Nancy Palese, Nancy’s Stuffed Pizza Namesake, Dies at Age 87 | Eater Chicago

"Often credited by others with inventing stuffed pizza, Giordano’s actually opened in 1974 — several years after Rocco Palese began giving away slices of his new creation — yet it became notable enough for that claim. I note that members of the Palese family view Giordano’s product as derived from their family’s recipe (Besch says the Boglio brothers’ pizza on Harlem Avenue was “strangely familiar” and “that’s how Giordano’s started”), and attempts at legal recourse were unsuccessful because a judge ruled too much time had passed." - Aimee Levitt

Last Sunday, we ordered to go two pizzas, bruschetta, and broken cannoli dip. We got home we ate the pizza had some of the bruschetta And then my husband opened the Broken cannoli dip for dessert. He took one of the broken shells and scooped out some of the dip put it in his mouth and instantly knew something was wrong. You’re under the sink, spit it out and started rinsing his mouth profusely. I walked into the room and asked him what was wrong and my father-in-law was laughing and he said there’s mold on the shells. I inspected them and saw yes in fact they do have mold and they smell terrible. So I called the store. I asked to speak to the manager to let them know what happened. He put me on hold most likely to go inspect the rest of his product and when he came back on, he told me that a manager would be calling me in an hour, and I laughed and said I thought you were the manager. He’s like well I am but the manager like the general manager is gonna be calling you. That was last Sunday. I still have yet to receive a call from The ““ general manager, I can tell you this my family is from Chicago and they love eating at this place and we will never eat here again. I would recommend you do the same because they don’t care about their customers. They don’t care about their product. They’ll sell you old and moldy to get it off their shelf.

Google
Pizza tasted amazing. Very unique style compared to the pizza I grew up with in New York. I personally feel that it could have been served a little hotter on the inside. Surface temperature was very hot, inside needed a little more. The crust was flaky and crispy which was nice.

Google
The service and cuisine are exceptional. We savored our calamari, fries, and beverages while patiently awaiting the 45-minute deep-dish pizza. This establishment offers an ideal setting for relaxation, allowing patrons to savor their meals without the pressure of rushing out. Tv’s are everywhere too😉

Google
After the delicious sampler appetizer. We got a large more meat deep dish pizza. I got a slice and half way through it I was stuffed. The crust was so delicious. For a $40 pizza is totally justified and we had half more then half the pizza left over for after the after drunkenness. lol.

Google
As someone who grew up in Chicago, the deep dish pizza at this establishment is 100% authentic. My family and I ordered sausage with green peppers and as you can see, we absolutely demolished it. Everything looked very clean, and the service was excellent. Our waiter, TJ, was very sweet; he definitely deserves good karma. Great experience 😋

Google
Was homesick for Chicago style pizza. Tried Giordanos in Summerlin on a Friday night. Our waitress was attentive, the pizza was on point. It was a bit slow for a Friday, but overall good.

Google
Delicious deep dish, friendly and helpful service. Be prepared - this goodness takes a good 40min to prepare. Bonus: Great views of the surrounding hills from the parking lot. I had The Special - meat and veggies - and thoroughly enjoyed it. The buttery, flaky crust was fantastic. It was generously loaded with delicious cheese and we'll portioned amounts of tomatoes sauce and toppings. First time having this in some years, and I still thoroughly enjoyed it. 10" was big for one person, I was quite hungry and only ate half. Shout out to the staff: they were very friendly to me, taking photos and happily engaging with the silly tourist I was being.

Our server, Baylee, was an absolute delight! The pizza was delicious and satisfying—I only needed one slice to feel full. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Yelp
So my lady and I stopped in to get a bite to eat. The hostess Annika is super friendly. We ordered the lunch special. Mine was the Chicago style deep dish sausage pizza. Robin had the traditional crust. We also had fries. I had the registration and Robin had the garlic fries. She loved them. The pizzas were amazingly deliscious. The crust was perfectly soft and crunchy at the same time. The cheese was perfect as well and flowed off the pizzas beautifully. The flavors were awesome. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great food!! Great experience!! Marcella was our server. She's the best!!! Definitely will revisit.

