Quaint little restaurant with a wholesome, lovely atmosphere. The staff was exceptional, and even had a little reservation placard on the table with my name on it! Adorable. The oversized menus were fun, and even added to the atmosphere by giving a smidge of privacy between tables. Fun idea! Portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side, but overall the food quality was definitely above average.

Google
Restaurant has a super cute ambiance and a warm, welcoming atmosphere from the owner who took the time to explain the menu in detail. The food is delicious and very clean for Chinese cuisine, It's definitely a healthier take on Chinese food.❤️ I started with some cocktails—They were all incredibly refreshing, but the ginger margarita is definitely my favorite. We tried several dishes. They were all incredibly delicious. For desserts, we tried Asian pear bread pudding and the gold custard bao; both good, but I definitely loved and suggest the bread pudding ❤️ Overall, it was a wonderful experience with excellent food and drinks. I highly recommend!

Okay, very unique place. Yes, safe Gluten-free The owners are incredible, very knowledgeable, and two people who will give you positive energy—fantastic! Ask for Mary, the owner, and you will be taken care of. Lastly, Houston has a lot of bars, but a handful of cocktail bars. This place is top-notch for drinks. Five stars! Go now!

Google
What great little gem in Roce Military. Just off Shepherd, this place serves great Cantonese dishes. We love soup dumplings and these were legit. The drinks are delicious and the service was outstanding!! Such friendly staff and very engaging and attentive. Really enjoyed their company. The Peking duck Bao and curry noodles were great and then since we were still a little hungry we got an off menu Peking duck dumpling. Was amazing!

The food was good, bland, not great. The portions are small and very expensive. The service was aggressive. We felt constantly pressured to order their recommendations. The giant menu dividers were disconcerting, and mildly bizarre. We won’t return. Houston has far too many fabulous restaurants to ever consider this one again.

Google
The place was clean and lovely. Service was excellent. Valet parking only. Unfortunately the food was disappointing and expensive wane relatively small. Only the dumplings and stir fried green beans tasted ok. The rest of the food was really disappointing and bot at all authentic Chinese. The curry dish was the weirdest.

First time we were here, I was under the weather but enjoyed the soup & hot tea. This time we visited after the Nutcracker matinee. We ordered hand-crafted ginger drink & mules. The food was hot and tasty. The spicy eggplant hit the spot, and the lamb & onions dish went well with the jasmine rice. Overall, we enjoyed the company and atmosphere was a great start to ring in the holidays!

Google
pretty good Chinese for the Heights area. higher quality but on the pricey side for the quantity of food. more affordable lunch portions. ask for the chili oil. it’s really good. it has fewer chili flakes but has black bean paste. the owner is very friendly to the customers. the service was top notch and the food came out quickly. small parking lot but we went during lunch and it’s wasn’t busy.

Yelp
Food : very high quality They use filet mignon for their beef cubes, organic chicken breast, fresh vegetables, and gluten-free soy sauce. Love their fried rice, not salty, just good flavor. All-time Comfort Soup "Ching Po Leung" is a traditional Chinese soup with different beans and grains such as barley, add pork bone, boiled for hours so all flavors blend together. A serving will make your body feel cleansed and nourished. Dim-sum ("tapas") : Small selections mostly made by the master dim-sum chef from a very famous Chinese dim-sum tea house. The duck and mushroom dumplings are original and hand-crafted, so they are unique and expensive. The runny-yoke Gold Sand buns are so smooth. These really make you feel that life is so good with these good quality Chinese food! They are just not the same from those on Bellaire Blvd. Service : The owner Mary treats you like her good old friends! The servers are pleasant and courteous. Ambiance : Homey casual feel with enlarged, standup menu on a stand served as dividers during Covid. Now they have become a novelty design inspiration to other restaurants.

