order to go, chicken piccata and chicken Alfredo. The food was ready to go when we got there which was nice. When checking out we noticed our bill for the two dinners were 52.00. On the bill the Alfredo was 29.00! Online it was showing 18.00. When we questioned it they said not all online is pricing is correct and the manager needs to update it. We've never paid 29.00 for Alfredo. I think the manager needs to update pricing ASAP. I opened my chicken piccata dish and the breasts were soaking in a bath of lemon butter, literally inches. Typically when I've eaten this dish it's had a white wine sauce and pasta. This was served with rice (my choice) but I was confused when ordering it. My choices were baked potato, mixed vegetables, mixture of pasta or rice. I was confused because typically I get the pasta and sauce. It was so greasy and the lemon was overwhelming. The worst part of this is my husband's chicken Alfredo experience. When he opened it up and it looked curdled so he thought he would stir it in case it was just the cheese. He took about five bites, and could no longer eat it. About an hour and a half later he was throwing up. He was sick the remainder of the night. Based on the 2 dishes and the misleading prices, we'd never go back again!

Yelp
The pizza was excellent as well as the Garlic cheese bread. The place was very busy. staff was VERY friendly. Traveling here from Michigan for spring break. highly recommended

Yelp
Delicious pizza spot! The pizza was thin and crispy -- just what we needed after a day at the beach. With a party of 12 we had the outdoor seating all to ourselves. A great cozy family-friendly spot!

Chad B.

Yelp
One of our favs when visiting St. Pete. Great pastas and pizzas. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Pizza was pretty good not great but over priced. Actually got the order wrong and not worth $31! Cheese Pizza with sausage and pepperoni

Yelp
My thoughts on a visit and review to Gigi's Italian Restaurant in St.Pete Beach, Florida on Wine Dine and Play: Gigi's opened in 1967 on St Pete Beach and today has three locations run by the second generation of owners, offering simple comfort food Italian choices and wine. My wife started with a glass of Caposaldo chianti from100% handpicked grapes comprised with a blending of 75% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Malvasia while I had a glass of the Castle Rock Pinot Noir a 2016 Central Coast Pinot Noir. We came for an early dinner, taking advantage of the early bird and regular menu by splitting two entrees starting with the medium-sized pizzas and alfredo pasta. You can read the full review by visiting the Wine Dine and Play blog website.

Yelp
I visited your establishment with a group of 12. Crystal did a great job on providing great service. I enjoyed the Pork Ossobuco. The rest of the group enjoyed there meals as well. My only surprise through out the evening is when I asked for an espresso. How can an Italian Restaurant not have espresso? If had one suggestion that is what I would suggest.

Yelp
Sorry folks but Gigi's Italian restaurant was such a disappointment! If you have ever eaten at any local chains like Sal's Italian or Carrabbas or Cheesecake Factory any place that serves normal Italian fare, (forget expensive chef based restaurants) you know what a particular dish is supposed to taste like. At Gigi's we got a big plate of food- nice big quantity, but lacked taste. We ordered 4 entrees and fried calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was relatively the best item taste wise. Under salted pasta sitting in a brown pool of sauce supposed to be Marsala sauce, was such a disappointment. Truly no taste of Marsala at all. Other dishes ordered were pasta in Alfredo sauce, chicken piccata and another chicken dish, all with the same fate. No depth of taste & under salted pasta equals one star for the Italian restaurant. Let me mention, the server was quite gracious but going to a restaurant for dining is mainly about the food! Sorry Gigi.

Yelp
Good was so good! Seating is a little tight, tables too close together. The food was worth it. Chicken Picatta was outstanding, wings were indeed like those in Buffalo New York. We will eat here many more times on future vacations to this area.

Nicole M.

Yelp
BEST CHICKEN PARM IVE EVER HAD!!!!! We had such a great experience here while visiting st Pete! Loved the family size Caesar salad and the breadsticks were so delicious. My family also enjoyed their lasagna and the tiramisu was definitely homemade and delicious. Our server was so friendly and amazing. We'll definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Lawrence S.

Yelp
Felt compelled to review after seeing the low ratings. We had a wonderful, wonderful meal. All 5 of us enjoyed our service and the "mom and pop" ambiance. They had a lot of great menu choices including escargot pizza! The chicken parm was amazing. So was everything else. Complementary garlic bread which was a great touch. We may in fact eat here the second night of our vacation as well!
google avatar

Yelp
This place looks slightly dark and scary but when you sit down and the servers come if us a very great experience! The service was great and the food was good! The food was very hot but almost too hot. Everyone at the table burned their tongues! I guess it is better that it being too cold. I would definitely come back to this restaurant! Here is the menu with some prices!! Enjoy

Joe A.

Yelp
Wow! I've been going here almost 20 years, paid over $40 for ONE pizza tonight! Definitely our last visit. Quality was okay, but they should just rely on unsuspecting tourists to pay their exeburen prices fom now on.

Yelp
This delivery driver came flying through the neighborhood behind the restaurant going about 50mph in a 20mph zone. I decided to stand on the street and film him as he came back by to leave. He stopped at the stop sign out front of my house, opened his door & threw his GiGi's receipts onto the street. Absolutely despicable behavior. If I ever see this guy fly back down this street it'll be the police I call, not the restaurant manager as I did this instance.
google avatar

Jody V.

