Anti-Trans Dinner Hosted at a Restaurant in Cambridge’s Kendall Square Sparks Boycott | Eater Boston

"A private-event dinner on May 18 titled “Born in the Right Body,” hosted by two anti-trans groups and sold at $200 a plate, prompted an organized response from a university trans-rights group that first tried to pressure the venue to cancel and then staged a protest of about 150 people when it did not. Protesters held signs (e.g., “Trans Rights Are Human Rights,” “HRT Saves Lives”), chanted, and were joined by the Cambridge vice mayor; organizers criticized scheduled speakers (including Simon Amaya Price, Jaime Reed, and Vernadette Broyles) for harming trans people and framed the action as solidarity and a demand for safety. The venue’s parent company issued a statement distancing the restaurant from the views of private-event clients and asserting neutrality, while activists cited research on elevated suicide ideation and attempts among transgender people and called for a boycott of the owner’s restaurant portfolio; the restaurant group declined further comment when contacted." - Tanya Edwards

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Glasshouse in Cambridge, and from a photographer’s perspective, this venue is truly a gem. My one criticism of restaurant weddings is flow - with spaces that aren’t designed to be wedding venues, moving from cocktail hour, to dinner, to dancing can be a logistical challenge. Glasshouse avoided this entirely with its spacious layout and intentional design. The minimalist design, exposed ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling windows provided a visually striking backdrop. As a photographer, it’s always exciting to work in a space this beautiful. One of the standout features was the large, beautiful entryway that hosted cocktail hour and dancing. The high ceilings and open layout made this area feel spacious and inviting, while also providing plenty of room for guests to mingle and celebrate. Coupled with the dedicated dining space which was kept hidden from guests until dinner, the flow was impeccable. The transition between the outdoor space, to cocktail, to dinner was seamless, and although the venue felt intimate, it never became crowded. Overall, Glasshouse offers a wonderful balance of style, intimacy, and flexibility. Whether indoors or out, the space provides countless opportunities for capturing special moments in a setting that feels both modern and timeless. I highly recommend it for couples looking for a venue that blends industrial charm with a touch of elegance.

Google
Falafel pita sandwich was excellent. If you’re going to advertise “award-winning clam chowder,“ you should at least serve it hot. Mine came tepid, but the server did reheat it without any fuss. Brewed coffee wasn’t that strong. Very appealing decor; however, they went with uncomfortable seating for no apparent reason.

Absolutely gorgeous place to have dinner! We went on a warm night, through a Boston heat wave, and the open doors and patio-style setup - in addition to the amazing food and service (my drinks never stayed empty for long, and there were more appetizers than I could sample) truly made the night feel like paradise. If you're in downtown Boston/Cambridge and are looking for a relaxing environment with a high-quality atmosphere and excellent cuisine, this is definitely a place to put on your list.

Google
I cannot thank Kristen, Shauna, and the entire Glass House staff enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams. Every step - from the initial tour, contracts, personalizing the menu and drinks, even clean up at the end of the night - was flawless because of their professionalism, kindness, and flexibility. I would choose Glass House over and over again if I could. Our guest count was 88 people, and while a reception-style dinner is unconventional it was perfect and fit the vision we wanted. Many of our friends asked "how did you find this place??" because they were having so much fun with the games, having delicious food and drinks, exploring the varied interior, and overall having a great time. I'm so happy we chose this restaurant for one of the best days of our lives.

I had an incredible experience photographing a wedding here. Even on a rainy day, the space, location, and service were exceptional. I can't wait to return soon!

Google
It's a chill and laid back restaurant. The prezel appertizer was my absolute favorite. It was warm and cokked perfectly! The fresh fries were really tasty too. The chicken sandwhich was a bit on dry side. Maybe if i asked for differemt sauce that it help it. Overall the waitress was really flawless too.

Google
We held our wedding at Glass House in November! They did a fantastic job all-around - the food and custom drinks were excellent, the separate dinner and bar/dance spaces worked well, and the whole event was very well-organized (Kristen N was amazing to work with). Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a bright venue with experienced staff for their wedding.

