Pete Buttigieg Endorses Joe Biden at West Dallas Fried Chicken Restaurant | Eater Dallas

"A Dallas music venue, Gilley’s hosted Biden’s massive rally after the stop at Chicken Scratch, where he secured endorsements from fellow (former) presidential contenders Beto O’Rourke and Amy Klobuchar ahead of Texas’s Democratic primary." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Great place with numerous venues! Large dance floors, great bands and events. All the wait staff are always exceptional and your glasses are never empty and no long waits for services!

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable private event at Gilley's! We had the entire space reserved for a private party during our conference, and it was such a blast! From the mechanical bull (yes, we rode it!) to the multiple bar options, the lively dance floor with line dancing lessons, and an awesome live band—everything came together to create a truly memorable night. It was the perfect mix of networking and fun. Gilley's delivered an authentic Texas experience, and I’d absolutely recommend it for any large group event or party!

Google
This is a bar with a stage and dance floor where events are held, often tied to conferences at the Omni. You can walk here from the convention center in about 10 minutes or so,

Google
Great place to host an event. Very spacious and ascetically pleasing venue. Plenty of parking. Clean and well kept restrooms. Employees/staff and security were very polite and accommodating. Mike Sanchez, Event Coordinator/Manager was very helpful and generous with his time. Showed us a quick tour and made us feel welcome. Thank you for making our time there memorable. Much prayer and success to your future endeavors! OCCASION: Corporate Event TIME FRAME: Evening HOSPITALITY: 5 ATMOSPHERE: 5 CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5

Google
Such a fun night! Partner.co took over the venue and did not disappoint! Great place!

Google
Great venue for hosting events...but the food options and food was not satisfactory and very costly! Plus cash-only...who does that in 2025?!?

Google
This was an awesome venue for a concert my gf and I went to. Huge insight area, side was good, it can do better reaching the rear crowd though. There aren't TVs/screens here for the crowd in the rear or shorter people either. Otherwise everything about this place was easy to access and overall liked it! I wouldn't mind going here again

Google
We have our Christmas party there every year. Great staff. Always friendly and attentive. I don't know how difficult it is to deal with a bunch of hungry construction workers barreling through, but the staff does a great job.

Yelp
Social Dallas - the best worship service ever on yesterday! The location is perfect for events. The area was safe and covered with security. Lots of convenient places in the area near by. I had a blast as it was my 1st time there. Parking was tight but I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
I've been to Gilley's a few times for corporate events. The venue is massive and can fit a lot of people. They have many different rooms, but most if not all gave off the rustic/farmhouse vibe. I love that they have 2 outdoor areas (lower level and upper level) with fire pits! The upstairs of the venue has a cute little speakeasy vibe (you walk into the room through a doorway hidden behind the bookcase). The main floor has a large stage, and plenty of room for events.

Yelp
Beautiful experiences with awesome friends. Fun fun fun Entertainment Music here was awesome, jam packed parking be aware of that.

Yelp
Had a wild night at Gilley's. This type of place is definitely not my typical hang out, but while visiting falls for a conference, they rented the space out for a night and it was a blast. The interior is this spot is subdivided into multiple bars, with different bands, different events going on in each. Some had a band, karaoke in others, silent disco in one, just lots to take in, with multiple bars in each spot, to keep the drinks flowing, and food being served. Had a great time! Would absolutely return for another event!

Yelp
Lovely venue, spacious, clean restrooms and great lighting. I attended the annual Slay magazine fashion show. Doors opened at 4:30p.m. which they continued seating guest until 6:00p.m. I was under the impression the show began at 4:30p.m. due to the ticket stating show times 4:30pm-8:30pm. It would have been nice if the ticket read Doors opening at 4:30p.m. show beginning at 6:00p.m. That way guest weren't sitting for an hour and a half before the show started. Plenty of designers, beautiful models & host talented makeup artist & hairstylist. I enjoyed the show minus the door being opened all night. It was colder than the north pole in the venue. Lol