Yelp
Giordano's, located in the Horseshoe Las Vegas, offers diners the chance to enjoy the best Chicago-style pizza. Reservations are highly recommended and you'd have to specify if you'd like to dine in the patio area on the first floor or in the restaurant on the second floor. Despite all of the amazing options on the menu, we decided to order: "The best" tomato bruschetta Chicago classic deep dish pizza * deep dish pizzas takes 45 minutes to make due to their unique pizza making process The deep dish pizza is well worth the wait! Giordano's deep dish pizzas are generously packed with mozzarella cheese and filling based on which pizza you chose. Not to mention the pizza has a thick flaky double crust. Definitely the best pizza on the strip and I'm so glad we stopped in! Adding this restaurant to favorite Vegas restaurant list and I can't wait to dine here again on my next visit.

Yelp
After a spa day, I left feeling hungry. Had been wanting to try Chicago Deep Dish for YEARS, but haven't made it to Chicago yet to do so. I heard this was the place to check it out, so since I was 5 minutes away, what better time to try it?? Greeted by a nice gentleman who offered me seating and took my order. The atmosphere feels like a quiet sports bar meets pizza shop. Chill vibes upon entry, which was great. Opted for a build your own deep dish with pesto chicken and onions, and opted for the regular marinara sauce. The waiter/host explained that they took it up a notch in the back by using the same water filtration system as the original one in Chicago in an effort to make this a more authentic experience. He explained that the pizza takes about 45 minutes to bake, so to combat the wait, I added a started Caesar Salad after he raved about the dressing made in house. How could I refuse? The salad was crisp and fresh with lots of parmesean and asiagi cheese, and he did not lie about the dressing. It was delicious. The portion was just right to keep me busy for a few, accompanied by a root beer - enter my only complaint of the day. The cups were average in size, and filled to the top with ice, which left about a gulp worth of soda in it. Luckily, I was watching my soda portions so I did not complain, but he did have to refill my cup 3 times to get to a normal size cup of soda. Enter the pizza. It was piping hot upon meeting my table, and the waiter was gracious enough to do a second cheese pull shot for me because I missed the first one . The pizza was delicious. Soooo much cheese, and the pesto chicken and onions set the stage for a satisfied customer. I was not as big of a fan of the crust separately, but wrapped in the cheese and sauce made a perfect balance of cut to the density of the toppings. Was a bit pricy, coming in at a $40+ meal, but I had plenty of left overs to take with me for lunch and dinner as 2 slices is more than enough. Side note: For those that do not avoid pork, they do have a lunch special comes with a personal pan pizza for much less, however, it is not customizable (cheese, pepperoni or sausage are the options). Overall great experience for a first timer.

Yelp
This was happily one of the highlights to our Vegas trip. I was surprised it was not more busy. The environment felt like family diner meets sports bar? Multiple TVs on with various content but the sound was not on, so it was not overwhelming. The music playing was awesome 2000s vibe Pepsi drink products. The appetizers were great, we got the sampler & the Arancini, a thin crust pizza & the meat deep dish pizza. All of it was amazing and we had lots of leftovers, which tasted amazing the next day. Our server was awesome attentive with refills and helped with the deep dish (serving). We will happily go back. Ps. Did you know they ship their pizzas?! Yes they doooooo!

Yelp
We came to Giordano's for the deep dish (obviously ) and ended up being just as impressed with the service, thanks to our waitress, Baylee. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down, walked us through the menu, and helped us pick the perfect pizza and apps. Baylee had such a positive, easygoing vibe that made the whole meal feel fun and relaxed. The food was great, but Baylee's service definitely made the experience even better.