Went here recently for an early dinner. The clam chowder is excellent and I’m a native New Englander who is hard to please. Cocktails were well balanced, we tried the Tajin Dream and the Love Story. Cool space, prompt friendly service. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Our service was wonderful, the food was delish!!!! And the natural light made the ambiance serene.

Yelp
Great for large groups as there's a decent amount of space! Mediterranean plate - the standard hummus and pita - it was decent. Soft pretzels - the pretzels were soft and chewy and the dip was good. Lychee lemonade - extremely sweet. So sweet that I only took two sips and left it there. Pan seared salmon - it was seared very well. It was plated on a bed of bok choy because I did not want rice. The sweet and spicy chili glaze was perfectly balanced. Seasoned fries - the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was topped with Parmesan.

Yelp
I love this place so much! It's really underrated spot in the Boston area. Their pretzels made by Eastern Standard Provisions with beer cheese are amazing.

Yelp
Came here for a work event. Very nice place and I would definitely recommend them for an event. The staff were great. They had plenty of people manning the bar so service was pretty fast. We had catered apps as well as a meat cheese and cracker station. Everything I tried was very good. For dinner we had a buffet and all the food was hot and very good. There was really something for everyone. No complaints from me!

Yelp
I've been to Glass House twice now and here are my thoughts: The good - Beautiful space - close to Kendall Square - good sized portions The just ok - food is just ok, I've tried a few things now and it's all ok, nothing I would go out of my way to go get or have a craving for - rigatoni was under seasoned and desperately needed salt - creme brûlée was advertised as "passion fruit" but had 0 passion fruit flavor, it was tasty but just basic flavor wise - service is also just ok, staff is very laid back which can be a good thing, but also means no one was really checking on us, someone in our party was unhappy with their meal but it took so long for the server to come back that they just gave up on saying anything about it, drinks were empty and no one came by to ask about refills despite the place being empty Overall this is a nice place for a "fancier" meal at a price point that will get you bang for your buck.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday evening for an early dinner and the place was pretty quiet - there is a ton of seating, but not many parties occupied the space. By the time we left, the vibe was similar and it wasn't super lively. The hostess wasn't super friendly upon entering and when I was brought to my table (the other member of my party had gotten here before me), she just walked in a direction, didn't wait for me, and just walked away before I even got to the table. Very strange. Our waiter wasn't particularly helpful either - either he wasn't very experienced or didn't care, but he was a little standoff-ish. The menu was pretty self-explanatory so it wasn't a big deal and we got our orders in quite quickly. The drink was really nice in my opinion - I'm a fan of citrus so the Juniper Goddess was really pleasant. The chowder was great, tons of clam and a large portion size. The octopus was precut which was nice and cooked well, not too chewy and the sauce it came with tasted nice as well. My main entree was nice as well, the salmon being super tender and the sauce it coming with complimenting the fish well. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. The price was a little steep honestly and the service didn't make up for it though. I probably wouldn't come back unless it was someone else's choice, but I will say the food was super delicious at least!

Yelp
Went for Dineout Boston - thought we'd try a new restaurant. Excited to try something new as it's so easy to fall into a rut with familiar restaurants. Wow.... sorely disappointed. Asked for outdoor seating - restaurant really wasn't crowded, and they very nicely accommodated our request. That was great. Then things went down hill. We went specifically to check out the Dine Out menu, and I was super excited to try the short rib, but sadly was told they had run out. Fine, stuff that like that happens, I'll have the gnocchi instead. We ordered drinks to go with our meal. Drinks took awhile to come out. We were done with the first course before our drinks came out, and even then, my wife's order was wrong. Sent it back and got the right drink, after waiting another 5-10 minutes. Okay... Poutine and sweet potato salad were good as first courses. Hard to mess up deep fried potatoes and cheese with gravy, but regardless, enjoyed this part of the meal. Then came the entree. We both got the gnocchi (since there wasn't short rib). Wow... salty and super cheesy (too much). As someone who always finishes his food, I left much of it on the plate. Just couldn't finish with how salty and overly cheesy it was. And then that's when we noticed that not one, not two, but THREE tables who ordered after us all got short rib (and multiple plates of it too). What happened to running out?! I was already pretty annoyed, but then dessert came out, and it was the wrong dessert. This is after the waitress had come by to double check on which dessert we ordered. It was as if not a single thing could go right during the evening... At this point, I was pretty disappointed and upset with the experience, I actually lost my appetite and couldn't eat the dessert. I had a bite and pushed the rest away. I did ask the waitress about the short rib situation. She apologized and said the kitchen told her they were out. Poor communication seems to be super common here, considering our drinks, dessert, all had something wrong happen. All in all, the whole experience just felt super disorganized, food was meh (maybe the short rib would've been better), and honestly felt like we were getting the short end of the stick compared to literally every table around us. wtf. Won't be back. Ever.

