Glacier Ice Cream & Gelato

The ice cream is good and all. Would be nice if they switched the flavors up a bit for variety sake and changed out empty tubs rather than leaving the slush in the bottom of the popular ones. And FOR REAL put up a board with the flavors so people can see the options before getting up there. Makes the line way too artificially long.

In their defense, I was recently in Europe and most ice cream in the US can't compete with that (too sweet and not enough of the flavor). However, their chocolate was dark and the coffee ice cream actually tasted like coffee. We love the location since we can walk across to Festival Park. We've been coming here since they opened before Covid and will keep coming back.

Scoop size: BIG Awesome selection of ice cream/gelato, I was originally going to get 3 scoops of the birthday cake ice cream but once I saw how big the scoops were I changed to 2 scoops for around $9 total. It's worth the price. Seating situation is tight inside, metal chairs it looked like with seating outside and benches on the street. Parking situation can be exciting. Good place for dessert any day, they also have other things like ice cream sandwiches.

So many delicious flavors but I went with “Truffy Duffy” (creamy peanut butter ice cream with Oreo pieces) and double dark chocolate!

So so so good. Yummy treats, friendly staff, and top tier banana splits.

Holy smokes! Some of the best ice cream we have ever had. I had cappuccino brownie and I have never had anything like it. My kiddo had bubblegum ice cream and the bubble gum pieces were big and enough to keep chewing for awhile after. Yum! We will be back again!

Nice cute location. The staff was polite and allowed us to get samples before making our final decision. Then we sat outside and enjoyed our treat.

When we got in line it was short but we looked behind us and it had grown! Seems like a bustling, popular place. I got a banana split with some gelato favors but in retrospect I should have gotten ice cream ones. Plus I think they forgot to give me banana now that I come back to review 😆 I wish there were a bit more seating but enjoyed my gelato and the overall experience.

Aesthetic ice cream shop that offers ice cream, gelato, floats and more! During the warmer weather they open up the front wall to let fresh air in. I ordered a scoop of matcha, was so good. Service was super friendly as well. Would recommend a stop by!

Not sanitary. No gloves and the girl used her nail to take something out of the ice cream and then put her nails in her mouth after.

I got here later in the day and they were low on a few gelato options. I ended up with a salted Oreo milkshake that was great and had a ton of prep flavor, it was a good choice and I'd get it again. The large vs small shake is only like a dollar difference for an extra eight ounces, but I wasn't up for that much sugar at once. There is a water station with napkins there as well. The staff was friendly and the place was packed.

Great place to finish off a hot day! Gelato Is a must! Got the mixed berry and was so refreshing! Friendly staff and don't give up if the line is long, it goes fast!

Local ice cream is top notch. The salted Oreo Ice Cream is ridiculously good. Very friendly staff.

This ice cream is on the first floor of Riverwalk Apartments. Such a nice surprise! I got the rocky road which is my favorite ice cream and it was so good. Amazing end to my day! The service was prompt and friendly and the vibe was low key and welcoming. Definitely hope to be in the area again soon to try more of their flavors!

We first fell in love with Glacier at the Englewood location, and when we moved to Castle Rock a few years ago we were thrilled to see we had one here! All of our out of state visitors request we stop here at least once during their visits! Because they rotate flavors, you can't always count on your favorites being in stock on any given visit, but then you get a chance to try another one of their amazing flavors! Banana pudding and salted caramel Oreo are amazing. The texture is so smooth. We also appreciate the punch cards to earn free ice cream! Keeps us loyal.

This is such a fun find. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ice cream (did not fry the gelato yet but it looked Ike's amazing) was so delicious. It's located in downtown Castle Rock and definitely has the hometown vibe. They have a cool roll up door to bring I the fresh Colorado air. Highly recommend.

Glacier is the best ice cream in town. The people that work their are always so nice. The "bear tracks" is probably my favorite ice cream that I've ever had. Writing this review is giving me a craving...I might have to go to Glacier tomorrow.

We absolutely love glacier! They have something for the whole family and my girls always love their flavors! The staff is always friendly and courteous as well! My girls would go every week if we'd let them! It's also fun to get to sit outside in the summer!

Fantastic cute little spot in downtown Castle Rock. Tons of killer "homemade" flavors, sundaes, shakes, etc. Top shelf prices but worth it for the quality and kind employees. #supportlocal and hit up Glacier Ice Cream.

This place is too cute & dangerousy close to all the dinner restaurants we frequent. On a gloriously warm Saturday around 6PM the line was long but the staff were working nonstop. I like having the choice of gelato or regular ice cream. There's some traditional flavors & unique choices mixed in. The only bummer was that a lot of flavors were out & while they had more in the back, it needed time to defrost. I'm not sure if they need 1 more employee on busy weekends, but there shouldn't be that many flavors out at prime time.

