"The downtown Detroit outpost of popular Chicago-style pizza chain Giordano’s has closed after less than two years. Known for its 'stuffed' deep dish pizzas, the restaurant appears to have shut down permanently over the weekend based on recent online customer reviews. The company's website no longer lists a Detroit location, and it was described as a business decision ultimately decided by the franchise owner." - Brenna Houck

Stopped here while in town. The pizza is great...Super cheesy. Good toppings. Crispy crust. Nice sauce....but be prepared to wait. It can take an hour for the pizza to come out so grab a couple of beers and some appetizers. We tried the cheesy bread and it was tasty. Lots of bread and cheese!! They have a good beer selection and a friendly bartender.

Clean restaurant. Nice tables and booths. The salad and house dressing were fresh, good and different. Waitress was attentive but we where one of 2 occupied tables in the entire upstairs. The pizza was bland. Had to add everything to get any flavor. The crust is soggy and water dripping from it. We ordered the special and chicago classic pizzas. Both bland and flavorless. The salad saved this review. The waitress said thats the way it usually tastes like bland, watery from vegetables. I don't recommend this pizza at all. I will not return. The long wait was not worth it.

They have maintained the same look and style of the original from back in Chicago. Nice small cozy place where you can be seated immediately. They give you full details of how long it would take to prepare their thin crust as well as the signature deep dish. What I loved about our visit over here was that our server kept checking in on us every 5 minutes from the time our appetizers were served till our main course came through. We ordered the garlic bread, parmesan fries and a medium deep dish pizza for 3 and it is was challenging for us to be able to complete it. The pizza came out nice and hot and did not ooze out any juices from the ingredients enough to make the slices soggy. On a summary, I definitely recommend this place to those who are into deep dish pizza as they would not be disappointed. There is Street side parking accessible as well as parking structure nearby so that is good.

Same famous Chicago style pizza tastes right here in Detroit. Their cheesy bread and wings were pretty darn good. The deep dish pizza was exceptional. This place never disappoints. Pizza does take 45 minutes to make so plan ahead.

The house salad was recommended by our server, James.. great suggestion, delicious! We also had bruschetta, half off during happy hour, it was good. We ordered the classic deep dish and was thoroughly satisfied.. Chicago perfection! James' service was great, and the young lady who shadowed him did a great job as well.. they were professional and attentive.

The salad was good but the pizza was TRASH!! They gave me a onion and pepper pizza... one slice should never have this many onions and peppers (there was supposed to be mushrooms as well)... This was a far cry and a slap in the face to the Chicago Giordano's.... way to waste $25 real fast on a disgusting Pizza (my bill was 50). Kayla our server was great however and service was on point.. Just sucks my pizza wasnt...

Giordano's pizza is the original from Chicago. They feature the Deep Dish Pizza with cheese that stretches 6 inches or higher!!! We orderednthe BBQ chicken pizza which puts Jets version to shame. We also ordered Calamari and more appetizer. Insanely fresh calamari with fried sliced banana peppers and artichokes, heaven!! It was large enough for my party of 3 to share. The waitstaff is professional and friendly, ask for Chantaye Jackson for your waitperson, she is the best! Jaquan is excellent as well, both of them are ready to serve, friendly, and attentive! The wait for a pizza is 45 minutes to an hour, if you are in a rush or can't wait ordered your pizza in advance so its ready when you arrive. Don't like deep dish pizza, the thin crust is excellent. The sausage is definitely Chicago brand, its wonderful. The upstairs dining has a wonderful sunroof, its light and airy, great for parties. Giordano's is a great addition to Detroit and Greektown!!

We ordered a deep dish Chicago style with half pepperoni and the other half chicken. Out waitress told that it will be a 45 minute which is understandable. Meanwhile, we got the appetizer sampler. It was served quick. Everything on there was delicious and we where half full by then. Then came the pizza, it was delicious. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and ofcourse could not finish it. Good experience. Extremely good service.