Yelp
Love the vibe here! Got drinks twice here and loved the rosemary spritz the best. The cauliflower buffalo wings and the Brussel sprouts are great. The fries are a great pairing.

Yelp
Had a lovely date night @glasshouse450 . Very modern decorations and plenty of event space. The service was phenomenal and the food came out extremely quickly. As part of Dine Out Boston, there was a three-course dinner special for $41 a person which I would say is extremely reasonable. We each ordered different things for each of the courses, but recommend the ahi tuna tostadas as the appetizer, the chicken breast as the main, and the crème brûlée as the dessert. The other options were acceptable but nothing too outstanding. On Fridays, they have beer and seltzer flights. We also ordered two cocktails that were lovely as well. Will definitely return on another occasion to try the regular menu. Drinks: 8/10 Food: 7.2/10 Ambiance: 7.5/10 Overall Experience: 7.7/10

Yelp
What upsets me more than a restaurant that has an identity and tried to encapsulate that, but fails, is a mediocre restaurant with no identity whatsoever. The menu is all over the place and there's no real 'specialty' to look out for. I chose the fish tacos specifically because of the food-to-price ratio. The flavors were fine, but the fish was a bit dense (as in not flakey). There was enough to bring home. The pretzels were good, but I'm not even sure I can credit this positive to the restaurant because they openly admit that they're not the ones who make them. The cheese sauce, which I presume the restaurant did make, was awful--watery and more beer than cheese. Let's be honest. Places like these stay open because bosses in the areas take their employees and put the bill on the company. For that purpose, it is fine. Everyone can find something they want (if only up to that vague "new American" food standard). But I wouldn't go here for any other purpose.

Yelp
Interesting menu, kind of the Boston classics. They say their chowder is an award winner so I had a bowl. It was delicious. The clams were soft, and not rubbery. Mahi mahi tacos were nice, but actually a touch dry (better than over sauced). You can always asked for more, but I just removed one of the tortillas and it was perfect. The gnocchi bolognese was creamy and meaty and therefore rich. Great local draft beer selection too. The bar was full of the tech scene, the restaurant looked much more tame.

Yelp
Very solid choice for group events. Great drinks, good food, and a wonderful outdoor area with games (Jenga and pingpong), a gas fireplace, ample seating and lounge chairs. Drink selections were slightly limited, and we wished there was a larger TV monitor in the dining area.

Yelp
Vibe was good, food was aggressively fine. We did dine out and I would not recommend it for full price

Yelp
Located in front of one of Charles river canals, they offer a large and scenic setting for hosting events (indoor or outdoor). The place is not usually crowded and they have happy hour on weekdays. We had tacos, beer flight, and whiskey. All was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Good for organizing parties and group hangouts!

Yelp
Went for dine out. Place is big and spacious with laid back vibes. Dine out menu was slightly different from the normal one but the food was really good, so if the regular menu is anything like it I'm sure it's worth it. Arancini and calamari were both great. My main course and dessert (scallops with a grilled veggie medley and vanilla panna cotta) also good. Only had one drink, lechmere martini. It was right up my alley, not too sweet and strong. Service was average. I liked the vibes and energy. No pics as this visit's focus was enjoying the company of my group, which this place is perfect for
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
This place gave me Covid PTSD. Went for restaurant week so Atleast I did not have to pay full price. The drinks were awful. Only the Lechmere Martini was good. The food was trash. Absolutely no taste to the steak frites or the salmon. Made me remember was having no taste was like during Covid. I went for the creme brûlée and ordered it at the beginning when we ordered. When I asked for it, I was told they didn't have any. Extremely disappointed

John H.

