Excellent all-round meal. Top ingredients executed with refined skill. A Highly impressive, generous kaiseki meal without the stiffness of some places. Staff are very friendly/welcoming and will explain each dish (often with Google translate) in english.

I came here a 2nd time. Love his meal fantastic. Good chef warm welcome with a smiley face. We had so many dishes crab, eel, grill beef was so amazing. I would recommend you to come once of your experience.

This was absolutely one of the best meals of my life. We were here on our honeymoon, me and my wife, and this was an incredible seven or nine course Omakase. Everything was unbelievable, super fresh, it’s a small, maybe eight or 10 seat countertop restaurant in Gion And you really cannot go wrong here. As long as you don’t have any dietary restrictions it is an unbelievable meal and unbelievable experience, and I cannot recommend it enough.

My local friends recommended this restaurant, and it was full of delightful surprises. The chef's professionalism shone through, especially with the use of charcoal, which enhanced the flavors beautifully. My local friends ordered suppon, prepared in various methods, completely overturning my previous perceptions of this dish. It's an impressive spot, ranking just after my top favorite, Sushi Amano. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, this place is definitely worth a visit!

The food quality is amazing, you can really taste the best of the ingredients. In the beginning they serve you four dishes of omakase and afterwards you can choose a la carte dishes. The taisho (chef) was very friendly and great hospitality! Around 15,000 per person if you also drink.

This place is fairly small with 8 seats at the counter. It looks like a family business but since we didn't known much Japanese we couldn't speak much with the chef owner. It is a lot of fun sitting at the counter watching them prepare the dishes for you. The dishes were top quality and the chef knew what he was doing. The ingredients seemed high quality as well. The other fun part was the rather complicated logistics of two people (a chef and perhaps a sous chef) preparing food for 8 people each at a different stage of their multi course meal using limited space and equipments. We thoroughly enjoyed it but wished we had desserts as well.

Some of the tastiest takes on traditional Japanese food I had during my 3 weeks of travel. I was feeling under the weather and almost cancelled this reservation and I’m so glad I didn’t. In fact, I was healed by this meal! Watching chef cook over an open flame was magical and each dish made me excited for the next. I ended with a beef stew that has my mouth watering just thinking about it. Definitely a hidden gem not to be overlooked.

This place is incredible! The numerous small dishes (7 initial dishes and up to 4 mains to chose from) were well put together and we tried some really authentic Japanese food that we had never had before. The quality of meat, raw fish and veg was brilliant and it all tasted fresh. The small intimate experience was unique, but felt friendly and fun. This place is not for the fussy eater and you should be willing to try whatever the chef's makes, but it's totally worth the price if you are!!
