"At Ginger Exchange’s Symphony location, diners can share scorpion bowls, mai tais, and more by the bucket ($26, meant for three or more people). There are also two-person versions for $19. Try them out in conjunction with the restaurant’s happy hour food specials at the bar and high-top tables, available between 3 and 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close every day." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Went to the Boston Symphony and stumbled upon this place. The avocado salad was so good!!! Would order that every time I visited. The avocado tofu poppers were delish. The spicy edamame were a bit messy. I’d prefer to order the spicy sauce on the side next time. The lettuce wraps with shrimp were super flavorful & messy. They did not have cocktails available at 1pm.

Not bad. Not to die for. We went about 40 mins before closing time. The sake was not hot enough and super light. I’ve had better. The Korean bbq beef was so hard we had to return it. The sushi pizza was really good, the house fried rice came with 2 whole breaded chicken breasts on top. Because we asked for all the extra meats. After we paid, we literally got kicked out. The server passed by and said “we are closing ok”….not nice. We knew the closing time. And if we dined and paid, at least have the decency to let us walk out without rushing us. We are not from this area. But I don’t see me coming back to this spot when we come back.

Google
I was looking for a place for a nice dinner before concert and saw this place and thought I'd check it out. The chicken fried rice was a little expensive but really good ingredients and tasted great. Crab Rangoon actually had some crab meat, and were plated nicely. They also have a decent drink selection so got a Downeast. As for the place, the doorway had construction around it and looked a little beat up, but inside it was a nice clean space, albeit crowded during the dinner rush. Service was also a little slow during the rush, but they correctly filled my order and were friendly and accommodating. Overall it seemed a bit expensive for a bar type setup, but has high quality food and decent service

Google
Went here with 3 friends. the Christmas roll was to die for I got 2 bc it was so yummy. My friends got me a lava cake for my birthday some places charge for bday dessert others don’t, this place did. No big deal. It was more expensive than I thought it was gonna be but it wasn’t too bad. I’m definitely going to get the Christmas roll again soon😋

Google
An amazing restaurant with delicious food quick service and great views of the city around. A friendly atmosphere with a large menu and plenty of drinks to go around! The food was incredible and I can't wait to go back there!

Google
It was ok. I got the symphony pad that which was loaded with peanuts (love) but the sauce a bit much. Also wondering if there was msg in it. Felt a bit off mid way and didn't finish. Msg makes me sick. But, they were very nice and pleasant. My man loved his sushi 🤢 lol

Google
All the food excellent; 5 of us dinned. The server was okay, brought our entrees out immediately after the appetizers instead of letting us finish them. Appetizers were very good; shrimp lollipop & spring rolls. I wish there were more iced tea options. Thai iced tea was great though. We've eaten here at least a dozen times and love the food.

Yelp
Small, hard to find place, but worth the effort. Service was excellent with a nice selection of craft beers on tap and wines. Good portions on the set meals and reasonable prices.

Yelp
Good food but wait was way too long! Came here on a Saturday night before a symphony concert and it was quite crowded but got a seat right away since we had a reservation. However, it took the waiter nearly 20-30 minutes to take our order. Two of our dishes came out in a semi-reasonable amount of time but the others came about 15 minutes later. Maybe the kitchen was backed up because the place was so busy but I'd expect an establishment like this to know how to handle a crowd. That being said, the food was quite good and I enjoyed my meal. I ordered Mama's fried pork dumplings and the Korean Beef which was really just bulgogi. I'd come back but not if I were pressed for time. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 2/5 Ambience: 4/5

Yelp
I've never actually been to this location before, so I can't speak to the atmosphere or the service, but I have ordered the Soy Garlic Korean Chicken Wings probably 7 or 8 times now. I love Korean fried chicken, and Ginger Exchange has a version that is slightly cheaper than some of the major chains out there but just as delicious. Even when ordering delivery, they still come hot and crispy. Soy Garlic Korean Fried Chicken (8 pieces): The chicken itself is always extremely juicy and hot. Each bite tastes fresh and crunchy, which is one of the best things about Korean Fried Chicken in my opinion. And then, when you'd expect a soy garlic sauce to make the crunch turn soggy, it somehow doesn't. I do have to say that the soy garlic sauce is a tad on the sweet side, but I can't fault this dish for much other than that. The fact that it is so consistently tasty and crunchy is amazing. The 8 piece chicken comes with 4 wings/flats and 4 drumsticks, and both are pretty large. The drumsticks are always my 2nd favorite, but the crispy coating covers the entire piece and you can just gnaw on the bone to get every last bit of flavor. The wings/flats come with the joint on them and a little nub of extra bone that is also covered in the tasty batter and really adds a nice extra crunch. Normally, I can eat upwards of 10+ wings, but the 8 soy garlic wings from Ginger Exchange actually fill me up - and sometimes I even finish with 1 or 2 leftover. It's really a great deal for something with such great quality - 4/5!