Yelp
Excellent bar service from Ben. First rate beers with amazing selection. Salad with grilled salmon was fresh, properly cooked and served quickly. Cost was reasonable as well. Our party of 10 were all pleased!

Yelp
Glass house is a great place to grab a few drinks and appetizers with your friends after work or during one of their many special events. We've eaten there a few times and attended their Oktoberfest (which was phenomenal btw... put it on your calendar for 2019). They really excel in the beer and tap selection, as I would expect from a tap house. They have a variety of offerings and rotate taps fairly regularly based on the brewery release schedules. If I were rating them on the drinks alone I'd give them 4 stars. The food is where I have mixed emotions. The food itself is not bad or poorly executed, the appetizers are a good value and well executed, but the entrees are overpriced for what you get. The Thai Beef Salad is a great example where the flavors were quite good and fresh, but you got maybe 3 small pieces of meat. I'm not expecting an 8 oz sirloin or anything, but for the price it seemed a bit lean on the meat (pun intended). Their food is well-executed and plated with a lot of thought and skill, but each time when we paid it felt a bit high because of the food costs. That said, we have not had anything bad there but I feel from a value perspective this is one of the lower values we've been to since moving to Boston (at this price point). Please note that while most people would view 3 stars as a bad rating, I actually like the Glass House a lot and have been there multiple times. However, for the price point paid for food, there are other places I think that offer better value for the price point.

Yelp
Cute local spot in Kendall square with lovely outdoor seating, some fun bar games and and a nice interior with a funky central bar. We started off with the charcuterie board and burrata with fried green tomatoes, both were the highlights of the meal. The pasta we shared next was mediocre, but they brought it out already split into two portions which is always a nice touch. Staff was friendly and brought over an adorable rose gold bowl of water for my pup who was sitting on the patio with us. We split a bottle of rosé, but will be going back to try some of the many creative and tasty looking cocktails they have on their menu. Overall this is a nice spot with plenty of options, but nothing phenomenal compared to some of Cambridge's other incredible eats.

Orea N.

Yelp
We reserved this place with six tables and had confirmation for our company, then they decided to call us and cancel because they sold out the place to another company and decided we didn't matter and canceled us! Not the right way to conduct business! Your food is just average, nothing to brag about it!!!!!

Yelp
Came for Boston restaurant week. Food is good but not stellar, with the exception of the crème brûlée that was amongst the best I've had. Clam chowder is supposedly award-winning, and was quite good. The pita that came with the hummus was delicious. Steak was cooked well but a little cold, and the steak sauce was flavourful. However, the service left much to be desired. The hostess asked us 4 times if we were a party of two, which was written on our reservation and verbally communicated multiple times. We sat for 15-20 minutes without seeing a single server pass by...no water, no drinks, nothing. Turns out they forgot about us but to the credit of our waitress, the service did improve significantly once we were able to flag someone down. Overall a meh from me.

Yelp
Glass House is an oasis in an otherwise office-heavy part of Cambridge. I've come here on 3 occasions so far. Two Sunday afternoons and one Friday afternoon, all around 4pm. Each time, it's been practically empty upon arrival, but it does start filling up as it starts to get later. It's best to go when the weather is beautiful, as there is a spacious patio with tables & outdoor bar, and even if you're sitting inside, it's nice to feel the sun come through the large windows (it IS a "house" made of glass, after all). Celebrate the nice weather by grabbing a drink! I've had the blackberry basil margarita as well as the cucumber cutter. Both were refreshing although a bit pricey. They also have a surprisingly impressive draft list. On the menu, most just say "rotating draft" of the brewery, so you'll need to ask the bartender what is currently available. I've had the Boulevard Ginger Radler (gotta love those Kansas City brews!). You also might find Maine Beer Co, Fiddlehead, Night Shift, and more faves. During the summer, there is live music on the patio starting at 4pm. The musician played a variety of genres, from country to pop, Jimmy Buffet to Justine Bieber. It's was perfect: not too loud, catchy, and set a laid-back, fun vibe. As for food, I've tried a variety of appetizers: charred octopus, flatbread, house-made chips with onion dip, hummus, burrata, fries. Nothing bad in the bunch! I've had the Mediterranean Bowl for lunch which was fresh and filling. Again, pretty pricey, but good quality food to pair with your drinks. There are also games that you can play out on the patio! Two cornhole sets and a big Connect 4 are over on the far left side. Straight through the patio toward the back, you will find two ping pong tables. For these, you'll need to request the kit with paddles & balls from the bartender, and you can't take your drinks to that part of the space, but it's a fun, different activity to enjoy with your friends! Glass House gives you all you need for a laid-back, sunny afternoon. Live music, games, good food & drinks. You don't need glasses to see that this is the place to be!

