18 Best Myrtle Beach Restaurants to Try | Eater Carolinas

"The powerhouse Hoxha family, originally from Albania, runs these two luxe Italian restaurants on the Strand, as well as a new Pizzeria Napoletana they just opened in the Market Common that focuses on fresh-made personal pizzas, so they know what they’re doing. Sit down at Gios and enjoy the refined pastas, chicken, veal, and seafood specialties, and a martini." - Ashley Daniels

Google
Sad we did not find this place sooner! First, our server, Enzo, was incredible! He asked to walk us through the new items on the menu and other options. He was very friendly and made the dining experience very comfortable. As out-of-towners it is often hard to find places that take good care of thier guests. Enzo surpassed my expectations. Second, the food was amazing! Flavorful and fresh. I had the scallops and shrimp in lemon sauce and was not disapponted! Actually could have had a few more pieces of the bread to soak up the sauce! l'ho adorato!

Great place. It was our first visit. Nice place, easy to find with plenty of parking. Atmosphere was nice. They sat us down right away and had our drinks on the table pretty quickly (this is a big plus for me), then gave us all the time we needed. Nice menu with several specials. I was happy to see the menu had some nice dishes that stood out from the bar like food you find all over Myrtle Beach. I had a very tasty seafood meal. The dessert was pretty standard, nothing all that special but good. The waiter was very good. He knew everything on the menu and was even able to state many of the ingredients and how it was cooked. He was always there when we needed him and he never rushed us. The price is a bit higher than the average for Myrtle Beach but the food is also equally better than the average. You’ve heard it before, you get what you pay for. I did enjoy myself at Gios and will be returning.

As a local, not our first time at Gios. At one point I thought this could be some of the best Italian in the area. Sadly, I’m not sure what happened however something has changed or is headed in the wrong direction. To set the stage, my wife and I sat at the bar around 7pm with only one other patron at the bar and I would say the restaurant was at 50% occupancy at best. It took at least 10 minutes for the bar tender to recognize us. Once recognized some waters were brought over. It took another 10-15 minutes for us to order a drink only after gently reminding the bar tender. Once our food order was placed, the service time was within expectation. Now for the food, and again I thought Gios had some of the best Italian in MB. We ordered the Mediterranean Veal and I the Meatballs and Sausage. I will speak to the basics of my meal, the sausage and meatballs. The pasta was overcooked and the meatballs were soggy while the sausage overly blackened and squishy. Not what I expected and hopefully this was just a one off experience for the subpar service at the bar and quality of their food. I’d love to go back and support the restaurant but not at the expense of this recent experience. Hope they can figure out the weak link. I hesitated to write this review but perhaps it won’t fall on deaf ears.

Google
I usually don’t like writing negative reviews, but my experience at Gio Italian Restaurant was disappointing to the point where I felt compelled to share. My party and I arrived at the restaurant, and while it wasn’t particularly busy, we were seated promptly. Unfortunately, that's where the positive aspects of our visit ended. After being seated, we were completely ignored by the waitstaff for over 30 minutes. We could see other tables that had arrived after us receiving attention and service, but we were left sitting there, wondering if anyone would even acknowledge us. After waiting and trying to get someone's attention, we realized that it wasn’t just a small mistake. The service was just absent. There was no explanation, no apology, nothing. Eventually, we decided to leave because, at that point, we had lost our patience. We didn't even get the chance to order anything, which was a huge disappointment because we were genuinely looking forward to trying their Italian dishes. The restaurant wasn't busy, and we could clearly see that tables around us were getting served, so it wasn’t a staffing issue. It felt like we were being completely disregarded, and that's just unacceptable in any dining experience. I won’t be returning anytime soon, and I would definitely suggest looking elsewhere for a better dining experience. Poor service can really ruin an otherwise great opportunity, and unfortunately, Gio Italian Restaurant missed the mark entirely Edit as it will not let me respond. We did let someone know….. she went to the hostess stand where they talked for about 3 minutes to the other hostess. None of that staff moved to get a manager. It was at that point we decided to leave. I would be more than happy to reach out to the owner manager about this. But was afraid I would be ignored like I was in your restaurant. As far as my other reviews. I am fully aware of my “other” reviews as I really only feel compelled to write them after horrible experiences. Which lucky for you I got one there.