Yelp
4 stars for the food 2 star for the drinks 3 stars for the service We were going to see a show at BSO at 2 so decided Sunday to stop here for a bite and a drink before hand. When we arrived at opening (noon) it was pretty empty (it did fill up). We asked to sit at the bar. There was no bartender the entire time we were there. We went here specifically because it had a bar and we enjoy sitting at the bar. I was a little unnerved when I saw our waitress reading recipe cards to make our drinks. He ordered a mai tai- which she admitted she made the wrong drink so gave it to him free (it was pretty bad but he drank it). I ordered a French martini and I'm pretty certain it had no chambord in it- and it was served in a sniffer glass with a lemon wedge. Needless to say a second drink wasn't offered to us and we didn't ask for one!! They are very short staffed. Our waitress was pleasant but she was stretched much too thin and that impacted service. The food here was the star. He got the double spicy tuna- said it was the freshest raw fish he's had in a while. Only problem was it wasn't spicy- at all. I got the bipmbop stone bowl- this was pretty good. More rice than anything else but the meat was tasty. We did get a small chicken wing (4 pieces were $9.50!!) but they were very good. There are so many options around symphony hall in the area- this is pretty convenient being across the street...it's a shame they aren't staffed to set themselves apart from the others. We would try it once more- but would leave if there was no bartender there again. That was a sign for sure.

Yelp
I'm pretty picky about pan Asian cuisine but thankfully a friend recommended this hole in the wall off the symphony stop. It was in decent walking distance from our hotel. And it was a cold day too - the ginger honey tea was the perfect drink for comfort. I ordered the Korean beef rice plate. I needed something simple. The rest of my party went for the bibimap. The beef was the right kind of cut and chewyness. The flavor was delicious and it was what I needed after a red eye flight from LA. The ambience is pretty simple. It's a small restaurant with places to store your winter coat. Service was very friendly. If you're here, the ginger honey tea is a must!

Yelp
Had the Symphony pad thai with chicken. The dish was overall too sweet; the dish was touted as being more flavorful, but I'm not sure that that made it any better. There needed to be more bean sprouts in the dish, and in general needed more complexity. The peanuts were a good touch though. The makimono salmon was delicious though on some level rather ordinary. The accompanying spring roll didn't have enough veggies inside. Initially music was too loud but got better at end. Ginger Exchange had its heyday when it opened in Inman a decade ago, but I question whether they were are thinly spread out too thinly. I do prefer their sushi rice now though compared to before.

Yelp
Had a really nice lunch here today with friends and celebrating a birthday. After a fun and energetic Zumba class at the Y next door, we all trooped in here just steps away. Very convenient and appreciated the proximity especially since it's cold today and skies are grey so it was nice to get inside. The interior feels cozy, had plenty of seating and was actually not too crowded - it was a little after noon. Their menu is extensive with lots of options ranging from Thai to Chinese, Japanese and Korean dishes. Lots of rice and noodle dishes. They also have sushi. I tend to get salmon a lot when I eat out and today was no different. They do have different kinds - miso, teriyaki and simply seared - I got the latter with steamed white rice. It was great - nice crispy on the outside and tender inside and well seasoned. It came with bok choy which was perfectly cooked. I appreciated the wedge of lemon and squeezed it all over the salmon and veggies and it was all really tasty. It's a decent sized portion and I could have potentially finished it but decided to leave some so I'll have leftovers to enjoy another yummy meal. The hubs got the kung pao chicken with rice and thought it was okay, not really authentic. Others liked their food I think - chicken fried rice, veggie bento, veggie sushi and Thai red curry. Service was a bit slow in the beginning- we waited a while before they came to take our order even though the restaurant wasn't too busy. But the food came out quickly and our waters were filled adequately. For the birthday girl, they brought out a small warm molten chocolate cake with spoons for everyone and it was so amazing. I usually don't have much of a sweet tooth and almost didn't try it, but I'm glad I got a small bite - it was soo warm and soft, gooey and delicious and wasn't too sweet. Very decadent!! Overall nice birthday lunch with friends and will be back to try other dishes!

