We did the date night! It was great! So fun. Very hands on. It kind of scared me since the heat was so intense. Joe kasey & Paul we’re with us every step of the way, helping us create a glass piece to take home. $150 per couple. They book out a couple months in advance and you have to pay in full upfront. There’s plenty of parking (paid) behind the place. They provide some box wine, beer, and pizza. The date night could take you one hour or several depending on if you go with a group. We had 4 people and some of us didn’t go until the end. In total, we were there almost 4 hours. The total group size was 10 people and a mix of ages etc. We’re in our young 30s. If we had ended early, they’re in a great location that we could’ve gone to a number of things in Ohio City. You’re encouraged to tip. Recommended cotton clothes & closed toed shoes. All 4 of us loved it & would go back

First visit to GBP w/some girlfriends. We each did a blown glass piece. Great experience and amazing staff. If you live in CLE or visiting from out of town, this is a must do.

Google
This place is awesome and I highly recommend checking it out. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff let you be apart of creating your glassware. They have a huge showcase of pre-made items as well for sale as well.

Google
Went here for company team building and left wishing we lived in Cleveland so I could take my family here. Mike Kaplan and Christian were amazing... we learned much and went home with the real thing, made with our own hands. Elcectic, friendly and with a patient & competent staff, it's an awesome experience.

Google
In there as a group this past week and had a great time. You don't just watch someone else with the process, they walk you thru it yourself. Instructors were great, explained everything and answered any questions you could have. Some pretty cool industrial art for sale. Morty the rooster was running around to top it all.

Yelp
This was a stop on our food tour, wasn't really a foodie place, but it was very interesting, and this was a hands-on experience for those who participated, we watched, and while we were watching a rooster ran across the room, and we all had a great time. So I'm standing there and this nice guy named Mike started talking to me. His hair was messy. His clothes is messy, but he was the nicest guy you could talk to. Explained a bunch of things to me that I didn't know about glassmaking we spoke for a while then I realize somebody told me he was the owner. This is definitely a spot worth taking. and as far as tour prices to take part and making a glass item was extremely reasonable.

Yelp
This was my first time inside. There was a sign advising of free viewing of a live glass blowing presentation. The staff was very kind and took the time to explain each part of the process. It was so neat to witness. The employees did a great job explaining how to stay safe and kept us at a safe distance. I see they have classes and even offer a date night event. I took some information to share with loved ones. The unique art on the shelves was cool to look at. I believe most of it is for sale.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in CLE right off W25th st. They have great things to buy for classes to take or you can just come in to check out the really cool chicken Morty. Mike the owner of 25 years has kept this place going and does a wonderful job with teaching people to make one-of-a-kind glass projects. You can make anything from a wine Tumblr to a vase to paper weights or even a small light cover. There is paid and street parking outside. This is a great place for friends date night or if you just feel like being a little artsy farts. It was $125 per person for 2 glass pieces. If you pay in cash they give a discount. Tip not included.

Yelp
We were walking through the downtown area and randomly stumbled upon this hidden gem! As we walked inside there were people actually blowing their glass and two employees came up to us, offering a tour of their facilities. One of my friends walked around with the employee as I stayed back and watched the people blow their glass and checked out their items for sale along the wall! They had great prices on blown glass done by a local artist! I wish I was staying in Ohio longer because I would've love to make a piece for myself to take home! I will definitely be back!! Oh- my friend got some gorgeous vases for a great deal too! We both collect blown glass. Sadly, I didn't have any room in my carry-on bag to buy any pieces this time around.

Yelp
We peeked in and observed a class of a couple people learning glass blowing. Demonstrations and private studio time are available. The shop is in back of the front buildings against the parking lot. The building is old, and the business joined the Ohio City neighborhood in 1998. This "studio" blows clunky glass items. It also does welding. Lots of cool stuff hangs on the wall, and a rooster walks around.

Mitchell G.

Yelp
We visit the Glass Bubble Project every few years when we come through Cleveland for work. The glass blowing class/experience is a lot of fun and gets better each time you return. All of the instructors are creative, supportive, and free flowing. They make sure you are involved with all steps of the process. Mike, Casey, and Joe helped our group of four and we had a blast.
google avatar

Carla H.