Yelp
We didn't realize how upscale Ginger & Fork is. Table for three walked in after attending a sports event and we were extremely underdressed. Since we didn't have a reservation, they let us sit at the bat, when a table was available, they allowed us to moved. Bartender was kind and understanding. The hostess was a little prickly, and the waiter didn't seem to know the menu too well. They had a really nice cocktail menu with creative concoctions. The reason for a lower three star score, is because the food is over priced for being just okay.

Yelp
Ambiance and Service: The restaurant boasts delicious food, attentive service, and some of the best craft cocktails in Houston. The owners' pride in their establishment shines through. They greeted us warmly while we ordered, offered must-try recommendations, and remained attentive throughout the meal. Must-Try Dishes: My favorites were the soup dumplings, and the perfectly seasoned fried cauliflower and tofu. These appetizers were crispy without being greasy, a delightful combination. For the main course, the sizzling steak was the star - incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. While the pineapple shrimp wasn't my favorite (due to my personal aversion to fruit in savory dishes), it might be perfect for someone who enjoys that sweet and savory combo. Cocktail Champion: The true highlight of the night was the cocktail menu. The dragon fire and ginger margarita were exceptional! They were so good, I'd happily return just for happy hour to enjoy these drinks and some appetizers

Yelp
Truly don't understand the point of this place. It's very casual and serves bland dumplings at 3x the price of any other place! Even the ($28!!!) truffle dumplings were just okay. For lunch with no alcohol and just apps we paid $100 and left hungry. Service is friendly but slow and confused. Made multiple mistakes like bringing us another tables drinks. Won't return. Go to Trendy Dumpling or Chinatown instead!

Yelp
A highly impressive menu! G&F is a very fun vibe, super family friendly feel to it as well. They have excellent craft cocktails and plenty on the menu for everyone. The staff are fun and welcoming, highly recommend!

Yelp
Awesome food! Mary is so awesome! She is the owner and paid us great attention - you gotta try the wings - so so so good!

Yelp
Went here on a recommendation by a friend and we were so disappointed. The prices were outrageous for the portion & quality. Got the lunch pork and seafood specials which were good but portions were tiny. Even the vegetarian sides are $18. You're better off going to Qin Dynasty & HiTrendy Dumplings

Emily W.

Yelp
A staple restaurant for us. Soup dumplings, fried cauliflower, gf fried rice, bells & cattle, curry coated noodles, gf fried shrimp, ginger snap cookie dessert, ginger margarita (can ask for it spicy too), super tuscan red wine

Yelp
Mark, Mary, and their staff are essentially our second family as many others may attest to as well. The welcome and service is first class from beginning to finish. Cocktails are out of this world with the in house syrups and fresh ingredients prepped everyday beforehand. My wife and I are spoiled on the drinks. Selection of wine and alcohol is superb and the staff have great knowledge on what we are drinking. Our cocktail favorites are the Apple blossom (off menu), Purple raine (recently added from off the menu due to popularity), grasshopper (for desert), and second marriage. As for food, we always get mushroom fries (off menu), snow pea leaves (off menu), mixed mushrooms, soup dumplings (from NY), bone brittle flounder, and the sizzling filet mignon. Highly recommended with a great ambiance and memorable experience. Mary the owner is wonderful taking care of everyone that comes through the door. You won't be disappointed. Definitely try out their cocktails!

Yelp
Cocktails: 5/5 amazing, wonderful, incredible (but expensive) Service/Ambiance: 5/5 attentive, friendly, good suggestions, timely, good vibes but close quarters Portions: 2/5 very small like we were still kinda hungry after two appetizers and our entree Food: 4/5 dumplings were good. the beef was cooked incredibly!!!! so so tasty!!! the flavors however weren't anymore exciting than what I get at my typical takeout place Price: 1/5 very high for what it was Parking: valet and you can use venmo to tip! Ginger & Fork was good but I doubt I will go back for food. For drinks, definitely. If you can afford to buy all sorts of stuff on the menu then yes, go, but if you're looking for a nice dinner out and want to stay around $100 or less then this isn't the place.

