Google
Stumbled into Glasscotts after an amazing dinner at the co-owned Athenian room. We were greeted by Gina, as we have been many times before. Gina is the best bartender I have come across in the city, and has treated us to an excellent evening each and every time I come to this bar. Highly recommend checking out on a Friday night, nowhere else I’d rather be!!

Nick Iscra

Google
Gina was a beauty. Was super friendly and very encouraging when I ordered an Espresso Martini. Made me feel like I belonged. Will definitely be coming back!

David Gaber

Google
Great bar and food in the heart of Lincoln Park.

Collin Acklin

Google
I got served the perfect amount of jamo and Guinness by a funny, good looking, shaved headed bartender at this charming grogery

Google
Went here on a Saturday night and it was really vibrant with great music. The place was a bit crowded but didn't have any trouble getting drinks. We found parking for free right across the street as well.

Nick Rodriguez

Google
I've only been to this bar on my annual Christmas trolley crawl but it's always a hit. My friends and I love a good game of skee ball and they've got a lane in the back. Usual beer prices, huge space, photo booth, and skee ball. Lots of different settings to sit in with a bar along the windows, round high tops, booths, etc.

Nathan Ayres

Google
Quick service. Nice place at night. Not too busy on week night. Enjoyed eating from the Greek place that’s connected. Decent beer selection (not huge but large enough).

Nick Paul

Google
Great spot after work! Good atmosphere with good music. Ralph, our bartender for our company party in the private room was a super cool guy and whipped up the speciality drinks for our 3 hour event. It was a fun evening.

Yelp
Glascott's even better!!!! I was having dinner at the restaurant behind Glascott's and my friend and I went to grab a drink from the bar. As soon as I opened the door, who was standing dead front and center???? IRON CHEF JOSE GARCES!!!!! I yelped, gasped, and grinned (cheesed) so big! I scrambled to find words and nervously asked if I could take a picture with him! Ya just never know! Thanks!!!!!!

Yelp
Not a typical College Bar, but DAYTON FLYERS and Cincy Reds longtime bar. Cold Guiness and garlic fries!! Check out the menu and ask for extra garlic!

Nicole S.

Yelp
Gina is amazing. Fantastic service every time. Can't wait to come back here and laugh some more.
google avatar

Yelp
It's exactly what you think it is - a dive bar. Go to watch a game and have a $4 bud. Don't expect great service or a pretty atmosphere. Go to have a good time and stand in a corner. If you're hungry you can grab food from the Athenian room next door. Win win.

Yelp
Great spot, good energy. Had a couple beers here, they tasted good. I went here after having the best egg roll of my life. There were too many white people here but w/e it happens.
google avatar

Catie S.

Yelp
Order from Jake, the sexy bartender! Makes such good mules and dirty shirleys. If you're lucky, he will make you a Jake shot. Great atmosphere and has a skee ball machine so make sure to bring cash!

Yelp
Proper corner irish bar spot in town. Staff very nice. Reasonable drink prices. Great if your looking to grab a drink and catch up with friends!

Lina M.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! The bartenders and bar is super cozy!! Go there for winter months when the wreaths are you. You will not be disappointed. 10/10

Yelp
This bar was super solid. Great natural light in there and TV selection. Props to them I will be back.

Yelp
Bought a groupon for this place. My husband and I came here after work for drinks. The bartender was very nice. They had great drink specials. They do not serve food here, but they are connected to a Greek restaurant that does. We were able to order dinner from there. Great place to just stop by for drinks.

Yelp
Glascott's is a typically neighborhood bar/dive bar where peeps come to drink and kick it. We stopped by here for a round Saturday night after having some dinner nearby. Pretty mellow were my thoughts for a Saturday, but this bar does have perks that make it standout a bit above the rest. 1. Music selection. Not bad. 2. Large windows. Allows for natural light or if it's warm enough they leave 'em open for fresh air. 3. Skeeball! Only one machine, but hey you don't see many in bars in general. As I recall we had some Three Floyd's Alpha King off tap for $7. Not bad in terms of price point and coming fresh off draft. Plenty of TVs throughout to catch a game going on. As I recall this one's a Dayton bar. Anyways, that's all I got on this one. 'Til next time, cheers! 225/365

Yelp
Order the steak, one of the most tender steaks I've had and comes with fries and a salad for an unbeatable price. Also great location

Luke I.