Yelp
When I arrived, the hostess wouldn't deign to speak to me for some reason. She helped the person before me, pointedly ignored me, and helped the person after me. During this time, the guy I was dining with arrived, and she then addressed only him and continued ignoring me. I have no idea what about me provoked this response from her, but I haven't been able to brush it off.

Yelp
10/10 experience, would highly recommend for a wedding venue or any other type of event. The Glass House provided a venue that was modern, versatile, and fun for our wedding this past weekend. The staff is extremely professional. Everyone that helped us was friendly, supportive, and helpful -- from Jen, Shauna, and Maggie to the support staff on the night of the event . We had clear communication and responsiveness was above and beyond throughout the entire planning process. Major props to the Glass House for helping us host such a wonderful wedding in the pandemic era with a focus on safety. The space itself is wonderful. We had our ceremony outdoors with their beautiful greenery around. The restaurant was able to open to the outside throughout the evening for access to the outdoor bar and tables, games, and fire pit. The inside of the restaurant is spacious, comfortable, and beautiful -- it's no wonder the Glass House won an architectural award after opening! The food was fresh, delicious, and memorable -- from lobster rolls, to oysters, to bacon wrapped scallops, mac n cheese bar, prime rib -- our guests (especially those from outside of New England) were very happy. The bar service was phenomenal. Even setting up beforehand and taking home decorations after was convenient. 10/10 experience, would highly recommend for a wedding venue or any other type of event. The Glass House also hosts showers, dinners, parties, etc. My husband and I will be back for dinner soon!

Yelp
I came for a team event without high expecting. It surprisingly turned out well. The servers were very nice and friendly. The appetizers were tasty and served timely. The signature clam chowder was top notch and must try. The entree pan seared cod was delicious too, but a bit too creamy. My only complaint was silverware's were not provided when dessert was served. I did not expect to use my fingers for dessert.....

Yelp
So this place opened in the bldg next store to work and we didnt even know... The bldg kept getting Beverage deliveries and we just thought a company that was in there liked to party... Then one day all of a sudden there was music & a bar... BOOM!!! Like that... Out of Nowhere (Kinda like David Hasselhoff, ok I tend to go off on tangents..) So checked it out a few weeks ago & have been back a few times since. The decor is great, the bar is HUGE, the space is open & bright & comfy yet classy. There is a huge raw bar section, the bar has High Top seating in addition to all the seats around the bar. The main dining room section can also be rented out for meetings. Then the food, OMG.. The menu is all over the place in a great way, so much option... The Burrata OMG get 2... I could eat it all day long. The Naan bread was literally warm & JUST grilled before he brought to us. Octopus was great, good flavor. Flatbread great, I was told the Pastrami was the best Pastrami my gf had ever had. The thai salad I have had numerous times & there really is no salad to it, but OMG its insane good (and I add shrimp for more protein). Just everything has been dynamite & I will continue to visit. I just dont want to get sick of it as we have all been with everything in the area lately.

Yelp
We held an event for a rehearsal dinner there and everything went off without a hitch. The event was for 45+ people and we had our own area which included a portion of the bar. The food and drinks as well as the atmosphere was enjoyed by all. Great attention and food.

Lindsay L.

Yelp
If anyone is organizing a private event, I recommend Glass House. The menu for these occasions differs from the standard dining menu, but you can easily request it from an event manager for the restaurant. There were guests with a number of dietary restrictions, and we were able to design a menu for everyone. Our appetites were satiated. People kept remarking on how well organized the flow of the event was, and that had a lot to do with the teams behind cleaning, setup, decoration, management, and food and beverage service. It was a well coordinated experience. The ambience was excellent from the interior spaces to the patio. The layout facilitates organic spaces for people to gather and enjoy any special occasion. Since guests had various health conditions, I liked that the facilities were accessible. It is wonderful when accessibility is not compromised for aesthetics.

