What a local gem on the Upper East Side! I will recommend this spot to all my friends from now on. If you’re heading to a museum nearby, do yourself a favor and stop by this charming Italian spot. We had a fresh, crusty Bianco pizza topped with zucchini and a classic Margherita -both absolutely divine! You can taste the quality in every bite. The ingredients are real, fresh, and thoughtfully paired. What truly set this place apart? 💐 Fresh cut flowers on the table and unique design. 🍨 Homemade gelato that transported me straight to a sunny streets of Rome. 🍷 A wine list that would impress even your most particular sommelier friend. The service? Impeccable. Friendly, fast and they make everyone feel at home, from families to four-legged friends (yes, dogs are welcome there and we saw a bunch of really cute ones!). Bonus points: they keep things fresh with new menu additions - Birch coffee was the latest surprise, and it was perfect. I’ll definitely be back for the food, the atmosphere, and that magical sense of a quick Italian holiday on the UES.

Very tasty and varied food, served quickly. I especially recommend the aperitif because it is plentiful and contains various tastes and smells. The pizzas are like eating them in Italy and from various regions. I recommend the pizza with figs. The staff is very friendly and pleasant, the atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed, the music is quiet and harmonious. with beautiful surroundings and a view that can be seen from the terrace. Any recommendation for this restaurant and we will come again soon. Thank you

Quiet street, excellent food, attentive service, (we had fettuccine and avocado salad) but I was surprised they put auto-gratuity on. That sours the experience if I'm being honest. We are a family of five. A tip should not be built in. Total bill was $215 for 3 adults and 2 kids.

Loved this pink and white Italian restaurant! super-cute lots of outdoor seating with pink umbrellas. has white chairs and pink cushions on the chairs. Inside is the same! beautiful flowers at the bar. spaces and walls full of wine bottles. and upstairs is a little balcony with extra seating and while we were there someone had booked it for a birthday party. They had a neat and clean restroom. The veal picatta was delicious. Meatballs and margarita pizza delicious. I highly recommend.

Service is good. Food is cold. I ordered lasagna, and it was cold in the middle, so it’s definitely not fresh. I don’t like paying so much for a reheated food. Also, the restroom is a disaster - flushing didn’t work and the sink water had low pressure and it was boiling hot

When we came in it was completely empty inside and the service wasn't super friendly, so we didn't have the highest expectations, but the decor was cute! Prices were high but the food was absolutely delightful!!! We had the pizza bianca and it was so tasty

Went there for my birthday and Ariel and Alex were gems!!!! Not to mention the chef, Esteban, he did his big one! Everything from the kitchen was my delicious to say the very least! 10 outta 10 for sure! ❤️

This place is the breath of fresh air your meal needed. We were greeted with delicious warm bread that starts the meal and conversations off great. The Margarita pizza was tender and crisp and the special included a black squid ink pasta which was the hit. With its bright bedroom feel decor, every seat is inviting at this location. Large windows and cushioned seating reels you into the setting. This place also makes amazing mojitos, so be sure to add your list of brunch spots.

I think the three star rating this place has is about right. Pros - very solid outdoor seating - servers were nice - big menu with lots of pizza and pasta options Cons - honestly the bolognese I had just wasn't very good, the pasta was undercooked (a tad crunchy) and the sauce was lacking in flavor. - they ran out of a few pastas (incl. gnocchi) which is frustrating considering we went before dinner service.

First the food was average, definitely not worth the time or money. The potions are extremely tiny they skimp on everything. All the food was poorly plated and jsut thrown onto the plate. Service was fine, but waiter forgot our check for 10 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND

My cousin and I weren't super hungry so we stopped in here for the soup. We didn't get anything else, so this review is specifically to warn everyone: do not get the soup. Their pizza and salads may be good, but both the chicken and minestrone soups taste like unseasoned dish water and are as far from authentic Italian flavors as you could get. The minestrone was also, inexplicably, 99% cabbage. No soup for you.