Yelp
Bar tender was a complete jerk. Never have had a bar tender disrespect me like the one here. Don't go here if you'd like a good experience.

Yelp
Ahhh yes, Glascotts, my favorite neighborhood bar in Lincoln Park. I'm unfortunately moving out of the neighborhood soon which means I'll have to find a new local watering hole, but Glascotts has been all I could ask for. With its long history of being the local corner tap, Glascotts screams history. The bar is at least 100 years old and still features the original hand made wooden bar. It truly is a taste of Ireland and I'm convinced the bar was opened by 1st generation Irish immigrants. They have a decent tap list and cocktail selection. Watch out for rumplemintz, it's always flowing here. One of the best parts of glascotts is that it's connected to the Athenian room - amazing Greek food. The servers come into the bar to serve as well. Nothing like some hot, greasy Greek food with your cold IPA. Pro Tip - great place to go for a cubs or blackhawks game.

Yelp
Stopped here with friends after landing in Chicago. It's a decent pub. The Christmas decorations were probably the only memorable part of the pub. Drinks were decent. Atmosphere was lively. Decent amount of places to sit at. There were some games in the back. It's a good pub to check out if you're staying in Lincoln Park area.
google avatar

Nicholas M.

Yelp
Apparently, in Lincoln Park, bars are only 10 square inches. So, going on a Saturday looking for somewhere to sit down was a task that was harder than usual. Luckily, when I was walking up Halsted, I was able to find this decent sized looking bar on the corner called Glascott, so we stopped in and watched the game. First thing that caught my eyes here were the wonderful craft brews they had on draft. Beygle, Half Acre, Great Lakes...all great choices. Lots of TVs to watch the game(s) too. One thing this place has that other bars don't is their skeeball machine that gets all the attention. No kitchen in the back, but the bar is connected to a Greek restaurant that delivers some of their food over to you, and I believe you're able to order the food from your bartender, so that's really convenient. I'm not in this area much, but if I were to come back to have a drink or two, Glascott would be on my mind for sure.

Yelp
I came here for St Patrick's Saturday!! There wasn't a line at 11:15am, but at noon there was 30 minute wait to get in. Even though it was packed we still had space. I loved that it wasn't shoulder to shoulder. Plenty of bartenders, who slang drinks fast!! A group came around 1:00pm, and played the bagpipes. They don't serve food. But, this bar is connected to the restaurant next door, so you don't even have to go outside. The only downside is the women's bathroom stalls are a struggle to get into and out of. My go-to for St. Patty's!!!
google avatar

Charles K.

Yelp
Best bar in the world. Hands down. Only good things happen there....you having a bad day? Head to Glascott's, having relationship issues? Glascotts. IRS going after you? Glascotts. Fall, break your leg and need serious medical attention? Glascotts. Wish you could go on an exotic international vacation? Glascotts. Need spiritual advice? Glascotts. Your wife cheat on you with your best friend? Glascotts. This is the Chuck Norris of bars....behold the beauty and glory that lies within. Glascott's.

Yelp
Absolutely love this bar!!! It's like my family now. My husband and I met here thanks to the amazing staff. So many friendly people you get to meet here that we now consider it our second family. They are so accommodating to put on other sports teams on as well. It's a great place cause everyone who works there wants you to enjoy it as much as they do... and they also have beautiful holiday decor :)

Yelp
I have such mixed experiences at this place! One time I had a very average time, which was all that could have been expected from the group I was out with. Another time, I had a great happy hour with two coworkers. The server very gently convinced us we needed a couple rounds of shots along with our drinks and we ended up having an epic night. Most recently, I was again there with coworkers and it started fine but got weird. Stella was there doing a cool event where they'd personally engrave glasses. We all ended up getting one, having a sample in a small glass they said we could keep, and drinking Stella most of the night. But then, as the night went on, somehow both my personally engraved glass and sampling glass disappeared. Then, my friend was accused of ordering a round of drinks and then cancelling that round so he was cut off. He definitely didn't do that or anything that warranted being cut off. We were out celebrating him, so that really throw off our celebratory vibe for the night. And yes, we were celebrating, but nothing aggressive, not even a single shot and everyone was sticking to wine and beer. It was weird. So, super mixed experiences here. As there a ton of bars in Chicago, I'll likely avoid one with more consistently good experiences in the future.