Yelp
Such a lovely place and the glass blowing class was a lot of fun! We had an awesome time learning the basics. It was also cool to watch other people work on theirs. I made a beautiful vase and I like the stern color i choose so much! In general I had a very very good experience :-)
google avatar

Yelp
My partner and I did a Friday date night class and it was SO FUN! Our instructor's name is Christian and he did a wonderful job of walking us through the process of glassblowing from start to finish, made us feel comfortable taking part in each step, and helped us make 2 really beautiful pieces we now use regularly. He had us do enough of the process that the piece felt like our own (even though he did all of the hard work)! We were there with multiple couples and happened to start making our pieces first. I would recommend volunteering to go first to minimize your wait if you already kind of know what you want to make (we already knew we wanted to make a mug and a decanter). While one of us was working with Christian at the glory hole, the other could have a bite of the pizza/beer/wine included in the fee and be amused by the rooster that hang out around the hot shop. The pickup process was easy, they make sure that the product doesn't have any sharp edges before you take it home. This was such a fun date for us and we would definitely go again to try our hand at making some other kinds of pieces!
google avatar

Yelp
FYI, it's hot. I mean it should go without saying, but...hot. It is a bit pricey, but the stuff we saw was hand crafted, and there was a demonstration/ class going on. The class seems a bit pricy, too. Overall, it was nifty to watch, and my kids got a few little pieces that were affordable.

Cynthia

Yelp
Cannot say enough about our experience. We enjoyed Mike, Dave, and Christian on a Sunday. Everything was well explained, great instructors, true craftsmen and artists, with one-on-one attention. At no time did I worry about my safety or that I would be stuck with a grade school looking project. They provided safety gloves and goggles. Anytime things started to go sideways, they took over to fix or let me restart. They were all very patient and encouraging including the cute little redhead at the front counter! They even welcome the community in just to browse for purchase or to observe the process. They have a cute pet rooster that was fun. Heads up parking is a pay lot. Do not get there at the last minute. I was put out at first by being told to prepare for tipping our instructors when I was going to be paying $125 for my lesson. I now feel completely stupid about being put out. I cannot imagine what this company pays in property taxes and their gas bill. Those two things alone along with the materials is covered by the $125. The Instructors give a million dollar service without even knowing whether they will be tipped or not. I recommend $25 per piece you create. We are not talking about plaster of Paris work here, folks.

Yelp
Went here for a date night and it was a blast. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The guys were knowledgeable and assisted with the glass blowing. Plus we got to go home with a cool product! Would recommend this place for anyone interested

Alexandra H.

Yelp
Our experience at the Glass Bubble Project was INCREDIBLE! Our family went to learn about glass blowing, we ultimately decided to make glass sculptures first as a good beginner step. Our instructors, Mike, Paul, and Becky were so kind and patient. They helped coach us through the process as we created our sculptures. The instructors really encourage the students to do most of the work, which makes for a super neat experience. Go to the GBP if you're looking for a unique experience and an opportunity to bond with new people creatively. I definitely plan to go back and do it again!

Chris M.

Yelp
I took my family out for the day here and we had a blast. They were not joking when they said hands on experience. We did about 90 to 95% of the work to make our different pieces. The staff is very knowledgeable of the process and how to get exactly what you want in your piece. They are very patient and love to share their experiences with you. This is a great place for a date night or a family outing. But be careful because you will have a great time learning.

Yelp
This is the fourth time we've been here and it's always amazing every time. You must make a reservation because if you just show up they may not have the ability to give you a class. When you come here you'll actually get to make glass ornaments, glass bowl, glass cup, paperweight many different options depending on the price you want to pay. The atmosphere is relaxed. the ovens keep it pretty warm even on cold days. They also offer jewelry classes, welding classes, and a few others I can't recall all of them. They will teach glassblowing even two younger children age 9 1011. It's an amazing experience. They also offer birthday parties and special events for a fee.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Wonderful, amazing experience! We had a blast ! Mike and Dave helped us through our pumpkin making process! It was a great way to celebrate my mother and daughters October birthday's Cyndi was very informative and helpful with scheduling the class. All around awesome, amazing experience and we will be back!

