Serving the Heights since 1976, this family spot draws steady praise for its grandma pie, classic slices, and friendly service. Highlighted by local publications, it’s a reliable go-to when you want straightforward, well-made pizza.

I always order my pie well done, and it comes out perfect every time. Whether it’s a personal pie, large pie, sausage, plain, pepperoni, or a specialty, everything has been consistently good. It seems like the owner—or someone who really cares about the food—has eyes on the business. The prices are fair, and the ingredients are quality. I think I even taste a nice blended cheese, maybe provolone. Keep up the good work!

This was my first time ordering pizza from Gino’s. I got the classic small. The phone service was quick and friendly. Delivery was quick and friendly. The pizza exceeded my expectation. Because of my experience elsewhere in the neighborhood, I thought it would be average and salty enough that I wouldn’t want to freeze the rest. I was wrong! The crust was light, the cheese was fresh not rubbery, and it was not salty. It was so good. No leftovers. Really hit the spot and from now on, I’m ordering from Gino’s! Thanks Guys.

I love coming to Gino’s. The pizza is always tasty, and the staff remembers me and my usual order every time I walk in. It’s one of those places that just feels good after a long day. Great service, great vibe. Highly recommend the chicken parm dinner too!

Google
Great pizza for take out or sit down. There are two sections of Gino’s: the pizzeria with pizza oven where you can get slices or take out and the sit down restaurant. We’ve down both and you can’t go wrong. The staff on both sides is friendly and helpful. The food across the board is great but the pizza is fantastic. They also participate in Too Good to Go with males me love them even more

Google
confused by all of the 5 star reviews; maybe i ordered on the wrong day. i ordered a plain pie and garlic knots for pickup. the garlic knots didn’t taste like garlic at all; might as well been just regular bread and marinara sauce. the pizza pie was bland which was the most shocking; i don’t think i’ve ever had bland pizza until today. it literally tasted like nothing.

Google
We were looking for a spot that had a nice variety on the menu for us and Gino’s did not disappoint! I ordered veal parm sandwich and my wife and kid both ordered pizza. Everything was so good! Our waitress was very friendly and patient with us because we took a little while to figure out what we wanted. I wish I could have gone back on our trip because the second half of the restaurant is like an authentic pizzeria and everything in there looked so good. Next time! Highly recommend!

Google
Awesome margarita pan slice and Brooklyn L&B-style sicilian slice and garlicky garlic knots made by master pizzaiolo Andy! Amazing sauce and tasty crust, a hard combo to come by these days! I'd get the thicker slices to really appreciate the flavor and chewiness of the dough. We're coming back!

Google
A local pizzeria located in The heights and is one of the best ones in the area! The pizzeria is pretty small but they also have a restaurant adjoining it. While the ambiance of the pizzeria is simple the service is quick and the staff is friendly. I wanted to try the calzone and when I asked the staff they happily guided me through. I went with grilled chicken along with olives and onions as fillings inside the calzone. Never thought it would be so huge in size, definitely filling enough while the calzone was baked to perfection, I wish the grilled chicken had a bit of seasoning which would have helped it a lot. Usually I have tried out their pizzas which are good but it was good to try something new for a change!

Yelp
Our favorite pizza spot in Jersey City! The Brooklyn slice with buffalo wings is always fresh and hits the spot. My fiancé even brought a box back to LA, and her nephew called it the best pizza he's ever had. That says it all!

Yelp
I've always loved pizza, but it's become a once a week habit due to my current condition. Gino's has come in on a clutch on a couple of late night occasions (returning from the city) and even planned meals. I've ordered plain and white slices. More recently, I ordered penne pasta with Alfredo sauce and broccoli via UE, and was pleasantly surprised. The food is always consistent. What I especially love is Gino's does not use garlic unnecessarily. The flavors are good and fresh!

