These Were Officially The World’s Busiest Flight Routes In 2025

Serving as the Seoul end of the world’s busiest flight route in 2025, this airport is linked with Jeju International on a path that carried about 14.3 million seats over the year. Despite being 17 percent below 2019 levels, the route grew by 1 percent from 2024, highlighting its continued dominance and importance in regional air travel across Asia Pacific. - Liv Kelly

Last month, after sightseeing in Seoul with my family during our summer vacation, we used Gimpo Airport to travel to Jeju Island for a family trip. The airport was spacious and clean, making it easy to get around. There were plenty of convenient facilities such as cafes, restaurants, and rest areas, which made the waiting time enjoyable and not boring at all. The check-in and baggage handling processes were quick, and the staff were friendly and helpful, making the entire experience very pleasan

Gimpo International Airport is located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and was Korea's main international airport until the opening of Incheon International Airport. Due to Seoul's global city strategy, with the opening of Incheon International Airport in April 2001, its international flight functions were reduced, and it now primarily handles domestic flights and some short-haul international routes to East Asian cities such as Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, and Shanghai in China.

Convenient and modern airport experience! Gimpo International Airport is clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Check-in and security were smooth, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes to enjoy while waiting. The airport feels less crowded than larger international airports, making it a stress-free experience. Great for both domestic and short international flights — efficient, comfortable, and convenient!

Unsafe when it comes to implementing safety measures to protect people and especially celebrities entering and exiting the airport. No such thing as special treatment, it’s adapting to the situation at hand and having private entrances and barricades is for their health and safety first and foremost as well as for the fans and paparazzi safety also. Thank you.

***Small but good airport*** One of the main reasons why this airport is so good is that there is an underground path to the Lotte Department Store across the street. Allocate ~10minutes to get there. The airport itself offers only a few restaurants. There is a CU convenience store, pharmacy and a KPOP shop before you enter baggage check. After the immigration there are duty free shops but it is a bit limited in terms of variety and the deals are better with duty free at other establishments outside of the airport. The restroom is on the very far end (left side after you leave the immigration check) which is a small distance from the gates. Allocate ~5minutes. The underground is also connected to the subway which is very convenient to get to the city. The one coffee spot inside PASCUCCI offers what looks like food sandwiches and desserts (I haven’t tried) but the coffee is just average.

Strongly advise boycotting tourism to South Korea. The immigration staff treat foreigners with undisguised contempt, as if their country is the pinnacle of civilisation. Yet for all their supposed superiority, South Korea consistently ranks among the highest in the world for suicide rates.

Unlike the extremely crowded Incheon Airport, this airport only handles short-haul routes, so it is relatively comfortable with less congestion.