Yelp
Great experience delicious food . Accommodated our entire team in short noticed . Edgar took our entire party and was on top of everyone and their orders . Definitely will come back ! We all had something different from pastas to pizza .

Yelp
A must do when coming to Vegas! Delicious deep dish pizza....authentic to the Chicago deep dish! Had the Greek salad to pair the pizza with, and it was super yummy! Great customer service as well...Baylee was nice and super attentive. She's amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Super friendly team members. Baylee was very informative about wait time for deep dish items

Roberta S.

Yelp
Maybe we should have gotten the pizza because the meals we ordered were terrible. My friend had the antipasto and I had a meatball hero (I asked for the bread on the side) and a salad (just a lot of greens). We will not be going back there.

Clyde J.

Yelp
Great food and experience at Giordano's. The arancini balls stuffed with Italian beef were out of this world!!! The tavern style thin crust pizza makes you eat the whole pizza because the crust is so thin you don't get real full! Our server Annica was top notch. Great energy and very helpful. Can't wait to come back !

Yelp
Have not been here in a few years but I wanted to take my fiancé for dinner. We were greeted by Darell who ended up being our server. He was the only server working and apologized for the wait due to the large party that he was busy working with. I thought that was great. The rest was somewhat busy. The lightning was a bit dim. We ordered the Caesar salad and the meat, meat and more meat pizza. We also ordered the mozzarella triangles. The entree size salad was perfect for us. The triangles had so much flavor and cooked to perfection. The pizza was amazing and loaded with all the meat you can imagine and the crust was so flaky with tons of cheese! Darrel did an amazing job and even explained the process of how the pizza is made to be as close to Chicago as possible. He even drew a funny face on our to-go box. We will definitely be going back. Be prepared to wait longer than normal for your good but it is worth the wait!

Yelp
We ordered takeout. Picked up our two pizzas, bruschetta and broken cannoli dip for Dessert. After getting home we ate dinner and then my husband went for the dessert. He opened the plastic to go container that the cannoli shells were in as well as the separate container that the dip was in. He grabbed a shell and scooped some dip. He put it in his mouth and knew instantly something was wrong. He ran to the sink and spit it out. And continued to rinse his mouth out. We inspected the shells and they were covered in mold. White mold and green in some places. Yuck! Called the restaurant to speak to the manager he placed me on hold to inspect the other shells and came back on the line and told me the Manager would be in touch. I was very confused as I thought I was speaking to the manager. No refund was offered just a manger will call in an hour... no call ever came. It's been 24 hours. We eat here often as my husband is from Chicago....never again. Customer service sucks. I have reported to the health department. Stay away if you value your health.

Yelp
So coming to Vegas, this place was on our must try list. The one I've seen was the one on the strip, just outside of the Horseshoe hotel and casino. But of that location, foot traffic, vehicle traffic are horrendous, have to pay for parking, long walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. Luckily for us, we found from yelp that they have a second location, well away from the strip. Located in a regular shopping center, free parking, close to the restaurant's front doors. Nicely decorated, tv monitors located everywhere, appears to be clean. At first entering the male staffer didn't appear to be happy and friendly and wasn't in a big hurry to see us to our table. But as time went on, he started to warm up a bit, and ended up being helpful and attentive. The food was amazing, from the appetizers to the salad, to our deep dish pizza, everything was great and enjoyable. Will definitely have to make this place our must go to place, everytime we're in Vegas. 4 stars from me.