Isabelle L.

Yelp
The best bar in all of Chicago. Let alone, Illinois. Ask for a Jake shot and play skeeball and you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Irish neighborhood bar around! The management was very accommodating and had all covid regulations in place!

Yelp
Had a chance to come here after a 3-on3 basketball charity event at Depaul. Glascotts gave us free beers after the tournament. Pretty nice bar and pretty nice staff. The bar had two rooms: The front bar and the other seemed to be a room reserved for private parties. We were able to watch the plasma televisions while enjoying our free, unlimited beers. If I am ever in the area doing some shopping, I would definately check this place out again

Cate H.

Yelp
Do not recommend having a private party at Glascott's. The manager, JR, was extremely rude to me and the rest of my group from the second we got there. He was not accommodating at all and he did not have great communication regarding the requirements of having a private party.
google avatar

Yelp
I literally opened my own beer yesterday, handed a closed beer and opened it myself. Maybe it was the rush of hmmmmm NO ONE at the bar. These guys must get a good hourly because they could careless about schmoozing. Two people walked in about 10:26. 12/10/13 and they weren't greeted or acknowledged, in fact they yelled, can we just get two bud lights! One bartender with his back to us playing a game on his phone, the other bartender on her I pad. It took them about 45 minutes to decide to turn off the obnoxious tvs after game for jukebox. Who's in charge here??
google avatar

Mary T.

Yelp
I met my friend there for a drink before we grabbed a bite. When I walked in there were only 6 other people in the place, including the 3 guys that could have been mistaken for permanent fixtures playing pool in the back. Our bartender couldn't have been nicer, quick with a drink and polite. The Cubs game was on, with sound so it was a bonus. It was a Tuesday so I didn't expect a crowd, but I did expect to see more than 6 other people. My friend wanted to do a shot (don't ask me why, but he did) and I was surprised when the bartender told us they only had Cuervo. He thought they may have Patron too, but couldn't seem to find any. I'd expect any average Chicago bar to have more than 1 tequila choice. Bottom line: $4 pint of Magners and the Cubs game - good times
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
good ole pub, nothing fancy, good service from the bartender and the access to the athenian room next door is key. Great location to just have a drink. Its an old school place that I used to visit in my younger days and its still a great place to post up.

Cristina G.

Yelp
I love this bar. Service is good and it's a good neighborhood spot. Private space is good for parties. Ask for Jake the sexy bartender
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
I come and play skeeball here every week (3 per team per 8-week "skeeson", you get discounts on beers). Even without that required weekly commitment, I'd come here regularly in a heartbeat. The bartenders are super friendly, the clientele is chill and laidback, and the beers on draft are spectacular. (Beygyle in pitcher form is always the best form.) ALSO, you can order anything from Athenian Room to be dropped off right in front of you and omg if you haven't been privy to the best damn Greek food in Chicago, get your butt to Glascott's right now, pony up to the bar, order a gyro sandwich platter, guzzle your bodyweight in Beygyle, and stay for a good time.

Gabrielle P.

Yelp
If I could give no stars I would. My friend and I attempted to have a drink here at 8pm on a Thursday, and before the front door even closed behind us, the general manager --sitting idly on his laptop -- quickly glanced up at us and shook his head. Confused, my friend asked if we could get a table for a drink, and the man barked back, "Sorry. Full." The doorman quickly volunteered the vacant table that was holding his jacket, but the laptop man shook his head, and said loudly, "NO. there's no room for them!" there was ample room for us, even with the six foot radius rule. Unnecessary rudeness and judgement. Not a smart move for any restaurant, especially during these times.