Yelp
Have you ever notice that you never see Chinese Fine dining? Meh you can say PF Chang but that's a franchise and it doesn't stand out for me. Ginger & Fork however is a true gem and my first experience with actual Cantonese Fine Dining!!! This restaurant is spacious, clean the service welcomes everyone with a warm greeting like they've been expecting you!! And yes!! It's a family owned business and they're all so awesome!! We've gone twice and I actually dream about their steamed dumplings!!! Oh so good!! And their craft cocktails are one to beat!! They're open to new ideas and they do their best to incorporate Cantonese flavors to enhance the flavors of your food! They're just brilliant! And the chef is super talented...so far we haven't tried a dish that we didn't like! Everything is full of rich flavors, savory and nothing but yummy deliciousness. The quality and freshness of the ingredients are stellar! Bottom line, this place is phenomenal! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. The food is everything, some Cantonese classics and some twists, and for their prices it's 100% worth it! Be sure to make your reservations!! This place is getting popular and are booking fast!! Pro Top: If the online reservations are full, give them a call and see if they have any openings!!

Yelp
Absolutely incredible restaurant. The truffle dumplings were top of the top. The ginger margarita is my favorite cocktail. Loved all the noodle and fried rice options! Amazing service always!

Yelp
On service: Our experience at Ginger and Fork was...weird and disappointing to say the least. Already from the get-go, our server already seemed flustered just from taking the drink orders. While it can be understandably hectic for a large party, the server never seemed to keep her composure through-out the meal. She was flustered at every simple request. When asked about certain dishes and if spice levels could be altered, it was obvious that the server/waitress was not well versed on the menu and could not describe the difference between the dishes. She took our order and then returned after about 10 mins to clarify the order once again. Instead of stepping in to intervene, the manager/owner would watch the waitress fumble back and forth. The owner/manager would also come and pace near our table - I don't know what that's about. Near the end of the meal, she finally spoke to us about a "small plate charge" as we had brought a cake to share amongst the party. We did not know about the small plate charge (basically them charging us for providing small plates and silverware for the cake that we brought) as the waitress did not inform us ahead of time when we told her about the cake. On food: The food overall was salty, unimpressive, and overpriced. Perhaps their redeeming quality would be their cocktails and the soup dumplings....but I could get better dumplings in dim-sum places in Bellaire or Trendy Dumpling for a better price. Cocktails are simply not enough to keep a customer. On ambiance: It was more casual rather than upscale/fine dining. Overall: The service was a frustrating experience. It was clumsy and flustered. We will not be returning and do not recommend.

Yelp
Over priced bland food. Ambiance was nice but that's about it. Soup dumplings was extremely disappointing. They put too much ginger in everything.

Arturo A.

Yelp
Food is good, however, extremely small portions for the price point. If you order an entree for 1, price ranges $27-33. Also you have to ask for 'complimentary' white rice and the portion is like a kids scoop of ice scream. They will charge for additional rice. The bar staff is our favorite, good people. Much better than the owners. The owners always rush you to order and don't let you really enjoy your cocktail. The cocktails are amazing, but after 3 ($60) no buzz whatsoever. Also, you will know when it's closing time because the owners rush you, they even hesitate to sit you if you show up 30 min before closing. Not a bad place to try once. We used to be regulars, but the owners husband bad mouth us when we asked why they seem to rush people, his response "come earlier". Unacceptable. This happened a few weeks ago. Was our last time....

