Ginger Cafe & Grill in Corpus Christi is an incredible find. The lamb shank is to die for and truly one of the best I have ever had. It is tender, full of flavor, and falls right off the bone, making every bite unforgettable. The dolmas are also excellent, fresh and well seasoned. Everything feels carefully prepared with a lot of care. I definitely want to come back and try more from their menu, because this place really stands out.

Awesome! Best lamb chops!! Food overall is very good! Chef came to our table and asked for a feedback, which is rare these days, servers are polite and atmosphere is good. I would highly recommend this place!

I visited this Mediterranean restaurant while in town and was immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Their hospitality truly stood out and made the experience enjoyable. Being from out of town, I have no shortage of Mediterranean restaurants in my area, so my expectations were fairly high. I ordered the hummus and the mixed grill plate, but unfortunately, both dishes fell short in terms of flavor. The hummus lacked seasoning maybe it needed more salt or some extra zest. The mixed grill also felt under-seasoned, missing the bold spices that usually define great Mediterranean cuisine. That being said, the pricing was reasonable, which is always a plus. While the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me, I definitely appreciate the warm service and fair pricing. With a little more attention to seasoning, this place could really shine!

Went for lunch, amber our server was fantastic. The chicken lettuce wraps were amazing. Loved the build your own bowl, beef shawarma was delicious. The salmon was very good as well. I will be back

This was my first time checking out Ginger Cafe. I went with my parents who highly recommended this restaurant. I got the Turkish coffee, the Falafel platter, and they were super good. I had never had Turkish coffee before. The presentation was great and the flavor had a nice floral note to it. I'd highly recommend this place for people looking for high quality vegetarian options. Also the service was top notch!

The food was good, the service was very good, the atmosphere was ok and all, I tried the kefta kabob wrap, it was well balanced, wrapped with fresh vegetables, and grilled beef skewers When we went, it was not busy at all, but all the silverware was not available, and they provided us with disposable silverware . Also, the waitress was very helpful with everything. I would recommend this restaurant to take out or for entree's

I ordered the Fattoush Salad, and it was absolutely delicious! After a long week at the SkillsUSA Competition in Corpus Christi, this place was perfect for relaxing and enjoying great food with friends. It's definitely a memorable moment!

Best Mediterranean food in the area! First time here and we will be back. Dolmas, humus, and falafel are all top notch. The service is almost better than the food. What a gem of a restaurant.

My wife and I stopped in during an impromptu visit from San Antonio. AMAZING!!! It was so good we came back two days later. The lamb shank, heaven help me!!! Soooo tender and seasoned to perfection!!! The owner came out and introduced himself. Forgive me, I waited entirely too long to post this review so names escape me. He was so nice! And he mentioned his wife's truck that serves açaí bowls. This was Easter weekend and we haven't stopped talking about those bowls since!!!! We're definitely heading back for both soon!!!

My husband, daughter and I have become regulars at Ginger. The most authentic Middle Eastern food spot here in Corpus Christi. We love their hummus shawarma with chicken. If I could I would order my own and eat that as my meal. Their food is delicious, authentic, and always comes out so fresh. Their service is great and the restaurant is always calm and inviting. Definitely give this place a try!

The food was delicious but the customer service was terrible. Upon being seated our waiter made his way over to our table, no greeting was made and no questions were asked regarding the menu. Our whole meal we were basically ignored except for us having to wave him down for more water. Mind you the other waiters were very attentive to their tables. While nearing the end of our meal my husband paid at the front desk and while having small talk with the woman checking him out she informs him our waiter is the manager! When leaving the restaurant we are followed out by said waiter out to the parking lot asking if we had paid the tab. Should he had been attentive he would've known the tab was paid. I am very disappointed by how this was handled especially coming from the manager.