Yelp
The food was tasty and the decor was cute. The area was spacious, especially after they erected an extra buffet tent on the parking lot. These must be the reasons why this location was chosen for a party for a convention I had in Dallas. The group was so large that the bus transportation caused a huge traffic jam on the way to the event. My daughter was on one of the last buses to arrive at the event. She was the buffet line with over 100 people when they suddenly shut down the buffet before serving those that remained in line.. After sitting in traffic on the bus and making it to the buffet line and waiting patiently, nothing could've been more discouraging than to see it shut down while they were all standing there hungry . To make matters worse, the staff made it clear that they were throwing the food away rather than let the remaining guests eat. Sounds like a biblical parable, doesn't it? The only lesson to be learned here is do not go to Gillies. The servers are subhuman and do not care about the guests. Yes it was a large crowd and every other restaurant we visited during our time there was overwhelmed. But the others were graciously apologetic and provided excellent service. Not at Gilley',s. The service ranged from mediocre to maddening. Everywhere we ate in Dallas, the food was delicious. The service was great and everyone was very pleasant, everywhere except Gilley's

Yelp
No one picked up the phone to answer my questions so I ended up having to attend the concert with an injured leg. I asked to upgrade my ticket but they didn't allow it and simply got me a chair and put me in the back. I couldn't even see the concert that well because of a large pole. Security refused to move me but they did move the person next to me. I already struggle to see so my vision was even worse. This is currently my view at the Eric Nam concert. I couldn't even get any decent photos. The people that kept coming up to stand next to me kept moving away because their view was also obstructed. I was provided with a wooden chair so I can't really move without almost falling. I already approached 4 security guards and they all said they can't do anything.

Yelp
Such a great time!! Conference attendees came here for our final event!! It was a cowboy honky tonk!! OMGOSHHH! The tapas plates, hella drinks, the sketch artist, the music, the duleing pianos, the people who were walking around and stayed in character the Entire time! It was such an amazing and beautiful experience and time here! I even got "branded" lol. There was a branding station for initials and names into leather cup holders and key holders. There is also a mechnical bull outfront. The bull took me out twice lol Someone invite me back for a wedding or something cuz I loved this place! lol

Yelp
Gilly's is pretty good venue that features multiple large spaces for different activities and concerts to take place at the same time. The parking lot behind the venue is large and seems to cost $10 on average to park. I have been to Gilly's a few times for a different events including Art Beats and Lyrics, Afro Soca Love, and Civilized Fest. The space is perfect for live music and vendor events. The outdoor lot at the entrance of the venue is also good for outdoor activities, i.e. food trucks to gather for events as well. The sound system is pretty good and when there are multiple functions happening there simultaneously, you don't hear music/sound from the neighboring events which is nice. My only complaint is that there are multiple entrances here so it is easy to go to the wrong entrance when there's no signage or someone directing traffic to the correct entrance. That may be on the part of the promoter and not the venue, but it has been an issue every time I've come here, and I know I'm not the only one.

Yelp
I was at this venue back in May to see Snow Tha Product, a Hispanic singer/rapper. That night, she wasn't allowed to sell her merch, she was forced to start her show late, refused to let her stage dive & crowd surf and the venue was then cutting the rest of her show by having one of their own sound guys push Snow's out of the way and turning everything off. She called him, and Gilley's, out in front of the ENTIRE sold out crowd!! I went to see LANY at this same venue last night, an all white band. Not only was he allowed to sell his merch, but y'all had a "Merch Hold" area for concert-goers who didn't want to carry all their items during the event. Y'all allowed him to have him on stage at a proper time and the sound was never compromised. Why is it that y'all try to hold down someone of color, but allow freedom to someone who isn't? I'm white and even I know that that's bullshit. Y'all should be ashamed for making your own rules based on one's ethnicity. Pathetic

Yelp
We had our big annual corporate event at Gilleys and it did NOT dissapoint. Such a cool location with exposed brick, open cielings, hanging lights and disco ball. Plus the staff was ON POINT. Any question we had, they had an answer and they made us feel taken care of. Big shout out to the AV team! Thank you all!

