Google
Gilbert is definitely a place worth visiting. Yasmy, the friendly young man with a warm smile, made me an incredible Cuban coffee—rich, strong, and full of authentic flavor. He truly knows what he’s doing! The two other ladies were also very attentive and provided great service. I highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely be back for another cafecito!

Google
I loved the guava pastry! I would’ve gladly eaten 10 of them 😆 (priced about $4) Staff were very friendly. Husband said coffee was average. The chocolate croissant had lots of chocolate inside and was quite large 👍🏻 They heat the food up in an oven instead of a microwave which was a huge perk. We ordered a sandwich to go which was on the small side but I could see that when I looked in the case (price at about $9).

Google
Outstanding Customer Service! I want to give a big thank you to Yasmani at Gilbert for his exceptional service. From the very beginning, he was kind, professional, and truly attentive to my needs. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire process. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about providing top-quality service. Thank you, Yasmany, for your dedication and great attitude!

Google
I had an incredibly disappointing experience with customer service. The employee with frosted tips was unprofessional and dismissive when I politely asked if I could add another item to my order. I was trying to be considerate as someone behind me was still deciding, and he was the only person available to take my order. Instead of assisting, he gave me a "talk to the hand" gesture, which felt rude and uncalled for. It's frustrating to be treated this way, especially when all I was trying to do was place a simple order.

Google
Fantastic fresh sandwiches and salads, excellent coffee. Would have taken pictures but I was starving and the sandwich was absolutely hittin’

Google
Basically a scam. They have large sandwiches on display and when you order one they take 1/4 of that and heat it up and cut it in half. The beverages were on a raised platform with other things in front of them, making it seem like they were full sized 20oz bottles but it was mini bottles. This small snack cost me $11. It's also very suspicious how most of the 5 star reviews mention multiple employees by name, yet do not mention the food quality or prices.

Google
I’d like to share the great experience I had today at Gilbert, a Cuban café at the Miami airport. One of the guys who helped me recommended the soursop juice( Guanábana) — I had never tried it before, and I loved it! Yasmany, the young man who served me, was kind, super attentive, and had exceptional charisma. I’ll definitely stop by Gilbert Bakery again the next time I’m in Miami.

Google
I was having a tough time after my flight was so delayed that I was stuck in MIA. I took food voucher from United Airlines to Gilbert's and they took the best care of me. They were kind and explained how the vouchers worked and recommended the best treats. Their comfort food hit the spot.

Yelp
Arrived to the airport early at 6am and luckily this place was open. This is a nice spot for a quick breakfast pastry before your flight! I got 2 guava pastries (crispy and sweet) warmed up and a cortadito. $13.87 for everything. Friendly and quick service. Plenty of seating nearby.

Klaus O.

Yelp
There is no food place at the baggage claim level. This place is at the ticketing level. Stopped here for a quick and small breakfast in the early morning, before heading to Port Everglades. I had the bean soup with a bagel and the wife had a spinach quiche, a delicious guava danish and the cinnamon cappuccino. All was tasty and the service was friendly.

Vanessa V.

Yelp
The food is very good, we ordered the beef empanadas which I would definitely recommend, the guava pastries are delicious if you're looking for something sweeter , they have a variety of pastries and desserts but I wouldn't say they fill you up , it's more of a what to eat on the go before your flight type of food , the service was very nice , the ambiance is good , kind of noisy, but overall it's a good place to wait for your trip, there aren't many seats available and of course the prices are high as you're ordering in an airport , overall it's a nice small place to eat quick food .

Cheryl B.

Yelp
Ordered a vegan wrap while waiting in the airport. This wrap had lots of lettuce and not much else. The staff seem a bit disorganized but friendly. Would not eat here again

T S.

Yelp
I was in the Miami airport and bought one of their key lime tarts and I've been hooked ever since... it's my FAVORITE now. I live in Ft. Lauderdale but they go out of the way to help set up deliveries of this tart which I buy for all occasions where I provide dessert. It's the best key lime pie/tart anywhere.