Yelp
Ginger & Fork just celebrated 6-years of business! I first checked them out when they opened in March 2016, and they are still great even in 2022! If you haven't been, Ginger & Fork is a fine dining Chinese restaurant inspired by Hong Kong and Cantonese cuisine. The concept was started by Mary Li who has been a bartender since 1991 and has close to 40-years of industry experience. The restaurant was named by Mary's daughter, Tammie Tse, who learned many benefits of cooking with ginger while obtaining her Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. This mother-daughter duo brought top-notch Chinese cuisine matched with great service, wine, and crafty cocktails inside the inner loop of Houston! Depending on the time of day, Ginger & Fork has a free private parking lot during lunch hours, but it switches to valet-only for dinner. The restaurant itself is inside of a renovated house. I have gone for both lunch and dinner, and the experience is quite different. They have a lunch menu where you can dine in yourself between $10-$20, and the menu changes more to family-style dining after 3 pm. If you come for dinner, definitely grab a craft cocktail. I usually get the Ginger Margarita (El Tesoro Platinum Tequila, Cointreau, Canton Ginger Liqueur, fresh lime juice, ginger) for $17.  This definitely has a spicy kick to it, so beware! As for appetizers, I absolutely love the Spicy Tofu Cubes (lightly fried tofu tossed in salt and peppers) for $10.  The tofu cubes are perfectly fried, not too squishy or soft.  They are served with jalapeños as well. This is something I always order when I come here, and I have not found a place that does spicy tofu cubes better than this! For dinner, they have quite an extensive menu ranging from grains, noodles, seafood, land, and vegetarian options. I have tried many items, but my favorites have been the Cantonese Spicy Squid (lightly fried squid tossed in salt and peppers) for $26 and the Squid Ink Fried Rice (squid, shrimp, Chinese sausage, and scallions) for $24. Overall, I really love Ginger & Fork, and I am happy they opened up so close to my home. Mary and her daughter, Tammie, are awesome. The restaurant has great service, incredible cocktails, and amazing food. If you have a chance to check them out, please order the Spicy Tofu Cubes! You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
4.5/5 Stars. I'm new to Houston, so I've made it my mission to try out all the good eats near my downtown residence; this place does not disappoint. The food is 5 stars. I've been to this place a few times, and the inconsistent service is the only reason I can't give it 5 stars. I'll update my review after a few more visits, if that changes. Bonus note: If you are Vegan or Vegetarian, or have loved ones that are, this is a good place to take them; they have several options, and can make almost any dish to meet those diet preferences. Food/drink I'd recommend: *Wonton Soup - YUMMY! *Egg Rolls - SO GOOD. *HK Pineapple Chicken - You'll want seconds, even full. Lol. *Bells and Cattle. *Mixed Mushrooms. *Steamed Dumplings *Ginger Margarita

Yelp
Not sure why G&F hasn't popped up on my radar up until recently. Maybe because I don't venture out to the Heights often enough, or maybe because I subconsciously dismiss any Asian restaurants outside of ctown. The restaurant looked like a house from both outside and in, and our party of four was sat right at the front looking out the window at the porch and street. There was even a staircase going up to the next floor right next to us ( that's my ideal business plan btw, to live right above a business/store I opened). I almost never have high expectations for Chinese food outside of ctown, although I have been surprised a few times. G&F can barely count among one of those times, because everything we ordered was quite authentic. Pork Loin was deep fried perfectly and still tender with all the correct flavors. Squid Ink fried rice lacked a bit in the same department. The soup dumplings were decent, with the skin a bit on the thicker side. But I just could not swallow the price of $15 for 4 pieces, when I can get better soup dumpIings in ctown at $8 for 6 pieces. Guess that's the downside of operating a business in such a high demand part of town. They do make some unique cocktails behind that marvelous looking full bar though. #297