Always in the mood for ice cream, we stopped at this place because it had great reviews. We DIDN'T realize the massive selection of both ice creams and gelatos that were available! I had the coffee chocolate chip gelato and my husband had a scoop of coconut (Oh my word!) and raspberry chocolate chip. They were both superb!

We came in after dinner, Friday night, and it was jam packed at this ice cream shop. The ladies working there handled customers with grace. The quality of ice cream and gelato is very tasty. They had plenty of indoor seating and the open garage door created great air flow. We will definitely be back!

Really good ice cream. I had the salted caramel Oreo, and my wife had the cookies and cream. Really good flavors with great smooth texture too. We'll definitely be back.

Very yummy ice cream snd gelato. Good selection of flavors. I had the chocolate mousse and coffee straciatella today. Coffee flavor was deep and intense, with thin chocolate shavings. BF had caramel Oreo ice cream. Friendly and smiling service. Not *quite* as delicious as Gelato & Co, but very close. Portions are generous. Definitely worth a visit.

Hot day with a fair going on in the park. Ice cream sounded divine. Others had the same idea, so we joined the line to the counter. We picked chocolate milkshakes with whipped cream. Used the restroom while we waited. Clean and brightly lit. Sat at the counter seats by the window. Overlooked the patio seating and street out front. Enjoyed our yummy milkshakes. A nice treat that we took to go as we explored the fair.

The ice cream is so yummy!! They offer unique and classic flavors. The shop is very clean and well lit. The employees were friendly as well.

I was pleasantly surprised with this little ice cream and gelato shop - I loved all the unique flavors (reminded me of some European spots). A few different coffee flavors, which is pretty rare so it definitely got my attention right away. Plus some seasonal flavors and, of course, a classic pistachio was absolutely delicious! Gotta love Colorado - you can enjoy gelato sitting outside in November sitting because it's so nice out! I will definitely be back!

Delicious ice cream! My wife and I enjoyed a refreshing snack here the other day (well, dinner, to be honest . . . we are not nutritionists). The service was great, and the product delicious. A great place to stop and enjoy yummy ice cream on a hot day.

I love this place! I have been here a few times and I love it! The ice cream and gelato flavors are perfect and there is a wide range! The staff is so friendly! Perfect stop on a warm day!

After trying glacier for the first time last year, it quickly became our favorite ice cream place ever! Sated Carmel Oreo is my favorite but often sold out due to high demand! This has required me to try quite a few new flavors, all of which have been amazing! Banana pudding tastes exactly like a fresh banana pudding, Funky donkey is a yummy peanut buttery ice cream, and one of my new favorites ,strawberry Oreo, is a fresh strawberry ice cream with delicious cookies broken up for the perfect amount of bite! We bring all our our guests from out of town here and frequent here almost weekly for a date night! The staff is sweet, and the store is always clean! Can't recommend glacier ice cream enough!

Last night was my first visit here. I love the location of this place. It sits right on a Main Street in Old Town Castle Rock. Part of the establishment features an open front bay door where patrons can wait in line without having to open and close a front door constantly. I've always loved the open bay doors for any place where fresh air can circulate freely in and out, weather permitting, of course. Plan to wait in line for a while. For Friday night, there was a large line of patrons waiting to order gelato and ice cream. I waited for probably about 15 minutes. It was worth the wait. Lovely to see families and couples enjoying gelato or ice cream on a Friday evening. The young lady who waited on my was sweet and friendly. From what I noticed during my visit last night, staff was very friendly to everyone. This is a great reflection of management! Keep up the good work. I ordered a medium sized cup (two scoops) of "Key Lime Pie" and "Chocolate Mousse." Andy's Frozen Custard has me spoiled with their "Key Lime Pie" concrete. Glacier's "Key Lime Pie" is good but not great. I enjoyed the "Chocolate Mousse" and felt the flavor was spot on. They offer a plethora of gelato and ice cream flavors. Plan on being challenged for deciding on which one(s) to choose. They also offer cones (sugar, cake and waffle). A cone I noticed them making for someone was a "dipped waffle cone." They also offer "Root Beer Floats", milkshakes and pints of ice cream to take home. There is a fair amount of indoor seating as well as some sidewalk seating. The interior seating area has a nice vibe to it. I enjoyed indulging in my gelato while people watching. I will definitely return here to try more flavors. I'm a fan of any homemade gelato or ice cream establishment. I recommend this place over "Cold Stone Creamery."