Yelp
Went with family on vacation for our 35th anniversary desiring Italian food and unfortunately after an hour of not having diner brought out left the restaurant. When I explained to the manager we waited over an hour and people got served that came in after us she said" well you had an appetizer" No refreshing of drinks no visible sign of our waitress. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place GiGi's

Yelp
Maria and I really enjoyed eating here. Maria had the stuff flounder (yummo) I had the gigi pizza (yummo) definitely recommend. Ron

Yelp
A friend and I were staying at a motel across the street and came in one night for dinner. Eggplant Parmigiana is one of my favorite meals and I'm very picky with my sauce but this one did not disappoint! It was outstanding and I wish I could have it right now! The house salad was another winner along with the garlic bread. If you want good Italian food, Gigi's needs to be at the top of your list!
google avatar

Yelp
This place was borderline three stars for me but I decided to be nice and go with four for the time being. What has me on the fence is basically the value. Their food is "pretty good"; i.e. I would not go so far as to call it great, but definitely good enough to keep coming back, so that in my mind is what I refer to as a pretty good meal. The real issue is the food combined with the price; I feel like their prices are just slightly above what the food delivers. In any case; my wife and I have a place in St Pete Beach so when we're wanting some decent Italian food, we come here. The caprese salad is great; I posted a picture of it. Typically one of us always gets the chicken parm; it's pretty decent and we split it. The other will get something at random. I've found that their 'pompeii' preparation on chicken and veal is pretty great. Blackened prep on salmon is as well. Their Marsala sauce; so so. The other preps I could take or leave. Their pizzas are great, but pricey. They have early bird from 4pm to 6pm; definitely don't overlook that, it's a much better value, but limited menu. If the entrees were perhaps a couple dollars cheaper, I'd consider things priced just right for what you get. I don't think you'll be disappointed regardless though; if you're on the beach and want Italian, don't pass this place up.

Peggy M.

Yelp
I ordered fettuccine Alfredo my husband ordered lasagna the Alfredo was tasteless the lasagna had so much sauce it was horrible I've never had such awful Italian ever Fazolis fast food is better Don't waste your money Server was great

Yelp
My girlfriend and I grabbed take out from here while on vacation. We were staying at the Beach House Suites just a five minute walk down the road. Ordering was easy over the phone. The wait time was respectable and efficient. Upon arrival the food was ready with minimal wait time. We ordered a medium meat lovers pizza... which was a little doughy (under cooked), but still excellent. Highly recommend the large Caesar salad that can easily feed 4 and comes with more than enough dressing that comes with it. We also got the bruschetta app which was delicious. Went back the next night with friends. Service was just as good and the margherita pizza... added chicken was phenomenal and the crust was completely cooked with a good crunch!

Yelp
We got in at 530p on Memorial Day for a pizza dinner. Easy access parking next to the restaurant. There was a terrible body oder as we walked in the front door it carried a harsh sulfer scent. It was nvery busy, there was one other group in the restaurant. Attire was casual, shorts, t-shirts and sandals. No music, kinda dull. They pushed all the seafood specials, we just wanted a good Italian pizza. We ordered the garlic cheese bread with red sauce for an appetizer and a thick crust pepperoni and sausage with mushrooms pizza. The waitress seemed surprised we wanted thick crust (which was essentially thin compared to most pizza places). I think their specialty was thin crust. Service was prompt, food was timely, waitress checked back with us often and filled drinks. I'll search for another Italian place on the Gulf Dr. strip.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
Small but good place just across the street from the beach. Good service. Pizza is thin crust and has plenty of toppings. Nice caprese salad. Small but serviceable wine list. Pastas also looked very good and large portions. Will go back and try some.
google avatar

Margarita R.

Yelp
We just moved to this area and we read the reviews and went to check it out, I found it overrated, we order he calamari, I liked the marinara and they were ok, but nothing extraordinary, the biggest disappointment was the pizza, I really think they get them from pizza hot... that pizza was so bad and on top of that expensive. I see it more as tourist trap, I don't think we are going back to give them a second chance like we always do. Since then we found a really good Italian place tony and Nello, I will write a review for that place soon.
google avatar

Dr. Richard L.

Yelp
After seeing the sign out front stating that GiGi's is/was "Voted Best on the Beach", we had to give it a try...in most aspects it delivered. The ambience was traditional family style Italian...since we were there at sunset, even with the blinds down, it was a bit warm inside. Started with the soup of the day - a tomato based minestrone. The bowl was large and the soup was good. One item - the vegetables were a bit crunchy - could have been cooked a little more. The garlic bread was okay. The linguini with red clam sauce was excellent and loaded with clams. The eggplant parmesan was good...not outstanding but solid. Service was on par with other establishments. The hostess really did not greet us and seated us without talking. Overall - while somewhat pricy, it was pretty good. Will have to see if there pizza is as good as they claim.

Yelp
3rd generation approves. I have been coming here as long as I can remember. My #1 spot for pizza.