Yelp
The glass bubble is a hidden Ohio City gem! The small glass and welding shop is just big enough for two groups to comfortably work at the same time with a small retail/observation area. I visited once to check out the shop and watch some of the artists work then signed up for a class. The class was so much fun! Our instructor, Casey, was very passionate about his craft and was as patient as can be! He gave us a lot of freedom to pick what we wanted to make and gave us just the right amount of guidance. The whole "holding molten glass" concept can be a bit intimidating, but the instructors make the whole experience feel very safe and exciting. We chose the $90/person class which includes one solid glass piece and one blown glass piece. We were allowed to choose (we made paper weights and wine glasses) but were told most people make paper weights, hearts, wind chimes, Christmas ornaments, or cups. The class lasted about two hours. It's advised that you wear cool lightly colored clothing and bring something to drink because of the heat. You'll have to come back down to the shop about 72 hours after your class to pick up the pieces. They have to be kept in an annealer to prevent thermal shock (shattering). The shop does accept credit cards via Squade. As with any service, tipping about the amount you would for dinner is considered customary.

Yelp
Glad I came across this activity... most likely from the top 10 things to do in Cleveland list. I received great instructions on how to appropriately dress for this activity and what to expect. I worked with Mike who was friendly and patient with me. I was able to complete three pieces in just under 3 hours. Cindy, the cashier, was also very friendly and helpful with packing instructions as I was visiting from out of town. Very cool vibe with music playing in the background. So happy with the end results!

Yelp
I was here for a rep event for glassblowing pumpkins and it was super fun!! Here's what I got: Activity: the glassblowing instructor was very helpful and knew what he was doing. He stressed the important things to keep everyone safe, but I never felt surveillanced. Since it was a big group, there were two guys helping us simultaneously. I worked with Dave, who was very personable and easy to talk to. He was super helpful. It's harder than it looks, and they make it look incredibly easy!! Atmosphere: a cool unique spot for sure, but the space is more or less a shell, without any real interior. It is not fancy, and definitely an experience. A small chicken roams the space (which I freaking love - his name is Morty). We had a pretty large group in there (about 15 people), and the space felt tight, so keep that in mind for groups. A bunch of glass pendants hang from the ceiling, you can tell it's made with love! The facilities are essentially a utility sink and a small bathroom (think unfinished basement quality level). But hey, I'm not there for the bathroom! The prices for classes/workshops are expensive, but I would come again for something I really wanted to make! It was super cool and would recommend if you want something new to do! Note that you'll have to be able to pick up your piece a few days later to allow it to kiln dry.

John B.

Yelp
My wife and I went with two friends and had a great time. Mike (our instructor) took his time with us and let us do as much as we wanted. He was helpful, but let us do the vast majority of the work. The place is nothing special to look at, but it's definitely a gem. Morty is just the icing on the cake.

Yelp
If you're going to the Westside market this place is a must see stop. If you're looking to learn how to Blow Glass they even offer classes. So I have to say my favorite part was the chicken they have running around all the time!
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
We stopped in The Glass Bubble Project while visiting the West Side Market. So glad we did! What a great shop and a cool mascot, Morty! I love my one-of-a-kind purchases! We'll definitely sign up for glass blowing classes in the Fall.

Jaci C.

Yelp
What an awesome experience!! Everyone there was so welcoming and helpful!! We did the glass blowing class where we made 2 pieces. One was a hollow piece. I made a cup and a mushroom and my daughters made a cup, vase, turtle and butterfly. Perfect place for adults and kids! I highly recommend this place! Go check them out! They also have really cool pieces for sale and the cutest chicken!
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
We came here for a work event and had a great time! We each were able to pick out a piece we would like to make and the staff was awesome in assisting and walking through the entire process with us 1 on 1.