Amazing food!!! The cauliflower was the star of the show! The chicken was great but wow, I could be a vegetarian after this dish!! Thank you!!

hostess was very nice. she had many tables but remained kind, accurate, and speedy. her + chef were very knowledgeable of their menu and provided great recommendations. i enjoyed the music; very classy. nice decor. food was extremely good. my bf was speechless which is so rare (lol). i had the lamb chops and they were very tender and had lots of flavor. i usually go for the carbs first but i devoured everything else first - it was soooo good. will be back soon x

The food was phenomenal! Services was awesome, they are so friendly. We had the Kibbeh and Hummus for appetizers, Shawarma Combo and Falafel for the main course, and the Turkish Coffee, Kunafa, and Baklava for dessert. It was all delicious even took an order of Hummus to go!

Maggie my server was wonderful and attentive.It was her first day on the job but she was a wonderful server!The braised lamb was off the chain!Some of the best food i have ever ate(besides Mom/Grandma).Was my first time there but def will be going back often!

We stopped in today to pick up a take out order on the fly. The staff is courteous and helpful. The atmosphere is peaceful and pleasant. And the food is excellent. My family is vegetarian - and there are plenty of options to enjoy. We look forward to returning. Thank you!

The food was pretty good, 7/10 on the vegan options. However, we saw a roach during out meal and when I asked the server about comping the bill, she didn't. Very disappointing

Very good food, also very friendly - cooked steak a little more upon request, which came out perfectly the second time. Good Turkish coffee and several options for me on a Mediterranean diet.

Very sad to report this restaurant has been sold and no one there seems to have a clue about the food on the menu! Two orders of chicken masala were non- recognizable as such. Even our salads were poorly made with bottled Caesar salad dressing instead of tzatziki.(on the Gyro Salad and even the Greek Salad). Slow service by well meaning but untrained wait-staff. We've enjoyed this restaurant for years and even though the service was usually a bit slow the food was reliably good. What a loss!

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. Decided to try it out because of the reviews. Asked the young waitress what was a popular dish to try. She explained she was new but she would go get the manager. Several minutes went by and a lady comes out (not the manager) to explain the menu. But while she was doing that the manger comes out and is greeting the other guests but never acknowledged us the entire time we were there. We were the only African Americans in the restaurant. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter the food had good flavor but was semi warm and the salad came out at the same time as the meal. Don't think I will go back to a place where I didn't feel welcomed.

Food-amazing masala, curry, kibbeh and tabbouleh. Service: AMAZING our server Laura brought us examples of the sauces so we could pick, made fresh ginger ale and the owner shared with us the best way to eat kibbeh! Ambiance: delightful, warm, loving atmosphere, like being in the owner's kitchen. Come to find out he's the youngest brother of 3 and is running the place by himself now while his brothers have assumed responsibility for other restaurants. What a gifted family!

Best Mediterranean restaurant in Corpus, hands down. I have literally never been dissatisfied. Diverse menu that even includes some Indian flare. Atmosphere is super cozy and inviting, and service has been consistently good too. Do not come here in a hurry - everything is made fresh from scratch so you should be willing to wait accordingly.

Another hidden gem of Corpus. We honestly love this place. The service is great. The food is delicious, flavorful, and authentic. Been coming here for years and now that we moved, I had to stop by for a visit. I honestly never complain about prices because in my mind, you're going out to eat to a small business, not a chain so don't expect the prices to be low. Especially when the quality is perfect! Not that they were high. It's just my way of seeing things. You get a decent portion size and may have leftovers. But that day I did not. Lol! I was so hungry and excited of being back. Thanks guys for another great meal! Until next time!

My wife and I were visiting Corpus Christi, and found the Ginger Cafe on Yelp. We went here because they seemed to get very good reviews here. Regrettably, our food was arguably THE WORST Mediterranean food I've ever eaten. We ordered a Greek salad, an appetizer plate, and a Sharma plate. All of this was to go. When I got home and unwrapped the food, it was nearly impossible to distinguish the Greek Salad from the Sharma plate. I expect whichever inept kitchen oaf was preparing the order made up two Sharma plates, realized his error, then threw some feta cheese , and greens on top and closed the box. The meat was all chopped into pea size pieces and tasted like it had been sitting on a steam table for weeks. Likewise, their was no difference between the Taziki sauce and the Greek salad dressing. Did I mention the whole wheat pita bread that had the consistency of cardboard and tasted like recycled paper towels? Oh , lest I forget , the appetizer plate! Here we were give tabouli that was rancid , amateur hummus with no tahini and scarce trace of lemon, canned stuffed grape leaves, baba ganoush and falafel that tasted like it had also been made some days before , and could have easily doubled as a fishing weight. I hate wasting this much time writing a review for a truly awful restaurant, but I felt an overwhelming need to set the record straight.

