"Giordano Bros. is one of our favorite spots in the city to watch sports. Yelling at the TV can work up an appetite, and that’s what they’re best equipped to deal with here. The sandwiches are huge and come with fries on them, so you don’t have to waste time putting your sandwich down to get one." - Taylor Abrams

Came here on a win for dinner on a Thursday. There was only one server but they seemed to keep up with all the tables and we had no delays in ordering or getting drinks. The place is a sports bar that serves food and variety of mixed drinks and beer. We came for the food - we got the turkey sandwiches. Highly recommend keeping everything on the sandwich - was slightly worried about how it'd taste with fries and coleslaw bit it worked out great. Also had perogies which were also yummy. The people sitting next to us also had wings that looked and smelt great. Highly recommend for a sports bar! And they're reasonably priced too!

Google
You really can't go wrong with this place, the all-in-one sandwiches are amazing. Fries, coleslaw and meat with a delicious bread! There is good beer, a great vibe and happy hour deals. The Hot Capicola is my favorite.

Coy Tran

Google
Sandwich was good but not great. Fries were tasteless and undercooked from frozen. I'm sure original Pittsburgh sandwiches are much better. Great selection of craft beers. Shuffleboard for $3 hour was fun.

Google
Cool sports bar in Mission. Staff friendly and good with the banter. Also the barman liked my shirt and gets bonus points for that. Sandwich is a monster stuffed with fries and coleslaw. Good range of draught beer. Local and imported brews available.

Google
A Great place to have a great sandwich. Old school style sports bar serving fantastic East Coast fare. The sandwiches are masterful along with the classic side dishes. A good place to grab a beer and some food while watching the game. One of my favorite places in the city. 👍🏼👍🏼

Google
We were here for a wings tryouts. Their wings were overcooked and chewy and oily. The buffo sauce wasn't bad but wasn't spicy either. The place is nice if you wanna come to watch basketball games or something.

Google
Best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Don’t mess with it (unless you have an allergy or something), just accept what they give you...maybe add hot sauce. It’s perfect. ❤️ Wonderful atmosphere and people too!! If I still lived in SF I’d be here all the time.

Josh Baker

Google
The wings are some of my favorite in the city. The atmosphere is great, it really has the feel of a Pittsburgh bar. Even though I’m a Philly sports fan, the staff still treats me well :)

Yelp
Man, this is such a bummer. I never leave reviews, but am doing so here in hopes that there's still time for the owner to turn it around. I was a longtime loyal patron of Giordano Bros, and then hopped on the Rudi's bandwagon after they took over. At first, there were some small changes with Rudi's, but it was still solid. Unfortunately, now the place is plummeting downhill in every aspect. Food, staff, prices, vibes. Just a lousy experience, and as someone from Pittsburgh, it hurts my heart a little. The cost for quality is egregious at this point, and i just don't see a reason to go back. If the owner is reading, I'd love to help get this place back on track. It's been a second home for me for 10 years, and it's a shell of its former self.

Yelp
My friend and I went to Rudi's during a football game and had the worst experience with the owner. My friend had previously been a patron at Rudis and her card was incorrectly charged after paying cash for her tab, but we wanted to give it another try as it was the only nearby sports bar. We arrived during the first quarter and the bar was less than halfway packed. We proceed to sit to the back as we were planning to eat first before having drinks at the bar. First off, the prices are ridiculous! $15 for a small order of wings and it only includes 5 wings, that's $3 a wing. The next part was shocking, we ordered our phone and the owner was insistent that we had to either pay for the food up front in order for the food order to be placed or alternatively we could've put a car down and kept the tab open. Since my friend didn't have the best experience I put my card down with the intent to close the tab out. The screen noted that my card was pre-authorized and when I went to put in the tip, the screen noted declined. I told the guy that it was weird because the charge wouldn't close on his screen but I checked my account and the charge was pending on my end. He told me I would have to put another card and when I asked him if I could have a receipt showing that the previous transaction was null (based on my friends experience) and he yelled at us in front of other patrons stating that if we didn't have money to pay, then we shouldn't of ordered at his restaurant. We were both shocked and walked up to leave and as we were leaving he yelled out "get out" as if we weren't already leaving on our own accord. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. The reviewers seem to have had the same experience and it's sad that this establishment located in the Mission District treats our local community like this. There are so many other grade establishments in the Mission and pop-ups that should be supported and this business doesn't have a right to treat customers disrespectful while running shady practices!!