Yelp
Been craving some deep dish. Nothing like a great Chicago deep dish and Giordano usually is one of the best. Sadly Las Vegas is not, save your money. Better off with thin crust. Here is the honest but sad review 2 pictures attached Garlic bread as dried out and stale as possibly. They keep it in a heat unit that clearly keeps cooking it. Arancini balls- this is as simple as can be. Also this was in the heating element. The two sauce lids (I'm assuming) melted and spilled out all over container soaking these to the point that they aren't edible. Pizza Cheese- excellent Sauce- excellent Crust - batons disappointing not flaky, very doughy, some spots thin some thick Sadly a child could do better and keep it uniform. Very sad..... very much so money flushed in the toilet. We are now making dinner at home. Good luck if you do take out, I would hope there is more tender love and care used if you sit down By the way, does anyone know where we can get great deep dish Chicago pizza in las Vegas

Yelp
Deep dish is not pizza. It's a tomato pie. But if that's your goal, this is the place

Yelp
Just like Chicago! If you are a deep dish pizza fan, than this is the place to stop in for authentic Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. This pizza is consistent with Giordano's restaurants in Chicago. And in Vegas you can find two restaurants: one on the strip and the other restaurant on Charleston. The restaurant is super causal. The seating provides booths and low tables. The decor consist of Chicago posters and posters featuring their pizzas. The menu is standard with a selection of pizzas: deep and regular, salads, appetizers and desserts. Plus they offer a selection of drinks, including beer, wine and cocktails. We like to get their Cesar salad and plain cheese deep dish pizza. If you like a lot of cheese then this is the pizza for you! The crust is oh so buttery too! Not a low cal pizza! Despite low on staff, we had excellent service. To ladies we're working really hard running around to make sure everybody had what they needed! We appreciated their great service! Note: pizza takes at least 45 minutes so don't come starving and in a hurry.

Yelp
My sister and I LOVE pizza so I was all in for getting deep dish pizza from Giordano's on a recent trip to Las Vegas. Giordano's is an American pizzeria chain that specializes in Chicago-style stuffed pizza and has two locations in Vegas. We stopped by the Summerlin location since it was nearby a donut shop I wanted to check out. We ordered the cheese deep dish right away as it takes about 45 minutes to prepare. In the meantime we also ordered cheesy garlic bread and spaghetti. If deep dish is not your thing, they also offer pan pizza and thin crust pizza styles. I absolutely loved the cheesy deep dish, but my niece who is pizza sauce adverse said the sauce was just too overpowering. Check Giordano's out and you be the judge. The restaurant itself is spacious and great for families and the service was attentive and friendly. I would definitely return.

Yelp
First time at Giordano's and we loved it ! Service was fast and everything was delicious ! Staff was very attentive thank you to Darrell for his amazing service ,definitely recommend the sampler to try a little of everything. Definitely a place for family , kid friendly 10/10 !

Yelp
Giordano's is my GoTo pizza restaurant if I want Chicago style. I typically get the meaty pizza. They don't skimp on the fillings. There's lots of cheese sausage and pepperoni. Some stop at 1 piece, I can't stop at 1 I go for 2 or 3! Yes I'm a fatty. Service was good. Kinda weird the waiter was wearing a mask still, unless he was sick or in contact with elderly. Ambiance is really good. Lots of room, clean, tables, tvs and clean rest rooms. I highly recommend my top 5 favorite pizza restaurants!!!!

Yelp
Walked in and waited for maybe about 5 mins or longer. No host anywhere. Finally a busser came over and asked us if we've been helped yet. He sat us down and then we waited 8-10 mins. Nobody acknowledged us and I finally asked another busser when he walked by if he could please send whoever will be taking care of us over. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed once she got to us. The goal was to order a small cheese deep dish and split it. After being told the wait would be 45 mins or longer we decided to leave. You could tell it wasn't a great night there and everyone looked stressed. Maybe they need more staff? Their deep dish pizzas do take approx 40 mins to bake on a normal night but we noticed a table of about 20 near us and had a feeling our wait would be even longer since they hadn't received their food yet.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
The crust is golden, the cheese is generous, and the sauce? Perfectly seasoned. It's a must-try if you've never had authentic Italian pizza. Service is quick and friendly, and the portions are big enough to share--though you might not want to!
google avatar

Kelsey J.