Google
Let me tell you! From start to finish my experience was wonderful. When you come, request Rose as your server. She is knowledgeable, sweet, and attentive. I would DIE for Rose. All of our food was amazing. Just come. Seriously. Do it. XOXO- perfectly unique

Google
The pizza here was so good! My husband got the prosciutto & arugula pizza and I got the french connection. We started with 2 perfect margaritas that were very big and very good! I finished off with an espresso martini that was not very good at all - but besides that everything was great. We will be back!

Yelp
Went here for my daughter's 18th Birthday. The food was amazing, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! The service was fantastic! Will definitely go back again!

Yelp
It's very rare that I give places a rating above 4 stars but Gios has definitely earned the high rating of 4.7. I had to take a couple of points off for them not having other salad dressing options which I noticed other customers were also disappointed about the lack of options as well, hopefully they will eventually start at least offering ranch. Now on to the good stuff!!! They did an amazing job with the gluten-free pasta, it was delicious. The fried mozzarella appetizer was also very good. They also do really good with portion sizes, meaning that the plates are actually portioned for 1 serving so you'll actually have room for dessert. I would definitely eat here again if I'm visiting the area again.

Yelp
Wow! A gem in Myrtle beach! The ambiance was nice and the service was great ! I would suggest making reservations ahead of time because they were pretty busy. We were in town celebrating my brother's birthday and this was a perfect choice . The food was pipping hot. We started with the mussels in the spicy sauce the sauce was amazing! I could only imagine it over pasta. The lobster ravioli was great I added shrimp. All the dishes were reasonably priced and they had a fish of the day choice which was red snapper. All the items on the menu sounded great and looked great as they passed by! They had a nice wine list as well and great cocktail choices. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Our party of 8 was easily accommodated. Large private parking lot. We ordered drinks, apps and entrees. We tried a little of it all, even having vegetarians dining with us. We loved our waitress. I had a special accommodation and the chef easily handled it. He even added an extra nice touch, which was very appreciated. We loved the Italian language music playing. Pretty decor. No notes!

Yelp
We can hear based on a recommendation of a friend. The food was so delicious and flavorful. My favorite was the spaghetti because you could taste the flavors in every single bite. Some of the best Italian food I have ever had. My only complaint would be that the service was a bit slow but that wouldn't stop me from coming back in the future, bc everyone is short staffed these days. It is an upscale restaurant and they have a reputation to maintain so it's very reasonable they ask for business casual dress. Everyone usually brings one nice outfit to the beach anyway!

Yelp
Gorgeous bar. Few beers on tap. The seafood risotto was delicious. (Lobster, shrimp I believe). The escargot app was fantastic. Eggplant parmigiana was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Went here on Tuesday September 24th 2024, with my family and some friends as part of our South Carolina vacation. We were a party of 6, and they accomoddated us right away. We sat in a table in a corner, which was comfortable and fine. The chairs were also comfortable as well. First thing i saw when i sat down, they have mixed drinks and cocktails! I immediately ordered their blue hawaiian, when the server got there. Our server was Enzo, and he was very nice and professional, checked if we were okay, checked on our meals. As far as other drinks, my mom got the peer punch, 2 people got beers, and one got a wine. I very much enjoyed my blue hawaiian, and it tasted really good! We also had waters too, which were filled up constantly, and the waiter even brought pitchers of water over to our table, and left it on there so we can refill the water if we need. As a starter, one serves bread here, and it comes with a balasmic oil dip for dunking. Bread was also fresh and delicous! For Food, i was first unsure on what to get, but i settled on the Penne Ala Vodka, and i got that with Chicken since Enzo asked, and it is important to have a protein if one wants, My dad got the scallops and shrimp, my mom got a chicken dish with pasta, someone had a lobster ravoli, and others got great food. some of the food did come with a salad. Food was very good, and the pasta was very tasty, as well as the chicken was tender. Overall enjoyed this place. We got the check in an efficient manner, paid via credit card and left a cash tip. We stayed and talked, and closed the restaurant, literally. Restrooms were also very clean! But overall, hope to be back next trip, as this is a definite must stop!

Yelp
Great Food! Great Service, very attentive. Very nice ambiance. Probably one of the most cleanest, organized and managed restaurants in our area. Wonderful cuisine makes it perfect.

Yelp
The food and service is always outstanding at Gio's. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mediterranean Grouper special Thursday night. Unfortunately, like too many places nowadays the "background" music was incredibly loud. We couldn't hear the server or each other. Thankfully, they did turn the volume down because we would have left otherwise. People shouldn't have to shout to be heard in a restaurant.