Yelp
Service was more like if you were GAY, COOL!!! IF not, GET OUT!!!!! NO 10% OFF Happy Hour. Also only saw ONE old A$$ cook. And wide cook was looking at me like I stole a toilet paper roll after a quick piss. WTF happen to this place? $9 for a draft of Modelo? This was on a MNF game (1st game). Hoping they build a bike lane on 16th and puts them out of business too, FAST!!! LMFAO!!!!

Brian G.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Rudi's to carry on the tradition of Giordanos (5 start), but it's unfortunately a shell of what it use to be. The wings/sauce are still one of the best in the city, but it ends there AND the wings are 2-3x as much as they were not too long ago. The quality of the Pittsburgh style sandwich has degraded the bread is no longer fresh and soaking everything up, the slaw is really oily and the steak is not as lean. The staff is mostly on their phones with club music bumping for an empty bar which use to be packed with Sat/Sun football fans. Other than the paraphernalia and the sandwich, this really isn't a yinzer bar anymore. They need to bring back the yinzer staff to advise and make in-house pickles again or might be better off creating a new identity.

Yelp
Racial Profiling at Rudi's Sports Bar & Restaurant. Let me begin by saying that my partner and I have been loyal patrons to Giordano Brothers for many years before it closed down and Rudi took over. We've been coming to Rudi's since it's relaunch several months ago, we usually go once a week, sometimes twice a week. Today, my partner and I, experienced the worst "Racial Profiling" in the hands of Steve. R. (Waiter) & Owner, Rudi. We were being forced to pay before we ordered our food. Since we had already ordered our drinks ( not being told we had to pay in advance) we paid for our drinks. I have been coming to Rudi's regularly once & even twice a week, at this point, we would order our food and drinks and pay when we would finish our food. Our waiter, Steve R. was very adamant in us paying for our bill in advance. He explained to us that because "certain types of people" don't pay for their bills and leave. I'm guessing Steve R. was alluding to non-white patrons. I asked to speak to the owner, Rudi. Rudi was very hostile and disrespectful and told us that it's Rudi's Sports Bar & Restaurant policy to charge customer's upfront for their food and bill. I explained to him that this is the first time I've ever experienced this and never witnessed anybody else being forced to pay in advance for their meals. Rudi stood his ground and was very disrespectful and dismissive about the whole matter! I told him that this was very unprofessional in regards to how he's treating his loyal customers, to which he replied, "he didn't really care." It's a shame that Rudi (owner) would tolerate such blatant racism (racial profiling) toward non-white patrons!

Ron V.

Yelp
My favorite sports bar in the city. Great selection of beer. The staff is incredibly friendly. The fish n chips, the wings, and the onion rings are fire. I enjoy the old school sports bar vibe. And if you ever get a chance to meet the owner, Rudi, he's one cool dude. Total gentleman.

Steve A.

Yelp
Good selection of beers here. Service is great, nice folks and fast. Went during a Steelers game and they got a good base of Steelers fans here. Luckily they were all cool when i was there, lol. Ordered fish and chips and probably the best Ive had in a long time. Super crunchy and breaded well with good seasoning. Chips (fries) were nice and thick with the skin still on, Yum. Even the coleslaw was good. I didn't finish it because I was so full but usually the coleslaw isn't good when I order fish and chips at other places, so keep it up! I totally recommend this place for lots of TVs with service that are quick to change channels when games are over and great food. Go Niners!

Nyla K.

Yelp
I'm a fan of any place that plays the KC Chiefs for Monday night football. The bar wasn't packed and we got a seat at the bar and got a pitcher of a local lager. They also had the warriors playing so it was a win win for sports that night. The barmaid had a cute dog, Moana, but my dog was too occupied with his toy to give her any attention. We ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and a side of onion rings, which were a little burnt but I didn't mind it. Not too bad for bar food. Would recommend.

Kevin W.

Yelp
I was told I couldn't get my fries nor my burger to order. We only cook the bergers medium only and fries will be soggy , as you usually do, and not crispy because... "I can't ask the cook to make your food to order. Nobody else was ordering. There were only 4 of us in the place. I'm 64, no one has EVER told me I can't have my food to order before. Either the bartender was lazy IN THE EXTREME, or a right royal prick. I will NEVER spend another in this joint. I suggest nobody else does either.