Yelp
Hey Hey travelers to United concourse H! Not much in the way of food round these parts and I was jonesing for a Cubano Sandwich after striking out on getting one during a 3-day stay in beautiful and pricey Miami. Lo & behold Gilbert Bakery which can be easily missed due to its location adjacent to the concourse. Come one come all for this place delivers the goods in a kind, timely, & all together efficient manner! Like the rest of this wonderful city, staff seem fluent in Spanish & English. Unlike most of Miami, the prices are nice -the Cubano was $8.50-and served pleasantly warmed with melted gooey Swiss! The other spots in this food court were serving Cubano for nearly double the price so consider a visit on price alone! I did not try anything else but don't let that stop you from diving into their menu of baked goods, espresso, & sandwiches!

Brittany O.

Yelp
Ordered a pastry and orange juice and paid. Girl goes to cooler and says they don't have orange juice, I said I only wanted orange juice. She said they had apple juice so I asked for a refund. She said she couldn't give a refund! I had a flight to catch so no time to stand and argue over $3.99. Make sure they have what you want available before paying!

Thamara Q.

Yelp
The guy at the counter tried convincing me that egg and cheese are vegan because they don't have meat. I asked him what they had that was vegan and he suggested an egg tortilla and a quesadilla. I mean I get if a random person doesn't understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan, but if you work in the food industry you must. Thankfully I don't have any severe allergies but his attitude was repulsive and the service leaves a lot to be desired 0/10

Kenia G.

Yelp
I tried the guava pastry and it was good the dulce de leche I didn't really like, it was too strong and sweet mixed together. I would def try again. This bakery coffee shop is located inside the Miami international airport. The energy at the airport is calm and they have a great prime location. Around the corner there is a Burger King in case you want to have something else also. I paid almost $10 for both items. I didn't feel the prices were ridiculous. The staff was busy and pleasant. You can tell they run things smooth and doing the best to get through the line :)

Pamela M.

Yelp
Ok, I was trying to order something off the menu, pointing, talking, repeating but the person at the counter could not understand me. I am not sure how many times I said the name of the thing I was ordering -- probably 6 to 10? Someone else came and seemed to understand me a bit better after repeating the same process described. It was a platter that described as low-carb. I just wanted meats and cheeses. There ended up being crostini like thing in there, too, which, hah, of course, I ate those. But, not sure how low-carb that made the platter? It was pretty generous in quantity! I would order it again, especially for airport takeaway food. But I do cringe at repeating the process I had to undergo to get someone to comprehend what I wanted from their menu.

Melissa I.

Yelp
Okay for airport quick bite and go. We had a cordito, quiche, croquettes and key lime tart. The ham and cheese quiche was decent. The croquettes were not fresh and microwaved. The cordito and tart was yummy. Friendly staff and convenient

Adriana R.

Yelp
There are not many food options around Concourse H/J, and all of them are fast food chains, which we usually avoid. Therefore, we were glad we found this bakery. The place was packed but we were lucky to find a table. Unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations at all, as both our empanadas and croquetas were very mediocre. The cappuccino instead was good and the staff very friendly.

Mike H.

Yelp
Worst place you can go to save your money or sit in Starbucks line. Worst people and attitude, can't get a Luke warm quiche still frozen in the center. Run away!

Anthony G.

Yelp
My family and I ate at Gilbert's Bakery over a week ago before our family vacation to Boston/Cape Cod/Maine. We were stuck in the airport for hours and would have an entire day of flying because of a huge mistake on the part of Delta. My family and I were pretty upset, tired and hungry and our day has just started a few hours before. We came to Gilbert's for the following reasons: 1) Terminals H and J have terrible food options in regards to amount, quality and variety. 2) We were hungry 3) We needed some comfort food. As such my family bought cafe con leches, Cuban toast, croquettes and a number of deserts. The meal was for the most part very satisfying. The cafe con leche and toast certainly hit the spot, the desserts were yummy, the croquettes though were a little off. Regardless it was a good meal, and if you are in these terminals Gilbert's is probably your best bet for a good one. I would like to say though, the ladies (and I wish I had gotten their names) who were manning the bakery were especially good. They quickly got our large order prepared and all the while listened patiently to me and my family gripe about what Delta had done to us. They didn't have to do that and they were especially nice and made sure we got the most bang for our buck for the pathetic $15 voucher Delta gave to us for their mistake.

Bob P.

Yelp
I decided to try their cafe con leche (latte) because other Yelp reviews said it was really good. It was quite tasty so I'll give it 2 stars- however, I ended up having explosive watery diarrhea (x3) approximately 4-5 hours later. I was struggling to hold it in while ubering back home, and it was a terrible experience. I am positive the latte was the culprit because I did not have anything else to eat or drink during this time frame. Buyer beware.