Yelp
Food service - in that order. Chianti with Cesar's salad and oil vinegar for the house made bread

Yelp
Excellent food, terrible service. Very slow and inattentive. Did not ask if we wanted more wine or dessert. Did not check to see that everything was ok. Had to request our check even 15 minutes after receiving a to go box.

Yelp
The restaurant is modern and clean. Service was a good pace and our waitress had wonderful manners. The pasta was made in house and was super soft. My new favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach. :)

Yelp
Great Food!!! We ordered classic Italian dishes and they didn't disappoint! I recommend the Chicken parm which was delicious. The service was silver service! Exactly what we needed! The restaurant is decorated like your class Italian restaurant ! Highly recommended for tourist or locals looking for fine dining and good food.

Yelp
Lasagna was excellent And the fish special Ambience good. Waiter was great too. Would go back! Dessert was small and ok

Yelp
We were so disappointed while dining at Gio's tonight to celebrate a special birthday. The service was absolutely horrible and the food was burnt. A server never came back to check on us, so we literally sat with burnt food. When he finally came back we mentioned it to him and his response was "I'll tell the chef." The experience ruined the birthday celebration, unfortunately. For more details, a server didn't acknowledge us for over 20 mins, we never got refills on our water, the kids never got their drinks, etc. It was just a horrible experience all around. We won't be back.

Yelp
Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Gios Dear Management of Gios, I am writing to express my utmost disappointment with the experience my family and I had at your restaurant recently. As residents of Myrtle Beach, we were eager to try out Gios for the first time, but unfortunately, our visit turned out to be a complete letdown. We arrived at Gios around 5:00 PM, finding the restaurant at just 35% capacity with a nearly empty parking lot. Despite this, the hostess informed us that there was no availability to accommodate our family of five. Her behavior was particularly disheartening as she not only neglected to make eye contact with us but also exhibited an incredibly rude demeanor. Furthermore, she provided us with absolutely no alternative options. In light of this, we made the decision to drive two miles down the road to Luigi's. Surprisingly, Luigi's was operating at 90% capacity when we arrived. However, the staff at Luigi's went above and beyond by asking if we had reservations. When we explained that we did not, they quickly rallied their team and made the necessary arrangements to ensure our family of five was seated and served promptly. This stark contrast in customer service only emphasizes the shortcomings we experienced at Gios. It is imperative that Gios management take a serious look into the conduct of the young lady in charge of the hostess station that evening, as her actions were detrimental to your establishment. Your business needs to prioritize customer satisfaction and ensure that each guest is treated with respect and courtesy. As locals, we are well aware of the impact of word-of-mouth and online reviews within our community. By addressing this matter, I genuinely hope that Gios can learn from this incident and take the appropriate measures to improve your customer service standards. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We sincerely hope that Gios will make the necessary changes to provide a better dining experience for all of your future patrons.

Yelp
One of our two "go to" Italian restaurants in the grand strand. Everything is just done right. Try the fried mozzarella appetizer The veal marsala was perfectly done You will not make a bad choice on any entrees. Service is excellent. Wine choices spot on. The comfort of the interior is easy on the body as well eyes.

Mark S.

Yelp
The build and decor is well done and is a pleasant place to have a drink. Sorry but that is all this place has to offer. The server was polite at first and attentive. As we ordered and 45 minutes passed she started avoiding us. Something was wrong in. We found out when our food came. COLD seafood . Sent it back. Two minutes later hot now Microwave seafood turned to rubber or rubbish which ever you prefer. One of the owners stopped by and her explanation was that was impossible because her husband was the chief We are eating at the Myrtle Beach location and The one S. Myrtle Beach in Litchfield in the past and both have been high quality. However, after this experience, we will not be frequent their doors again.

Yelp
We had an excellent meal and service...with one exception. We had received our bread and shortly thereafter our dinner salads arrived but within minutes so did our dinner order. Normally we like to enjoy our bread and dinner salad and after finishing these items then our dinner order is delivered to the table. Not this time. We were seated at a small intimate table so with all of the items arriving at almost the same time...well we felt rushed and tried to find enough room on the small table to accommodate everything. The hostess experienced some confusion when we arrived to be seated and while eating our meal we noticed an associate, who was setting one of the tables, insert her fingers into the two clean water glasses she placed on the table. Pretty shocking; however we had the Penne Alla Vodka and it was delicious. Ms. Lisa was our server and she was very friendly and attentive and made our experience wonderful. It was busy and loud so it was difficult to have a normal conversation but we would gladly recommend Gios. I would recommend they train their associates who bus and prepare the tables on how to set a table without inserting their fingers in the water glasses...or maybe wear gloves.