First time eating here & their food is great. The staff gave us excellent service & made my husband and I feel welcome.

i am blown away by how good this restaurant is!! The menu is super diverse and lots of good choices which made ordering difficult haha The service here is also amazing, they help box and bag everything for you and are truly so kind and attentive. I ended up getting the butter chicken and a combo plate appetizer. The combo platter was so-so (6/10) for me but i really loved the hummus. The butter chicken on the other hand was a 10/10 for me. SO amazing. Definitely would come back

Good food, but incredibly slow service the last time we were there, so I knocked off a star for that. I am also unimpressed at the 'corkage' charge when you bring your own booze. To be honest, it's saving the restaurant owner a great deal of time and trouble to NOT have an alcohol license and all that messing around with the TABC. Squeezing extra money out of customers who still choose to come to the restaurant but bring their own booze seems a little unfair. Yes, I know other restaurants do it, but this is a Cafe. Not 'fine dining'.

We just ate some of the best food we have ever eaten. We always go for kibbeh. But try different entrees. This time was the Lamb chop plate. Spouse agreed with the chicken tikka. Baklava for dessert, but that seemed too small but was good.

Such a great place that is so clean and spacious. There were so many vegetarian dishes. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Baba Ghanouj and the Dolmatis. Hands down, some of the best food I've had recently! And the server was so nice friendly and constantly checking on us!

Update 10/31/23 They join the ever growing list of greedy restaurants who think they are entitled to a tip for pickups. I haven't eaten the food, how are you getting a tip? You haven't served me, cleaned up after me, refilled my drink... how are you entitled to a tip. Unfortunately they know when you place the order whether you have tipped or not... it's almost like a bribe. They changed part of my order, claiming they don't have lamb chops. Or is it a bit of f*ck you because I didn't tip?? Damn! I'm glad I didn't tip. They got the order completely wrong. No extra lamb chop, No Kibbeh, No potato wedges, white meat chicken was not white. Absolute garbage. Curry went straight in the trash and they refuse to give me a refund for the missing items.

Ordered delivery from this restaurant. It was a vegetarian Mediterranean option that seemed enough for a meal and it definitely was. The hummus and baba Ghanoush were so creamy and delicious. Baba ghanoush was wonderfully tangy. The tabouleh was also tangy/lemony and I enjoyed eating that with the chips and hummus. The falafel came out steaming. The taste was interesting, it was more dense than other falafel I've had and the outside was very hard and crisp. Unsure if this is the way they fried it or maybe it had been double friend? The dolma also yummy. I love dolma anywhere. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because of the falafel, I've had better elsewhere. I would try this restaurant again in person

Service is extremely slow even when it's not busy and the quality of food and portion size has gone down. Overpriced and underwhelming flavors. Really disappointed cause I used to think highly of this place. Sadly, we won't return :(

Friendly staff and large dining area. I had the mixed combination and my husband a huge Greek salad both Delicious and authentic flavors !! Such big servings we had to take some home . Really a nice first visit and our server yesh was so nice and helpful . If. You like Ginger the drink was definitely tasty either way fresh ginger pieces .

Great food and great service. Our server was very friendly and helps. It did take a very long time for the food to come out and my hydroid came out at least twenty minutes before mine. That may need a little attention, but the food was good and it was very clean.

Food is always good! I noticed new servers but everything was very good! Prices have gone up post Covid but food is still good.

This is a nice, small, family-owned restaurant. The ginger tea and coffee were authentic and very flavorful. We tried various kabobs plates at about $22/plate. This is the only Mediterranean restaurant I have found in the city with such a wide menu. We would visit again.