A S.

Yelp
One of the grossest things I've ever eaten. I would only eat this if I were dying of hunger. Just disgusting do not order the bulgur chickpea wrap what a horrible combination for sandwich. I am now going to get a Pizza to wash the taste out. Also ordered a chocolate croissant... the lady behind the counter stuck it into the oven because it was 'very cold' .. more like 'very stale' ... so dishonest. Wanted to eat it later on the plane, why would they heat it up other than to cover up how old it was. AVOID this place at all costs. Bad food, and dishonest service, not to mention grumpy non-English speaking workers who clearly don't want to be there. Note to owner: you need to overhaul menu, practices behind the counter, and bad employee attitude. Look at your 2 star average

Cassie P.

Yelp
If you find yourself around Terminal J early in the morning, options are few and far between. Upon exiting security, you'll run into the food court and can choose between McDonald's, a coffee stand, and Gilbert's. While Gilbert's isn't as solid as Versailles which you can find in the other terminals, it gets the job done for breakfast. They have a lot of options from croquetas and pastelitos, to sandwiches and tortilla. My last visit, I kept it simple and ordered a Cuban tostada. It was perfectly made and hit the spot. I mean, bread and butter... What could go wrong? They also have a lot of coffee options, so if you want Cuban coffee, it's a good bet. I found the ladies working here to be super friendly so early in the morning! They were quick and handled the crowd with ease. Best food you're going to find? No, but gets the job done if you know what to get.

Joel M.

Yelp
Placed order and was told to wait 15 mins for text to pick up. After 30 mins, I just asked where the order was. They didn't give me order nor receipt. Over an hour later still no text to pick up but card was charged. I got nothing for my money.

Manda Bear B.

Yelp
Terrible service! They speak Spanish and ignored customers. I understand that 75% of Miami-Dale locals are Hispanic. But you should treat your customers with some respect and cared about what you do! Their sandwiches display looks inedible. I ordered a chicken soup instead. They packed it poorly that it spilled all over my bag. See my photo. Do not come here, there's other nice places that appreciate your business.

Estelle S.

Yelp
I had the rum cake which was really good, wish I had gotten a picture. The service was fast especially given how busy it was during holiday travel

Celeste F.

Yelp
For being an airport business, this place is great. I had an empanada de carne, croquetas de jamón, chicken sandwich, sandwich cubano, sopa de pollo y jugos. TODO DELICIOSO!!! So, all these people complaining... I don't know, I think sometimes people are miserable and they want to spread that around them. The food was awesome and the service was even better. So glad I found this place at the airport!

Nicole L.

Yelp
I bought a chicken wrap for the plane. They display two halves of the sandwich in a paper tray but then when I bought it, the girl takes one half out, puts it in another paper container with no saran wrap at all and sticks it in a paper bag. Who does that? They do. So whatever - but then the sandwich was soggy and awful and when I opened it up to get rid of some of the lettuce, I noticed how black the lettuce was. See pic. Just an all round gross sandwich!

Tyler W.

Yelp
Change the opening time from 4:30 to 5 don't get my hopes up thinking your open when your not. 30 minutes is the difference of me getting on a flight pissed or not because I haven't ate. But don't show on the website that your open at 4:30 when that's when the worker starts getting ready.

Moshe K.

Yelp
Excellent, friendly service plus really great empanadas. We also enjoyed the fresh guava juice. A wonderful surprise to experience such a welcoming, family atmosphere at an airport food court. Well done!

Nik L.

Yelp
After hanging in the airport for a couple of hours, it was time for lunch. I wanted a sandwich of some sort, that was pretty basic. Often time, pre-made sandwiches will have ingredients that I do not want. Food: Gilbert's met my needs with a basic ham sandwich with cheese. Not just one cheese, but 3!. No condiments, no veggies, nothing other than meet and cheese with bread. Which was what I was seeking. Broccoli cheese soup was OK, nothing special and reminded me of cheese sauce watered down. Customer service: Figuring how to order was confusing because it was hard to tell who was going to take my order. One lady was hanging around and seemed that she was not taking orders. Two employees were making espresso for one person. After waiting for about 3 minutes an employee came from the back and saw me. She looked exasperated that her coworkers had not helped me and came to immediately help me. She even explained that my soup would take 5 minutes to be ready showing me that she was considerate of my time in the busy Miami airport. Had they provided a more streamlined experience to ordering food and been ready to help me while I was standing waiting to be helped, this 3 star review would had been upped to 4 stars.