Yelp
Portion size was spot on and service was well done. Good pairing of wine to go with our meal. I was entertaining clients at the time. It would be a nice change of pace for the family to go instead of the buffets and national chains.

Yelp
I recommend do not book a party larger than 8 people at this restaurant. My family and I were from out of town celebrating an engagement dinner, which the reservations for the occasion was booked a few months in advance with the restaurant. We did monthly check-ins to ensure our reservations were solid and there was no change to the party to include confirming with the store manager the same week. Service was unsatisfactory. No one from the staff placed an order with our party or requested beverages until after 30 minutes after being seated. It took approximately another 20-25 minutes for drinks to be received. No one from the staff or manager came by to communicate any troubles with orders or delays. The staff continued to hangout by the registers and bar area. Communication was never established until they were ready to provide service. Upon receipt of our beverages we were asked for our main course. The main course was not received until approximately 50 minutes later. The staff did not provide any updates until my party asked the status on the main course. One of the staff was very unpolite, while our party main concern was being served in a decent and timely manner. We party remain very professional with the staff but it became very challenging to have younger children in the party without even starters sent to our table. After a couple times reaching out to other staff members to get support and not to take away from our celebration. The main course arrived. They were not synchronized well on who ordered what in our party. Our family was very patience but the staff did not make it any easier with the energy they delivered during delivery. ***The manager the night of 3 August*** Had a discussion with her very professionally and explained to her in detail. The food was not the issue of concern. The service was Very UNSATISFACTORY. Her response was I am doing my best to train them and we are short staff. Response was received but not once were we greeted by her and/or she coming by with her staff under instructions to ensure they were providing the right customer service. We observed her hanging out by the bar having social hour with staff who were not engaged with other parties. We also noticed it was not very busy that evening as well. The kitchen was doing their best as we could tell but the staff on the floor did not support them at all. The Female Manager and I continued our discussion about the service and I will truly felt there should be a accommodation on our side after nearly being at the restaurant for over 4 hours unintentionally on my family end due to the lack of service provided. She told us she could no removed the automatic 20 percent gratuity and it would take additionally time to close out all checks. After addressing my party about her inability to provide accommodation, we requested from her a solution. So partial of our party was forced to pay on because they had been there for so long and it became exhausting to continue to sit around with the atmosphere becoming no longer enjoyable. She promised to work some type of gift cards for us, her stating she has the power to do so under her control with out higher management approval. Understanding the circumstances that most of my party were from out of the area. We never left with those cards. It was a complete disaster and she never came back to follow up but just sat around complaining to her staff about them taking larger parties in front of my family. UNSAT representation for the brand.

Yelp
First off we had one of the best servers ever, Anna. What incredible service with a full house! We had 6 people and started out with 3 apps.: Mussels, Calamari, and Meatballs. All very tasty but the portions have gotten smaller since May. The meatballs were the cocktail size usually big enough to spilt but not last night! The entrees were over generous portions and delicious. The Fork and Knife Caesar was disappointing and not worth the cost. Their Tiramisu and mini cannolis were very good! Gios is by far my favorite restaurant in MB and Pawleys Island. I'll wait until after season to go back!!

Andy R.

Yelp
I love going to restaurants when they open for dinner service. Get to see how the team operates and the guests are taken care of. I received my drinks and 5 people stood around while I was trying to order dinner. Once someone got to me, the rest of my meal went great. The food is flat out awesome. Had the osso buco, and the calimari. They prepare it Mediterranean style and I'm not a fan. So I ordered it plain and it was really good. The twin cannolis were also great. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. I went back to Gios on 6/3. Went at the open. Someone greeted me, took my drink order and my dinner order. Had the Veal Mediterranean. It was spot on and with the attention I received, this is five stars!
google avatar

Ian V.

Yelp
The atmosphere and food here is one hundred percent five star quality. The restaurant is noisy, but it's to be expected from an open area

Adelia D.

