Where to Eat and Drink in Portland’s Creston-Kenilworth Neighborhood | Eater Portland

"No Portland neighborhood is complete without an anchor laid-back pizza joint, and for nearly twenty years Gladstone Street Pizza and Saint Pizza Lounge have been holding it down for denizens of Creston-Kenilworth. Daily happy hour and themed nights like karaoke, trivia, and sketchbook nights make this a popular neighborhood hang. While plenty of casual pizza spots coast on great vibes but run-of-the-mill pizza, GSP takes its pies seriously, with chewy, nicely charred crust, flavorful sauce, and generous, fresh toppings. The Lounge offers a full bar, a small but tasty tap list, and a terrific assortment of Italian wines. Split a bottle with the group for best value." - Nathan Williams

The best burger in town. Meat is seasoned to perfection. Crisp veggies like an Italian sub. Bun is soft + thick, but not overpowering. Blue Bomber has the perfect amount of blue cheese + Frank’s hot sauce (pro tip: add bacon). $14-16 is very reasonable these days. And the kitchen pumps out food fast + very consistently. All the bartenders are very sweet + laid back too. Great covered patio that can get a little wild late night, but always feels safe. Top tier dive bar

Google
I love this little bar. It’s a great spot for a solo drink, or to visit with a small to medium size group. The service is more friendly and engaging than a lot of little Portland bars where you may receive less positive and helpful interaction. My rating on the food may not be a great representation because I’ve only ever ordered nachos, however I come back 1-2 times a week because I love the nachos so much. Stop in for the BBQ pulled pork nachos any day 3:00pm-9:30ish they start the late night menu at about 9:30 daily (other nachos still available, just not pork) the BBQ chicken nachos are an equally delicious favorite. The stone also has some really fun cocktail specials, my favorite being the Mango Jalapeño Margarita (another item I come back for at least once a week)

Google
Bartender was extremely rude about us asking if we could sit outside and order food with our two month old in her stroller. You would think we were trying to bring our baby into a strip club or something. We simply wanted to sit on the patio and eat dinner at 6pm on a Tuesday. I understand if that’s their policy but I didn’t appreciate the mom shaming and making a scene about it in front of other patrons. She could have politely explained their policy. It’s not uncommon for bars/breweries in Portland to allow minors before a certain time to eat a meal, as we have done multiple times at other establishments. Especially when they have a full food menu and a patio.

Google
Food and drinks are great. One of, if not THE best burgers in Portland. The gummy bears are a great way to end the night! Most nights have these great bartenders, but on weekends its the owner and he's kind of grumpy.

Google
The bartenders are so nice to me and my friends. The drinks are cheap. They have fun card games. This is one of our go-to spots in the neighborhood. Really good nachos

Google
Great pub off thirty ninth. I wish the entire outside wasn’t smoking. Quintessential Portland “drive bar”. GO THERE!!!

Google
Awesome little neighborhood pub. Food was good, and the drinks were fantastic. Mango Jalapeño margarita was really good would definitely get again.

Yelp
A great neighborhood bar with old-portland vibes. Love the staff, the patio, and the food.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this bar. The bartenders were friendly and made sure the drinks weren't empty. I order the crispy chicken supreme sandwich. It was so good I forgot to take a photo (hence the bite marks). Great patio space if you're looking to sit outside and enjoy some sun.

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar that has great food, ambiance and people working there! The burgers and fries are a solid go-to every time.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid neighborhood bar. Not fancy, but not a dive either. The staff does a great job, very friendly and they pay close attention to refills and keeping the place clean. Great place to sit on the patio with your dog in the summer.

Yelp
I am pretty sure the drinks are the stiffest, at the best price in town! They don't have a huge cocktail menu, but it is really good. And, their beer list is also really good, some local beers and variety of types of beers- IPA, Stouts etc. You can tell the beer list is curated by a beer drinker! And, the vibe is really comfortable and welcoming. ANd, the staff is really great and friendly too. Some people may call this a dive bar, but I think it has a lot going on with it. I love it!
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
This place is solid. They have a great selection of beer and food and even have a good amount of vegan options. I highly recommend grabbing two of the seven dollar burgers with a side of fries if you're hungry and in the area. I'll definitely be going back. The staff were also super nice and helpful.