Yelp
Pizza was ok, nothing special. Service was great- friendly and some smiles. I think this places focuses on repeat local customers which is fine- they might be used to the size of the pizza here but for us this place just comes off cheap. MAKE A REAL LARGE PIZZA & I dont care if you charge me $30-40. Just don't tell me what you gave me is a large and think I feel like I got a great deal for getting a "large pizza" with "8" slices for about $20. Essentially you wasted my time. Had I know their large pizza is an industry small pizza I would have ordered 2 and said cut each pizza into 4 slices each. When they handed me the box on my way out I knew instantly this was going to be a small pizza with children's size mini slices. Just a waste of my time I don't really care about the $20. Just don't lie to me and tell me it's a large and 8 slices. It's a small or "personal" pizza and should just be 4 slices. This place has probably been enjoying no competition for the entirety of their existence. As soon as this area of the heights turns the corner (& there are no more "Discount Stores" on every corner") a REAL pizza operator is going to open up shop in Jersey City Heights and this place will have to step it up or step aside. This pizza place had that old school pizzaria vibe, (cool 80's tables) that I like but the whitewashed decor looses the vibe and offers no coziness or comfort. The white paint gives it a sterile feel like you're in a hospital cafeteria. The pizza seemed a little bit more like lower quality dollar pizza more so than anything. Maybe this is because I'm used to NY & NJ high quality pizza. This place definitely wins the award for SMALLEST large pizza I've ever bought. 8 slices is a laugh! Sure it was cut into 8 slices lmao but it really should have just been cut into 4. That way you'd have 4 normal slices of pizza. I can't stress it enough, buyers and pizza lovers beware- their large is essentially a SMALL pizza. When I got back to my friend's house with that pie we all laughed.

Yelp
my GO-TO pizza in jersey city area! Found this place because my job orders from here anytime we want to cater lunch, or even just get a pie or something small. Since then, it's been my consistent go-to at home when I want to order pizza. All of their pasta trays/mozz sticks are great, always fresh, no complaints! Their pizza, stromboli, garlic knots and wings are a staple in my order and I've never had a bad experience! Never been into the location but delivery has always been fast and seamless.

Yelp
Was craving pizza and wings and found this spot on google maps. Ordered for pickup on the website and said it would be ready in 37 mins. It was busy when we got there and well worth the wait!! The people working there are so nice and kind. And the food was so delicious! Would come back.

Yelp
I left a review over 6 years ago, as I'm from Houston Texas. But every time I'm in New Jersey this is my pizza spot. I bring back pizza on my flight that's how delicious it is, I was there this year for Halloween to watch the Texans vs jets game and as soon as we landed I made my way to Gino's for the best pizza. I will be back march 2025 excited to come back and eat some more pizza

Carol R.

Yelp
Have been going there for ever !! We went tonight for a pick up order we don't live close by and something was left behind and Andrew had it delivered to us . Amazing food and people . Thanks again

Louis Z.

Yelp
Simply can't go wrong with Gino's. Best pizza in Hudson county for sure. Great Calzones, pasta dishes and SERVICE. Always busy so you know everything is fresh. I walk here specifically to order from them. I pass 3 other pizza spots on the way, no comparison. God bless Gino's

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood and I was hungry that day I was craving for pizza. To my surprise Gino was there . So decided to try. Yes it's your normal everyday pizza joint. Staff were very busy but polite. Sorry couldn't take any pictures. But it's a decent pizza. I tried a slice of buffalo pizza and was little spicy but loved it. I would go back again.

Yelp
A grandma with fresh mozzarella was anything but fresh. The cheese was the worst part. Then the crust was like wet cardboard. The meal would have been a total loss outside of the eggplant rollatini providing some moderate enjoyment and the tiramisu being rather excellent. This was a delivery order that came on time. The pizza was the real disappointment.

