"Gioia, which translates as “happiness” or “joy” in Italian, comes as a pleasant surprise as it is not easy to find traditionally made pasta (based on a family recipe) of the type made by Piedmontese chef Davide Bonato. The à la carte is complemented by two tasting meus: Tuber, dedicated to the truffle and offering a sensorial and interactive experience based around this prized ingredient; and “¡Vuela!”, which induces a sense of freedom and invites guests on a global journey to explore the flavours of other cultures." - Michelin Inspector

Absolutely love the place. Fantastic outstanding cooking. Really impressive and innovative dishes with a touch of Italian cuisine. Great service, great ambient. Good wine selection. It's not a cheap experience, but definitely worth the money. For the level of cooking and service it's not expensive. Can't wait to go back.

This is a very gourmet restaurant and it was excellent! I can’t believe the set menu was only 90E per person! In the USA this would have been easily 600 $ at least per person. The presentation, the service, the taste, everything was amazing.

My italian fav restaurant in the city! 🙌🏾😍 My first visit to Gioia was back in 2018. They have made a long journey now and having the chance of experiencing their evolution has been simply OUTSTANDING. We tried their set menu called “¡Vuela!”. You can find the details on the website. It’s a 72 €/pp (drinks not included) set menu and you have the option to add the drink pairing paying 35 €/pp. Set menu of 8 dishes with loads of flavour and technique. Simply amazing! We really enjoyed every single one. My favourite one was the meat one. They called it ‘Su majestad, el Vitel Tuné’ and they are cubes of Wagyu meat cooked over low heat with a soft mayo of tuna, capers and anchovies with an air of Crodino and Cantábrico’s anchovy powder. It was DELICIOUS. The meat was tender and well cooked. And with this menu you will -of course- try their famous “tallarín al tartufo”. The noodles are homemade and they are made with fresh truffle, egg yolk and Cacio Nerone cheese. EPIC! Do not miss this italian restaurant if you have the opportunity. It’s in the city centre, in Chueca (our gay village) and you will be delighted! 🤩

Wonderful experience, clearly on the path for the star, such a pity that the Michelin inspector missed it. I suggest you to try it now. It's always good value for the money trying a restaurant before it gets the star. The truffle menu was delightful.

We had a great lunch at Gioia! The service was excellent service, and the food was beautifully prepared, very creative and delicious. The only reason I am not rating as a 5 is because it would have to stack up on par with a few notable tasting menus we have enjoyed in our life that I have rated 5 and it just wasn't quite there. If I could I'd give Gioia 9/10 and that said, next time we're in Madrid we'll come back. The tasting menu highlights for us were the truffle pasta (perfectly al dente pasta with a generous amount of black truffle), the veal medallions, the raviolis and the pistachio dessert. Not sure if I'd do the wine pairing again next time but it was a nice experience!

The service was magnificent and the food was great. Dish presentation is amazing! Absolute must are the “Punto Menos” meat which was spectacular and pasta “Cacio e tartufo”. We also ordered the pasta Carbonara and that left a bit to be desired.

2nd time here. 29euro chef's recommended course really really great value!!! Definitely go again!!! But they should change menu a bit. It is exactly the same as 1st time I went to.

Yelp
We have been in Madrid for a week and this was not only the best meal we had in Madrid, but one of the best ever. It is located in a cute part of Madrid, Chueca, I believe. We had a bottle of Lambrusco, the pumpkin ravioli, tagliatelle with truffles, the duck, and finished with a tiramisu. We even had a couple of espressos and a grappa. I only list all this because it came to about 150 euros for a Michelin starred restaurant. Amazing experience, amazing meal. Go...the service matched the meal.

Yelp
One of the most outstanding meals we have had. The tagliatelle with sliced truffle was amazing. The panacotta with little beads on mango was equally great. The service was excellent and they helped translate the menu to English. This is a jewal of a restaurant and alternative to the touristy tapas and and bars.