Yelp
You guys, I'm going to quit my life and become a professional glassblower. Ok, maybe not, but I'm vibe-ing so hard after my class last night, that I feel like I can do anything. The Glass Bubble Project is exceptional. The minute you walk in, you'll be blown away (ha!) by the gorgeous gift shop of hand crafted glass artistry. But you can do more than shop. Let me tell you, glass blowing is DIFFICULT, but Dan and David (the instructors), are phenomenal humans with so much patience. Me and a small group of my sorority sisters scheduled a time to come make an ornament/orb/wind chime, and they were beyond accommodating to our true beginner status. The process does take a few hours (there were 8 of us), so be prepared to make this a full night. The long night is worth it, because you'll feel so proud and impressed with your own ability to create. I love how Dan kept calling everyone an "artist," and I felt very comfortable with the safety procedures while we blew glass listening to The Beach Boys. If you schedule a time to go, also note that the glass needs 15 hours to settle, so you won't be able to retrieve your creation until the next day. Oh, also, there's a House pet chicken, Morty, who hangs out with you while you work--so what's not to love? Take the time to visit, shop local art, or schedule a session at this charming gem in Ohio City.

Yelp
Great ambiance here. The glory holes release the perfect amount of mood lighting and the chocolate wine and champagne of beers really adds to it. I had stopped in the shop to check it out before, but finally decided to try my hand at this glass blowing thing. Caution: HOT. It was super fun, chill, and informative. The actual duration of my hands on glass experience was about 10-15 minutes, and I'm probably going to go back for more. They really let you figure it out on your own with not too much help, so you feel like you created your piece on your own. I just went back to pick it up and am so proud. Even though they probably all look the same, I like to think mine is the best. I love the location and will surely stop back again, probably with some friends. Stop in next time you park at the West Side Market! You will (most likely) be welcomed with open arms.
google avatar

Doug M.

Yelp
This is such a cool place within sight and walking distance of the West Side Market. We happened to spot it while cruising for a parking spot. The public is welcome to stop in and look around, maybe purchase some hand made glass items, jewelry, etc. We got to watch someone blowing glass and working it after it came of of the furnace (kiln?). Very hot stuff. It's just amazing to watch really. They also had a cool rooster walking around the shop. I really liked the way they take old items and turn them into art or lamps, etc. You can come here and learn how to do glass blowing if your so inclined. Nice to be able to support a local business/artisan.

Stacie P.

Yelp
My husband and I attended the Date Night workshop. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We went through an instructive demo first, and then we were each able to make our own piece. The instructors work one on one with each student, and you are able to participate in each step of the process - it is harder than it looks! We learned a lot about glassblowing and have a new appreciation for the art. We had a great time and I am sure we will participate in additional workshops in the future. I would highly recommend taking a class or workshop if you have always wanted to try this. I would also recommend visiting the shop just to watch and see some of the cool items that they make there.
google avatar

Rahul H.

Yelp
My cousin scheduled this as a post thanksgiving activity for 6 of us. Dave and Mike were amazing. They gave us a quick intro on the process and the different techniques used to mold the glass. After that each of our group of 6 was paired with one of them at a time and we started to make our own pieces. I decided to make a bowl and it was a lot of fun. Mike constantly was behind me, giving me instructions and telling me what to do. When things were going off script, he would step in and fix things. In the end, we left the glass work to cool. The pieces were ready the following day on schedule. Another random highlight, there was a chicken in the workshop which made things interesting. Highly recommend this place if you want to plan a family event.

Yelp
We happened to stumble upon this very cool spot while making our way to the market. When you walk in you are greeted with beautiful glass sculptures and trinkets. It's a smaller shop and as we walked further in we saw very very hot kilns which seemed a little treacherous. It was definitely safe, but we could still feel the intense heat coming out of them from 20 feet away. We were lucky enough to see a demo of glass being made for a class that was about to start. Very cool process to see melted glass harden and transform into a class drinking cup and then into a bowl. I don't have a frame of reference what is expensive for a glass making class, but I think it was about 2 hours of demo and make your own glass for over $100. If I ever come back to Cleveland though, I probably give this a shot!
google avatar

Colt C.

Yelp
This place and its people are absolutely amazing! I took a glass blowing class here with my girlfriend and it was a great experience. As beginners, we had no clue what to expect, but to say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Every step of the process was hands on with individual attention from an experienced instructor. They walk you through the process step by step, never taking control (unless necessary or asked for). The pieces came out looking like something you would buy from a high end shop. The customer service was amazing. I will come back time and time again.
google avatar

Dennis V.