Yelp
First time visiting Houston from the NY Metro area. Food and drinks here are top notch. Owner Mary and her staff really do a great job providing authentic Chinese coupled with down home Texas hospitality. Murals and Chinese themed decor give the space a very welcoming yet exotic atmosphere. The food: given the location of the restaurant in the Heights neighborhood of Houston, the prices are bit elevated although you definitely get what you pay for in flavor. We had a number of their appetizers, mains and dessert. Pleasantly surprised how fresh everything was. They use an abundance of authentic Asian produce and ingredients in their dishes. A few standouts were their squid ink fried rice, steamed fish and homemade chili oil. The drinks: very rarely do you find an Asian restaurant with a drink menu as extensive and complex as G&F. Thanks to her many years of experience and pedigree in mixology and fine spirits, Mary has curated one of Houston's top beverage programs here and the level of sophistication in her cocktails and knowledge spirits clearly shows. This restaurant has a strong following of regular clientele and usually packed during most hours of the day, so if you decide to come, make sure it's earlier or be prepared to wait or make a reservation. Ginger & Fork is a gem of a restaurant! Please visit

Yelp
I LOVE GINGER and FORK!! This is my favorite restaurant in Houston!! It's my husband and my "place" to go to celebrate our most memorable moments. Every time we come the owners greet us like family. They are amazingly warm, kind and super attentive. They have this outstanding manner of training personnel to recognize customers and seek opportunities to aid any table. You don't have a dedicated waiter because everyone has the same level of exceptional competence. They seem to work in unison as if of a hive mind. It's truly an experience with the benefit of a great meal. The food is always delicious no matter what we order. I would recommend the fried cauliflower- even if you're not a veggie person. It's mouthwatering. They earn all 5 Stars of my review. I LOVE GINGER and FORK!!

Yelp
Solid four stars here! A+ customer service and love having a 'dim sum' option close to downtown. Biggest complaint would be price since everything is overpriced compared to what you can find in Chinatown. There is plenty of parking in the lot across the street and we were able to get seated right away when we walked in. I thought it was really interesting and useful that they use blow-up menus to serve as panels that separate parties all over the restaurant. Our server/host gave us "favorite Asian aunt" feels, she was incredibly nice and friendly to us the entire night. Drinks were solid and they have a good variety of cocktails and beers. The dim sum appetizers siu mai and ha gao were my favorite to eat - kind of a rip off for 3 pieces but tasted good. Pecking duck, green beans, and Cantonese curry chicken were decent, nothing that stands out but not bad either.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. Food is delicious and drinks are great! We absolutely love the food. The owners are fabulous and make you feel welcome. Try the soup dumplings they are delicious. Quaint place and the waist staff is awesome. They will not disappoint. Hands down my favorite restaurant.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Our iced tea glasses were always full and that is saying a lot because I might have over-done it on the chili oil. Absolutely get the fried cauliflower. It's on point!

Yelp
Amazing food! Incredible and if it weren't for the steep price, we would come here more often. Each dish for dinner is about $20 to $30+. We got the crown fun noodles with beef and it was great. We also got the pineapple shrimp and it was even better. So crispy and flavorful! The service was good and the owner came by and was so sweet. The whole place is very nice and it is a different experience and vibe then our typical China town dining experience. We also got the custard filled dumplings for desert and it was delicious. Overall, I would recommend.

Yelp
I've been here twice in the last two years with my family to celebrate my birthday, and the hospitality has been wonderful each time. Love the open kitchen concept if you're a dining with a group or just sitting at the bar if you want a drink. Food is rich, but delicious, and a treat overall!

Yelp
So many gluten free options and delicious cocktails. We've been twice in the last month and are so happy with everything we've ordered. They use gluten free soy sauce in their stir fried dishes. Service has been great and the owner(?) checked on our table and really cares about our experience.

Yelp
This place was a nice experience on a random Wednesday. There is valet when you pull up and there may be only 1 person working so please be patient. The hostess and owner was very helpful. She spent her time making sure all guests were accommodated to the highest level. The menu was straight to the point, rice and proteins. Their biggest seller is the soup dumpling, they were at very table. I ordered the cilantro fried rice along with lettuce wraps. The food was great , full of flavor and enough to satisfy my appetite.