Yelp
Came here today with my fiance. Arrived around 2-3 and stood at the bar. The bartender was busy but still greeted us and let us know that she would be with us in a moment. We waited patiently and she took our drink order and offered us food menus. We started a tab and took a look at the menus. I used the restroom. It was clean and stocked. We then ordered food. We took our drinks to the patio and waited for our food. After a bit it was kindly brought out to us. When we wanted more things I went inside. We got some beers a bloody (which was very tasty) and a shot of tequila. The food was amazing. My beyond burger was cooked nicely and my fiance enjoyed his wings and soup. The service is exceptional. This bartender deserves a raise. She was kind and patient. She was running around and communicated very clearly about when you would be helped. We will be back again! I hope the same person is working because they are on top of their game.

Yelp
This is my bfs local bar and we come here every week. What really stands out here is the service and the food. Very good food, particularly the soups (made in house, with a rotating special) and sandwiches. It can be a bit pricey, but we don't mind. The staff here is amazing; couldn't ask for nicer people. The patio is also nice and has plenty of seating, plus fire pits in the winter. Sometimes they show live music in the summer and they host a free trivia night every Monday! Would highly recommend supporting these lovely people!
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
Everybody at The Stone is great! We frequented before COVID, and we occasionally go and sit on the patio. The people working are great about sanitizing, wearing their masks and enforcing the mask rule, amount of people at a table, and location of where customers sit. You can't even seat yourself on your own here. We went to another bar once and they had people inside, next to each other, etc. Didn't go back there again. The patio in the winter so far has been a little chilly, but they've made it pretty nice with a few fire pits if you're lucky enough to snag one of them! The food is also really good here - I think they've got the best fries I've EVER had. Sooo good. Overall if you're looking for a regular place to relax without pretentiousness, definitely check out the pub! :)

Yelp
This is a great little local spot with a cute patio area that's awesome for summer. The staff is very welcoming and cool. Great atmosphere and lively, but still chill for a Saturday night. The food is awesome. I definitely recommend the wings. We were very pleasantly surprised since we aren't usually big on bar food. Ryan's sauce is great. The cook sure knows what they're doing! We will definitely be back again.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
There in my neck of the woods and I haven't been there a ton since the pandemic but I have ordered quite a bit of there wings lol. I miss hanging out. Maybe I'll do the outdoor patio soon. But love this little pub and happy you guys are nearby.
google avatar

Desi S.

Yelp
We went to hear the music. Hank Hirsch was playing jazz there and it was really great! He played outside the venue was perfect and the service was great. We have been there a couple times and I think it's one of the better neighborhood bars I've been to. Lots of locals but they were friendly to us outsiders! The food has never disappointed us. It's a small place though so go in the summer when you can sit outside. I hope they host more music. We would make the drive for it.

Heather M.

Yelp
Great service and welcoming neighborhood place. Trivia night was super fun. Great outdoor seating. Thanks for the AC on the hot night.

Yelp
Gladstone Street Pub is a true neighborhood dive bar, say no more. If you are expecting more, don't go. I stop in for a beer and expect a casual hang which is what you get. I have had their hamburger before and it was OK but nothing special and just what I expected.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
I was disappointed to race here after work only to find out their happy hour wasn't so happy and didn't include food items. It took asking 3 times to clearly understand the server (because the music is so loud) that their happy hour is $1 off the good beer and $.50 off the cheap beer. I think they may have had $1 off well drinks too, but I couldn't hear her and wasn't going to ask a 2nd time. The drink I ordered was ginger infused vodka & champagne. It was the $7 "special" on the board. For $7, it wasn't special. The least they could have done is stick it in a champagne glass. Instead, it was served in a low ball. I also ordered a burger and fries. It was good, but when you spend over $20 for 1 drink and some food, you don't feel like you got that great of deal. Sure, that won't break my bank, but I certainly wasn't paying for any ambiance, because it's a dive bar. Because this pub is in my neighborhood, I may give it a 2nd try, but only if I happen to be completely parched and in dire need of a beer when I am in the area.