Yelp
Something different, and definitely worth doing! We took the introduction class which seemed a little expensive at the time, but after taking was more than worth it. In that class you work one solid piece, and two blown pieces. Our instructor Mike was very pleasant to work with and a very good teacher. Everyone there is very nice including the rooster that strolls around the shop. It takes a little time to get used to the process of gathering, blowing, and rolling, but they are very patient allowing you to get pretty hands on. I would definitely recommend...just be sure to wear something light as you will be in front of a pretty hot furnace for a while.

Yelp
Found this place while exploring around the West Side Market and cannot wait to go back again. They have all sorts of wonderful glass pieces for sale. From vases to art deco pieces there really is a lot of range to choose from but what I want to do is to take a class. They have classes on glass blowing!! You actually get to make a piece and bring home! How cool is that??? We plan to do one as a family and I will for sure update this when we do! The staff there was so cool to talk with and they are so encouraging. I think our family is going to have a blast!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
This place is really, really awesome! I had a really great time at the Glass Bubble Project with my dad. The atmosphere of the place is borderline sensory overload, with beautiful glass lighting hanging from the ceiling and all over the walls. We paid for a combo class for two that lasted around 3 hours, which was definitely worth it. The instructor, Dan, was super nice and informative. He even let me try to make a flower in addition to the solid glass piece and the blown piece we got to make. This is a great place for a date night, for spending time with your family, or if you're just stopping by. Not to mention, it's really close to Mitchell's and the West Side Market. I highly recommend stopping in and taking a class!

Matthew B.

Yelp
We were visiting the Westside Market on our first trip to Cleveland, and our son insisted we follow these enigmatic signs advertising "The Glass Bubble Project," and it turned out to be one of the most fun parts of our trip! The staff were so patient and kind, and let my very curious son get right up close and watch what they were doing. They were in the middle of a huge project that did not involve glass blowing, but they paused their work to blow glass bubbles for our boys, and they were so thrilled. Plus the amazing chicken walking around. As we were leaving, they called us back and loaded us down with stickers and coloring books. I feel very badly we didn't buy anything because we were limited on luggage on the plane, but if we ever go back to Cleveland, we will definitely get one of their beautiful pieces. This place just encapsulates everything that is cool about Cleveland and the Midwest--friendly, creative people doing their craft and sharing their joy, all in a really cool space. Check it out. We may move there just so my kids can take a class there.

Yelp
Very cool little shop. When they first opened up I was passing by. They invited us in and gave us a beer... or three. They also let me leaf through some of the "practice" pieces and let me pick one out for free. (This was a few years ago - don't go in there expecting to get what I got! haha! )
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cool concept! Loved doing it. Seems to be the latest trend, and I recommend this studio to try it. Super patient and kind workers!

Yelp
What a fun day! A friend and I picked up a groupon to make heart shaped glass paperweights. After a demonstration, we grabbed a High Life and some Munchies and watched as he class slowly started working on their own. There were two instructors and glory holes so two people were able to go at a time. The remainder of the class stood on the side, watching and munching and sipping. It's suggested that a trip to a local establishment (in our case, bars), is a good option to kill time and let the line work itself down. The whole crew was pleasant, encouraging and had a real knack for pushing the High Life. Plus the chicken, Morty, couldn't have been cooler!! I was more than pleased with the class and am excited to pick up my piece!

Lisa K.

Yelp
Love Love Love so much fun . Can't wait to go back . The instructors are great and patient. Don't forget to say Hi to Morty the rooster.

Yelp
Booked a combo class for two and we were both really happy with our experience here. I was able to book my chosen class over the phone, and the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful with helping me choose the class that worked the best for me. He was also able to take my credit card over the phone, and sent me a receipt via text instantly which was very convenient. Our class was two hours long, and we were able to make two items to take home with us (a paperweight and a blown item such as a bowl, a glass or a vase). We were greeted right away by everyone there, and of course took the opportunity to pet their in-house chicken Morty. Our instructor's name was Mike, and he was really friendly right away, starting off with a demonstration to introduce us to the basics. He was very patient with us as we learned the techniques, and took the time to chat with us as well. Overall a very chill vibe here, and I would highly recommend to others that want to stop in and see some creative things going on, or to schedule a class. The people running this place are beyond welcoming, and really work with you to create whatever you have in mind. Also interested in trying out their welding classes as well!

Peyton M.