Yelp
(Delivered 01/01/22 SA @ 6:00pm): Would Gino's pizza meet my expectations of New Jersey Italian food!? On Day 13 of my vacation as I visited a very dear friend for the Christmas and New Year holidays, we spent a chill New Years Day (figuratively and literally!) staying in as we watched movies, TV shows, and ate since we awoke from our celebratory late evening coma, it was dinner time and I had Gino's Pizzeria bookmarked as one of the local places I wanted to try, and time was running out before I had to leave. With a new year came a new place to eat for the both of us, so I opened the Slice app (specifically for pizzas) and placed my order after I salivated from the menu and pictures I saw online. Would this be a great start to the new year!? PURCHASE Pizza insalata 16" Large Pizza ($23.00): This 8-slice pie was made with shredded parmesan cheese, fresh mozzarella cheese, arugula salad, cherry tomatoes, red onions, prosciutto, and a balsamic glaze all atop an airy light puffy crust, this had all the feels of Italy and I loved it! Plus, they didn't mess around with the amount of ingredients, especially the prosciutto https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Tdk20WWv5T_dXHoS5khMkA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich ($9.00): One of my favorite sammies, I always had to order this at any Italian restaurant I tried. First, it was delivered cut in half not wrapped in paper but placed inside an aluminum container - genius, because the paper would always stick to the cheese! Second, there were some thick slices of nicely-seasoned eggplant. Third, the bread was both soft on the inside and crust on the outside and reminded me of the bread bowl used at Disneyland. This hoagie rocked https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ipgILVqO7gTillDqZYWAqA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Mozzarella Sticks 6pc ($6.00): At $1.00/stick, the price seemed high, the dipping sauce a tad watery, but dammit, these were fresh and the cheese stretched for days https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=eLsYYnevvPxPpCe8f5hmag&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings Small Order ($3.00): A fairly large portion size of mainly large thick rings, these were hot, medium browned, crunchy with some softness, didn't crumble when bitten into, while the onion ring (not sweet Maui!) stayed intact and didn't pull out. Decent flavor while the ranch dipping sauce helped - tasty https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CE8yKy7eM0LHRUMadKSuDg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Slice Delivery + Other Fees ($3.00 + $0.95): What were the "other fees"!? SERVICE Ordered online, the process was quick and painless. To my surprise, I was given an ETA of 60-90 minutes when the order arrived barely 30 minutes later with a phone call from the delivery person - easy-peasy! PARKING (FREE; N/A in this instance) Since I placed a delivery order, no parking necessary - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Since I placed a delivery order, unfortunately, I had no idea what the actual brick & mortar looked like. Unless I made a special trip before my vacation was over, this section will be left incomplete. ATTIRE Temperatures were in the 30s, so I was bundled-up from head-to-toe. Otherwise, this place was totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Gino's Pizzeria was everything I expected and more and would like to try more of their varied menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=DgQvIir53-U-KH7zZxlhaw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw hopefully in their actual restaurant for a full experience. Based solely on the food and prices, I was very impressed. And, it was always a pleasure to support small local mom & pop businesses like this one. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $48.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Yelp
Honestly one of the best pizzas in Jersey City. Eat from here all the time! I just know this pizza place will be open for a very long time. Love supporting family business.

John H.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Every time I go in everyone is so friendly and the food is incredible. The tiramisu is to die for.
google avatar

Yelp
Great stop if you're looking for delicious pizza and more. Their mussels are one of my favorite things on the menu and you can't go wrong with an order of garlic knots. I recommend the Margherita pizza with fresh mozzarella. Only thing about Gino's Pizzeria is the inconsistency sometimes. Last time I went my pizza was slightly undercooked which was really out of the ordinary.
google avatar

Ho A.

Yelp
Pizzas here have a lot of good quality toppings. I ordered the Sicilian and Special Pizza. The Special Pizza was great! The Sicilian is similar to a cheese pizza with a lot of tomato sauce but the taste was ok only, not like the one you would crave for. Meatballs were good but a bit plain. Overall, great value for the money spent though. We were so full and had a lot of leftover food and only have to pay 10 dollars for each person.