Yelp
Fantastic venue for a Wedding Kickoff! Rehearsal dinner served buffet style for 120...and continued into a Welcome Party. The Loft is the upper level of Gilley's with large patio with great view of downtown Dallas. All food was from their in house caterers. It was very good . Tons of TVs around the venue displayed our video of pictures of the a bride and groom over the years. All in all just a great experience!

Yelp
We rented this awesome place for a company function and we're able to get the entire top floor rented from 6-9 on a Wed. We were able to have an open bar, live music, line dancing lessons and even a mechanical bull with an operator! My group had so much fun! I would defiantly recommend this place for company functions that you are trying make fun! Great job Gilleys!

Yelp
Came here for a large MRI Centers gathering and I was so impressed with the size of the venue. This isn't a side of town I get to see a lot and I'm always so blown away with the options over here.

Yelp
Great fun place!! We had a private party here and it was awesome! The dance instructors were great and the mechanical bull was so much fun!

Yelp
I've been to Gilley's a couple of times, as I attended World of Dance which was hosted here in 2018 & 2019. It's a great, spacious venue for events! I honestly feel WOD could have utilized it a lot better. If I'm not mistaken, this is now home to the new Hillsong Dallas Church location. Cool! Inside and out, seems like a good idea. There is plenty of parking and the right decor can turn this place into whatever you want it to be. I might go and visit the church since I know how to get there already haha.

Yelp
We had a blast here for a private event. The food was amazing and so was the entertainment. You definitely need to stop by here when visiting Dallas.

Yelp
Our daughters pre-school had a party here. The school has an auction to raise money for the school. They couldn't have picked a better location. Food was delicious, staff friendly and the venue, perfect. It was nice relaxing outside in the porch, enjoying good company with a perfect view of Dallas skyline at night. Inside had a good layout, with a stage where the country band played as we enjoyed BBQ and drinks. Frankly, I'm sorry reprise this place is not rated higher on yelp. What's up with that yelpers?!?! Anyway, great venue for whatever party your organization wants to have.

Yelp
Arts Beats and Lyrics Yoooooo! AB&L is back in Dallas. This is a long standing traveling art show with a beat since 2005. That's so wild to think it been going so long. I don't always get the opportunity to show up but this year all the stars were aligned. Located at the Famous Gilley's- Dallas location was the perfect space of model installments of art. I've helped putting in art pieces so you need to fill in the negative spaces with light and create a mood. The music bring you right along to the party. As you enter the building you get the one drink ticket and well wishes to party. Now, it really does pay to get there ON TIME! The Jack Daniels reps are more lax and you get a couple of extras compared to it being packed within the next hour. Of course you can pay for more drinks. The thing that I did like is the bartenders were generous with pours. They had several choices to try and the recipes were simple to let the liquor to shine through. I only needed one drink. The art was amazing. You had insightful, intriguing, call backs to Hip Hop's past and some futuristic pieces. I know I didn't see everything because as the time went on the crowd swelled. The DJ's stayed on point and only asked that you leave your cool at the door, and DANCE! We did.

Yelp
I Deejayed a Company Holiday Party in the Brazos Room. First time here, the older man working the Front Desk was very friendly and helpful on directing me to the Brazos Room. I was then met by the Venue Director Alexis, she asked me if I had everything I needed or she could get someone to assist me. We had parked in the Main Area which was quite a distance for me to unload and bring my equipment in. One of the other assistants told me to pull around to the valet door area for Brazos and unload, which made it so much easier. Party begins, the wait staff brought around appetizers that were just very tasty and different from other venues and events I have attended. Had Miniature Style Biscuit Ham and Cheeses, Chicken and Waffle Bites. The main dinner was buffet style. Chicken Quesadillas, Pasta and Macaroni Station with toppings very good, Yeast Rolls and Roast Beef which was very tender, also had some very delicious Crostini's with roast beef and spinach I believe. For dessert was Peach Cobble with scoops of ice cream. The gentleman that worked the drink and dessert station. Tomorus (excuse the misspelling) was very helpful through the night when he was not busy serving the other guests. The Bar was busy and He seemed friendly, since I do not drink while Dee Jaying, I just observed every so often. The security and valet staff was great at closing.