Yelp
Excellent service, meals are cooked to perfection, suggest you make reservations. The waitress is welcoming, knows the menu, and is great with suggestions.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
Getting seated was a bit slow despite not being overly busy when we arrived. Once seated however, the service was exceptional. Ambiance is upscale and makes for a lovely night out with someone special. The pasta and sauce had a marvelous flavor palate and left me wanting more, even as I got too full to finish! I have no qualms about recommending Gio's.
google avatar

Savannah S.

Yelp
This place was so good! One of the best Italian spots in Myrtle Beach. Everything came out so fast and was so good. I really loved their soup that had parmesan cheese and zucchini. My boyfriend got the penne vodka and i got the raviolis. Everything tasted amazing. I especially loved that they wrote their name onto the oil for our bread.
google avatar

Lawrence C.

Yelp
I went to Gio's for my birthday and it was such a great experience in Mrytle Beach. Will definitely go again! I had the Veal parmigiano and my girlfriend had the lasagna... no complains. Also, the table side Old fashion is a plus
google avatar

Camryn C.

Yelp
Food was excellent. The lasagna was a bit too cheesy for my liking. However the penne alla vodka was delicious. I added sausage to mine and was expecting it to be smaller pieces. Service was good and ambiance was sub par.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
Food is amazing, our new favorite Italian spot. Everything is fresh and consistent! The decor is tasteful, bar is always full! Make reservations before you go!
google avatar

Daniel Q.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. The drinks were good to start with. We Had an old fashioned and a martini. The old fashioned was a little watery. The martini the waitress brought was the wrong one but after she brought the correct one it was really good. This was the only issue all night. We both had really good meals. We had an appetizer of escargot and it was excellent. My wife had lasagna and I had a pasta with scallops, shrimp and crab claw meat. Very good on both meals. We will def be back.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
The food was delicious! From start to finish: wow. Even the bread was good. We got the Meatball Gios appetizer and it was so good, we kept scooping up the sauce. My boyfriend then picked up the plate and licked it lol. Yes, it was that good and you may find yourself doing the same thing. No shame. Just enjoy it. You're on vacation. I ordered the Broccolini & Pancetta which came with black noodles... wow. So different. I had to mentally prepare my brain to eat them because I'm not used to eating black noodles. BUT it was really tasty. The broccolini was perfecto. My boyfriend's dish was also delish (I tried it). We really wanted to eat dessert, but just couldn't as we were so full. This place is a treat. MUCH better than Olive Garden or any other chain.

Yelp
Although we're locals, we only discovered Gios recently. The meal was generous, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was exceptional, creating a fantastic dining experience. Gios has quickly become our new go-to Italian restaurant.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Gio's is an excellent Italian restaurant. They bring you a salad in a chilled plate. The entree portions are good. The quality of the food is exceptional. The waitstaff is well trained. Their prices are reasonable. An excellent choice for a very good Italian restaurant.
google avatar

Angie S.

Yelp
The service was excellent. Chris was fantastic. The food was delicious and tasty. Highly recommend Gios. Will be back.

Mike B.

Yelp
Service was good, food was excellent which was a sentiment shared by all 6 people in our party. Space was clean and inviting and had good atmosphere. Would recommend.
google avatar

Don Z.

Yelp
TO START WITH One of the best Italian meals we've had since we are on vacation. Everything we ate was phenomenal. Would definitely come back and recommend this to anyone who loves Italian food. But when you are going to up charge for a caesar salad it should be good and larger than the house salad, by good i mean a real caesar salad ( anchovys and real dressing)

T P.

Yelp
Service and food are always great. Consistency is the name of the game. MB has many Italian options, but Gio's is one of my top picks

Kim C.

Yelp
Shocked .. . that would be the word that comes to mind here. Went to dinner there tonight with 2 other family members ... I ordered the spaghetti Di Tornola... took a bite it was okay then had eaten a piece of lobster which had a very fishy taste.. the waitress came over and I told her about the taste and that I could not eat it... at this point I had shared one of my family members dishes... The server asked me if I wanted to speak to her manager and I said well what ever you thought was best... the server should have handled it... it should have been a no brainer ... take the dish away apologize and ask me if she can get me something else. Well none of that happened... in fact the manager came over to tell me that this is one of their best dishes that they make .. I said I am sure it is delicious but the piece of lobster that I ate was fishy and she continued to defend the dish. I told her do what you want you don't have to take it off the bill but the right thing to do would be ... so she said she would give me a discount and would call the other manager who is her superior that she is only the assistant manager so I said well wouldn't you be the one making decisions. She gave me an eight dollar discount and I told her to not even bother that they are a disgrace to treat people that way. The server gave me a piece of paper and asked me to write down my number I said for what.. damage is done. Won't ever go back there again. BEWARE... TOO MANY GREAT RESTAURANTS TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE WHO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT.... THIS WAS OVER A $37.00 DISH THAT COST THEM ABOUT $4.50 TO MAKE. SHAME ON YOU GIO ITALIAN KITCHEN.... BUT I MADE SURE THE SERVER GOT A GOOD TIP. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NEGATIVE STAR THEY DIDN'T DESERVE THE ONE STAR.