Yelp
I have fond memories eating here a number of times around a few years ago. The Bao Baos were excellent I remember. Decided to try takeout just now, which was fantastic! The drunkard's noodles with chicken was very good, reminded me of one of my favorite Chinese noodle dishes, Chow Fun. The sushi rolls we ordered were all fantastic: the shrimp tempura, salmon avocado, and White Mountain maki. I had a taste of the Korean beef too which was very tasty, along with the pan seared gyoza. One of my favorite Asian fusion restaurants in Boston!

David H.

Yelp
Convenient to symphony hall. Fun Asian menu, friendly quick service reasonably priced.

Theresa B.

Yelp
The food was really good but my goodness are they short staffed! I felt so bad for the two waitresses running around trying to appease a very rushing crowd (there was a concert that night you could tell everyone was trying to eat beforehand). They were very kind and tried to accommodate but it certainly was a slow service.

Stephon M.

Yelp
I came here on Thursday before a show at the symphony. Overall food was good. Big problem... I just checked my credit card and they increased the tip themselves! This is stealing! I can't imagine how many people it happens to where they just increase their tip and expect nobody to notice. I am waiting to hear back from the manager and will keep you guys posted on how this plays out. I liked my food and the service was just ok. So this is either a bad apple or a shady establishment....I don't care how big or small the value is you should not steal from customers.

Chi S.

Yelp
The place was very crowded before the show. They are a bit short staffed so it took longer to get service and food. Once delivered, the food was delicious. Just be sure to give it an extra 30 minutes so you don't miss part of your show.

Laura D.

Yelp
The water pressure of the bathroom sink was insane 10/10 would go again highlight of my night

Daniel R.

Yelp
I absolutely loved it here. Everything we ordered was great. We got the GX platter, Korean fried wings, and the Korean loaded fries. It was all delicious. Service was good too. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. I also really liked the atmosphere, we were seated in a booth off to the side which was nice. Overall I had a great time here and do plan to come again.

Thaddeus G.

Yelp
Delivery takes hours, with several delays. Do not order from them until they solve the delivery problem.

Jodi D.

Yelp
Foods very good but service is disorganized. We got here 90 min before our show and we are going to be late, give yourself 2 hours or avoid. Only 1 app showed up and only half our entrees. Worst service I've ever had and I eat out a lot. And they got the order totally wrong. No serving spoons. No chop sticks Awful. Avoid

Letthefood S.

Yelp
This ginger exchange is in a great location for people who live in the area or commute. When I went I believe it must have been the owner and one other lady who were the servers. The service to put in our order was timely. Seeing as though there weren't many servers the food took a while to come out. I had some issue with the cleanliness of the place, the seats we were seated in had a number of fruit flies which I thought was gross. The food itself was average not flavorful or what I have experienced at other Asian fusion places. I had the kalbi- flavor was not good and the meat was extremely fatty, fresh spring rolls- had little shrimp and veggies were not fresh, Korean fried chicken- this was the best thing I had there. I hope the owner sees this and gets better quality veggies! Place some hot sauce on the tables! Maybe get rid of the fruit flies that are at the last table before you enter the kitchen area! Get fresher produce and your sales will increase exponentially! Put some flavor in your soups! That area has a lot of international students who are longing for the taste of a home cooked Asian meal! I personally wouldn't go back here!!!!!

Yelp
Serving time visiting Ginger Exchange. The food is great. The service is great. The vibe is great. I'm looking forward to my next meal.