Yelp
One of the best dive-bar finds we've made yet!! Totally worth finding Gladstone Street Pub. Didn't think we were going to stay long though...the street parking has signs for 5 minute and 30 minute parking only. We were told by those inside that the parking signs are merely suggestions. The entire inside is the size of a large living room. We grabbed stools sort of at the end of the bar, kinda on a table...but where we could see a couple of the TVs. The Blazers were on soon. Their cocktail special was a "Moscow Mule". Tony behind the bar starting mixing before he even finished describing it...must have been the drool. Anyway, a pint glass with muddled lime, ice, vodka, and ginger ale. Wow, so simple and really refreshing! Wife and I ordered to sammich dinners to share....the special was a Cajun Bleu Burger, which we got with potato salad. We also ordered the Bluestramibata with clam chowder as the side. Good-freaking-jeepers....it was a terrific!!! Burger was spicy and bluey....good sized, but not a plate full. Prolly the only restaurant potato salad I've ever had where I wanted more. Honestly, it was as close to my mom made during the summers. The Bluestramibata is a ridiculous sammich with pastrami, bleu cheese on a super soft chibata bread. Hot and melty....really, really good! And the clam chowder was "scrape out every spoonful" good also. Just really impressed to receive four food items that wowed us here....... Well done, Gladstone Street Pub!! Well done.........

Yelp
My friend and I are always looking for a place to hang out and have a drink outside. She likes to smoke and I don't so we look for some place with a patio. Yesterday was a particularly nice day and we stopped by the pub. We took a seat outside and had a couple of cocktails and appetizers and watched the traffic and the people walk by. The food was great I had the hummus plate which on the menu promised olives but I didn't receive any. I did get a nice helping of hummus, pitas, tomatoes and cucumbers. The service was good but I felt bad for the one bartender that had all the inside people as well as us outsiders.

Yelp
Walked into this place a little hesitantly and with very low expectations... It is, after all, off 39th and Gladstone. It's also got that trashy look from the outside, which continues on the inside - but just enough to make you feel at home, rather than repulsed. They have $3 beers all day Sunday, and then from 4-6 or something like that during the week. It's the opposite of the other happy hours around Portland where you get the food deal but not the beer deal. I prefer both, but I'm a woman - so I want it all. For a good beer deal though, and just a few minute walk from my apartment - I'm there. There are a couple tables outside, and they would be a great place to hang out when the weather gets a bit nicer. The menu seems fairly extensive, and I'd definitely be interested in checking it out if I hadn't been in a serious mood for a burger from Matchbox...

Yelp
THE STAFF ARE DOPE AF!!! Amelia loves Ezra.. we're on our way now.. Jamo and Rainer's for life

Yelp
It's all regulars who Don't talk to anyone buy themselves and bartenders. Meanwhile I thought I'd get hit in a dart. Stop being so clicky why do you think we date online now. Bad service. Unprofessional bartender
google avatar

Stacey S.

Yelp
Food is amazing! The burgers are amazing. But if your aren't a regular you don't receive the same level of service. They seem to ignore you most of the time if you aren't someone they see a lot. Which is fine, but that's my reason for only a 4 instead of a 5!
google avatar

Angela T.

Yelp
This place has surprisingly tasty food and local cozy atmosphere. The burgers are great and fries are good. If I had one request, please please make some homemade salad dressing. That bottled stuff is horrible.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
The staff here are amazing! The neighborhood bar feel is perfect with Amelia knowing everyone and their dogs name, as well as remembering little details about your life. The drinks and food are great and reasonably priced. They have a good sized outdoor space. It's busy after work but we've always gotten a table. It's a great place for puppy watching! They respect their employees and expect you to as well by raising your mask when they bring your drinks to the table. I appreciate places more that make sure their employees are safe!