Yelp
Not sure how this place isn't rated four stars or higher compared to the location on the strip because this location is now my new go to for a deep dish pizza Yesterday was my first experience here to celebrate my bf birthday around 2pm and everything was great! Having a great experience due to great service with Darryl is enough to bring me back. Really appreciated that he took the extra time to make the birthday celebration special too. It made our day! He explained everything down to the history of the company and how they make them. The deep dish pizza is freaking amazing, fulfilling and the calamari was perfect. Very spacious and the atmosphere was cute. Nice place to enjoy with family or a date night! Will come back again thanks a bunch!

Yelp
We got an amazing chopped chicken salad so yummy and the Italian beef sandwich...fire!! Annica was our server and was on top of everything! Thank you so much

Yelp
5 stars! I've been wanting to try Giordano's for so long. I work on the strip and never want to go to the strip for dinner after I get off work. I did figure out that there's a Giordano's in Boca Park that I can go to and have the full experience without all of the craziness of the Las Vegas strip. This place was so nice and we had the best most attentive waitress named Bailey take care of us. I highly recommend this location if you want to experience great food and a perfect atmosphere with the most fabulous customer service ! Buono Apettito

Patty R.

Yelp
A friend of mine was in town from Chicago raved about this place & wanted me to try this Giordano's pizza here. We went after lunch time and the place was empty. This should have been a warning...needless to say we were disappointed. For the price and so called extra toppings it was not worth it since I even counted the 5 little sausage droppings & about the same amount of pepperoni! The so called deep dish crust was VERY dry and they claim to have loads of cheese topping, also not true. They didn't even go halfway up the crust which is their claim to fame. I've have had worse, but this place definitely did not live up to the hype, so I will not be going back. Since this is in Boca Park shopping center, you should drive across the parking lot to Grimaldis. SO much better!

Yelp
Yikes. This place has potential but it was really underwhelming. A lot of reviews mention it feels understaffed. I definitely got that feeling as well. We called and they said it was an hour wait. We asked to be put on the list. When we showed up they didn't have our name down. Not a big deal. We just ordered the pizza to go and hung out at the bar for 45 minutes. The bar didn't really have a bartender. Someone would just drop in every couple of minutes. Pizza wasn't very good. My friend said he had it in Chicago and this one was not the same. We got the bbq bacon chicken and the margarita. Both were extremely soggy. The bbq one had a disgusting amount of sauce on it. Like comical amounts. I think the pies are frozen I don't think they make them fresh to order. Anyways if you really need to see it yourself give it a shot. Otherwise avoid it at all costs. There are much better pizza spots in town.
google avatar

Veronica R.

Yelp
Service was great, Memo was attentive and honest about the time, 45 minutes, it would take to be served a deep dish. Ambiance good, however, music was all techno, mix it up why don't you. Maybe some old-school! We wanted to try a deep dish, never tasted one. We ordered a Margarita pizza. Not sure if the crust was supposed to be crunchy, but it was and tasted like a bread stick, sauce no flavor and could used more basil, since it was a Margarita pizza! Overall I wouldn't order a deep dish again. The key is good dough, sauce and cheese. I guess I'm a fan of regular crust pizza. Again, our waiter, Memo was on point, great customer service, respectful and kind. Thank you Memo for your kindness

Yelp
Average eatery with nothing special or unique that sets it apart from others. Not in the same league as Yukon or Good Pie.

Yelp
They have an entrance on the side for phone orders. Nicely organized and a freezer with frozen pies to take home! If I had room in my luggage I would have gotten a few. For service-I wish I had gotten her name but the waitress that helped was so nice! She's pregnant so probably won't be there in a while but she is such an asset to the restaurant. I got a large Chicago style and the assorted apps. I carried the leftover apps (she was kind enough to give me a smaller container) on the plane to eat later and froze my leftover pizza to carry home. It's what I do. I'll most definitely be back when in Vegas again.