Yelp
I have had nothing but a wonderful experience with this venue. I started looking into venues for our company holiday party back in June/July of this year since last year we started looking too late. I got in touch with Dena and she worked her magic- by August we were booked! We chose the loft space upstairs for our event which was VERY reasonably priced for how large the space was. We had a very large interior area and a patio balcony with a fabulous view! and when I saw fabulous im not kidding. HUGE selling point. Dena was there every step of the way and extremely diligent and knowledgeable. I truly appreciated this as she made the process go very smoothly- which is easier said than done. She met with my team and myself twice before the event so we could discuss the space. She even gave us a floor plan closer to the event which made the space come alive. I would also like to mention that they have redone the loft which really added to the experience. We were able to get to the venue several hours before the event and started setting up which was very nice. We booked the DJ and Photobooth through the venue. The DJ really lacked, but I think that was just the luck of the draw. The photobooth however was fabulous! The quality was really great- it was more than double what we paid in previous years at other venues. They made it very easy to stream these photos to all the TVs in the room as well- really nice touch! We chose to have the freestanding open photobooth - same price, which was very nice. And it gave others a chance to jump into the photos. We also were able to get some games for our team to play on the patio. We chose to go with oversized jenga, and cornhole. Really unique feature our party loved. Food was nothing to write home about but not terrible. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Shoutout to Marisol for being great! The bartender was very nice and friendly. They also didnt put out a tip jar which i think was nice- it didnt make our employees feel compelled to tip after we paid an arm and a leg for open bar already. I imagine they were compensated well. They took down all our decorations we no longer needed at the end of the night which was much appreicated after the bar and all the efforts put into decorating all day. They even stored a couple items for us to pick up after which we truly appreciated. I would highly recommend this venue. The only downside I feel is that with our 60 people we felt small in this huge place. Otherwise it was fab. Go with this venue!

Yelp
Huge , and great event space. I came here for the Jack Daniels Art, Beats, and Lyrics event. There were about 3-4 bar areas around the venue. Prices aren't as expensive as I would've thought when going to and event place. Parking was $5 that night, I wasn't sure if that's the norm or it depends on who is in the venue.
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
Came here for a company function. If I had to pay for this meal, it would have scored even lower. The prime rib was dry and salty. The red potatoes were overly salted too. The brownies for dessert was dry and tasteless.

Kyle M.

Yelp
The valet service at Gilly's searched my truck and stole my AirPods out of the center console. have tried to get in contact with Gilly's half a dozen time and cannot get a call back.
google avatar

Yelp
How can there only be two reviews of Gilley's?? Is Dallas so self-absorbed that admitting you've been here would be a social faux pas? Only tourists allowed? Ok, I wasn't here to hang out either. I was here because I was actually playing a gig. And uttering the phrase "I've got a gig at Gilley's" was NOT something that I ever thought would come out of my mouth. "Got a gig at Reunion Arena", "Got a gig at the knife and gun club", "Got a gig at the heavy metal bar with the strip club next door" were all valid possibilities. But not "Got a gig at Gilley's." Nonetheless, there I was. And they didn't even force me to play country tunes. One way to measure a great club is by the quality of their staff, and arguably the turnover. I talked to three people who had been working there for years, and the house sound guy has been working there since they opened. That tells me that they treat their people very well, as do the patrons. (Ok, it could mean that they have no life or imagination, but I'm betting on the former.) Lots of different rooms, lots of places to go. I was working, so admittedly I'm not seeing this through the starry eyes of a tourist or the jaded eyes of a local, but I was impressed with the flow, the activities (yes, they still pull out a mechanical bull) and the service. Would I go back as a patron? Nah....been there, done that. Besides, I ain't no urban cowboy. But you should go. Honest.