Yelp
Nice location close to the Kendall T stop. The place feels very modern and is very well lit from all the windows. The food is not bad but fell short of excellent. Went on a Thursday afternoon for a work lunch. We ordered the honey Sriracha hummus to start and I got the harvest bowl with chicken as my main. Though the presentation wasn't amazing, the hummus was actually pretty good and was accompanied by warm pita bread, carrot sticks, and cucumber sticks. They even brought out extra pita bread for us when we ran out. The harvest bowl was decently flavored, but the chicken was really tough and dry and threw off the entire bowl. Would have loved to have more of the chickpeas as well since they had a unique flavor to them. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Overall, decent location for a work gathering, but would not necessarily make this a regular spot.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and got seated immediately. Pricy but delicious American food. Waiter service was average and the restaurant itself was very nice (pretty fancy actually). It had a very business/formal atmosphere. I got the house burger (chuck-brisket blend, cheddar cheese, housemade pickles that I asked to not be included, smoky bacon jam, and fries on the side) for $16 and an unsweetened iced tea. My friend got the pan seared salmon (quinoa cake, wasabi-edamame emulsion, pea shoot and papaya salad, and grilled baby bok choy) for $26. She also got a latte for $3.75). In general had a good experience. Would come again, but maybe at a different time, as they do have different menus for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Yelp
I've been to glass house about 10 times since they opened. My office is nearby, so I've popped in for drinks, sat down for dinner, and hosted a few company events here. Overall I'm a fan!! Their beer list is awesome. It rotates frequently and they get some good stuff from breweries like Night Shift, Maine Beer Co, Fiddlehead, etc. Their cocktail list is seasonal, which I love (except when they got rid of my very favorite 450 fizz), however each time I go in I've tried something new and they've all been tasty. As far as starters, their seafood towers are great for a group, charcuterie has a good selection, the chips and dip are addicting. They change up their flatbread toppings really frequently...I've tried about 5 of them and they were all were all delicious. Their burrata dish is also fantastic, with the accoutrements changing with the seasons. The burger is A+...the bacon jam on there is divine! I haven't tried their ramen, but that's next on my list. I actually have never had an entree (other than the burger), but was with a friend that had the salmon and she thought it was only okay. Overall, I'd HIGHLY recommend Glasshouse for cocktails and small plates. It's big enough to host a group, and in the summer their outdoor patio is awesome. Service is always great, and their events coordinator(s) is easy to work with and friendly.

Yelp
Decent spot near the biotech hub in Cambridge - the usual overpriced for the area but that's just what that area is... It wasn't very busy and we were kind of ignored - we had to flag people down for drinks and to order food but overall service was friendly and the food was delicious.
google avatar

Kal G.

Yelp
I never heard of this place before even though it's been around more than a couple of years. It's located among a bunch of biotech companies in Kendall Sq. although it's not the only eatery in the area so it does have some competition. The space was large enough with a roomy bar area with some high top tables and decent big screen TVs playing the Sox game. Further inside were more traditional sit down tables. There was also some patio seating outside as well. The food was very good - we ordered the Spinach and Pear salad, Steak Frites, Thai Beef Salad and the Pan Seared Salmon. Everything was quite flavorful. The Thai Salad was almost a dinner portion and spicy/delicious. The Salmon was cooked perfectly but it could have used a touch more of seasoning. My wife's Spinach and Pear salad came with a memorable pomegranate molasses dressing. The frites from her Steak Frites were perfect. Almost forgot the drinks! The cocktails we ordered - Lechmere Martini and Summer Thyme - were outstanding, the kind I wish I could make at home. If nothing else, we would return just for the drinks! Kudos to our server who was hustling all night due to an apparent short staffing. The hostess and manager(?) were bringing out plates of food all night to help. I'm not sure if this is normal at this restaurant but I feel they could have used a few more people. The only downside was that this place was REALLY LOUD. Yes it was a Saturday night but if you want to have a nice conversation with others, be prepared to shout as if you're at a raucous hockey game...I guess some people just don't know how to use their inside voices - I'm looking at you, cackling (drunk?) woman.
google avatar

Lori Y.