Yelp
Great food reasonably priced. Lovely ambience! Friendly and efficient service! Have done both happy hour and dinner here! Both were great experiences!

Yelp
Wow the food and ambiance was amazing. This is seriously yummy Italian food. I got the chicken Parmesan and pasta and it was so good. I felt guilty eating every bite on my plate!!!! It's also pretty fancy and was fun to dress up and go there for dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
Really delicious food! We didn't have a reservation but was seated promptly at a high top near the bar! We went with a veal parmigiana and a shrimp pasta dish! Both were very good! Nice house wine!
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
We were steered to Gios by a local person and weren't disappointed. Two locations here, we were in north Myrtle beach so that's where we went. Staff was friendly and we were seated promptly. I had the fish special which was a mahi fillet Mediterranean style over a bed of penne. Also at the table was an order of chicken parm, veal Sorento and chicken piccata. All four were great. Portions were big enough for to go boxes. No room for dessert, but the offerings were very tempting. The atmosphere was nice not real fancy. Give it a try. I'm here for a couple of more weeks and will try to do it ag

Yelp
We chose this restaurant due to some of the good reviews and it didn't disappoint. One of the best Italian meals we've had since we are on vacation. Everything we ate was phenomenal. Would definitely come back and recommend this to anyone who loves Italian food.

Yelp
Great food and ambience. Lasagna, sausage and meatball pasta were both great. House wine was reasonably priced.

Yelp
A very good meal. The service was great. For appetizer we ordered the fried calamari. There was a sauce drizzled over the calamari which, after a little bit turned the calamari a little soggy. I think making it a dipping sauce instead to keep the calamari crispy. Caesar salads were very good. I also got a cup of minestrone soup which was very tasty. For dinner my niece ordered fettuccini Alfredo. She enjoyed it. Big portion so she didn't finish. My sister ordered penne ala vodka which she enjoyed. I ordered a chicken dish with pasta and Alfredo sauce called Paglia el Fieno. Very filling. The chicken was tender and juicy. All in all a good visit and I would go here again.

Yelp
Our 1st time here--had heard good reviews. Food very good; service horrible. We had to wait almost 1 1/2 hours for our food. Had reservations and were seated in front dining. Small area and tables very crowded. It was 45 mins before anyone spoke to us. We finally stopped a waitress and asked if she could help us and she said she would have to get our waitress. Our waitress came and said she had "been busy in the back". Placed our wine order waitress came back and said they were out of. Had to find a second choice. Placed order for soup and salad that comes with entree. The soup was pumpkin and the salad had $3 upcharge not sure for what. Ordered the special entree of angel hair pasta with jumbo shrimp, lobster and clams. Waitress came back and said out of clams they'd substitute mussels. Other entree was Gios signature chicken with mushrooms, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. We got served one glass of wine but she forgot the other. Had to ask for bread. Bread was warm but the oil/vinegar small amount (did like "gios" written in it!) 20 mins later no other food had come out. Asked for soup/salad ahead of entrees. Soup was pumpkin (just okay) and the salad was very small (just 3 bites!). Had longer wait for entree. Not sure why it took so long because restaurant was not full. Our entrees finally came (and it had been over hour and a half when we got them!). They were delicious. Hot, fresh, and Very good portions, but not worth waiting so long. The service was horrible by our waitress. She was not attentive and no where to be found most of the time. We had to ask another waitress to please find her so we could get our check. No excuse for this poor service. Hope restaurant management will take note of this so others don't have to wait so long to be waited on and to get their food.

Yelp
The food and service was excellent! Very professional waiter. Filled water many times during meal. We were very needy and requested many extras from our waiter and he continually met our request with a smile. I had spaghetti amatriciana and it was very good, as good as Rome. I don't usually see in American Italian restaurants. Minestrone soup was good but a little different with many potatoes. We will be back.