Yelp
Great cocktail program. Lovely decorations. The owners and the staff are super friendly. I am so happy to see how they can bring elegance to Chinese restaurant. The modeling shots are eucalyptus daiquiri, a creation of G&F

Yelp
---Dearest Reader, After a perilous journey eastward from the energy corridor we found ourselves 20 minutes away in Washington. It was well worth the trek. Upon arrival we were welcomed with the highest level of hospitality (we did send word via carrier pigeons a night prior) pro tip: for parties of 5+ you need to give them a call vs. booking on OpenTable Favorites -Spicy Chicken & Mushroom: 4 varieties of mushrooms, tender/juicy/flavorful chicken (not overly spicy) -Cauliflower: Listed as an appetizer but could easily work as a full entree -Buhda's Delight: Delightful and works as a good addition vegetable-wise (as I'd recommend the family style dining) -G F Fried Rice: Simple staple dish that was executed PERFECTLY -Fried Mushrooms: Pass - would not order again (this was a special) Drinks: -Screaming Eagle Sour: 10/10 -Hot Child in the City: 9/10 (if you don't like the smokiness of Mezcal, they will double the tequila) -Ginger Margarita: 5/10 (wasn't popular with the table) -Espresso Martini: 11/10 Another journey awaits me, until next time, ---Mitchell

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at in Houston. Prices are a bit expensive, but not really for a place in the loop, for a nicer place to dine with incredible foods, on top of great drinks. The dessert menu is limited but excellent in taste - and honestly, I've only been there once where I had dessert because there was such a great portions of the food. On top of that, the owners are excellent hosts! If you're looking for some great tasting Asian/Vietnamese entrees, this place will win you over. Reservations/Open Table recommended - otherwise you might have to wait a while or not even get in. Nice casual and low key dressy. Enjoy!

Debbie L.

Yelp
This place have great reviews so we reserved for my birthday celebration dinner. The Xiao Long Bao was overpriced with thick skin and pork filling had a bad taste. Seriously can find better ones for less at many other places in Houston. Other dishes are not outstanding and overpriced. Only the squid ink fried rice was on point. Service was friendly but servers talked over me super fast.

Yelp
This was my first time here. They have the safest and protocol to disinfect customers. First off, the front door is locked and the host will open and greet you. You get a light mist of spray on your front, back, and bottoms of shoes. A little strange at first but truly a great idea! The have giant table dividers that have their menu right on it in huge font. Another great idea so they aren't having the clean menu or throw out tons of temporary paper ones. My group of 3 were there for all their dumplings. You can't go wrong. The steamed, fried, shrimp, and Xiao Long Bao (soup) are all amazing. Their sauces are on point too. This is a great date spot but great for a small group or even a birthday party. We saw another table being sung too by the staff with some special desert. Lastly they have valet right out front but also a huge free lot right across the street. Didn't have any issues parking there, but I wouldn't leave your vehicle there if you plan on going elsewhere that night.

Yelp
So I came back again to try the lunch menu. I wasn't sure if I would come back because the prices here are pretty expensive for a lot dishes on the menu. It just doesn't make any since for chow fun to cost $18 with no protein in it, then cost an additional $7-$8 to add meat, which make this dish cost almost $30!!! That's insane for simple chow fun dish to cost that much! Why! You can go to Chinatown and other parts of the city to get great Cantonese food for way less!! This place is near the Heights, so maybe that's why the cost of Chinese/Asian food is so high here! The egg rolls were crispy n tasty, but nothin special for $9. I taste a lot of Chinese 5 spice in it. The sliced pork had a nice flavor to it, but not worth $15 for a small lunch plate. to go. I'm a huge foodie and don't mind spending money of great food. I would love to come back and try there other dishes, but I just won't pay for those kind of prices on the menu for Chinese/Cantonese food.