Yelp
Ginger Exchange Symphony is a short walk from the Symphony Station on the Green E Line. I walked in and was immediately seated without a reservation, right next to a table occupied by a pair of diners. Ah, no, can I sit over there instead one table over? The next several parties to arrive were also similarly led to this table, now between me and the two diners, and asked to be seated elsewhere. It wasn't like the room was packed. There were occupied tables scattered about, none beside another. I don't know why the host was so set on occupying that particular table, when the best way to seat tables is to scatter them about so that two neighboring tables are not stuck with one another the entirety of both their meals. The table he had attempted to sit me right next to was happily chatting away. Loud enough that I still heard every word from one table over. And they outlasted me, so they would have been my neighbors my entire meal. Not ideal for a stop for a quick and quiet meal before I headed off to my evening activities. After mulling over the menu and asking my server for her recommendation, I went with the Korean Beef Rice Dish $14.50 Tender slices of our Korean-style marinated beef served with wok-seared baby bok choy Based on a 2015 photo posted by Bonnie C, I'd say the portion of greens in the dish has shrunk considerably, as mine came with perhaps 2 and a half halved baby bok choy stalks. They were crisp firm, rather than crisp tender. The beef was tender as advertised, however, the marinade wasn't quite what I was hoping for. You say Korean beef, I think bulgogi, and this wasn't bulgogi. It was okay, but I love bulgogi, and so this was not what I was exactly hoping for. The portion was okay though, as I had some leftover to take home with me. Sounds interesting: Shrimp Tofu Poppers $7.95 (app) Sweet Garlic Udon Noodles (price depends on protein choice) Porky's Bao Bao (I wished they served a two bao appetizer portion)

Yelp
This place cares more about takeout than diners. Food takes forever and you feel rushed while ordering. Staff is visibly confused about everything from where people should sit, where to bring food, and even bills that should be given out (we witnessed all 3 issues). Dinner took forever for a very mediocre meal. The bathroom smelled really bad. I've never been more compelled to write a review.

Bella G.

Yelp
Just had the Alaskan roll and Kung Pao shrimp - fantastic! Roll was super fresh and Kung Pao was delicious, with just the perfect amount of spicy!

Michael H.

Yelp
The waiter spilled a flight of beer on me and still charged me for it. That was two years ago. I went back this weekend and the meat that I ordered was raw inside. This place sucks. I don't recommend it.

Richard S.

Yelp
The food was OK. When you are located across the street from Symphony Hall and just up the street from Jordan Hall and a theater, you should not dawdle every step of the meal (except, I admit, the check).

April M.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 6 (including me) and we had to wait 25min+ for a table despite the host saying it would be 10-15min. My bulgogi bibimbap bowl was good, nice and hot! However the meat wasn't as hot as the rice and veggies. Overall, would go again! It's just a bit pricey in my opinion.

Hilary W.

Yelp
If you are into Asian-American-fusion foods, then this place might be able to satisfy your taste buds. If you are looking for authentic Asian foods, you will be disappointed. If you are coming here with a large group, you should call beforehand to make a reservation to be safe. A group (6) of us came here around 6:30pm on a Friday night, and it was PACKED. Luckily we made a reservation beforehand. It's a place that is slightly more fancy than the casual eatery (like Panera), but not super high-end. Service was wonderful. The owner of the restaurant offered us Miso Soup on the house, which was really kind and generous of her! She also managed all of our drink orders efficiently. The 6 of us decided to split our bill 4-way, which might have been confusing for her, but she was very accommodating and brought out the bills accurately, with the tip already calculated for us! Overall, really happy with the friendly and courteous service we received. In terms of food, I am a picky critic when it comes to Asian food because I grew up with authentic Asian food. I had the Korean BBQ Galbi, which had a lot of beef short ribs with bones, bowl of rice, kimchi, and very little veggies. I will say the flavor of the beef short ribs was decent for an Asian-fusion dish, but it wasn't as authentic as the "traditional Korean recipe" stated in the menu. There was actually a decent amount of meat on the short ribs, also some ribs just came with bone. I wish they gave more rice with the dish. The flavors in the short ribs were very strong and it would have been nice to balance them out with the rice. APPETIZERS: Kimchi was DELICIOUS! Fresh and spicy. I really enjoyed it. The 6 of us ordered 2 separate sides of Kimchi to share, and it was worth it. Fries were ok, I wish they were a little more crispier, but it was fine. This was my second time here, which was a lot better than my first time. The reason why I am giving it 3-stars was because the food is OK-average or, depending on what you get, a little bit better than average in terms of authenticity and quality; it's also a little pricey, especially for Asian food in Boston. BUT, it's a good place to go for a group to chat if you're looking for an environment that is a little more fancy than Panera.

Madeleine G.