Yelp
What the hell happened to Glascott's? We used to have many hijinks here before I became too much of a snob to frequent Lincoln Park bars. Somehow, in the years since my last visit, it has aged beyond its years. The floor tiles are broken and missing. There were stale cupcakes sitting on the windowsill. The bartender offered us a bucket of leftover Halloween candy. The place was deserted around 10 pm on a Sunday. Huh? There was a Colts-Patriots football game on. Where is everybody? My group of five were the only patrons besides a quartet of guys playing beanbags in the side room. I liked the bartender but he made a bit of a faux pas when we ordered Magner's and he said, "Ah, Magner's? I can't drink that stuff. Too sweet." This is as divey as it gets in the LP, I guess. But it's not a cool kind of divey. I just don't understand an empty bar in a populous neighborhood on any night of the week. The weather was great! At least the Magner's was "only" five bucks. You could do worse elsewhere.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
I came here for a Cal vs Colorado football game. We got the entire back reserved, which was good because we had 30+ people. Bartender was friendly. However, they don't have food, so we had to order pizza and/or go next door to the Mediterranean place, and our table was a bit wobbly. Plenty of TVs though.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Nice, neighborhood (Cheers) type of atmosphere. They have a decent number of beers on tap and the decor is antique w/very nice brass taps. They don't serve their own food but connect to the Athenian Room next door. Ask your bartender for a menu and you can order and eat your food there in the bar - off of actual plates w/metal tableware - not out of a styrofoam container.

Larry J.

Yelp
Very discriminatory practices. I was with my cousin and his girlfriend, and we decided to have an after dinner drink as I was staying 1/2 block away. We are both in our 60's and apparently didn't fit the profile they wanted and were refused entry. No offer to wait outside until a table opened up, nothing except "we're full and you can't come in". Shortly thereafter a young party arrived at the door and were promptly admitted. This seems to be Glascott's MO as others have also experienced. No shortage of Irish bars in Chicago, so skip this one and go where they don't use covid as an excuse to profile their clientele. Shameful

Yelp
Stopped in for a screwdriver while the wife was shopping.......good drink cool place.

Yelp
Came here as we stumbled around Lincoln Park trying to find a pub/bar to grab a couple of drinks. This place was a typical cozy bar scene filled with college kids and local patrons. The music was great as there is a jukebox inside that plays the most up to date music selections as well as old school jams. Our bartender, Ralph and Mike was very welcoming and knew how to keep up with us Virginians! They were awesome and jammed out with us and kept the partying going all the way till they closed. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back when I'm in town!
google avatar

Travis J.

Yelp
Nice laid back place to grab drinks and food with co-workers. It's a bar service is typical. Games are retro and fun. Theme is Irish.
google avatar

Randie O.

Yelp
One of the most hospitable Irish Pubs in Chicago! I was out and about for a day drink, and these dear "brothers of the bottle" provided me with Jameson aplenty! Bless these fine men! My go to spot in this part of Chicago!
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
Stopped here the other night after getting caught in an insane downpour at 10 pm. It's your typical Irish bar. Laid back, cozy nooks here and there for cuddles and chats, TVs w sports on, and a friendky bar tender. Got a snake bite and it hit the spot. Nothing to change about this place. I'd definitely hit this up again for a quick drink in the area.
google avatar

Taeler H.

Yelp
I like this bar because the bartenders are friendly, and it has a homey feel. I love it when I can walk into a neighborhood bar and not feel like I'll be harassed by a creepy old man, be highly over charged for a drink, get in to a fight with a crazy local drunk, or step in who-knows-what on the floor in the bathrooms. This is that place, it might remind you of Cheers, it's really that cool. What's even more cool is that they have local craft beers on tap. What's better than that?! Oh yeah, a game of tipsy Skeeball... Yes, you can do that here too!
google avatar

Chuck T.