Yelp
One of the best neighborhood pubs in town. Maybe one of the best pubs in town. it's just perfectly placed. The address is in - a total neighborhood, but right off Powell and 39th. Super homey, friendly staff, damn' good food and good drink. My first visit, I sort of confused it with Gladstone Card Room, but that's a Pub in Gladstone, not ON GLADSTONE STREET in PORTLAND. Anyway, it's cozy and I entered as a total stranger, but felt very welcome. The staff was busy (Tony), but served me just like I was a regular. I don't always eat food straight away if trying a new pub. I just drink. But I was hungry and went for the Chili. Something I never do. I never order Chili. But it was so good, so hearty, all-around a great choice, the portion was perfect. Nothing weird or extraordinary about it, a featured item. Cheese and Onions added if you like. They have a couple TVs, usually tuned into sports. Dart boards in a precarious place, near the entrance. Several seats at the bar and multiple tables. I truly feel everyone is a regular here. Always received great, attentive service - no matter who's working. Normal amount of tap beer and cocktails. Cool decor and Christmas lights decorating the bar back. They have 8 taps of beer, a few domestics and the local cider, beer choices-some common, some eclectic. They also feature liquor infusions - Besides the Chili I've had a turkey sandwich (very good) and have seen plenty food specials offered and the Reuben. I don't live in the neighborhood, but it's one of those pubs, where you say, "dang, I could live around the corner, (seems attainable) and I could just walk here and be a regular" normal bathrooms, one for each sex. although, I think the ladies was busy once, and I used the men's room real quick. The nickname is 'the STONE' A few outside tables on the sidewalk.

Yelp
This pub is at the end of my street and probably the only reason I don't want to move somewhere cheaper. It's there for me - rain, hail or shine. When I can't be fucked cooking, I know where I can get a bomb sandwich. When I'm hell thirsty, I know there's a big cold beer waiting for me no matter what. Even before I was a "local" I was treated well and after being a customer for a few years now its nice to show up and be able to have a chin wag with the friendly staff. Food 8/10 Drink selection 7.5/10 Staff vibe 9.5/10 Venue vibe 8/10 Overall: 8.33/10
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome bartenders and laid back atmosphere to relax and have a drink. Plenty of screens to looks at and really satisfying bar food to hit the spot. Clean bathrooms, plenty of street parking and super nice regulars always throw you a smile.

Yelp
The Gladstone Street Pub is the "ultimate" in so many ways: Ultimate Burger... Ultimate list of drink specials... Ultimate real baseball bar... Ultimate disappointment... strange considering how important those three things are in my experience as a sports bar nut. I find that the staff consistently serves the locals with an A+ touch but anyone not playing dice or cards gets a like a C-. Sat at the bar 20 minutes last night with my card out and it wasn't even busy. Some of my baseball buddies swear that every tab comes with an extra beer for good measure. I've experienced this too, too often for it to be a coincidence. A lot of flack from the staff too when you ask them to reconsider the extra items you didn't even ask for. Worst of all, I feel like it caters to those few regulars. There is one waitress who is consistently rude and seems to have a chip on her shoulder about what kind of people come into a sports bar. A few really anti-social types seem to get away with hostile behavior because they're local. Feel like it could tighten up a few of those loose ends.

Yelp
"Cornhooooooole!" That was me hollering (drunkenly) outside the Gladstone yesterday. Need I mention it was Happy Hour (4-7)? We're talking $2 domestic drafts and $3 fancier beers/wells. Couple that with a sunny day, a game of cornhole, and three friends throwing bean bags into a wooden board with a hole. A cornhole, if you will. I ended up spending a good five hours at the Gladstone, and enjoyed every minute. Monday is Trivia Night, and the place was pretty well packed. It starts at 8ish. Get there early. I believe Tuesday is Cornhole League Night. And you know what? Cornhole is harder than it looks. I had the King Kong nachos ($9) which were decent, but a little pricey methinks. Easily split with a friend though. The 1/2 pound cheeseburger ($8.25) looked like the way to go. The Gladstone is a quaint little spot perfect for an intimate gathering of friends. I might be back for all day Sunday happy hour and to perfect my cornhole. But I'll try to cut back on the PBRs. Oh, who am I kidding? Can I get a "Cornhooooole!"
google avatar

Kristina K.