Yelp
I've been here twice, for dinner and lunch. Both times were great. I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious. I've had the Thai salad (without beef) which was very good but little too spicy. I've also had the spicy red curry shrimp which was amazing! I would definitely visit again.

Yelp
I went here for Valentine's Day (I'm late on posting this review, I know!) and was very impressed. Despite being busy, the service was excellent. I'm usually so unsure what to order when everything on the menu sounds good, but the waiter was helpful and honest in his suggestions on both the food and drink menu. The drinks came out about 10 minutes before the food which was great; it gave my fiance and I time to talk and catch up - time I feel like you usually don't get often at restaurants! The drinks were stellar and the food was decent. I'd like to see more options on the menu, as it did seem a bit limited especially if people had dietary restrictions. I'd love to go back here just for the drinks, but the service was great and I'd definitely like to try a few more many items. Overall: I recommend!

Yelp
Came here with a foodie tour and had the sangria. Really nice classy atmosphere, I'd definitely come back for a night out with friends. They also had a really extensive cocktail menu. I'd be interested to go back and try the food sometime soon!

Yelp
I came here for dinner with a company who invited their interviewees to chat and learn about the company, so we had a private room for around 10 people with a 3-course meal. The food was delicious and service was attentive throughout! Course 1: Tomato bisque or salad. I got the tomato bisque and really enjoyed it for the thick texture and sweet tomato flavor. Based on observing those who had a salad, they also really liked the salad. Course 2: Vegetarian pasta, steak frites, or chicken with mashed potatoes. I got the vegetarian pasta which came with truffle sauce. It had really bold flavors. I personally couldn't finish the last bit from being too full and overwhelmed by the strong flavoring, but if there were a little more leftover I would have been happy to take it to-go to finish later when I would be less full. The other dishes looked delicious and were mostly finished as well, so I presume they were tasty! Course 3: Assorted desserts. There were éclairs and cookies; all the ones I tried were delicious. The restaurant is allergy-aware! Multiple of us had various allergies (I personally have a tree nut allergy); the waiters took note of them and we had no problem during the dinner.

Yelp
All the food was great and had a nice twist to it in some way. Even the hummus was particularly good, with just a bit of kick to it. I strongly recommend you end your meal with their creme brulee. It's not too crowded, but they tend to have a lot of events which can lead to a fair bit of overcrowding with people standing around chatting. I wouldn't show up without a reservation. We'll be coming back for group dinner.

Yelp
We came to Glass House a bunch of times over the course of a few weeks as it served as the host bar for an after-work cornhole league. This review is primarily for the bar service and appetizers as we didn't order that many entrees during our visits. There is a pretty robust and unique craft beer selection, and the bar drinks are well-made, however the outdoor patio bar selection was pretty limited. That would be fine, except they offer the full draft beer menu outside and the bartenders then had to frequently run inside to grab orders. This caused a lot of backups at the bar when busy. In addition, our tabs were incorrect 2-3 times over the course of our visits - a lot of disorganization. The bartenders and staff also didn't seem that interested in being the host bar for the league (despite the additional business we brought in). Finally, prices are pretty steep compared to the area; my wife is pregnant and even the mocktails and fountain sodas are gonna set you back. Overall, our experiences at Glass House were pretty off-putting. You're not missing anything by skipping this place - plenty of better options in the Kendall Square area.

Yelp
Everything said they were open. After a nice stroll we found a closed up restaurant with a note referencing some governmental order no other establishments were plainly aware of. Too bad. We enjoyed our last visit.

Yelp
Delicious food and good service! We came here for brunch on a weekend and ordered eggs benedict and French toast, along with drinks and were not disappointed! The drinks were yummy and potent, and the food portions were very generous. Everything came out fairly quickly, and we never felt neglected by the wait staff.

Yelp
So this place shows up as one of Boston's most Instagrammable restaurants when you Google it and when you walk in, you totally get why. It is literally glass everywhere, so a) that light hit different and b) you can snoop at what everyone else is eating and drinking. I came here for a work lunch with three others. We ordered the honey-sriracha hummus (very flavorful) and then each of us ordered our own sandwich. I had the mushroom melt, which was soooo incredibly truffle-y and cheesy. It came out piping hot with delicious well-seasoned fries and would totally have been Instagrammable had I not been at a work lunch.. The waitstaff is exceedingly friendly and efficient. This place is great!