Yelp
I like Gino's very much but only certain things. What i like is the fried calimari the chicken Murphy the chicken Marsala the chicken cattitore. They make great buffalo wings too. What i don't like is anything inasic Italian with sauce. The lasagne the baked zitis the spaghetti. The meatballs are good the pizza is decent but the mozzarella is thick so i almost choked on it. I definitely give it 4 of 5 stars even though it sounds like I'm complaining ill order again

Polina J.

Yelp
I have been a customer of Gino's for over a decade. We have gone there for special occasions and just ordered out. However their delivery service has gotten so bad that today (not the first time though) we've waited for one cheese pizza for over an hour and a half. Had I known that it would be this long- I would have driven there to pick up myself. The time they show in slice app is double what it takes. Heads up would have been nice!
google avatar

Stacey K.

Yelp
The pizza here is delicious, and the staff is kind and friendly every time I stop in! I've had some trouble finding a decent pizza spot in jersey (coming from Brooklyn) and this place absolutely did not disappoint.
google avatar

Yelp
#thankyouthursday I've been here many times over the years. Finally an update. (Part 2)Since I'm not from this area, Finding an Italian restaurant/ pizzeria was always a big priority for us. At first it was the pizzeria side that drew me in. Mainly takeout or delivery over the years. After a year or so noticed that Gino's has a pretty large size restaurant on the side. Dined in many times since then and yes it became our date night go to spot over time. They closed for a few weeks recently, but now is reopened for takeout and delivery only. A very good Italian restaurant is rare in The Heights area. Can't wait to dine in again, so we can have our bottle of red and a bottle of white with friends again. Prices are very reasonable. Miss my scenes from this Italian Restaurant.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Waitress was very accommodating as my sister and I had her 2 year old grandson there and had to scadaddle pretty quickly after dinner. Eggplant parmigiana was cooked just right and not soggy. My sister had chicken parmigiana, I didn't really ask her how it was... but the dish was empty when we left!

Sonia E.

Yelp
Such a great family run business! Friendly, kind and hospitable! AND great Food! Loved feeling like we were talking and eating at a Friends place! We

Yelp
We got the Grandma Pizza looked health . Taste is grest. Ambient scent is yummy. Friendly atmophere. Small place overall clean.

Ayman N.

Yelp
The pizza is sooo good, but I would say it's not worth it to try anything else. Tried salad and a pasta but they were pretty mediocre. But if you want good pizza, this really hits the spot.
google avatar

Ronak P.

Yelp
Typical pizzeria with all that you'd expect. This place defines a proper jersey slice. Great crispy and firm bottom but nice and soft upper. Definitely would recommend grabbing a slice or two. Favorite has to be the grandma square, the brooklyn square and of course the standard plain slice. Outside of the pizza I'd definitely recommend the chicken parm sandwich (with extra sauce on the side )
google avatar

Leydiana S.

Yelp
The grandma pie with fresh mozz and garlic is so delicious. Delivery was prompt and the pizza arrived nice and hot. I will definitely keep ordering from here. The leftovers the next day were still as amazing! Also had the Buffalo wings and they were soo good!! Can't wait to try more items on the menu!
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Amazing people working at Gino's. Large portion of food and quick to arrive. I would have loved more basil and garlic but I'm a spice person. Overall, would definitely stop for another Chicken Sorrentino after work!
google avatar

Ryn D.

Yelp
Best pizza in Jersey City. The entire menu is delicious. You cannot beat the old school JC way of Gino's. My go to.
google avatar

Sanjna S.

Yelp
Came here for a quick lunch bite and it was incredible! I had two Grandma slices which were soo delicious!! It was the perfect level of sauce and crispy crust. On a cold winter day this meal really hit the spot! They were making fresh garlic knots as well which were equally yummy. Overall it's a small cozy establishment with classic old school pizzeria vibes - perfect for a nice tasty meal. You can see their kitchen and the freshness of all their ingredients and cooking process - it's a great spot if ever in the area. It's mostly street parking so can get busy at times.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
The sicilian pie is 10/10, cheesesteak pizza was also delicious if you're in the area you have to stop in for some pizza!
google avatar

Dorothy S.