Yelp
Comfortable neighborhood Irish pub with a pretty decent beer selection. Plenty of locals playing Skeeball, watching "the game" on the pub's numerous TVs, or just chilling out. What sets the place apart is that it is connected to the Greek diner next door. So, you can grab a cold beer while having a great Gyro from the Athenian Room. Makes for a perfect evening! The only advice I would give is that since the pub is the local "go-to spot" for University of Dayton fans, it can get pretty crowded with during Flyers BB games. Came in recently not realizing the UD/Miami Ohio game was being broadcast. The place was packed! (Didn't realize there were so many Rudy Flyers in Chicago!!) So, you'll probably want to leave your SLU tee-shirts at home if you come in on UD BB nights!

Michaela E.

Yelp
if it was a bad bar, I would remember. ask for a jake shot, shots of screwball, and buckets of bud light :) bartenders are all super nice

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were kicked out of this bar for trying to use a daily deal special!? (8/15/12) Here is the story. While surfing facebook I noticed an ad advertising "$8 for 3 cocktails at Glascott's". I clicked on the daily deal site called "Audum Live" and bought the deal. I told my girlfriend about the daily deal and she purchased the "$8 for 3 cocktails at Glascott's" as well. After dinner we went to redeem our daily deals from "Audum Live" at Glascott's. I went to the bar tender and explained that I have the daily deal special that they are running on my iphone. I told her my order and handed her my iphone so she could ring up the order. After marking it redeemed on my iphone she brought me my order of two cocktails (one for me one for my girlfriend) and said "that will be $8". I told her no that is not how this works; I paid $8 to this company to get 3 cocktails I don't pay you anything. (I then handed her a one dollar tip) I'll be back for the third cocktail in a few minutes. After about 15 minutes I went back to the bar to get my third cocktail. I then handed her another dollar. After returning to my seat my girlfriend went up to the bar to redeem the daily deal she purchased. Surprisingly she returned to our seats a minute later without a drink and said "The bartender won't let me use this...she is calling her manager to see if she can honor the daily deal" "What?" I replied, "yeah" she said. "She is calling her manager now because she doesn't know what these are" My initial thought was why would the bar tender honor my daily deal and not my girlfriends? This doesn't seem logical or fair? I approached the bartender with my iphone with the daily deal on Audum Live advertising "$8 for 3 cocktails" to prove the legitimacy of the deal. In the other hand I had my girlfriend's phone with the code so the bartender could redeem it. This is where things took a turn for the worse. I said to the bar tender " the daily deal my girlfriend is trying to use is the same one you honored for me. Look I have it up on my phone it is a legit site with daily deals like Living Social or Groupon. In my other hand I have the code to redeem it" The bar tender started yelling at me as my girlfriend approached saying "I DON'T KNOW WHAT THOSE ARE! I CALLED MY MANAGER AND HE SAID SHUT IT OFF I CAN'T TAKE THOSE!" A few customers around us stopped conversation and started staring at the scene the bartender was creating. I replied "well you can't honor the daily deal for one person and not someone else" She then continued to yell "I ALREADY APOLOGIZED YOU, I ALREADY APOLOGIZED TO YOU. LOOK YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF MY BAR! YOU'RE KICKED OUT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THOSE THINGS ARE, YOU CAN COME BACK IN A WEEK I DON'T KNOW HOW TO RING THOSE UP GET OUT OF HERE!" I responded "I don't think we will be coming back, we are leaving" We asked the bartender, "What is your name so we can post this on Yelp?" "GINA ...AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU POST THAT I APOLOGIZED TO YOU" she yelled. Upset we left and called Audum live and left a voicemail explaining what happened. A man called my girlfriend back that night apologizing and said he would talk to the owner of Glasscotts the next day. She received a call from Audum Live claiming he told the owner about the situation and would refund our money We live close to Glascott's but never set foot inside prior to this event and thought this would be a great way to check it out. Unfortunately, we will never go back to Glascott's due the way we were treated. Upset we have been telling our friends, co-workers, and neighbors what happened and to avoid Glascott's! I understand that these daily deal sites are supposed to drive foot traffic.......which doesn't really work when the staff is kicking you out for trying to use it. The bottom line, we would consider going back if the situation was handled differently by Gina.