Yelp
The Gladstone is the quintessential local hang out. Every neighborhood has a Gladstone. Lucky for these SE Portland, they have the actual Gladstone. You'll always find the atmosphere chill, whether inside or out. With ample patio space and warm weather, why not gravitate outside? Service is a hit. They're always checking up and keeping the drinks filled. The food is okay and very affordable... think $5 meals. "The Stone" can easily be deems on of those go to spots for you and your friends.
google avatar

Danni D.

Yelp
Inexpensive beer, unpretentious atmosphere, friendly staff, and gargantuan burgers all come together to create this gem of a neighborhood pub. The Stone is a laid-back place to hang out and spend some well-earned weekend hours. They have a few flat-screen televisions, all showing some male-bonding team activity or another, and when I was there, most patrons were keeping at least one eye on a screen. Mostly, though, people were grabbing some grub and catching up. Occasionally conversation would cross over from private to eliciting the opinions of, well, everyone in the joint. Did I mention how friendly this place is? If I had just one eensy-weensy wish, it's that they would serve French fries with their damned-good burgers. I'll happily eat a salad, but sometimes the call of the fry crescendos in my head until the cacophony is too strong to ignore. When that's not the case, though, the Stone is definitely a go-to burger and beer locale.

Yelp
I have a very special place in my heart for The Stone. It's taken me a long time to write a review cause I honestly don't want too many people to know about it and go clogging it up, requiring them to expand it or turn it into anything other than exactly what it is! But that is extremely selfish of me, so I'm letting the secret out. This was the first bar that Josh and I stumbled upon when we moved to Portland. Perfect, because it was just a little bit like home (which is Ohio): a little grungy, a little eclectic, very comfortable and unassuming. Turns out that the brothers that own the place, PJ and Andy, are from Ohio...AHA!!!!:) Love them! All day happy hour on Sundays! $1 off pints and wells makes for super cheap drinks! Amelia is the best bartender in the whole world! She got to know us right away, offering suggestions for things for us newbies to do here in PDX. She can also run circles around what turns into a VERY busy bar, especially on warm summer Sundays! Also, HAVE to check out her Sunday Bloody Mary! Now for the biggest secret...I know you won't believe me until you try it, but The Stone has the BEST burger in all of Portland. Big, juicy, 1/2 lb patty grilled outside on an open flame, so none of that weird, watery flat-top funk that soggs up the bun ( I HATE that!). Put this beautiful piece of meat with all the traditional fixins on a Grand Central Bakery bun, and you don't even need fries (good thing, cause they don't have them!) I just get chips usually, but they also have rad homemade soups and chili available as sides! It seriously took me 6 full hours to digest it properly, now THAT's satisfying! So, any of you burger-freaks out there who obsess over the best ground-beef patty in PDX, check out The Stone and be amazed!:) And don't forget to leave some Stone love for me!:)

Yelp
I discovered this place when, returning on a bike ride from Tabor, I came upon this small strip of commercial activity on Gladstone right off of 39th avenue. A sandwich board posted outside the bar depicting an animated hamburger caught my eye and I decided to go inside. I was greeted by a bartender well tattooed up and down the forearms, but plenty cordial. She asked if I wanted to see a menu and where I wanted to be seated. Yes. And outdoors prease. The sun was shining brightly so I choose a seat directly facing it, fully basking in its glory. When my burger arrived I took stock of the various mustard offerings and decided upon a virgin taste test before adulturating its flavor. Much to my surprise, it needed nothing additional. It was about as perfect a home-made burger could be. Since then I've come back to the Stone many times, usually during early Sunday afternoons where time seems to disappear and life comes to a halt. It doesn't hurt that happy hour is a full twelve-hours long on Sunday's, or that there's a stash of board games tucked away in the cabinets. My lady friend has accompanied me on many trips and has developed a particular affinity to the place as well, particularly after nights of copious boozing, where nothing but a greasy burger and a bloody mary can coax away that not-so-right feeling deep in your gut.
google avatar

Wendy F.