Yelp
Nice huge venue! When we arrived here for an event, it didn't look very big. I was thinking to myself, 'How are they going to fit everyone inside?' When you go in you'll find plenty of space to accommodate large groups. There are several different rooms. One has a stage for a band, others have bar areas with plenty of seating. It's decorated in 'Texas' style with a cowboy feel. It didn't even surprise me when I saw the mechanical bull outside on one of the patio areas. It did surprise me to see people riding it since everyone was dressed for a gala. Very entertaining! The valet service was absolutely fantastic. Talk about people running around to pick up and also deliver their vehicles. The staff were all friendly in true Texas charm. It was a fun venue and I was happy to enjoy it!

Yelp
I saw an amazing performance by Little Dragon here this past Saturday. The sound was great and I had a fun time but none of that was due to the venue itself. Being my first time to Gilley's, I didn't know the routine of how to pick up tickets and what not. There were 3 different lines and you had no idea which was which without wandering around to get the gist. Otherwise you could find yourself waiting in a long line for no reason at all. I had ordered tickets online and picked them up at will call which only had a line of about 8 people. The other two lines, presumably for ticket holders and people waiting to buy tickets, were at least 50-75 people long. Thanks to Shay's review, I already knew the beer prices were astronomical, but we Oklahomans just aren't used to $11 PBR cans, even if they are 24 ounces. Skip the drinks here and go to one of the local bars to drink beforehand. Also, if you don't like standing, this venue will not be your friend. Luckily, we were able to hop up on one of the bars that wasn't open and enjoy the show from there. Overall unimpressive but Little Dragon killed it and that's all I really cared about!

Yelp
Kathy at the door was very rude and unprofessional, when we asked her for help finding our location all she could say was "these are private events there is nothing going on here" we were their for a privaTe event and she couldn't tell us where it was. She did the same thing to another couple who walked al the way to the far side of the parking lot and then walked all the way back because she game bad directions. She was more interested in feeling powerful turning people away then trying to help or give suggestions. She then started texting her coworker when I asked her for her name....definitely not the greeter you're looking for, she'd do better as a prison guard.

Yelp
Interesting buffet.... like it isn't a buffet like Golden Corral or the mass chain buffets. It is like a little area with multiple food choices. I have only been to BBQ day so I can't speak to the other theme days. The meat was ok, the sauce was good but the coleslaw was great- creamy just like I like it. The place is definitely worthy of another trip on a different day to see what else they have. The "smoking gun" outside is cute and the servers were nice and friendly. The manager was very willing to help when I asked for a bowl for my sauce.

Yelp
Good place to see good music. We were in the South Side Music Hall part to see Rancid. The beer is a wee bit pricy. $11 for a big Bud Lite? Come on. So we drank good beer before the show out in the parking lot. I will say the audio wasn't mixed great. First band we saw lost a lot of the guitar and Rancid was a bit mottled. Then again this was a punk band so who knows. It was good to see them and get them off my bucket list for bands. I'm sure if other good shows come, I will be here again.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
The venue was actually nice, it was the service that was horrible. The service side of the house I did not like. Went their on a Friday night for a concert and there was nowhere near enough bartenders on hand. Waited in a beer line for over 30 minutes before I finally just walked away. The bartenders were also slow and did not seem like they were used to working in fast paced environments. I watched lines collapse and people rush the bar out of frustration. Just not a fun experience for a really great venue. Please staff better in the future. It's the first concert I have ever been to that the beer buying experience was this bad.

Yelp
Came here for the Big Dram tour last night. For the openers the sound was awful (beat to vocal balance was way off) and they didn't even turn off any lights for the openers. For the main artist towards the end the vocals stopped working so it felt like he had to end the concert early. Also 'double' wells drink is 16 dollars so drink ahead of time. But the worst part, and the reason for 1 star, is that they do not give free water at the bar. If you ask they say there are water fountains that security will help you find. When you ask security they say we don't have water fountains. I don't know if this is illegal but it should be. At the very least its unethical as fuck. Shout out to the venues that have buckets of free water around the bar and don't try to exploit those that get a lil thirsty getting their dance on.