Yelp
This place is top notch. Consistent, friendly, low key. My favorites that I love: chicken orzo soup, cheesesteak wrap, house salad with grilled chicken. The portions are big, and very tasty. The guys that work there work hard and are friendly. Definitely a neighborhood staple. I'm here several times a month.
google avatar

Michelle V.

Yelp
Gino's never dissapoints! A staple in the heights with great food and pizza! Always our go to.
google avatar

Brendan S.

Yelp
This sounds odd, and I don't remember how this happened, but we order their white wine mussels as a delivery item all the time now and it holds really well. They're always extremely prompt on delivery, nice on phone, and the mussels comes with a loaf of bread that you CANNOT stop dipping in that sauce. They know how to do their mussels clearly. Went in about a month back for first time, nice spot, felt legit, had peroni on draft w cold mugs which is just a home run. They give you some really nice pizza like bread when there, feels like it should cost money but it doesn't! Pizza is good too, but frankly, I'm there for the mussels
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
Gino's has been my go-to neighborhood pizzeria since forever. Their specialty toppings and pies are good, but the classics are my faves. I've also ordered appetizers, pastas, and sandwiches before -- all good. The staff are cool people, and quick to help with whatever you need. Pro tip: delivery can be long (up to 45-60 mins), so don't wait till your starving to order.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Ordered from Ginos Sunday night. The Grandma pie was excellent. The cheese and sauce used goes so well together. Also had a pie with sausage and pepperoni, which was tasty too. One of the best pizza delivery place in Jersey City heights!
google avatar

Dorothy M.

Yelp
We moved to Jersey about a year ago and were looking for a good local pizza joint. Google lead us to Gino's. We haven't looked anywhere else. This is our go to pizza place every time we order pizza. We've tried Brooklyn and grandma Sicilian...awesome. Their regular cheese and pepperoni is also excellent if you don't like to go crazy. Yummy garlic knots and their buffalo wings are mouthwatering. If you enjoy pasta, try their Chicken Montebianco. It's my and husband's favorite!
google avatar

Margaret S.

Yelp
I've been going to Gino's since I was a kid. Everything is always amazing! And I'll forever be a customer as long as they are in business.

Yelp
Okay, hold the phone. I've been ordering delivery from Gino's for years and had no idea that they had such a lovely dine in area. Central ave has got a ton of restaurants and Gino's is not one to overlook. There are two separate store fronts- one for their take out pizza delivery gig and another for the sit down restaurant. The sit down space is enormous and had plenty of available booths on a Thursday night around dinner time. I was craving a classic Italian meal and the menu did not fail to disappoint. SO. MUCH. PASTA. The portions were delicious and filling and I'm still in shock about how low our bill was. Oh, and bottles of wine are 15 dollars here. It was Canyon Road but wutevs, I'm not picky about what I wash down a bowl of pasta with. We started off with a "small" Caesar salad which was more then enough for two people and was tossed with creamy dressing and crunchy garlic croutons. I was a bit disappointed about the lack of parm cheese on the salad, but it's okay, that came later in in the meal. I love when restaurants serve a unique bread basket, and the mini slices of tomato pie that they brought out were adorable and tasty. Next up was a sausage, pepper and onion roll with mozzarella cheese. I'm not sure if this is a valid complaint, but there was actually too much sausage. Not a bad thing, but I would have preferred some more peppers and onions mixed in. Lack of veggies aside, this was a serious roll. I was into it. And finally, the piece de resistance- a steaming bowl of penne vodka with grilled chicken. This was perfect. Lots of vodka sauce (just the way I like it), hearty pieces of chicken and perfectly al dente pasta. This meal was under 40 dollars. Wine- 15.00 Salad- 5.00 Sausage Roll- 4.50 Penne Vodka w/ chicken- 12.00 Even when I'm a bit of a ways away on Grove Street I'll be making appearances at Gino's every now and then. It's too good to stay away.