Yelp
In a city that has multiple "Asia towns" and an endless selection of excellent Asian eateries, *bad* Asian food just cannot be tolerated. Ginger & Fork is an oddity that tries so hard to pass as a higher-end establishment, but it fails in areas that count. The whole venue feels dingy and dated. Blown up poster-sized menus line the entry and loom over each table, reminding each diner that COVID is here to stay for eternity. Any response to protect our health is appreciated, however, digital menus are a little less gaudy. The attentive waitstaff earned this place an additional star, but the food and prices alone would make this place a solid one-star restaurant. The spicy tofu cubes were just okay, but the portion was tiny at $10. The soup dumplings are doughy and very middle-of-the-road, but $15 for 4 mediocre xiao long bao is highway robbery! For context - One Dragon slings some of Houston's best soup dumplings at $10 for 6. Even the famous Din Tai Fung sells them at $13 for 10! Dinner entrees average at a whopping $30 per dish, which is what I'd pay at an upscale establishment. Lunch entrees hit for anywhere between $11-$18 - almost double what I'm used to paying at Houston's best Chinese restaurants. I went for a business lunch and ordered the Minced Beef w/ Egg, minced beef and veggies in sauce over rice with a raw egg for $15. This is usually my favorite type of food... instead, this lunch ended up being one of the worst things I've ever eaten. The minced beef was tough, swimming in a goopy bland sauce. I mixed the raw egg into the rice as instructed, and because the rice wasn't very hot, the egg remained raw and turned the whole lot into a slimy sort of muck that looked a lot like vomit. Kind staff is not enough to make a restaurant successful. No one can convince me that paying high prices for small portions and midrange food is okay. I'll stick to the other Asia towns for tasty eats, and hopefully Ginger & Fork can make the necessary changes to keep up with the rapidly expanding competition.

Yelp
Great food and service! It is Cantonese Chinese and the duck Bao was my favorite. I highly recommend the cocktails .

Yelp
Popped by to get an espresso! Marcus helped me and it was delicious. My headache is gone! Appreciate the great bar service!

Yelp
The G&F wings are to die for !!! Not your run of the meal Asian restaurant. This place is super nice . The mixed mushrooms dish is also a must have . It has valet parking and also great cocktails while you wait for your meal

I don't give many 5 stars!! If you want to see what years of developing wonderful flavors and taste love on a plate, then look no further! Tonight was amazing. You must start with the soup dumplings- they are amazing. I ordered the Bone Brittle Fish! Wow! They filet the fish and then batter the bones and that is the serving dish for the beautiful tender fish. The sauce that coats the fish is pure heaven! This is a shareable dish. (I shared with a friend). My other friend ordered the shrimp in velvet meat sauce- omg - amazing as well. This is hands down one of the best restaurants I've eaten at this year! The ginger margarita is tasty with some heat! Their gin lemon drink is addictive! Mary, thank you for a remarkable dinner.

Yelp
Very nice dinner! Some friends and I visited a few days ago and shared several items off of the menu. The soup dumplings of course, as well as some other dumplings. Both were fantastic. For entrees we really enjoyed the chow fun and the eggplant. The star of the dinner was the custard buns - perfect sweet and salty balance. The service was excellent - the staff work well together to ensure no table needs a thing. This is what separates the good from the great! Will be back!

Yelp
Pretty good Chinese for the Heights area. Higher quality but on the pricey side for the quantity of food. More affordable lunch portions. Ask for the chili oil. It's really good. It has fewer chili flakes but it has black bean paste. The owner is very friendly to the customers. The service was top notch and the food came out quickly. Small parking lot but we went during lunch and it wasn't busy.

Yelp
Way over-priced food which would have been fine if food was good. But unfortunately it's below average at best. We tried 4 dishes - all were tasteless. Do not order pineapple chicken unless you want to have mostly chunks of pineapples and red bell pepper with a little fried chicken thrown in for $28. If you are into totally bland food with very little flavor you might find it average at best. Quantity of food is ridiculously small for the price. No complaints about the service and ambiance. There's zero creativity in the dishes.