Delicious pizza and pastas and a nice selection of wines by the glass in this small, family friendly neighborhood spot. If you're looking for a place to comfortably take kids but you don't want to compromise on food, wine or cocktails, then Gina is a great option. The staff is friendly and accommodating and it's a great go-to in the neighborhood. The Negronis -43 excellent as is the Amarone. The pizzas are varied and freshly made (Nutella pizza for dessert, too!) and the have frequent tasty specials. Also the passion fruit iced tea is a tasty non-alcoholic treat. It's a small spot so call ahead.

Fun spot with a super cute look ducked in on a daily day. Loved the decor, fun menu! Had the Perlina (buffalo mozzarella pizza) friend had the Margherita. Perfect on a rainy summer afternoon!

Have been here with the kids or friends several times since Covid / outdoor dining. I pretty much always have the same thing- a fig and prosciutto pizza. It's thin crust but has enough taste and toppings on a slightly creamy white base that it's excellent. I'm definitely going to have it again! The guacamole and chips are good to share, they also do chicken/ pasta and a few other staples as well as pizza. They also serve booze, and the margarita is pretty potent(!) They accommodate moving tables around and now also have a covered sidewalk shed on the street as well as sidewalk tables. Friendly staff.

I was used to the Gina that was housed in a larger location on 2nd Ave around 83rd. Looks the same just a smaller mini-me version now. Well appointed little bistro with a smaller main level dining area, some balcony seating overlooking the main floor, and outside sidewalk seating during nice weather. Bright and airy considering it's size. Attentive service to go along with the tasty food. It's a cozy date spot and good for conversations over some wine, pasta, and a pizza. Their selection of specialty pizzas are solid, as are the fresh pasta dishes. Priced as can be expected in this part of town. Not all that cheap, but ok for a night out meal. Gina seems to be building a small dining empire in the area with three spots to eat at - this Italian joint, a Mexican place, and an All-American burger eatery. All within close range of Central Park and the museums in the area.

We had a group of nine outside. The setting was perfect for our group which included some who are immuno-compromised. The service was helpful and kind. And everyone was satisfied with their food and drinks. Would not hesitate to go again.

Extremely disappointed by the service here. I order from here consistently and stopped by when a relative came to town. I ordered what I always do - a pizza and main salad to share. The salad that came back was TINY! Although it said it was a main course. My relative immediately flagged to the waiter that something must be off - surely that's not a main. The waiter stated that it is because of the cheese and that's why it's $22 - note there was a tiny piece of cheese on top. She then said she doesn't want it and that it's ridiculous it's a main because it's an appetizer portion and he just started arguing and going back and forth with her to the point of embarrassment. Eventually he relented and gave us another salad but not before I completely changed my mind about this place and will never visit again.

I am so frustrated with this restaurant. The food is good but the too high prices and skimping on the portions is egregious. Tonight I ordered the chicken soup and it was $15 for NO chicken and mostly cabbage. They add one measly piece of small bread to got with it and the charge is $15. It is the same with the entrees. Two thinnest pieces of chicken piccata, no more than three small potatoes and a bit more green beans. At this point I feel like it is just bordering on greed. All the other restaurants in the neighborhood do not have this issue. It is a shame. Turns me off to go back there.

Worst $30 I have ever spent on an Italian meal. My friend and I wanted to get Italian food for lunch before our visit to the Guggenheim, and this restaurant was perfectly located nearby - but it turned out to be such a disappointment. The main letdown was definitely the food. We ordered the lobster with spaghetti sauce and Perla's favorite ravioli (which is filled with butternut squash and sage butter sauce). The lobster spaghetti was really unappetizing. The tomato sauce as not cooked properly with the spaghetti, and it tasted as if they had just dunked some tomato sauce on top and cursorily mixed it in. The lobster had a strong fishy smell and taste. I realize that it's supposed to have a faint sea odor, but this was way too strong for my taste. They either had not cooked it well or had used lobster that wasn't fresh. The ravioli had slightly better taste, but was not served hot enough. Also, the furnishings of the restaurant are really old and rusty, which further reduce the quality of our experience. The only positive is that our waiters were really attentive and warm - the 2 stars I have given are primarily for the good service. But if you're craving a good and satisfying Italian meal, I really wouldn't recommend this!

They weren't open for Christmas delivery, but every meal I've had here is delicious and fresh and filled with a wonderful mix of Italian flavors and delicateness. Definitely go when you have the chance.