Yelp
I was visiting SF for the first time this weekend and decided to walk around and find a bar to watch the super bowl. decided to come here to Rudi's because it was filled with 49er fans and looked fun! The door guy Zach was super cool and friendly and let us in. During the game everybody is getting hype and cheering. I happen to be sitting up on the benches (like everybody else) when I had some man come up and yell at me to get down. He was very RUDE, cursing and disrespectful and yelled as us to leave for no valid reason. He then stormed off. Come to find out his name was Rudi which seemed to be the owner or manager. not 100% sure. The servers Des and Lina came to apologize for HIS behavior and it seemed as though this is a reoccurring thing he does. They were very apologetic and covered our tab as well as brought us shots - which was not necessary but truly appreciated. I'm giving the two stars for the servers, the door guy and our mozzarella sticks that we ordered. Rudi never came to apologize for his behavior and for yelling at us in front of everybody else who also agreed he was out of line. I won't knock the actual service and little food we did eat because it was good but I will say I won't be returning because of the rude management.

Jackie Q.

Yelp
Super friendly, laid back sports bar with one of the better happy hour deals. The original plan was to go to happy hour at Picaro, but I got the hours wrong and we didn't want to wait so Rudi's it was. This is not the type of place that I would ever step foot in of my own accord, so I was definitely skeptical of what was in store. The bartender came over quickly with menus and confirmed the happy hour deals, then proceeded to check IDs. When it took us a while to decide on something to drink, she offered to let us sample some options. I decided to go with a sample of some amber ale and some fruited sour, not entirely sure which ones because I didn't see a photo of the happy hour menu on Yelp, but they were both solid choices. I was eyeing a canned cherry sour but was on the fence because I don't tend to like sour ales or goses, however the bartender sold me on it and it turned out to be a great choice. If you like straight up lemon juice like me, get this. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks which were alright. They come with either ranch or marinara sauce. I wish they had at least one lighter food option on the happy hour menu because I really wasn't feeling anything greasy, but this is a sports bar so I can't complain. Wines are not included in the happy hour deal just for the record. I see multiple previous reviews making a big deal out of the service charge, maybe I'd be saying some things too if I didn't show up for happy hour but given the circumstances I wasn't upset. I have seen bigger crowds at this spot for live music and open mic nights, but during happy hour it is much quieter. I'm not sure if it was the amber ale, the fruited sour, the cherry sour, or all three together, but I definitely left slightly buzzed. If you're looking for the alcohol effect, you'll get there fast at this spot.

Chrisleigh P.

Yelp
Just like Giordanos Bros with a new name but the same sandwich! So good and the only sandwich like this in town! You will come back craving it! Lost of screens to watch the games, but FYI there has been some noticeable uptick in violence in this bar. Multiple episodes of fights and smashing glass/ pictures. I would not recommend bringing children here.

Jared S.

Yelp
Today I tried their buffalo wings, and I like to think of myself as a wing aficionado, and they were the best ones I've had in the mission so far and I think I've tried about 12 spots so far. They were so yummy!

Paul A.

Yelp
I'm an old friend of the owner so it was quite irritating to be poorly treated by the bartender recently. He looked at me on 3 separate occasions while I waited but never asked me what I wanted. He even served people who got to the bar after me. I'll go back of course especially when the NFL resumes but for right now I'm a little not vibing on this place.

Wes B.

Yelp
I see that most of the heat on Rudi's is over the 25% service charge which I understand for to-go orders. For dining in although its a tad high the prices of the food/drinks are pretty low so I won't kill them for it but 20% is far more reasonable/fair. I grew up in Cleveland so eating the overstuffed Panini's/Primanti's style sandwich was apart of my diet from my teenage years. For those who don't know, this style of sandwich consists of Meat, cheese, French fries, tomato and Cole slaw in between 2 pieces of Italian bread. Price points on the sandwich are fair between $12-14 which isn't too much more expensive than in Cleveland currently. The slaw has a nice vinegar on them and the meat has that good grill taste to it. My go to is always getting turkey on the sandwich. A true food coma for many but I devoured this in one sitting. Decent tap list for beers but I had a few white claws while I was there ($6). Plenty of TV's to watch a sports game and look to have Sunday ticket but not 100%. Bartenders weren't incredible but this is the type of spot I like to eat and be left alone at haha. Rudi's is great for anyone from the Cleveland/Pittsburgh area who wants that taste of home in the Bay Area.

Jake P.

Yelp
Was really hungry when I came here ordered a Pittsburgh style sandwich and when I went to take a bit the bartender was grabbing a beer from the cooler below and indeed she wasn't wearing a belt or underwear, she was like 60, and it ruined my appetite not too mention the whole restaurant smelled like cigarettes

Angelica K.

