The 9 Best Spots To Eat Near Zilker Park

"The burger at this trailer parked at the nine-hole golf course Butler Pitch & Putt is big, with a double wagyu patty that’s been smashed hard for edge-to-edge crispiness, a couple slices of american cheese, and lots of mustard. It's one of the best burgers in Austin, and you can get it with fried okra, which we find way more fun to eat than a pile of fries. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of putting greens, or you don’t know the difference between a 9-iron and a tennis racket, Gimme Burger is a perfect post-Zilker meal." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs

The 18 Best Burgers In Austin 2024

"Whether you’re a die-hard fan of putting greens or you don’t know the difference between a 9-iron and a tennis racket, Gimme Burger is all the reason you need to head to Butler Pitch & Putt off of Riverside Drive. Located in the food/drink/hangout area, the food truck’s menu is simple—burgers, hot dogs, french fries, and fried okra. The burger here is massive, with a juicy double wagyu patty that’s been smashed hard for edge-to-edge crispiness, a couple slices of american cheese, and lots of mustard. The heaping pile of fried okra you can get on the side makes for an excellent accompaniment. " - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

The Austin Smashburger Power Rankings

"This is a massive burger with a juicy, double wagyu patty that’s been smashed hard for edge-to-edge-crispiness, plus a few requisite slices of american cheese and mustard. The crust is excellent, but the meat is still nice and juicy throughout. It doesn’t feel like it’s relying on gimmicks or any frills—it’s simple and perfectly executed. If you’re willing to spend $14 on a smashburger, just head to Butler Pitch & Putt off Riverside Drive to visit this trailer. And maybe get in a quick round of golf while you’re there.  Your Order: Double Wagyu Gimme Burger ($14). A fancy burger that’s worth its price tag." - nicolai mccrary

Gimme Burger was a quick stop for lunch. Service was very fast which was awesome! Burger was very flavorful but was quite greasy - I’m not the biggest fan of greasy food. The fries were really tasty ! I wish they had a condiment pump as little packets can be very wasteful. Overall, good value for the price but due to greasy burger I would go elsewhere.

An excellent burger and the service was top notch. The burger and fries were cooked just right and the portion sizes are big enough to satisfy and fill you up. It’s cool to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the pitch and putt while you eat. It’s one of the best burgers I’ve had in the city.

Nice place but avoid the food truck. I had an hotdog with fried okra. The hotdog sausage was cooked to death, dark and absolutely dry. Without words. I never had a bad hotdog like these. The okra tased like old oil. Sad I couldn’t eat is and put it in the trash.

Really delicious and crispy smash burger. The fried okra was 10/10. Steve was super friendly and you can tell he loves what he does. Will definitely be back.

Google
Gimme Burger is one of the best burgers in Austin, but the fried okra is THE BEST OKRA YOU WILL EVER HAVE. And, the service from this food truck is better than 80% of the brick-and-mortar restaurants in town; seriously, it’s a refreshing reprieve from the transplant diluted culture of Austin.

Delicious food truck that you can eat while you wait to Golf! I recommend the burger and fries. Fries are nice and crispy. My only suggestion would be to increase condiments like ranch, mayo, bbq. Otherwise, this food truck rocks for price, location and taste!