Yelp
They have have "Regular Pad Thai" and one called "Symphony Pad Thai". I had the Symphony style with shrimp, which has more peanuts on top and in the sauce. It was the most delicious and unique pad Thai I've ever had. The shrimp were cooked to perfection. The pork dumplings were flavorful, crispy on the outside to perfection. I highly recommend both of these dishes. Lots of the other food that I saw around me also look very tempting for my next visit.

Nancy H.

Yelp
Modern, spacious, and convenient. I ordered a spicy yellowtail roll ($6.25) and it was pretty messy. The roll was very loose, the fish wasn't the freshest because it was not luscious and buttery, however, instead of mashing it into a paste with spicy mayo, it actually came out as chunks of yellowtail! My friend ordered the Korean beef, pretty large plate of beef and bok choy, with a small bowl of rice. No water refill despite how empty the place was. They have happy hour apps and $1 shuck on Thursdays from 8pm - close.

Susan B.

Yelp
Delicious food but....the service is the WORST. I don't know whose fault it is but its ridiculous. About a month ago or more I placed an order online. I went inside and waited for the order. I waited approximately 40 minutes. There were other people waiting that got their food. Not me. They asked me the name and I told them. The staff went to the back to check the order and nothing. Asked me my name again and asked if I was sure I was at the right location. I was. Showed them my order slip. Nothing. Then the girl told me that the order slip never came through their online portal, Chow Now. She also didn't know how to give me my money back. I had to spend more time trying to figure it out how to get my money back. I left and called them back and the girl that answered the phone was helpful and it took her seconds to get me my money back. Fast forward to today. I placed another order online. I go pick up the order and it's there. I was happy. I get back to work and open the bag.....only half of my order was in there. But they damn sure charged me for the whole order I placed. I called and the girl refunded my money which I was thankful for but damn.... what a headache. I won't say I will never eat their food again because that would be a lie, but I WILL NEVER go back to the Symphony location again. Its so inconvenient when you have to deal with that kind of stuff. And I typically don't do reviews but this pissed me off. The girl that answered did offer to replace the order but who the hell has time to drive all the way over there in mid-day traffic after I just left from over there? And there is never a delivery driver to deliver when they screw up either. Convenient.....

Kevin P.

Yelp
We had to get an a little earlier than I wanted to but reservations were very important. I did find that the place filled up very quickly and they did have some great choices and a really nice staff and repair a ton of Chinese. I thought that the food was good the pricing was in the middle of what I would expect and it was right around the symphony which was awesome because we could go right from there to our show. Overall great little place nice and warm good space receiving a very different kind of menu which offered lots of different options and although I would've loved to have a little bit more options as far as the way the sushi was done and presented I think overall was excellent so I gave it four stars hopefully everybody has as much fun as we did there it's great little place to meet your friends and have a little fun.

Zoe T.

Yelp
Main dish was good, but the appetizer I got ( edamame) has gone bad (sour), it was added tons of salt to cover. The tip already added to the bill, convenient for some, but some might feel being tricked to add more tips.

Xingyan W.

Yelp
Extremely slow to serve, disrespectful staff that passes by us multiple times before asking us to order

John L.

Yelp
TL:DR - Fairly busy on during Fridays after work hours, but pretty good sashimi Pick - Sashimi, Pad Thai. Detailed Review This place was out the doors packed on a Friday at 6. The food was pretty good, but I'd like to think it was the location as it's by Northeastern and the Symphony. I found metered parking pretty close by. My date had the Pad Thai which looked pretty good, I myself had the sashimi of Salmon, Tuna, and Yellowtail. Very fresh. Food *Sashimi - Fresh, as you'd expect. Pad Thai - pretty good, not as good as a Thai place, but good for the area I suppose.

Katie A.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed. Placed a Grubhub order from here and only the delivery was right. Ordered fresh rolls and asked to replace the peanut sauce with sweet and sour sauce due to a food sensitivity. I got the peanut sauce. I also ordered Pad Thai, asking for no peanuts again and to add vegetables for an extra charge, got peanuts and no vegetables. Clearly the requests were not read, so if you have food sensitivities or allergies, beware! Fresh rolls are bland with no sauce and Pad Thai has peanuts, so that's a problem! Did I mention this experience was a major let down?

Alexandra M.

Yelp
The bibimbap is enough for 2 meals, so keep that in mind if you get it. I really enjoyed mine, and their hot sauce (gochujang) was on point.

Thomas A.