Yelp
Horrible service. I've been here twice and will NEVER go back. First time I sat at a table and was ignored for 10 minutes went over to the bar and asked the bartender if I should order with him, he said no and server will come to my table. Second time sat at the bar on a Friday night, it was not busy but it took 5 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. I ordered fried chicken and clarified with the bartender that I did not want the sandwich but the meal! What do I get? Fried chicken sandwich. He fixed the mistake but blamed it on the kitchen. Never checked on me. Stood and watched the game I had to yell across the bar for another drink. Horrible experience

Lionel H.

Yelp
A 12 piece order of wings here is now up to $37. After tax and tip their buffalo wings are now up to over $3 each. I love this places food so so much. But seeing prices inflate about 79 percent in three years is horrifying and unsustainable. There used to be a 25 percent service charge. While that is not visible anymore, they now charge the same $28 for 12 wings and then ask for tip. Is the service charge hidden now? What is happening? When did $3 per wing become normal?! Was $18 in April 2023 $26 in October 2023 Now $28 in December 2023 That's a 55 percent increase in prices in 2023 alone.

John W.

Yelp
Good food at reasonable prices. Looks like a good place to watch a game. Comfortable setting.

Francis C.

Yelp
So far so good. Nothing of the layout changed which is great. Feels just like the previous ownership. We stopped by on a hot Tuesday evening with the dog. Bartender was super sweet and chill. Our dog was allowed to hangout. Ordered some wings which were nice and crisp. Lightly oil. The sauce on the side which was great. I think they have a good setup of tvs that would be great for football season. From what I hear they also still have the giordano sandwiches on the menu as well. Definitely be back.

Christine F.

Yelp
Mehhh. The place is a little drab and dreary. It feels like the staff doesn't even want to be there. Their menu is inaccurate - ordered a high west and got a high noon. The ABV on the menu didn't match what was on the can. The garlic Parmesan fries are overpriced for the amount, although I will say that they were tasty and fresh. I appreciated all the tvs, but I don't need to come back.

Stephen S.

Yelp
BBQ WINGS delicious and half-off during happy hour great deal. Staff very nice and open mic every Wednesday is awesome. Jake and Mike were especially welcoming

C-lo K.

Yelp
I used to come to this place when it was Giordano's Bros, everything has improved and it's a much better restaurant/bar/experience. Food is good, and more options than just sandwiches. Lots of beer and liquor. Staff is nice and lots of open seating. Came here for a UFC fight, I'll return!

Jeff H.

Yelp
A great Mission district sports bar option, Rudi's has a full bar, good selection of beers on tap and great bar food options. Rudi and his team are friendly, helpful and have the inside scoop on all of it.

Abe S.

Yelp
Fantastic place anytime to watch a sports game. Tons of TVs and great vibes! I've always gotten great service - and honestly? I love the automatic applied gratuity - I like knowing that the wonderful staff is well taken care of.

Taylor M.

Yelp
Rudi's took the place of Giordano Bros. Vibes are different. The sandwich is still great. I give 4 stars because of the 25% tip automatically being added as soon as you order food or an alcoholic beverage. I should be be able to decide if the server deserves such a high tip, not the establishment. Which brings me to the servers some are friendly while others are not.

Kevin S.

Yelp
I had the most amazing Pittsburgh sandwich! Loved that you can pick your meats. My boy friend had the fish and chips and it was amazing as well. Loved Steve the bartender. Very funny guy. Nice to have a friendly sports bar in the Mission.

Misha T.

Yelp
The Giordano Bros are no more. Long live Rudi's. Honestly, if you didn't see the sign you wouldn't know anything changed. Which is great! Gio's was perfect and I wasn't looking for big changes. I just want a primanti bros style sandwich and a zillion TVs. I'll get the wings next time, but assuming they also haven't changed (because why would they?) I expect them to be great. Will be interesting to see what amount of presence Rudi himself has. I've been at a lot of bars with him and the experience is... not for everybody. But I'm personally grateful that he stepped in to save Gio's and I'm used to his hijinks.

Natalie K.

Yelp
Great to be back. New name same bar. Love that they kept the hoggie on the menu and added a great burger, and oarm fries. Rudi and Ollie have brought back a neighborhood staple in a great way without loosing any of its original charm. Can't wait for football and hockey season.

Ismael S.

Yelp
Came here to watch the Warriors game with my brother and some friends got to say right off the back charging us 25% gratuity was the killer and the main reason we left not to mention the service was terrible and the food mediocre will not be coming back here. Save yourself an extra 25% because you're going to be upset at the service being absolute crap

Daniel P.