Yelp
Soooo bummed they swapped out their homemade veggie burger for the Impossible Burger. I get it that restaurants are trying to convert meat eaters with these faux meat-style patties, but they're leaving their vegetarians out in the cold. Rather than change the non-meat burger option, how about expanding your menu and offering two? They don't consistently have other non-meat items in stock, which is disappointing.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Reasons why I like the Gladstone pub: - Monday night trivia is fun and not SO hard you walk out feeling like a failure. - Wait staff....the guys are cool. And the women are hot...Amelia and Natasha I'm talking about you. - The drinks...tons of beer...good stiff hard alcohol drinks. - Food...I love the nachos...quesadilla, the burgers, the grubber sandwich, and the chili. - How can you NOT love a place that has corn hole in the summer.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood bar where not everyone knows your name, but they will still be welcoming and friendly even if they have never seen you before. I've had people refer to it as more of a "sports bar", which I get, but I also don't get. They do have the MLB package, which made my husband go "WooHoo!" but the place isn't decked out in sports regalia and I'm sorry, but any "sports bar" in this country where guys talk about soccer with as much fervor as football immediately steps above-and-beyond just a mere "sports bar'. The beer selection is limited but good, same with the booze. The bartenders are all great, engaging and professional but still relaxed and seem happy being where they are. The food menu is solid, consistent and perfect for hanging out and drinking. Overall, a great bar for an enjoyable, mellow afternoon or evening, I'd go anytime.

Yelp
Fantastic nieghborhood bar, low key, friendly staff. If this place was in a basement, it would be cheers.
google avatar

Arley Ann R.

Yelp
My fiancé and I just moved to the area and quickly found ourselves at home at the Gladstone Pub. The burgers are SUPER good, as is the chili. They make house infused vodka, my fiancé gets a cucumber vodka Bloody Mary, I like getting a jalapeño Vodka Soda with a splash of grapefruit. YUM. We love going there to watch sports, for trivia night, or just hang out whenever!

Yelp
I recently moved much closer to Gladstone St Pub. I had seen it from the sandwich place up the st. It had a nice look about it. I heard they had cornhole too. Tried it out last week. It's most definitely going to be on the rotation. There's not really one special thing that makes GSP great, it's just a lot of little things. Friendly service, plenty of outdoor seating, nice cozy indoor space, decent sports watching possibilities are some of it. Very relaxed crowd, no obvious idiots about. The hamburger I had didn't look like much, but it tasted delicious. The tap list was decent, gin and tonics were very solid. I wouldn't characterize GSP as a dive, because it's not dirty and grungy enough to be a dive. It's a great neighborhood pub that I'm glad I live near to.
google avatar

Brianna K.

Yelp
Local dive bar. Great for watching a trailblazer game at. Decent food. I always get the wings and they are normal bar wings. Service is always on point! Really nice bartenders! The owners are from Ohio so they show some of the Cleveland games! Which is a plus for me! I usually find myself at this place once a week! Would recommend anyone who is trying to find a new watering hole in Sellwood!

Yelp
Good Place to Hang Out; Not the Best Deal in Town. I've been to the pub a few times. The atmosphere is pretty classic. Nothing too special either way. I like to drink on the cheap, so I was disappointed they didn't have any dirt cheap specials on beer. I have tried the food and it's pretty dang good. The people who frequent the pub, really give it its character. That can be good and bad. I kinda get a "you are not welcome" vibe from many of the patrons (who of course are friends with the bartenders). If you get past that initial eyeballing, it can be warm place to relax.
google avatar

Ally P.

Yelp
Love this pLace. No matter how long I go between coming in, the bartender always remembers me. Super friendly staff. I love being able to have my dog on the patio with me. Monday nights are trivia nights. I am horrible at trivia but it is so much fun. Reasonably priced drinks and amazing veggie burger!

Luna H.