Great place for Sunday brunch! Kind, accommodating staff. The French toast was fabulous! We also enjoyed the eggs benedict with prosciutto, nova with avocado, and eggs Florentine. The French fries were also really good: crispy but not oily. A little pricy but perfect for an outing with the family. Looking forward to trying the delicious looking pasta dishes!

This place makes no sense. They've got a blow up Santa our front with wrapped presents stuck to the ceiling, festive music (albeit in Spanish) playing, and tables wrapped up like gifts. We decided this would be a kid friendly environment. The menu was not kid friendly and the service was courteous but not friendly/welcoming. The food was not great. The Parmesan "sauce" reminded me more of mayonnaise than pizza. The basil pizza didn't even taste like it had basil in it! If you are looking for a good dining experience, you should pass on Gina's.

Had a lunch with a friend. The environment is very cozy. I like the pink decoration, like a family cute mom-papa atmosphere.I'm very impressed by their pasta! I ordered the first spaghetti on the menu. Very simple but tastes with a spicy kick! I just loved it and have to leave a review!! Definitely will go back!

Ordered meatball and caprese salad from this place on Uber Eats. Total about $40 and was not worth it in terms of the amount of food and taste. The three meatballs were tough and small and quite tough.

The staff will quickly chastise you if they make a mistake with your take-out order? Do not go here for a salad and pizza, they will get your order wrong and then be upset if you bring to their attention.

I didn't expect to like this place as much as I did since we literally just chose the closet restaurant to the Cooper Hewitt Museum. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We ordered a pizza to share: mascarpone, prosciutto speck and truffle. Amazing! This pizza was flavorful and delicious. We also each had our own pasta appetizer. I ordered the truffle pappardelle with mushroom and it was good, but I found it to be lacking flavor dimension. I sprinkled a shit ton of salt on it. Friends ordered the black fettuccine with lobster and shrimp and that was pretty good. And, the last dish I had the opportunity to try was the turkey meatball fettuccine. The turkey meatballs tasted... interesting. Not quite sure how to describe it, but wouldn't necessarily recommend the meatballs. I would say this place is a 3.5 (how accurate of Yelp!) because they only refilled our water once during the meal and only when we asked. But overall I enjoyed my food.

I love their penne alla vodka (sorry if that's not how you spell it), which isn't on the menu but you can order it, and tiramisu. I also love the pizza diavola which is mozzarella and tomato topped with salami. I also like their chicken salad, when I'm trying to be healthy... I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming from because I've never had a not-great experience here, but I suppose it depends on what you order. The pizza is a little bit flimsier than I like, but for me the flavors make up for that. I will say that the restaurant is on the pricey side, but so is everything else in the area.

I would never go there again. Their outside umbrella was unstable and fell on top of the table and my daughter's legs. Table fell over and glass had broken into my granddaughter's stroller. They were rude and unprofessional when apprised of the situation. They were more concerned about the glass on the ground than anything else. Had to ask for an apology. At the very least it should've helped clean up the glass out of my granddaughter's stroller. Not a very consumer friendly place. Not safe either. It's their responsibility to ensure the safety of their customers.

Really want to give this a 3.5 stars. Got a quick bite here after going to the Met. Nice little outside seating. Quick service and food. We got the beef carpaccio (which could have used a bit more acid or salt), the veal scaloppini, and eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict was awesome and so were the side of fries. Nothing quite unique about the restaurant but had a very nice lunch.

Decent but generic. Also they didn't ask any me or anyone for covid vaccine proof. It's way too early to be so lax.

Definitely one of my favorite pizza places in NYC. The Fornarina and the Fig and Prosciutto pizzas are amazing. Such good quality cheese, meat, and figs. Definitely a neighborhood gem. The servers/staff are also very friendly. And the price for such good pizza is great too! Especially for the neighborhood which tends to be more expensive than areas with great pizza like Bronx Little Italy and LES. Will be back!