Yelp
The food and drinks were solid. The bartender was nice and friendly, I will come back

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Rudi's is a chill bar food kinda spot- but do know it's Pennsylvania style which means most of their sandwiches have French fries and vinegary slaw. Service was fine, beers on tap are what expect from any City pub. Fried pickles on menu are a huge plus, may have to ask for a dip, though. One must know: your bill, regardless of booze or food, will have a 25% gratuity added to your total. Might be why no dipping sauce was addd with fried pickles. No biggie, though- it's a sports bar!

mark n.

Yelp
Love this place! Staff are all lovely and food is great but way too expensive! I've since learned that they include a 25% gratuity in their prices but do not say this to patrons, so definitely misleading from their end.

Anuraag J.

Yelp
Gio's is back and good as ever baby!! A few changes to the menu (new apps, a burger, cocktails) but otherwise not much has changed!

Mike K.

Yelp
25% mandatory gratuity is an crime against humanity. They charge this for everything, including drinks. I came here for a celebration and bought a round of tequila shots (4 high end shots totaling $100) and was hit with a $25 "tip" for someone pouring 4 shots... I would've left a nice tip on those drinks, but $25? Highway robbery... Raise your prices if you want to pay your workers fairly and not piss off your customers. The way the ownership has decided to bill customers is just plain bad business. Will never come back (at least as long as they have this policy).

Bob R.

Yelp
Great neighborhood sports bar. Friendly regulars. It's definitely worth heading out to watch the games, grab a beer, and eat the wings (top 3 wings in the city)

Don E.

Yelp
Good place to watch a warriors game but added a 25% mandatory fee to the bill. Come on.

Steve B.

Yelp
25% service charge automatically added to a bill. I always tip well but taking the decision out of the person's hands automatically and deciding what a tip should be, regardless of service, is insulting, obnoxious, and ridiculous for a sports bar. This was much better as Giordano's. Won't go back.

Allison J.

Yelp
Rudi's is a great place to grab an all-in-one sandwich, wings, a beer or cocktail and watch a game.

JJ M.

Yelp
Amazing food and great drinks - spots run by fantastic people that care about their patrons - were lucky to have it back open, must visit for food/catching whatever game ya want

Eric C.

Yelp
Loved the sandwich as Giordano brothers, still loving it a Rudi's. However, 25% added to a to-go order of a sandwich is ridiculous. If you want to take a $12 sandwich to $19 and piss off loyal customers you can do that. 25% charge inside, fine you sign up for that, but 25% charge for a togo order is unreasonable. Please change this policy and I'll be back - often. And amend my review as well.

Jeannine P.

Yelp
Food and drinks for good nice selection of beers full bar! Just ate the buffalo wings supper good came with carrots and celery sticks I ordered a side of bread because I love the bread the use on the sandwiches! I'm a fan of the friendly service! In door out door! Lots of tvs for the games ! I'll b there for football season fasure

Sam T.

Yelp
Gave this place a couple tries after giordano bro's closed shop. Menu is mostly the same but quality is hit or miss. My biggest gripe is the 25% service charge. The service has been poor overall and I'm really not happy being forced to tip so highly for a bad experience. I'd understand 18% or even 20% but to be ignored and then be forced to hand over a quarter of my total bill feels really insulting. Also despite the bill appearing otherwise, a quick add reveals that 25% is calculated after tax. Don't think I'll be returning.

Eric I.

Yelp
Decided to give Rudi's a try (new Giordano Bros) and order a Sandwich to-go. Had to wait 5 minutes for the bartenders/waiters to notice me in a otherwise pretty empty bar (they were too busy talking to each other to notice people waiting). Once the food was ready, it sat on the pass for another 5 min with the other orders as the cooks rang the bell multiple times (again while the bartenders/waiters were too busy talking to each other). After all that to pay a 25% mandatory tip on all orders, even to-go, was really not worth it and to top it all the food was not as good as I remember. Really was hoping this place matched what I remember.

Scot S.

Yelp
Sorry, but I've been living in SF for 25 years, and never had a bar add 25% on a tab without even checking. I'm fine with 25% as a tip, but I like to be the one to give it. Hoagie was fine, atmosphere just like Giordanos. But has the world just changed that much? Include it in the price of the food if you believe in paying your servers that much. -S

David G.

Yelp
Rudi's is AWESOME!!! AMA gave us an AMAZING experience! Her attention to detail, (never letting my beer go empty!), Always smiling and soo funny! AND the burger was delicious! Definitely will come here again!!!
