The 38 Best Restaurants in Toronto, Canada | Eater

"For award-winning chef-owner Keith Pears — who has led Team Canada at the Bocuse d’Or for several years — you can call his food whatever you’d like except “Asian fusion” (he prefers the term “thoughtfully remixed”). However you classify his dishes, the food (and modernist, jade-toned space) attracts everyone from the scruffy Gen Z set to Birkin-toting ladies who lunch. Try the fried chicken with honey butter that’s sandwiched between black sesame waffles. Or go for the scrambled eggs, which house scallops and tiger prawns in their soft curds. If you drive: Parking in this plaza can be a mess, so arrive early to get a prime spot without having to play bumper cars." - Tiffany Leigh

I wanted to dine in Glass Kitchen for a while. I went to most of the restaurants in that plaza. So recently I decided to check out this place. Many things and experiences happened as I did 😋 It was a very beautiful sunny Friday. The moment of stepping in, I liked the vibe immediately. I loved the interior decorations and the thoughts they put in details. It carries a sublime feel to it. There are 2 parts of the dining sections. Some people complained about the timely (or not thereof) service. To me staff were superb. Not only that, customers were dressing cosmopolitan and acting friendly that day. I ordered 4 dishes, all of which were delis and presented aesthetically. Maybe it’s only me but I don’t like to smash my food, and especially rice. I’m a boring eater 🤭 who like to gets a little bit of every dishes and put on my own plate. Pasta, garlic fries and clams were also exceeded my expectations. My friend commented that the clams tasted “live”. It’s true. It tasted fresh out of the ocean. Server were very attentive & coming every now & again to check if everything was okay or we would need anything. There were 3 staff on my table, though I think Naomi was my main sever. She was cordial and efficient. Plus she’s pretty 🥰 girl crush alert. I think the price is very fair compared to how great it is, in general. Some people complained of how coffee isn’t refillable. C’mon now!!! I went to a few Asian Fusion restaurants but I liked this one the most. And I have to be honest, it’s mostly for feast for the eyes, the presentation. My friend turned up hungry man’s symptom & ate all the food 😋yes I think the food is def yummy and worth the price. 10/10

Delicious food and really beautiful lighting for pictures during the day. The restaurant is right on the corner so it's easy to find. Everyone enjoyed their food and the drinks were well received. They allowed us to stay after eating until it got too crowded which was nice of them. There's a little barista bar where the drinks are made that adds to the cute aesthetic. Overall service was okay. I'd have liked if they checked up on us a bit more to ask if we needed anything since we did need something a few times and had to flag them down but that wasn't a major issue with how nice they were.

I recently visited this restaurant with a friend who was looking for a good pancake spot to try. I had come across an advertisement featuring their pancakes, which looked absolutely divine, so I decided to make the one-hour drive… yes, a bit of a trek, but I wanted her to try something special on her birthday. We went on a Monday, and that happened to work in our favour. Although the place was fairly busy, we were seated promptly without a reservation. The decor was beautiful and unique, definitely gave the place a special atmosphere right from the moment we walked in. The menu offered a variety of options, and when the food arrived, everything looked incredible. Unfortunately, the taste didn’t quite match the presentation. While the pancakes and other dishes were visually top-tier, the flavours were fairly average. I also tried the Pink Matcha Cloud, which looked stunning but had an unexpected soda-like mocktail twist that wasn’t quite to my taste. Overall, the experience was pleasant, mainly thanks to the visual appeal of the food and place. However, the flavours didn’t leave a lasting impression and it hit the birthday celebration a little south so I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again. That said, if I’m in the area, I’d consider stopping by to try their dinner menu.

We booked for lunch and had a happy gathering there! The food was good - the Lamb Skewers, Galbi rice, and OG rice were tasty. The Truffle Fries were crispy and indulgent; the chicken & waffles were nice twist too. We were actually more excited to have their mushroom soup and lobster buns again but sadly they were no longer on the menu, which was a bit of a letdown. Hopefully they will bring back these items. We did celebrate my sister's special day and the lava cake was a highlight - it was really good! Service was excellent, thanks to Leo who was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Furthermore the coffee was well-made - latte and flat white were both good. Wonderful celebration there!