Yelp
We were visiting family last weekend in Pahrump, we drove to Vegas to catch the Michael Jackson One show. My son saw that there is a Giordanos in Vegas and he was so happy. We tried it in Chicago and it was so good! We came back the next day for lunch. We got there very early and they were deep cleaning the place. It didn't smell too much like chemicals so we decided to stay and my son was looking forward to it. From the moment we walked in TJ was amazing. Very friendly and apologetic for the cleaning, he made us feel welcomed. Let me just say most of the stars are for TJ, he was just a great host and server, very attentive and just nice to chat with. On to the food... I ordered the toasted Italiano sandwich, it was ok, I tried it in Chicago and it was so delicious and toasty but this one was not toasted at all which was a bummer for me. However my son loved my sandwich. My husband ordered the Italian beef. He thought it was ok. The kiddos ordered the Chicago original deep dish. I liked that more than my sandwich bc it was a cold sandwich. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream. Overall an ok lunch experience for the family. Definitely not like the Giordanos in Chicago but it's ok, we'll try them again when we return to Vegas, we got there as soon as they opened so maybe it was an off day? So service gets three stars, Thanks TJ!

Yelp
Here from out of town and heard about this place. Got a 6" pizza and wow it was very small but understandable but holy cow talk about super salty... then we ordered the sample Platter thing. The nuggets where suppose to be Buffalo but instead we got Plain nuggets.......and whatever the bread with cheese is... retire it Like now

Yelp
Listen.... It takes a LONG time to get to Chicago!!! What's next best??? Giordano's!!!! Just as tasty as the Chicago locations that I've visited (DAAAAAAAA BEARS!!!!!!), I'll be back every time I'm visiting my brother!!! Bailey is the absolute BEST, you cannot get ANY better than this efficient and personable server!!!

Yelp
We had a great experience at this location. Food and service were both amazing! I appreciated that we had more than one server checking on us to ensure we had everything we needed and our drinks were full. The food didn't take as long as we expected but I appreciated the fact they were up front on how long the deep dish pizzas were taking to prepare. The restaurant was clean, staff were very friendly and we were seated right away. We especially enjoyed the mozzarella triangle appetizer and the chicken sausage deluxe tavern style pizza. We would definitely visit again!

Yelp
Good bartender/server. Pizza is great, love the crust, nice and buttery. The pan pizza does take a bit but just grab a beer and watch a game.

Yelp
Love this place! Food is always great and our server, Baylee was amazing. We come here for special events or just to have a great night out. Highly recommend Giordanos

Yelp
I love this place for lunch. They have a main dining room for groups/families with plenty of seating. They also have a nice little bar that's tucked away on the west side of the building. The bar is spacious, plenty of bar seating along with bar tables and chairs. They have three large TVs and plenty of drink options. I've got the meatball sub every time for lunch, and I can't get it enough! The price is unbeatable and the quality is top tier. Annica was my bartender/server and did a great job! Friendly and fast service, she was attentive and you really can't ask for anything better. I heard the prices may even get better if that's even possible. But the lunch special deal is something that will keep me coming back for a long time. Thanks!!

Yelp
My wife and 2 young daughters arrived at the location and there were 3 tables with customers and one waiter. We waited patiently until for about 2 minutes until the waiter acknowledged us and sat us at a table. He did not take our drink orders and left us with menus. About 5 - 8 minutes passed and he came by and told us for thank you for waiting patiently and still walked off. We waited for about 4 more minutes and he was in the bar area and never attended us. We decided to leave and he never took our drink or food order. This was unacceptable. There was about 3 tables that had customers and was not busy

Yelp
I brought my mom and son here today for a quick lunch. Everything from the service, to the food was really good. When we walked in we were promptly greeted by the person who would be our server. He brought us to a booth and said he would be back in a moment to get our drink orders. We had time to look over things and figure out what we wanted. We all decided on getting the pronto lunch with the deep dish pepperoni pizza and my mom and I got their house salad while my son got the Parmesan garlic fries. So when our server came back we were able to quickly order. What made him awesome was that he engaged with my six year old and was friendly and didn't make him feel like his questions were silly. The food came out in two waves the first being the salads and the fries (which he asked me if we wanted them with the salad or the pizza. I thought it was really thoughtful and worked well because we all got something to eat at the same time.) the salad was super fresh and crisp and not overly dressed. The tomatoes in it were plump and juicy and the fennel added a nice flavor. The fries were hot and crispy. They had a lot of garlic flavor. The best part of course was their deep dish pizza. Great cheese pull and great flavors. It was a great lunch with good food, good company and great service.