The food (pasta, salad, salmon) was good, a bit pricey for the overall experience. Will I go again? Sure why not

After a great visit to the Cooper Hewitt Museum, we had a lovely, light lunch here. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. This is a tiny, but cozy venue. We were given warm, fresh bread, with butter, while we waited for our lunches to arrive. I split a roasted beet and toasted hazelnut salad, with another guest. It was delicious. It had both red and golden roasted beets, atop a bed of fresh mesculin greens, and had a flavorful balsamic dressing. Huge, thin slices of parmesan cheese, topped this salad. Both of us enjoyed the flavor combinations in this salad. I had the lentil soup, which was flavored well and was a generous serving for lunchtime. The other guest who'd split the salad with me, chose the minestrone. She said it, too, was flavored just right, and wasn't too salty, which is something that she frequently finds when she orders minestrone, so she was very happy with this choice. Two younger guests split the spaghetti and meatballs, and both enjoyed it very much. The meatballs were good, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was seasoned well, and had nice, small chunks of tomato. The portion size was perfect for lunch time. The other adult with us had a panini, which was cheesy, and crispy, along with a side salad of fresh greens. She, too, said that her meal was tasty and a perfect size for lunch.

Yeah, it is three star review time. I really hate to give it, and I guess I would go 3.5. The food was ok. Nothing special. Pizza with onions and sausage was good but not great. The service was fine. Not remarkable. If someone tells you they want you to go here I think you can go without fear that it will be bad. However, if they are open for suggestions, San Matteo, half a block a way, is miles ahead of them on the food score.

Delicious pizza, fritto misto, soups, loved everything and super service. Great with strollers and dogs (outdoor seating). Recommend!

You can skip this place. We had the Mediterranean omelet it was basically cheese and tomato. My corn beef hash and potatoes had no flavor and the coffee was bitter. There are so many great places in New York. The servers banged the silver ware and are miserable. Don't waste your tome.

It's not fair , when I ate at this place I never had a problem with the food apart it's so expensive to eat here. But when you order delivery the pizza is different, smaller and little toppings compare when you eat at the restaurant. The funny part is the price is more expensive . I wouldn't recommend ordering from this place .

Gina La Fornarina has great food, but their service is not great. I ordered a cranberry juice for my daughter and it never came. I think that they need more staff. To give them some credit , it was very crowded though. Overall, great food and I would recommend it to people who are NOT in a rush

Tonight my family was invited to Gina La Fornarina's family and friends event for the grand opening of the newest Gina La Fornarina restaurant. Gina La Fornarina's owner transformed the previous space of Pintale Pizza after 20+ years and has created a true winner. My family was amazed by the quality of the food and the decor is very Italian, Italy style. My daughter loves the pink accents throughout the restaurant along with the 2 tier seating for note. Each course was better then the previous one and by the time we finished dinner we could not stop raving about the meal. In short, a true meal consists of full flavor and enjoyment throughout. From the pizza our first course, through the salad, pasta right to the end with the ricotta cheese cake, the UES has a winner. One last piece of information, the owner stated that the restaurant will be open for cafe in the morning, serving lunch and dinner, what a treat. I am looking forward to enjoying a cappuccino on the am on the way to work. Great dinner, great time.

So Disappointing:( food not fresh; crude host. As a repeat customer I expect some courtesy if I point out that the food was not fresh. Instead, I get surprise upcharged on avocado ($5) and offered an argument with the chef in the back. The last thing I want to do after I pointed out rotten tomatoes and yellowed cabbage on my salad plate is be "taken to the back." So unprofessional.

First, the owner seems like a very nice and gracious host. She was going table to table, and is truly a gem. My son and I (a dad here) decided to stop in after a walk in the park. We wanted to see what had become to the 'old Pintale's. Upon entering, you would have thought we were in Barbie's play land. Everything is in pink and white. We ordered a pizza and salad. None of the food was that special or remarkable. The pizza has a cardboard-ish crust and a sauce similar to that found on frozen Elio's pizza. The salad was so-so. Not bad, but similar to what you can get around the corner at Yura. My son kept on whispering how much he missed the old place, and did not want to come back. I shared his opinion. The prices are a bit steep for the food, but probably in line for the neighborhood. I do miss the old Pintale's, but luckily the other branch still delivers to Carnegie Hill. I suspect that this will become a hangout for the private girls school student body after school and for their mom's. I wish I could have loved this place more...