Yelp
This is review is for the restaurant. Came for a friend's birthday party lunch get together. I have never eaten at the restaurant before , though I have had their pizzas and to me pizza was alright . I prefer Rizzos. We had a couple of options when it came for the food . The starter was a salad, followed by pasta with either tomato sauce or vodka . I choose the former along with Chicken Parmigiana. Both were excellent. One of the best chicken parms I have had in a long time and they don't skimp on the portions .

I H.

Yelp
Friendly staff, good food, decent prices. Always walk away full, sometimes even with doggie bag!
google avatar

Sameera B.

Yelp
I got their 16" pizza and mozzarella sticks delivered. Up until I tried their pizza, I didn't think pizza from any place could taste bad. But for some reason, I just didn't like their pizza. It was so bland! The mozzarella sticks were good tho. I would definitely recommend mozzarella sticks tho!

Yelp
What an awesome place! I grew up in the Bronx and recently moved to Jersey City. I have been looking for a pizza place with a good menu, and I found it. And wow - for a decent price! My wife and I walked in a couple of weeks ago. She had a personal pepperoni pizza and I had angel hair in clam sauce. We shared mussels and salad. For a pizza place, hats off to the chef! We were having a lazy Saturday today and decided to order from Gino's. The woman who answered the phone was very sweet. We ordered a few items to share and definitely went over board, but you could not tell with the price! We ordered chicken marsala over angel hair, stuffed mushrooms, caprese salad and stuffed shells. Delicious and almost unfairly inexpensive . I also ordered a tiramisu and it was great. I definitely found my slice of the Bronx and am in no way surprised to have found out that the owner is from Brooklyn. I also saw quite a few soups being delivered to tables, and will definitely be back to try! Lookin' forward to leftovers.

Jemar M.

Yelp
Wow. They are not trendy or intimate or whatever you may think will Make a great meal or a date BUT boy will you be surprised how great a pizza is till you've tried theirs. Had the Buffalo Chicken and Grandma Fresh Mozz ----- wow!!! So tasty without the angst of the spiciness. Try it with blue cheese. The owner and staff are so nice, friendly and family owned too!!! Ever long for those neighborhood food places where you feel like it's family- come over! You will not be disappointed. My nieces told me about this place. I ate my share and decided to freeZe and bring it home 3000 miles away. Thank you guys at Gino's.

Yelp
The worse pizza ever. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Nasty owner and crappy service.

Yelp
Top 3 Philly cheesesteak pizza I've had in northern NJ. Every time I'm in the area I gotta come in and grab a slice. You can tell all the ingredients and toppings are fresh and top of the line. I highly recommend trying this place out. Staff is cool too

Yelp
Two sides to every story. One bartender goes to school works hard, vs. the other outright GREEDY. BUT YET "YOU GIVE THEM AN INCH THEY TAKE A FOOT", lol...young don't know how the real world works.....keep em going! You have absolutely no clue. You messed with the wroooong crew boy @ UDrewGINOS#Facts. You give a person an inch they take a foot!!!!!,,,, Typical....soooo 90's

Yelp
The Best Food in Town, Hands Down! Whether it's a sandwich, pasta, or a pie; the food is delicious and the customer service is outstanding!
google avatar

Antonio R.

Yelp
Walked in a customer, walked out feeling like family! Came in on the 4th with my girlfriend after searching aimlessly for some sort of food option after the fireworks. They happened to be the only food option, other than Chinese, open at the time in Upper Jersey City. Tim was such a champ for all he was dealing with, at the time and still keeping it cool. They were SUPER busy and still kept it going keeping all customers happy and fed! The server? Amanda is super green but still did everything to make sure all customers were attended to, and for that, I can definitely appreciate her hospitality as well. Every restaurant would be lucky to have a staff member like her.

Yelp
This is the last time I order from Gino's. Pizza was burnt and tasteless. Waste of $ and delivery driver upon leaving states "ayy, you giving a tip" ....first of all, it's already included in my CC payment and secondly you're rude as shit. So that's the final straw with this place.