Kristin S.

Yelp
Vanilla latte is pretty good. It is very sweet so if you aren't a fan of coffee tasting that sweet you might not like it. Cappuccino is pretty good as well. They out cinnamon and sugar on it if you want.

Brittany V.

Yelp
Quality airport food. I especially liked that this location is located outside of the terminal area so you can grab some food while waiting for a flight to arrive or for your ride to come. I got the Ham and cheese French toast and sat in the cafe area for about two hours and didn't have any trouble. The staff were super friendly and even cleared my trash after a while. Highly recommend this place over my alternative which was waiting in baggage claim for hours!

Maria R.

Yelp
Terrible experience, never going back and absolutely don't recommend this place. My fiancé and I went for some coffee, while he was waiting for the coffee, I removed my mask for a minute and the supervisor or waiter yelled at me for having the mask removed, I understood and put it back. Few minutes later, while we were drinking the coffee at the table, he yelled me back for having the mask down with a horrible attitude. I respectfully asked him if I was not allowed to drink coffee there, since I wasn't sure about the store requirements. He reacted very angrily and started yelling more and treating us like delinquents. We totally understand and obey the safety rules, but we don't agree with the person actitud and disrespectful behavior. If you are not able to treat your customers kindly, even when asking for rules observation, then this is not the right job for you!

Blue A.

Yelp
Starving. Early morning. On the first leg of a 15 hour trip....and this was one of the only places open. Don't get me wrong, I was pretty stoked to have some Cuban food....but it was just meh. Cuban sandwich - super small. It was reminiscent of a sandwich you'd get at a gasstation. A little better than I imagine those would be...but not by much. 4 pastelitos de guava - I thought these would be full size. Wrong. These were mini. Luckily my family turned down the ones I brought to share with them so I was able to scarf down all 4. They were ok. A little doughy (uncooked) which made them chewier than I am used to - but they weren't horrible. This was $13. I get it's the airport - but damn for 4 mini pastelitos and a sad sandwich...which was also pretty small....that's a lot. The staff was just as disappointing as the food. I understand that you were just opening up - but they ignored me for most of the time I hung out at the counter and then had to ask me twice what I ordered again. There was no one else around, how can you forget a simple order? They were more interested in chatting with each other it seemed. Even when I asked them a question - it was a very simple answer. No energy, no personality - no bueno. I don't think I'll ever stop in again to grab a bite when traveling out of MIA.

Walter B.

Yelp
The Cuban sandwich was bland ham with not a whole lot of flavor. Add to that the sandwich just fell apart in the box I ended up just eating the meat with a knife and fork. It all looks appetizing but at least the Cuban sandwich is not worth the money.

Ksenia K.

Yelp
Disgusting food, terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and go around the corner to McDonalds.

Nikki B.

Yelp
I looked them up on Yelp, called to see if they had key lime pie. The girl couldn't understand me handed the phone to someone else who barely understood me and answered "yes" she never bothered to ask if we knew it was inside the airport. The YELP link to their address shows it's under a bridge by the airport. It was fun.

Gabrièle G.

Yelp
4 "airport food" stars - the ham and cheese quiche is really tasty and a great value for the cost (less than $5). They also have tasty Cuban coffee. If you need breakfast in terminal H, this is a good option.

Andrea P.

Yelp
The manager of this place has the worst customer service. He needs an urgent training on how to talk to customers. The picture of his badge was because in a really bad manner he told me to do a complain about him. But after I took the picture I request a number to call, and his answer was "go and find it in the internet". All this was just because they did not have change to give me and I suggest that it is they responsibility to keep change. I can understand you can ram out of singles, but there are ways to explain the situation. Of course he did not choose the best way, saying to me he will not talk to me. On the other hand one ladies try to keep it calm to him. Hope the owner can take care of him. He's not good for to take the rol of manager. Probably he will work ok in the kitchen where are not customers there.

Kathy K.