Glass Kitchen is a total gem! The food is absolutely immaculate, the service is lovely and attentive, and the atmosphere is just gorgeous. We had a short wait time of 20-30 minutes at 11:00am on a Sunday, which is not bad whatsoever. The entryway to Glass Kitchen is spacious and has seating, so you can wait comfortably. Once we were at our table, we were in for what would eventually be truly one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant. The Cloud latte is SO good, plus it comes with the most adorable latte art. The "cloud" whip is delicious and the espresso used at Glass Kitchen is rich. We enjoyed some burrata & beet salad, which has the most scrumptious but light dressing on it, and it made the perfect starter. The Biscoff pancakes and Crazy Wavy chicken dishes are immaculate. Absolutely recommend. The breading on the chicken is super crispy and works beautifully with the mushroom gravy and egg yolk. The home fries are also SO good, especially with the accompanied sauce. Lastly, the Raspberry Lychee Baked Alaska... truly a perfect dessert. We were SO full by the end of our meal but couldn't pass it up. The ice cream tasted fresh and light, making it the perfect end to our brunch. The staff were wonderful and attentive and made us feel cared for. If you haven't tried Glass Kitchen yet, I can 100% recommend it! Parking was easy, the atmosphere was great, and it was the perfect place to visit in Richmond Hill before a long drive back to Ottawa.

If you're on the hunt for a standout brunch experience in the GTA, Glass Kitchen in Markham is a must visit right now! We had to wait to get in because it was so busy, but the wait was absolutely worth it. The interior is beautifully designed, and the service is warm and friendly. We tried their iced matcha strawberry latte, which was super refreshing with the perfect balance of matcha and strawberry. For food, we ordered the Biscoff pancakes and trust me when I say they were delicious! The Biscoff sauce over the soft, fluffy pancakes was just perfection. The presentation made it even more appealing. We also had the short rib Benedict. The ribs were boneless and slow-cooked, topped with rich hollandaise sauce, and it was honestly one of the best takes on eggs Benny I've ever had. The only downside is that they don't take reservations for brunch, which is a bit odd given the current wait times, but when it comes to the food, there was absolutely no room for disappointment.

Came to Glass Kitchen for our anniversary following a recommendation from our daughter. What a gem! The atmosphere is young and hip and the food was beautifully presented, unique and delicious. I especially loved the Thai mussels. Our server, Mabel was very attentive and gave great recommendations! Looking forward to coming again with friends!

We came here for brunch and overall, it was a decent experience — but a few things missed the mark. The brunch food was good, and the vibe and decor of the place are definitely a highlight — stylish, cozy, and inviting. However, the drinks were underwhelming. I ordered the Power Up juice expecting a citrusy boost, but it tasted almost entirely like cucumber — couldn’t really taste the pineapple, orange, or lemon at all. It was very small too. Service could have been better. The servers weren’t very attentive, and we ended up having to go to the bar ourselves just to ask for the bill and pay. On top of that, the coffee didn’t include refills, which we only found out about when the bill came — a heads-up would’ve been appreciated. Not a bad spot, but there’s room for improvement, especially in service and drinks.

Yelp
Came Valentine's Day for brunch. The service was exceptionally fast and the servers all very helpful and friendly. The food was all very delicious. I was surprised that it wasn't too busy when I got there, but it did start to pick up as I was leaving. You should definitely make a reservation if you do plan to go.

Yelp
I'm back almost a year later to try their brunch menu & it did not disappoint! There's a lot to choose from with some overlapping items from their dinner menu. What we got: -GK Salad (6.5/10 - nothing special) - Smoked Salmon Tartine (7.5/10 - hard to cut) -Seafood Scramble (8/10) -Ube Pancake (6/10 - great but personally not a fan of Ube) -Strawberry Pancake (10/10 - strawberry sauce & strawberry butter so good) -Steak Crazy Wavy Gravy (9/10) -Kimchi Pork & Cheese Springroll (10/10 - surprisingly v good & I normally don't like springrolls) -Fried Chicken & Waffle (10/10 - v tender/juicy & hot chili maple was so good!) -Pink Cloud Foam (10/10) -Matcha Latte w/ Expresso -Salted Caramel Affogato