Yelp
We were in the area so we decided to stop by and have lunch. Ordered salads and small/ personal pan pizzas, everything was great. Food was fresh, came out pretty quick (for Giordano's) and our server, Savannah was awesome. It got pretty crowded after a while but I can see why-- they have some of the best pizza in Vegas. Nice place, you should stop and eat if you're in town.

Yelp
Our server, Baylee, was an absolute delight! The pizza was delicious and satisfying--I only needed one slice to feel full. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Deep dish is sooooo good. I have been to this place 4 times and always amazing! Did have an average server one time but not bad!

Yelp
My son invited me here for father's day, and before here I was never really a fan of deep dish pizzas. Though after hearing so many positive reviews we had to try it since he LOVES deep dish. There was a bit of a wait, but given it was Father's day just before noon that's expected. We started with an amazing ceaser salad and an order of the calamari, which were crunchy and oddly had fried lemon slices, which were delicious! We kept it simple with a 10" cheese deep dish and I'm now definitely a fan! There was a THICK layer if phenomenal melted Wisconsin mozzarella under a bed of scrumptious sauce. I will be returning for the lunch specials. -HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
This is some of the worst pizza I have ever had in my entire life. That's not an exaggeration. I came here on a weeknight for pizza and sat in the bar area. It was a mistake on so many levels. First, the restaurant was obviously grossly understaffed. There was ONE server working the entire bar, and I saw only one other waiter working the main, larger dining room. The management is either cheap and won't hire enough employees, or people just don't want to work here. Who knows? But it's a massive problem (it shouldn't take over 20 minutes to be greeted when the place is mostly empty anyway, and I shouldn't have to get up and refill my own water). Second, it takes a LONG time for them to make and cook pizzas. The server warned us that it takes a while to cook, but our one hour date night turned into a two hour "sit and wait" fest. When your pizzas require 40 minutes in the oven, you need to have plenty of servers to promptly take orders and kitchen staff to crank those bad boys out. Stop making your customers wait and wait and wait. Third, the pizza is not only overpriced, it tastes terrible. We got a medium pepperoni and it was overcooked, dry, and wasn't good at all. I rarely meet a pizza I don't like, but I will never come back to Giordano's to eat again. The pizza style is Chicago deep dish, so it has the toppings and cheese underneath the sauce. This means the pepperoni is mostly raw and not crispy-edged like pizzas with the meat on top, and the veggies are soggy. The pizza was loaded with cheese, but it had a too-chewy and congealed type of texture. The tomato sauce was chunky and tasty, but the entire pizza was overpowered by the partially raw dough on the bottom of the crust. GROSS. It's expensive, too! The pizza was heavy and filling, but not craveable. We had a slice left over and just left it because nobody wanted to think about eating it the next day. I hated this place. I'm actually surprised at how much I hated it. Never, never, never again.

Yelp
Food was good. Pizza is Chicago style. It's very saucy and cheesy. We got the all meats which was heavy on the protein. The crust was crispy and buttery with a nice flake to it. The calamari was fried good. The service was amazing. They were attentive always filled my water when needed, and the ambience A nice place to go out with friends on a date or with family. Recommend a try as this is a Chicago branch pizza chain.

Yelp
Omg! Giordanos! Is incredible The pizza is so!!! Delicious great service and the inside is really nice and clean. I love the deep dish stuffed pizza. The sausage is really good. But all of the toppings are great. It's just like the Chicago location absolutely amazing