Yelp
Outstanding service!!!! My husband was flying his last flight with American Airlines from Miami back to LAX. As a surprise I wanted to get him a cake, big enough to share with his crew members. I called Gilbert's Bakery and not only did they make a beautiful cake for me that morning, but they delivered it to the gate where the plane was departing from. Since I wasn't at the gate yet to receive the cake, they made sure the Gate Agent knew it was a surprise for the Captain of the flight. Gilbert's then sent me a text letting me know the cake was delivered, the agent and crew knew it was a surprise and they hide the cake in the airplane where my husband wouldn't see it until we got there. He was stunned that I had gotten the cake to the plane without him knowing about it. Thank you again Gilbert's Bakery, for making my husband's retirement flight that much more special.

Casey M.

Yelp
I must have waited in line for 20 minutes to buy a bottled soda and pre made cheese plate. It takes so long to make each customer a coffee. They are super chummy with the pilots and flight staff and let them cut in line ahead of you to make them their specials.

Jin N.

Yelp
I never guessed that this spot at an airport terminal would actually taste good. I figured since there's so much Argentian/Cuban influence out in Miami, it's worth a shot. The cheese pastillo was good, the ham croquette was also delicious. Meat pie was also good as well. I'd definitely eat here again when I'm at the airport.

James B.

Yelp
I really wanted to give this place a higher rating, but I can't. The service was good but the food wasn't good at all. I ordered 2 croquetas & it tasted like straight flour & h2o, barely any ham inside. It was not cooked all the way. The empanadas were worse, maybe its cause I am used to having them a different way but the meat had no flavour, it was SUPER bland. The coffee was good but other than that, I will choose to stay away.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Cuban coffee! Need I say more? If you are on the South terminal at the airport this is your place to get good Cuban coffee outside of TSA. I have not had the pastries so I can't comment on that. The warm stuff you have to make sure that it is hot before you leave. Numerous times my warm papa rellena was ice cold even after being heated.

Assaf G.

Yelp
Stay away! We bought a strawbery pie. Strawberies were couple days old. Asked to return it, the guy took it, tried, said "its fine" and kept it for himself. No money back, no other pie in exchange, no original bad pie. We left empty handed. We can debate the quality, but why would u still our pie...

Juan T.

Yelp
Well well well what a surprise. Again a bakery that runs out of pastries. This has happened so many times I list count. How can they run out of pastries. They need to hire a better manager. They are getting ridiculous. Well they just made money to la Carrera cause that's where I'm heading.....unbelievable. This was the one at J at the main terminal. Before the checkpoints. No pastelitos de carne....

Gina V.

Yelp
Don't waste your hard earned money. No filling in their pastries and the breading is stale! I went back and asked for another and was told they're all like that. They must be use to people complaining. Anyway what do they care, good chance you'll be boarding a flight so by the time you see what you got you'll be gone and they don't have to deal with you.

Edelmira A.

Yelp
The best cortadito in Miami, terminal j, prepaid in the morning for the manager, great attention for the staff . Thanks so much. If you want to take a great coffe go to outside terminal j, before check point.

Mark V.

Yelp
This bakery is located in the food court between Terminals J and H. I was super surprised to find food here that was so tasty. We ordered Chicken Empanadas and Spinach Quiche. I cannot express how good these are. Tell them to make it very hot. This is 5 star food. I wish I could take the business to my town. Awesome Yum!!!

Helio C.

Yelp
Worst place i ever been to... Two ladies that work at the one located at terminal J were extremely rude. Bad service, bad quality, rude people... Do not go to this awful place

Allyson R.

Yelp
I'm glad I stopped by! The food was a treat, and the ladies at the restaurant were a delight! Be sure to grab a meal here- you'll be happy you did!

Frank T.

Yelp
Just had the worst chicken croquetas and ham and cheese sandwich. Dripping in grease. Gilberts is well known for their croquettas, but these must have been fried twice. When I told the employees they didn't say a word, they just nodded their heads. Stay away from this airport restaurant.

Annie B.

Yelp
Good Cuban coffee in terminal J/H. Get the cortadito with sugar. Plus the ham croquettas were toasty and the ladies at the counter were really friendly. By airport standards this place is great- especially if you are craving yummy Cuban food and La Carreta is in a different terminal.

Wendy H.

Yelp
I have not had coffee anywhere close to this quality since I left Italy 10 years ago. The Cortadito is AMAZING, Sooo good. The cashier described it to me as "the whiskey of coffee", and she was right, so strong, yet so smooth. I am a new fan of Cuban coffee! As a side note, the salad Nicoise was also very good, cold and refreshing!