Yelp
This neighborhood bar is great. I LOVE the laidback atmosphere. I like to come here with my bf and play games of cards and do a little drinking when I want to get away from my usual hangout spot down the street. This staff knows how to please. They are so genuinely friendly and caring. My only issue with this place is that the well whiskey for $4 is literally the worst. Whiskey down the street is also $4, but it is so much better. Overall, keep up the good work. This will most likely be our new once a week place in conjunction with our other once a week places. :)

Yelp
How could you not like a bar with a dog named Charlie that sits at the bar? Ok, Charlie is probably not there all the time, but he was on my first visit. We didn't even see him until we sat at the bar. I thought it was just a hairy kid out of my peripheral vision. Clearly I was wrong. There is more to the Gladstone Street Pub than Charlie. Believe it or not. It just seemed like a good bar with a laid back vibe. The food smelled really good, but Sue and I were just there for beers. Pretty good tap selection, nice staff and comfortable bar stools make it a place that I would hang out in more often if I lived in this part of town. Color me jealous as I don't have a place like this in my neck of Portland.

Yelp
The best Rueben I have had in PDX so far. Love the funky hole in the wall atmosphere and the outdoor seating as well as outdoor activities in the summer. Super friendly staff as well.

Yelp
The Gladstone Street is a perfect example of the kind of neighborhood bar that makes Portland such a great town to drink in! Solid bartenders and friendly folk made my latest experience here great. Perfect place to watch a game, relax and have some tasty traditional food. I had a fantastic grilled sandwich - turkey melt with guacamole, roasted red peppers, cheese and tomatoes. There are several other grilled sandwiches on the menu, several burgers, also quesadillas and veggie burgers and veggie meatloaf along with a few salads. The full menu has plenty to choose from and it all looked great. Ultimately, if I lived closer, I would be here A LOT. But still, whenever I do find myself in the neighborhood I am happy to realize that the Gladstone is nearby and a comfortable place to enjoy a beer awaits me. Also, during our sunny days, this is a great place to play cornhole!

Yelp
BEST BLOODY MARY IN THE CITY. Several different infused vodkas handled expertly. Been going to this place for years. My go-to neighborhood pub. Staff is great. Food really surprised me, Love the sandwiches and the burgers, especially the Blue Bomber. The veggie meatloaf sandwich fooled my dad. Soups are top-notch too, especially the clam chowder. Now they have chicken wings--Also great. No Frills bar with great service and atmosphere. When the weather is nice you can play corn-hole and drink on the patio with your pup nearby. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Can I start by saying how hilarious the owners reply to Allison F's review was? Haha. So I just moved down the street from here so this pub is a 5 minute walk for me. I've gone a couple times because it's so close, and I was very impressed with how hospitable the servers are. They're very nice and didn't make me feel like an outsider, like some bars tend to do. On the contrary they have been quite personable. I feel like the food is what you'd expect at a neighborhood pub. Not amazing, yet still yummy and I'd order it again. My partner says the jalapeño burger she had was better than most of the raved about places around here. Overall a great place.

Yelp
My friend who lives in the neighborhood brought me here because I said I was craving a hamburger. Well, lets just say I wish I lived in the neighborhood too cause I'd be eating here all the motha-fuckin-time! The burger was actually GRILLED as in grilled on a BBQ out back. It was cooked to perfection! Juicy, saucy, fresh, and filling. I ordered the bleu cheese burger and they put a hot wing sauce on it as well as chipotle mayo. UMMMMMM! It's my new favorite so check it out!!! Oh, and they have beer and booze too. Enjoy!

Yelp
They might have the best Clam Chowder on the planet. This is no joke. Their chowder is awesome. In fact, there soups are just awesome. I decided to write this post after having a bowl of their beer cheese soup on Sunday. The food is really good and they have a great beer selection. My favorites are: Super Turkey Melt, Rueben and the BBQ chicken quesadilla. I'm a creature of habit so I try to go on Fridays or Saturdays when they have the Clam Chowder. The waitresses are all super friendly and it's a great pub vibe in there. I hear their Bloody Mary's are killer but have yet to partake. I highly recommend you stop on by!