Food is solid 4 stars, love the ambience. Bottom line - Go! As for pricing, they are priced like most uws Italian restaurants. The difference is the superior service - smiling wait staff, glasses refilled and quick service. Their pink and white decor is fresh and whimsical. We've enjoyed everything we have tried so far. They also offer fresh pasta which I always make a point to ask about. Also, they used to have a party room downstairs (not available anymore) - we reserved it for a large family meal. It was wonderful, private and everyone was very happy with the food (back in 2013) I hope they reopen it soon!

Came here after a day at the Guggenheim with my girlfriend. Ordered the Prosciutto and Fig pizza that we shared which was one of the best pizzas I've had. Ordered dessert and a cappuccino. I ordered the tiramisu and my girlfriend order the torta de ricotta (cheesecake) which were both great. Nice spot, not really busy inside or out which is nice because you can sit down (we sat outside because it was nice) and have a conversation without traffic or crowds of people. I recommend this place. Staff was nice as well.

Pear and Gorgonzola pizza sounds like an awesome idea but it's a huge disappointment: flavorless cardboard crust and even the pears lacked juicy goodness. Overpriced and underwhelming. If it's a real Neapolitan pizza you're after, "go east, young man": a short walk on 91st to the upper east frontier of 2nd avenue will bring you to San Matteo. It's the real deal unlike here.

Went back for Valentines day and everything was great once again, this time we had the full meal, even the panini me and my girlfriend split for an appetizer was delicious. She had the gnocchi and I had a sort of delicious chicken dish with cheese and spinach. Our dessert was a brown chocolate cake with chocolate and a raspberry dress.

Best pizza! The pizza here is so thin and crispy. It tastes amazing I definitely think you should get it. The garlic spaghetti is great along with the pasta with sauce. The bread is good. Come on a nice day and you will be able to have a beautiful lunch outside. Highly recommended!!!

The portions are relatively large for an Upper East Side eatery. While the pizza is okay but not great. For dinner last night my mom, cousin, dad, and I dined at Gina la Fornaria. We sat upstairs where a party was taking place. It was loud and packed! My cousin is young so she liked sitting upstairs because the pizza was being made right in front of her eyes. From what I saw, the pizza looked good. Though in my opinion the pizza was okay. The sauce was bland as was the cheese. There was nothing quite special about it. I did like the pumpkin ravioli and the special mushroom ravioli. As was the artichoke salad my mother ordered. Overall, I will return to Gina La Fornaria.

I enjoyed my calzone and liked that it was topped with fresh prosciutto. The ingredients were fresh and the wine was satisfying. However, the place was loud for a Sunday evening.

I eat at Gina's probably about once a week for dinner. The quality is consistently excellent. The cherry tomato and arugula pizza is great. I also like the salad with the hearts of palm in it - it's an unusual menu item and a welcome way to consume vegetables. The minestrone is fantastic as are all the pasta dishes I've had. My only concerns are that the prices are a little high and they close at 10 PM. To be fair, the prices are average for the Upper East Side, but high compared to every other neighborhood and I should probably learn to eat dinner before 10 PM. Even if they could extend pick-up/delivery hours to 10:30 it would be an improvement.

The food was ok, but be sure to watch your credit card bill. They attempted to double charge both my friend and I with charges on dates other than when we dined

Soooooo hard to get good coffee in NYC (yes, I'm a fussy Aussie) - went into Gina's for family brunch and was VERY pleasantly surprised with the coffee, EXCELLENT Thanks !! Food great too.

Food ok but we found a gum inside a napkin we were using!!not sure about how clean this place is

The food is wonderful - the restaurant is great. Staff are great. We have visited multiple sites and are regulars especially at the Madison Avenue branch. However - we visited today - 29th November and found it to be overbearing. The problem is that the restaurant has been turned into a constant Christmas theme. It feels like being in a Walmart store with the constant Christmas theme music in the background. We want to enjoy dinner without the music that is playing in all the stores. In addition the entire restaurant is decorated in a Christmas theme. But the music is really overbearing... please please consider taking this music off - otherwise a lot of people will find it difficult to go for dinner. We are as quickly as possible and left as soon as possible.

This is one of my favorite brick oven pizzas in NY. I don't really try much of anything else on the menu because it's that good! A note: It can get pretty packed on weekends, even if you have a reservation!