If you have never had fresh ginger ale, give this one a shot. It's amazing. Food is tasty too

We had very nice service and delicious food from this unassuming little Mediterranean restaurant hidden in the corner of a strip of stores. My wife had the chicken shawarma and I had the lamb masala. Both dishes were very good but I think I won this time and found a new favorite dish of mine in the lamb masala which has a perfect amount of spice. It was a little bit of a drive from where we stayed on Padre island for our trip to the beach but worth it and we'll definitely be back.

Stopped for lunch as we were leaving Corpus Christi, wow what a find! I ate two appetizers and the hubster had the Greek salad. Portions were great and everything was delicious. Probably the best falafel I've had!

The food was amazing but it seemed a little pricey for the portion size. The service was good and the tea was on point.

We eat here every time we are in town. This visit was far better than the last two. New management? Service was top notch. The lamb shanks and "butter chicken" were outstanding. The butter chicken is chunks of chicken in a bowl of delicious red sauce. The atmosphere is nice but I still wonder about the jazz music playing?

Went today. There were 2 other tables of guests when we arrived. Sat at a booth where the facade on the wall had been removed & it was stained dry grout. Ordered something in a bread bowl that looked so unappetizing Lt greenish & chunky. The staff was okay at best. There was Christian music playing loudly. At first it was kind of weird funny that it was blaring but after the third song about the Holy Ghost and Virgin Mary... So inappropriate. The whole vibe was strange. Brought 80% of my super greasy food home but doubt I'll be eating it for the same reason I didn't eat it at lunch. This place used to be so good.

In corpus for an anniversary trip and wanted to try something new. When we first walked in we were greeted very happily! The place was very clean with calming lighting. Automatically we were checked on and served drinks. Our waiter was lovely with high energy and super sweet, would come again just to experience her customer service. Food arrived quickly, there was a mix up with my food but they were so polite and fast about fixing it that it doesn't even matter. I've never tried most of the things I ordered but was pleasantly surprised by everything. Would eat here again!! And thank you to our waitress Maribelle.

Pretty yummy food! I got the bunny chow which is chicken in an Indian sauce inside a bread bowl, with rice. It was a little grainy but great flavor. We also got salads & falafel which were delicious. The waiter was very nice, put the salads on the house because we originally weren't going to try them but he wanted us to. My only complaint is the prices - it seems they haven recently raised all of their items $4 each. My meal used to be 16.99 and is now 20.99. I understand food costs rising but the prices are very high.

Had a nice dinner at Ginger Cafe during a trip to Texas. It was nice to find a place serving such a variety of cuisines such as Middle Eastern, South Asian , Italian etc etc . We tried the Penne Alfredo pasta and the Combo Platter from the Appetizers. Both of them were really good and tasted fresh.

There was only one other couple in the restaurant when we arrived. When we placed our drink order we were informed that they do not serve alcohol but they are BYOB with a $7.00 fee and you can go to the liquor store down the street. We opted to just have tea and water. We ordered hummus for an appetizer. It was very good served with warmed pita bread and fried pita chips. My husband had butter chicken and I had Mediterranean Mushroom which was a chicken breast with a mushroom sauce and feta cheese. Both entrees were delicious with generous portions. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back again...with our own alcohol.

We followed all the great reviews and ended up here. My wife and I shared the mixed grill kebabs, beef, chicken and kefta and grilled veggies...yum, basmati rice and garlic herb butter sauce. We also shared a cup of lobster bisque....very tasty. Our buddy got and loved the chicken hummus shawarma plate, she zeroed in on the hummus, the chicken was an added bonus. We'll be back for more of these goodies. The service was friendly and informative.

i haven't gone since before covid. the food is great. the service then was horrible

We were told they were out of shrimp and falafel. The pasta bolognese was served with spaghetti rather than the angel hair that was on the menu. The butter chicken was dry. This is not the same restaurant. It was a couple years ago under Chef Jordan. We will not be back.

Service is quick online and dine in. Food is fresh and flavorful. The establishment is a little hidden but for for a nice dinner date or family outing.

The food was dry and it did not taste as good as other Mediterranean restaurants in other cities. I understand that Corpus Christi does not have much of a choice but still, this is not the place to go. Ambiance was alright. It felt cozy in general. I have no complaints about the service.