Yelp
Paid vip to see Pooh shiesty and waiting till 12 to tell us he missed his flight. Place defiantly needs better communication skills we all were standing in the crowd in silence because no one knew what was going on

Yelp
Was amazing!! Food was so good! I caved and had the best brisket and drinks! Band was loud, live and so good! Bathrooms clean nice, had a mechanical bull and a real bull! Loved all the bar side tables, played pool and darts and so many other games! Lives the different rooms . Each had a great service . The service was amazing. Line dancing was so good and fun. That was a memorable experience

Yelp
I've been to Gilley's on several occasions for different events. It's always a good experience. It's an open space with plenty of parking and other things nearby to do. Prices are reasonable and it's a safe venue that attracts a very diverse crowd.

W R.

Yelp
Terrible location for any event. The space is old, dark, and dingy. Terribly ugly outside as well. Few interesting things in the neighborhood. During the event, they wouldn't even let you bring a coffee from outside. Very inconvenient and it as a miserable experience.

Was here for a work event about a week ago. Super fun place. Great band. When back in the area I will definitely visit again.

Yelp
I was my first time going here (the only other country western place I've gone to was Red River) and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I went on a Saturday night and apparently it's free if you get in before 8 (not sure, might want to check first). So the group I went with thought we'd be all sneaky and get there right before 8 and skip the cover charge. We pulled into the parking lot right behind the place at 7:50 but this suspious looking parking lot attendent runs up to us and throws a orange piece of paper into our car on the dashboard and asks for $5. We asked if there was any free parking available and he said yes, just right down the street. Do not listen to the slightly stoned parking lot attendent - there is no parking anywhere else, only signs that featured the universal picture for a towing truck. By the time we made our way back to the lot, paid, and parked, it was 8:10 - needless to say we missed the "no - cover" and had to fork up $12 for general admissions (not bad though). The place itself had 3 bars (I believe) and a modest sized square dance floor (I thought they were usually an oval but I guess not). The floor shunk considerable around 11 when the place got completely packed. (It started getting pretty crowded around 10). Really good live music! We saw Casey Donahew Band - I had never heard of them before but am now a fan. I'm underaged so I didn't get any drinks but they're cheaper before 10. I saw a little woman and man walking around with a rolly suitcase. I thought it was pretty strange until I went to the bathroom and realized they were bathroom attendents (too upscale for Gilley's in my opinion). The patrons were, for the most part, a mixed crowd. When we first got there at 8 there were only older couples (I'm talking late 60s, early 70s) but the early 20s crowd began piling in around 10 and made up the majority. There were some kids who had to have been 16 at the most, struggling to pass as 18. People were overall friendly and you will get asked to dance - just have to look like you're having a good time and want to. Most interesting patron of the night - a middle aged gentleman with a black rinestoned shirt, bright red pointed boots with silver studs, cowboy hat, cigarette sticking out of the side of his mouth, complete with an eye patch. Can you say Yee-Haw?

Yelp
Gilley's is near my work, so we often go for lunch. I gave it three stars because some things are good and others are not. Their pot roast is like mom's...can't go wrong. Their hot wings are excellent....I mean to the point that you are shocked how good they are. Their hamburgers are good. The two biggest disappointments are the Meican buffet and the BBQ buffet. The quality of the food is below par and it tastes mass produced...it's a buffet what do you expect I know. I just stick to the menu which satisfies. Don't forget they have free roasted peanuts and ice cream cone at the end of the meal.

Yelp
Very bad experience today (Saturday Mar 1st 2014) We left another place just to visit Gilley's Dallas the first time There was a private party that was not announced on website Access to all areas was prohibited Woman from security was TOTALLY unfriendly - get another job! The restaurant was totally dirty - 10pm no food available , excepted on the seats and tables Not one clean table to sit there! Restrooms in restaurant area a mess Never ever again I am a fan of Gilley's Vegas , this Dallas location is a no-go

Yelp
NON-TEXAN REVIEW: I traveled from a very hipster part of a very blue state to visit a friend in Dallas. Gilley's made the itinerary as something huge, fun and marinating in its own Texanity. So yeah, maybe it's for tourists, and no, I won't draw larger conclusions about Texas culture from this one bar. What's left? Cold bottled beer, a big stage with a great sound system (and engineer), a country band that was way too polished to be playing bars, a mechanical bull, and a dance floor packed with two-steppers and contradancing couples. It's like visiting another country! Great vibe in there, everyone was having fun. Maybe the cover could have been lower, but whatever.