Yelp
Considering the limited and overpriced menu, the rats roaming around the outdoor space, and the lack of parking validation, I really do not see any reason to come back.

Yelp
Good food ruined by awful hostess and worse noise Our family of four dined here recently on a not so busy Monday night. Unfortunately, the hostess seated us immediately next to and behind a very large and boisterous party and refused to allow us to move. We had reservations, there were open tables available, yet she would not budge. We should have taken this a hint to leave...but sadly did not. So for three quarters of our meal we literally had to shout at each other to be heard. And look at the empty tables at which she refused to let us sit. Which was a shame since both food and drink were good. The clam chowder, oysters, octopus, and lobster roll were in fact exceptional for a non-seafood focused restaurant while other dishes such as the Thai beef salad were equally tasty. As were the (not) Mint Julep and Frojito. But at base I would never go back...and would suggest you avoid it as well unless you just want to hang out at the bar. It isn't as if Cambridge suffers from a scarcity of wonderful restaurants in which one can actually enjoy dinner with friends and family.

Yelp
Came here for a work lunch. Place is alright, with a decent menu selection though it is pricy. I had the burger which was good but a bit overcooked for my taste. Wouldn't go out of my way to return but not a bad option in the Kendall area.

Yelp
We hosted our wedding reception here and couldn't have asked for a better venue! The location was lovely for photos by the Charles and the small canal with kayaks, and they were able to open up the glass doors so that the outdoor and indoor space were essentially combined. We'd had the North End buffet option which was delicious, and the bartenders and staff were all incredibly friendly. Everyone we talked to afterwards spoke about how much they enjoyed the event, and we credit that heavily to the planning and day-of help from Shauna and Kristen. We're incredibly thankful and can't wait to come back for some regular meals!

Yelp
I waited to give my review on this place because I first went when it opened. I went there again and now I think I'm ready to give my assessment. For the first time Me and the BF got the gnocchi lamb poutine, roasted oysters, fried fish tacos and the charred octopus. Our first visit was great I loved the food and even asked for bread to be brought out so I could dip it in the sauce from the poutine. For drinks I got to taste two white wines and picked one for my glass and the BF got a beer. We were impressed and new that we would be back again! We went last night, 18th to celebrate my birthday. The server was great. We ordered the same items mentioned above in addition to the smoked blue fish and well our taste buds didn't have the same experience as the first time. The poutine had just too much gnocchi and there was no sauce for dipping the bread-very unfortunate. Also the poutine looked like it was premade and not fresh like the last time. The charred octopus didn't melt in my mouth like the last time. Although we enjoyed the fried fish tacos it was missing a sauce to blend the flavors. I didn't enjoy the smoked fish but my bf did so I think that the flavor wasn't best for me. For drinks I went with a sparkling rose which was served in a fancy glass and he got beer. The service was absolutely wonderful it was attentive but also he gave us time to ourselves which we always like. Overall, I'm giving this place 3 stars because of their lack of consistency. Because this is a restaurant the food should be consistent throughout and well it wasn't. It's definitely a must try- when the kitchen is having a good day. The service is wonderful!

Yelp
Service is slow and the place is very loud and crowded even for a pub, but the food is great which really makes up for everything.

Yelp
Average over-priced place in Kendall. The flint lime margarita (12$) was not very spicy, and had kind of a strange taste; I'm not sure the jalapeno and blood orange worked well together. The Chef's flatbread (15$) was basically what you'd expect: potatoes on flatbread is difficult to do badly. Pan seared salmon (26$) had a nicely cooked salmon, but the rest of the stuff was not as well done. It came with a "crispy" quinoa cake which was just... a pile of quinoa with slight toughness on the bits on the sides, and the baby bok choy was a single piece of bok choy sliced in half lengthwise and grilled. (Thus making it logistically super annoying to eat). The wasabi-edamame emulsion didn't have much flavor and seemed to only serve the purpose of inflating the menu description. The bread pudding and creme brulee were okay, but nothing special.