Yelp
Food, cocktails and service was exceptional here! I went with a party of 6, we all chose entrees and split them. Every entree was flavorful and delicious. Our waitress did a great job explaining the menu and helping us choose cocktails since it was our first time. I will absolutely be back again.

Yelp
Positives: The wait staff and bartenders were clearly top notch. The owners appeared to be there on a Saturday might - that's good. Negatives: Incredibly overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. The chicked dish we had was very lackluster, and not enough chicked for a full meal (if we wanted to eat it all). The shrimp dish had rubbery shrimp, so not only was it not fresh shrimp, but they probably bought frozen eazy peel shrimp, which are rubbery. Each were just under $30. I really hate to think this, but Panda Express has better food than what we had.

Yelp
The food was great at this place, me and my so had the steamed dumplings and loved them. As an entree I had the pineapple chicken and he had the curry coated noodles, both were great. Will be boating this location when I'm in Houston again!

Yelp
HRW 2019 lunch Ching pho Leung soup: traditional Cantonese 9 herb and pork bone broth. Very good and flavorful. Curry fried Rice (5 oz): pieces of char siu, and shrimp, this was good. Beef chow fun: flat rice noodles and beef. This is the tastier lunch dish but more fatty as well. (Not a bad thing though) Mary's ginger parfait: very very good. The best dessert. They were lunch portions and on the smaller and lighter side. I did leave hungry, but I think the food is good and the price is fair.

Yelp
Went here for the first time today (a Thursday) for lunch at noon. We made a reservation on Open Table but it wasn't necessary as there was plenty of seating. Decent amount of parking but on a busy weekend evening I think it would be tight. All staff were wearing masks and were polite and attentive. An Asian lady in a silk embroidered top came asking if we had questions about the menu- she was probably the owner as I saw her later directing staff to clean certain areas. The food was good- there wasn't anything we didn't like: Steamed chicken dumplings (not pictured), the fried eggrolls (veg) not pictured), the shrimp dumplings (forget the real name), the seafood with vegetables lunch portion, and the squid ink fried rice. The standout was the squid ink fried rice- it had some squid and shrimp as well as Chinese sausage for that extra boost of richness. The presentation of it in a big white porcelain bowl really adds to the comfort food vibe. We also got the red velvet cream cake which was pretty meh for me. In general, I'd come here again but not often as the prices are pretty high for what you're getting. The service was outstanding tho, and that you are usually hard pressed to find in an Asian restaurant.

Yelp
Ambiance is whatever floats your boat with a twist of lime. Intimate but lively place. Staff is the best part of this restaurant. Service is fun but courteous...no single person takes care of your table yet you are always in good hands. Food wasn't overly saturated with soy sauce and tasted fresh. the Buddha's delight is veggie heaven!!

Yelp
Just recently found this place when I searched for soup dumplings! Overall its not bad. I must say 4 stars for food but I will give 5 stars for the service! So here's what we ordered: Congee: comes with no meat but you can add chicken or beef. We decided to have it meatless because we normally have congee with minced pork and aged egg. Congee is delicious here w/out a doubt. I love how there are julienne ginger so there will be moments where you will bite into it giving the congee a nice spicy flavor and crunch. Portion is great for 2 maybe even 4. Soup dumplings! Which is why we're here. It's good, the soup is a bit on the salty side but flavor is there and the pork taste great. Although I will say for 4 soup dumplings.... for $12.50.... Cha siu bao: meh, taste similar to the ones I've had elsewhere. They are a little small too. Sweet custard bao: good, the bao is like super soft, good ratio of custard. Very creamy nutty taste, so it's a bit thicker than usual. Pork and shrimp siu mai: well it's decent, the flavor is almost close to bland, not sure if I even saw shrimp. Not bad, my wife didn't like it though :/ They make chili oil in house, it's not bad. Needs more flakes to make it spicier though. Inside is cozy, a lil romantic, parking is small, but we came when there wasn't much customers.