Yelp
What a great atmosphere to socialize with friends, coworkers or to attend a concert. I had a work function with an open bar & the bartender was on point. He was fast, knowledgeable & polite. There is also karaoke that made it a fun night. There is open space to cater food or dance. Overall, a great experience! Will be back soon!

Yelp
We just had our wedding at Gilley's Dallas Loft and opted to add on the Bonnie & Clyde add on (speakeasy). The view from the loft was gorgeous and the venue itself was so cool. We could not have had a better experience. The staff was attentive and went above and beyond with making our day beautiful and stress free. The vendors they work with are top notch and it is very affordable for everything you get. We worked with Andrea McMillan and she was so quick to respond and had great attention to detail. She is very talented and we knew we were in good hands as soon as we met her. The staff on the day was amazing from the bar tender, production staff, DJ Matt (DJ's of Dallas), and security. They were so down to earth and helped wherever they could. If you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue--stop your search and book it here. You will not regret it!

Yelp
My experiences at Gilley's have been varied - overall, so far very positive. Note that Gilley's has a variety of event spaces that can be rented (for pretty reasonable prices). In reading the reviews, it seems that some things that people are commenting on are likely done by the people renting the space, instead of Gilley's itself. My first experience was a party that rented multiple spaces. Overall it was a great layout and we enjoyed ourselves. The only downside was the line to get inside; however, I'm 95% sure that it was the organizer's fault (ie: the person who rented the space), and not any of the Gilley's employees. Next experience was lunch in Jack Daniels Saloon. They do a pretty bad job of advertising their restaurant - I literally live walking distance from them and had no idea they were open outside of M-F lunch (which is what the sign references). We decided to try them out one weekend and were pleasantly surprised with the food. It wasn't amazing, but it was better than we expected. After that my fiance's Christmas party was held in one of their event spaces. The party was boring as hell - but that certainly wasn't Gilley's fault. The event ran well, food was decent (the party organizers chose Tex Mex and I really don't like Tex Mex, though it was good for that I guess), staff kept things moving, had some decent beers available (the company used a drink ticket system). We recently just signed a contract to have our wedding in the Loft. I contacted them after getting rave reviews on them from an event planner that I know, who's worked with Gilley's a good bit. I also have a neighbor who went to a wedding of friends there and she said that she asked her friend if there was any drawbacks to holding her wedding there and she said there weren't any. When I saw the Loft and the HUGE balcony overlooking the skyline, I got actual chills. We researched a LOT of other venues and found the Gilley's spaces to be very fairly priced, especially for what you get. The Loft rental price includes tables, chairs, linens, security, sound system, and more. Our event coordinator, Dena, has been extremely nice and helpful and our wedding coordinator was very impressed with the professionalism of our Gilley's contract. We attended an open house, where we were able to taste a variety of menu items, and were pleased. The standouts were the ribs, nutella-stuffed chocolate covered strawberries, and cake balls. Too bad we won't be needing dessert at our wedding with the mass quantities of cake we're ordering! I'll update my review in a year (after the wedding). But for now, I'm very pleased with Gilley's and can't wait to make some lifelong memories there.

Yelp
One word: LAME! We were so excited to come to Gilley's after the Zac Brown Concert to complete the evening and ride a bull. No love for the Urban Cowboy -the mechanical bull is outside and nobody was riding it. So boring. No live music. No dancing NO FUN! Bartenders are a bit sarcastic and lame. It was like we were the outsiders and not welcomed in their space.

Yelp
Went to the Libertarian Rally for Gov. Bill Weld. Bartender Kelly was awesome, just wish we'd had some options for food. Quite peckish afterward. Great place to host an event though for sure.

Yelp
Great venue. I was in town for a conference and the organizers planned a networking social for the location. The space was large enough to offer two separate areas of live music, for very large subgroups from our conference. Plus the other smaller rooms were used too. It was a perfect fit.