Yelp
A fusion restaurant that is located across the street from the Boston Symphony hall. I feel like this place doesn't know its identity. It has a bar that serves beer flights. That's odd for an asian restaurant in my opinion. Otherwise, the food is meh. This place has tasty food, but most likely driven by the MSG. The kimchi fries with beef was actually better than i expected just because they used kalbi meat. The pork bao is fatty goodness. Love the chinese grill sauce that comes with it. The bento boxes are a good deal. The Korean soft tofu stew was mehhh. Subpar in my opinion. The broth tasted more like jjampong more than soondubu. Friendly service.

Sanchon D.

Yelp
I'm an avid order of both Ginger Exchange locations and honestly I have no complaints. Delivery is fast, not overpriced, and the food is worth it! I usually get the Thai Spring Rolls, sushi roll, and the Mama's Dumplings...and I love it all! The first the fish is always fresh! They do a good job of separating the hot and cold items (delivery). All 3 usually runs $25-30 with tip which isn't that bad for a nice dinner at home.

Molly G.

Yelp
I am outraged by this restaurant. I ordered a salmon SASHIMI bibimbap bowl. When it was delivered the salmon was cooked. That's not what sashimi is. I find cooked salmon disgusting so I can't even eat it. I guess I'll just be hungry tonight. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sashimi I ordered through grubhub so I had to go through them to request a refund. The restaurant refused and said they were "sorry". Okay. No offer to send me something else that I can eat. I will NEVER consider eating from here again. If they don't actually know what sashimi is, what other questionable choices are they making in their kitchen? Disgusting.

Rui S.

Yelp
It's a typical 3 star experience, nothing terrible or impressive. The sushi pizza was creative I guess, although only about the form not the content or the taste. The tofu soup didn't taste bad but was different than what I had in Korean restaurants. They also have Chinese food which we didn't get to try which I didn't regret. To sum up, it's an Asian fusion place with inauthentic food (and because of that, a little overpriced.)

Steven Z.

Yelp
One of the few restaurants that is open past 10pm, which is appreciated. They have a variety of Asian food here, from noodle dishes to rice dishes to soups and sushi. In general, this place is a little bit more exchange than other places that offer the same. The interior of the restaurant is nice and clean, the staff is very friendly and the service is good. Food comes out pretty quickly (granted, I came at 10pm at night). The food itself was good, I enjoyed it. I'd definitely come back. This time I got the Mee Goreng Beef which was not bad at all.

Pris C.

Yelp
The dishes we ordered were amazing!!! kimchi fries are just a burst of flavor and the baos, i love them. The only thing is they are very pricey, i wish they were more affordable.

Michele M.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! reasonable prices, high quality, consistently excellent food, friendly service

Goku U.

Yelp
I came here for a holiday party. There were 10 of us and we were able to make a reservation for lunch. They gave us a corner table which was nice. The food was ok. Honestly, it wasn't so amazing that I'd want to come back. I asked the server whether he recommended the ginger chicken or kung Pao chicken. He was new so he was honest and said he didn't know but that people liked the ginger chicken. One person in our party came late and again asked the server whether he recommended the ginger chicken or red curry and without hesitation he said red curry. I was shocked that the server didn't recommend the curry to me....well when my meal came, I was not very impressed. The chicken tasted frozen, there was not much flavor. The Edamame was covered in too much salt. At least they don't charge extra for brown rice. Service was attentive, the food came out in a timely fashion. They cleared plates discreetly and were friendly. But overall, it comes down to the food. And today the food just wasn't good. So 2 stars.

Tony S.