Yelp
I love this place! I've been here several times and I always try and end my night here when I'm Chicago. The staff is extremely friendly, they have a ton of different beers, the bathrooms are clean, and the prices are really good. The bar is narrow and long but doesn't really feel split up in any way. I highly recommend this place, it's cozy and always a good time!

Erin F.

Yelp
fuck this place. I live down the street from glasscotts and my friends and I love coming here to see our Dayton peeps. However, my experience the past 2 weekends has been anything but pleasant. Extremely rude and rapey staff had the nerve to comment on the fact that I wasn't wearing makeup. Whatever, rude. I've literally never had someone make a comment like that to me. On Saturday, I was denied entry because I had lost my phone earlier that day. I recognized one of the guys because as I said I am a regular, and I said he knows me. The bouncer picks me up and throws me outside, a 23 yr old female alone. As my 2 best friends were inside. I was intoxicated and thrown into the snow, where my credit cards fell out of my pocket, and lost those items. I want to say that I am genuinely appalled with this establishment and my alumni Dayton friends and I will be boycotting glasscotts. It's a shame because we used to come to ur shit bar every weekend to end the night before walking back to my place. Our business is done for u. my wide wide range of dayton connections know me and know what happened. kiss ur dayton customers goodbye. Fuck you.

Yelp
First off, huge thanks to Glascott's for rescuing the Chicago Skeeball League after our previous host bar closed unexpectedly . Thanks to the aforementioned league, I found myself here weekly this past fall/winter. The physical Glascott's bar is lovely and they did a great job with their Christmas decorations. Beyond that, Glascott's really is just "A-ok" and I'd make no special effort to go here. Drink specials were unexceptional and the servers often didn't know about them (even when there were posters for the specials hanging behind the bar). It usually took me way, way longer to get attention and a drink than it should have given how few patrons Glascott's had on weeknights. The tap and bottle offerings are pretty standard. And the back room is just weird...it's cold and run down and seems like a definite afterthought. The ability to order food from Athenian room next door was really nice and servers were always sweet (though slow). If Skeeson 2 is hosted here I'll have no complaints, but beyond that Glascott's is just a typical Chicago neighborhood bar.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
Glascott's. I've driven by it one thousand times. I've been in for drinks a dozen times. Since it's the lesser of several evils in the area, It's by default become the premier destination post-game following the Sheffield Garden Walk. If you were to walk into an empty Glascott's and check out the bar itself, the long sets of windows paralleling Webster to the north and Halsted to the east and the juke box, you'd likely think Glascott's is a pretty nice bar. The thing is, the place is crowded enough when you go in on the weekend that your view of all of these things will be obscured, so you'll have to settle for the people watching instead. As people watching goes, Glascott's is only alright. It's generally young. It's generally drunk-ish. And the women, strike that, girls, generally try too hard with their outfits, which is always entertaining all the same. It's worth hanging around for a beer or two once a year to check this scene and a few highlights on TV to get up to speed on the day in sports. As for the bathroom, it's three urinals and one stall for serious business. It's not the worst loo I've ever seen, but it's not exactly posh either. It's functional. That just about describes Glascott's. It's not a destination. It's more of a once annual peripheral thing. It serves its purpose - sort of like a holiday sweater. And into the drawer Glascott's will go until next July. Three stars.

Yelp
Glascotts is an awesome bar on it's own but it's made even more awesome by the fact that it's connected to the Athenian room, an awesome Greek spot. Glascotts is really serving all types of clientele. It has great beer on tap but also a good deal on buckets of Bud light so it's serving both the many and the few. It has a good mix of tables and standing area so it's easy to find a spot even if you have a large crew. My favorite part though is the amenities, it has a photo booth, a skee ball machine, and room to dance. Be warned though it does get loud so if you're looking for an intimate spot this is not the place for you. It also has tvs if you're trying to catch a sports game.

We've been going here on and off for quite some time. Really good food with some great local brews from Half Acre and Revolution. The skirt steak is to die for!!! Our only complaint would the the skiball groups with all the noise from plopping those balls down all night. It's like nails on a chalkboard or Chinese water torture.