Yelp
We came here to make wind chimes, the instructor was very helpful. We were really happy with the way they turned out and are exited to hang them up at home.

Yelp
Mike and David do a great job teaching and helping you blow great pieces. Easily the hottest place in town .. Say "Howard sent me" and get 10% off glass pieces and classes! Really one of the most fun places in the Cleves!!! You'll love it!!!

Yelp
My fiance and I stumbled upon this awesome place after an early evening snack at Mitchell's, on the way back to our car. There were a couple of classes going on when we stopped in but that didn't prevent us from going in to check out the place, talk to one of the teachers, or say hi to the random chicken that hangs out there. This would be a really fun place for a party with a small group of friends, date night, or even just for yourself! My fiance has always wanted to learn to blow glass, so I'm sure we'll be making a date night here in the very near future. Even if you don't want to make a creation of your own, they have numerous already made products for you to buy- including about 50 different light fixtures hanging from the ceiling of the shop, which I was obsessed with. You should definitely go check this place out if you are in the area, it looks like a ton of fun, and I know we'll be back to actually attend a class and make a creation of our own to take home!

Zoe W.

Yelp
Love this place so much. My husband and I stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad we did! Anyone can walk in and check out beautiful peices for sale and watch them blow glass. We signed up to each make a blown pumpkin and it was SO MUCH FUN! The staff are super nice and help you make a custom peice. They give enough support where you get to work with the glass and they shape out your mistakes so you actually get a good peice. But of course the reason why I really love this place is Morty, Morty the rooster that is. The local roster who lives at the shop and loves having his chest rubbed.

Robert N.

Yelp
Very cool family atmosphere and warm, welcoming staff. Gorgeous glass creations ranging from chandeliers to mugs to paperweights. And Morty the rooster likes his peanut butter! Haha. Definitely worth a visit.

Gretchen G.

Yelp
I brought my 12 yo daughter here, and she LOVED it. She enjoyed her experience from start to finish with her instructor ,Becky. She did the intro to glass blowing glass and made three awesome pieces and was able to keep the two demo pieces Becky made. I was busy taking pictures and videos so did not participate but had just as much fun watching the glass blowing! Cindy was also very helpful in getting us scheduled for the glass and helping get the pieces shipped home since we live out of town. The owner and other staff members were very kind and helpful as well. I also can't forget Morty, the rooster! He was sweet and just fun to watch. Thank you Bubble Glass Project!! Your place was so cool and the experience was AWESOMEIf you are in Cleveland, don't miss this place!!

Yelp
I came across this place because a friend posted something about it. I thought it looked interesting and thought I'd give it a shot. At first I was skeptical on whether this would be fun or not. Turns out it is a BLAST!! Me and my boyfriend went for the ice cream bowl workshop. It is unexplainable how awesome of an experience it is. It is just so cool to see the process and make your own item. They provide food and drinks and have such a fun environment. We had such a great time that we came back with my mom and sister to make beer mugs! The items turn out so beautiful and cool looking. I use mine everyday and absolutely LOVE them!!!! I 100% recommend this place to everyone and anyone! The location is also a nice spot.

Yelp
Not much to look at from the outside, but if you know where you're going, stop in for a bit, take a load off and watch these guys work. It's a little hot (the furnace is something like 2000 degrees) but watching the process of changing molten goo into an intricate glass bottle is well worth it.

Yelp
Up visiting family for Thanksgiving and we're walking around the market area looking at micro breweries on Friday night and we stumble across this studio with two classes going on. We immediately signed up for a class the next afternoon on Small Business Saturday and they only had one space left! Mike, the owner and founder, taught the class and was a great teacher. My mom, my girlfriend and I all walked away with these amazingly colorful mugs and one of the best experiences I've ever had. Will definitely be making a return trip every time we're here in Cleveland.

Yelp
I got a class on Groupon for my husband and I and it was really cool! I'd say the groupon classes are a bit crowded and you don't get a whole lot of time actually making your piece. But when you are doing it it's awesome, and our glass hearts turned out really cool! I definitely want to go back again for another class, but I'll probably try to get one together with some friends or colleagues so we get to make more pieces and get a little more time playing. Overall I was completely happy with the whole experience, and even my husband liked it!