Yelp
Like my first bite of candied bacon, I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit to Ginger Exchange. I'd just finished a performance nearby when the family decided to give the place a try. Being a Los Angeleno, I have unusually difficult (not necessarily high, but difficult) standards when it comes to Asian fusion restaurants. In fact, I have similar standards when it comes to dating. 1. She has to be alive. A. Fusion restaurant has to have some kind of live ambiance. 2. She has to dress well, and show minimal dandruff. B. Food dishes must have presentation. Looks MUST sell. 3. She can't be high maintenance, and NO I will not take her shopping on a first date. C. Value for money is a must! 4. She has to have good personal hygiene. D. Bathrooms must be clean (I compare bathroom cleanliness to kitchen cleanliness). 5. She has to be a good kisser, and not have food particles floating around her mouth. E. The food must taste good. Happy to say that Ginger Exchange met most of my standards, and more importantly, impressed the shit out of my uber picky mother. The sushi tower is not a new concept by any means, but their choice of ingredients and generous dose of sauces and roe/caviar was just right (a tad much on the rice, but I'm not complaining). And added benefit: they use Atlantic Tuna. The crab rangoon, standard, so acceptable. This is akin to a date having all her teeth. Pass. The Green Monster sushi roll, with shrimp tempura, unagi, eel sauce, and I think avocado (usually called "monster" roll in other places) was up to par. Very decent. Miso Salmon. Surprisingly good. I think the garnish could have been better, but honestly, they did this very, very well. Bibimbap. I wouldn't call this authentic Korean style the way they use their beef, but it was still a good dish. I can see why it's so popular. Mee Goreng..... ok. Being part Southeast Asian, and having lived in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore for several years, is the only dish that fell short of expectations. It tasted more like a sweetened spaghetti bolognese, which in and of itself wasn't bad, but not for what I wanted it to be. This was likely the only 'ding' on the menu for me, akin to a date that has poorly manicured toenails.... that maybe stink a little... but otherwise has pretty feet. Overall, including the excellent, excellent service from our server Jarvis, I easily give it 4-stars, and am happy to come back again.

Yelp
I visited here for lunch on a Monday afternoon. When i asked for a table for one, the staff seemed unclear on the concept of how to seat a single person at a table. After two people finally managed to do that, there was a LONG, long long wait for waiter to take order. Once he did appear, he was apologetic for the wait, and afterwards quite efficient. I had a rice bowl lunch special of teriyaki steak (steak, some veggies and white rice) with came with a a choice of several sides; I chose miso soup, which was unexceptional. I also ordered a salmon and avocado roll, which was perfectly fine. The food was decent, not spectacular, and for a first visit, the long wait was a turn off. I'm willing to give it another chance for sure, but there are many other options for this same food in the area, so you really have to be more on your game with service. On the plus side, pushing it toward, but not quite to 4 stars is the nice, clean, modern interior, and (gasp!) nice wooden chopsticks that don't come in a paper sleeve!

Yelp
Excellent service! Great sushi! Definitely try the lycheepolitan. The sashimi dinner was delicious. More than enough food for two if you ask for extra rice. I had to soldier on and eat it all by myself.

Yelp
I love Baobao here but inside the restaurant and downstairs where the bathrooms are smell very moldy. There is no good fresh air or proper ventilation in there. If you sit out front, there would be fresh air but I was seated inside, my whole lunchtime smelled so moldy.

Yelp
It makes me sad to write this review, but after the substandard lunch I must. I've been to every Ginger location , Burlington when it was open, Mission Hill, and here at Symphony. It used to be a place full of vibrant, happy servers serving great food. That's not what I saw. The wait staff was apathetic, and more concerned with her iphone stuff. Not at all friendly. The food was VERY mediocre, and nothing like in the past. The menu was anemic. This place has a takeout only vibe and pesky customers who come in are just out of luck. It's so disappointing. Used to be great. I gave two stars because I had several conversations with the owner in the past and she's a hard charger, really dedicated to "nourishing my customers ", her literal words to me at the time. Would have gotten one star otherwise. So disappointed.

Yelp
So despite not having enough staff on for a public holiday. The staff managed to serve us quite well without too much stress. The cocktails were yummy and very cheep at 7-$8. The food menu was also reasonably priced. We got the pork on fried dumplings, Korean fried chicken, and the ina spicy pork bao bao. The dumplings were delicious, however could have been hotter. I'll put that to the lack of wait staff. The pork bao were nice but not amazing, the chewy meat with the chewy bun wasn't a great mix. And not enough salad. Perhaps some crunchy cabbage would have gone better for freshness and texture. The fried chicken was a disappointment, the batter was too thick and oily. But the chicken itself was nice. It's nothing like a proper Korean friend chicken which is much lighter and clean. All up the meal was okay and at the prices you can't complain. They could be made a better by some simple changes. But if you're after a decent meal for a cheap price and cheap drinks then this is a good choice.

Yelp
This location is better than the one in inman square. Service is slow but they have cheap lunch specials and some happy hour deals! Their drunken noodle is average, bonchon chicken is okay, and the pad thai is pretty blah. Overall it's average but good for a student budget. Symphony sushi is waaaaaaayyyy better and the same price!