This was my first time coming in and I had such a hard time deciding my choice. Amanda was helping us, and she was so sweet and patient. She gave us all the samples we wanted and I chose the strawberry Oreo and raspberry mango sorbet. This is hands down one of my favorite ice cream places I've ever tried. I'm definitely going to have to come back and visit!

Freezer burned old gelato. Just get the ice cream. It's way better and smooth and looked fresh

Just want you want in a gelato shop, great selections, quick friendly service, and right next to a fun park and walkable neighborhood to enjoy it from. Every neighborhood should a place just like this, a perfect treat

Best ice cream and gelato in Colorado. I tried many flavors. The most I liked were Chocolate Mousse, Salted Caramel Oreo, Lemon and Water Chocolate. Everything was amazing and the service is outstanding.

They have great ice cream and gelato! Many choices to select from. A bit pricy for a small serving but flavor is always great.

Soooo many flavors to choose from, really delicious! Love the atmosphere, feels family, not an aspiring chain. Has side walk seating, inside seating, and best of all, just across the street from a really fun safe park, Love getting ice cream and sitting in the park!

I LOVE this place and think their ice cream is amazingly delicious. However, I went two days in a row and both days was told my favorite ice cream flavor was, "to frozen for us to scoop". What?!? How is it that two days in a row one of your most popular ice creams is to frozen to scoop?! So annoying when you've been craving a delicious flavor for days, only to be let down. Also, it be great if good flavors were kept in the pint freezer to the left of the counter. Every time I've been only the undesirables are stocked.

Hands down the best! I drove from Colorado Springs to try their gelato. I loved the toasted coconut! I went to Hawaii and they had the toasted coconut and I was on the mission to find one very similar and this place did it!. My daughter and her friend got the strawberry sorbet, and they loved it. My husband got a mix of Nutella and mint and loved! You gotta come here.

Fuck this place, standing in line and deciding what I wanted kept getting by passed. Take my business elsewhere.

To compare ice cream to gelato, i tried a scoop each of the same flavor - salted caramel Oreo, one of my favorite flavors. Both my husband and I preferred the gelato, though both were excellent. Nice variety of flavors on the gelato and ice cream side.

this place is great and we have gone for years, BUT we went there tonight on Mother's Day. The place was busy as it can be, we ordered our gelato for 3 kids and two adults and were eating it at a table at like 5 till 8 then like 5 minutes after 8 the girl that worked there told us that they closed at 8 and we needed to leave, and that if we did it would make thier clean up alot easier, I then replied that surely there was enough time to let our kids finish their gelato we just bought, Felt like we were getting kicked out of a bar . But this is a gelato place if you want everyone out at 8, stop serving at 7:45. The owner needs to tell thier staff to have some patience and also if they close at 8 it really means they don't leave until after the last guests leave

Hmmm , it's fair tasting. Not the best gelato I've tasted, couldn't even tell if mine was cherry flavored. Needs improvement.

my daughter and i are very picky when it comes to icecream. they have to be smooth, not to crazy sweet, with beautiful fresh aromas and perfect texture. and this is exactly what we have found here. you can definitely taste the homemade icecream there. it is absolutely delicious and the best one around (because yes we tried them all, who do you think we are).

Ice cream is incredible, but closing shift is pretty rude. The four ladies working were eager to kick everyone out (when there was a line out the door) at 8:50 (they close at nine). And made rude, rushing comments to customers as they were checking out.

Looking for a nice sweet treat in our new hometown brought us to Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato. We waited outside for a few parties in front of us and the line moved pretty quickly. Once inside we could smell the fresh waffle cones. It seemed very clean. They probably had about a dozen gelato flavors and two dozen ice cream flavors. My husband couldn't decide so he took the easy way out with a root beer float. I had a hot fudge sundae with cookie dough and salted caramel Oreo ice creams. No cherry of course. Even the staff thought it was a solid choice. The prices were right where we expected for a non-chain ice creamery. The portions were were generous. And the staff was top notch. Good conversation while he was doing his job and quick to move us along without making us feel rushed. We will definitely be back to work through some more of those fun flavors like the Birthday Cake!

was so happy when this place opened. My husband and I went here almost every weekend over the summer. However, the last few weekends they have been out of Cookies and Cream. Today we asked why they have been out and they said "we ran out of Oreos." First of all, his do you run out of Oreos? There are multiple grocery stores in the area. Secondly, they took the time to make Strawberry & Oreos...which was almost completely full. Their ice cream is good but if you have your heart set on a particular flavor I recommend you call ahead so you aren't disappointed.

Absolutely amazing ice cream and gelato! I love the variety of both, and all the options (cup, cone, banana split, milkshake, sandwich, etc). I'm unhappy that they still don't let you try samples since there are so many options but everything we've gone with has been very good. Creamy, tasty, worth it!