Yelp
Glass kitchen is a beautiful restaurant for a nice brunch on the weekend. My friends and I had a reservation however, there was a huge line up for the waitlist. I would recommend making a reservation to avoid long wait times. The service was really good. They ensured we had everything we needed. I felt a bit rushed but it was probably because they were trying to ensure more people had the chance to eat. Food: - pink cloud matcha: 4/5 stars. I'm not a huge fan of matchas but my friend wanted to try it out. Pretty good but I tasted more strawberry than matcha flavours. - Ube pancake: 4.5/5 stars. So good!!! Nice airy, fluffy, and light pancakes. The Ube butter and sauce were really good. I kinda wish I could taste the Ube a bit more but really good still. Would reco - KalBi dish: 3.5/5 stars. It was ok but it was not your traditional Korean KalBi short rib flavour. It was more beef like texture and taste. It was ok but would not get again. - chicken and waffles: 5/5 stars. The chicken was soo good!! The waffles were also good but I couldn't tell what flavour they were. The chili maple sauce was the best part of the dish! Loved this Would highly recommend this place!

Yelp
An upscale asian-fusion brunch spot. Super slick reflective interior that really feels fancy. Has a coffee bar in the center which is a nice touch. Food was great. Jakarta Lamb Skewers: Definitely the standout. The lamb was tender, and the coating added a delicate crunch to the skewers. The sauces were very interesting. The peanut sauce was nice, but tasted a bit too strongly of fish sauce. The red cabbage emulsion was very earthy with a hint of sweetness. The OG: A take on a locomoco. The patty was rich and meaty, unfortunately the mushroom gravy was runny. But the star of the show was the yuzu cucumbers, which really freshened up the dish. Shakshuka: Standard, well-made shakshuka. Not much to say here. I appreciated the spicy sausage. The bread was similarly excellent. Ube Pancakes: Beyond the spectacle of pouring the ube syrup on the pancakes, this dish was a real treat! The pancakes were buttery and fluffy, and the ube syrup was the right balance of ube flavor and sweetness. My only complaints are that the syrup has some grittiness to it, and that the ube butter was wholy unnecessary. But a great stack of pancakes!

Yelp
I've been here for dinner service before when Glass Kitchen first opened. All the food were amazing, especially the Shrimp & Grits, Hokkaido Scallop Risotto, and Fried Chicken & Waffle - highly recommend these items! I've been longing to come back for brunch, and decided to come here on a Thursday for a GDO. We ordered the Shrimp & Grits, Smoked Salmon Tartines, Mushroom Soup, and Smoothie Bowl. The presentation was beautiful The smoothie bowl was delicious according to my friend. Unfortunately, the sauces for the shrimp & grits and the smoked salmon tartine were very salty, and the soup was quite sour for my liking. On the other hand, service was fantastic, our server was friendly, attentive and very considerate.

Yelp
I decided to try The Glass Kitchen last month since I was in the area. The restaurant decor was quite nice especially the floor to ceiling windows which provided a lot of natural light. The presentation of the food also did not disappoint, as every dish was beautifully plated. However, while the visual appeal was on point, the flavor didn't quite match up. The food itself was decent but lacked that "wow" factor that would have made the experience more memorable for me. For drinks, I had the KP cold pressed juice, which was refreshing and tasty. I walked in on a weekday afternoon and was seated right away. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Parking is plentiful in the plaza, though it can be a challenge to find a spot during peak hours.

Yelp
Went for brunch for a friend's birthday. The atmosphere was calm and the overall presentation was good! I enjoyed the Lamb skewers and the pink cloud matcha.

Yelp
Glass Kitchen is located in the Commerce Gate plaza on Highway 7 just West of Leslie Street. If you go during prime dining hours, the parking lot can get quite busy making it difficult to find parking. There is an underground parking lot that is available if you can't find above ground parking or just prefer to park indoors though the staircase/elevators take you to the middle of the plaza which requires a short walk to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is very modern & beautiful. The lighting is perfect & they do have dimmable lamps on each table for you to control how bright you want your table to be. We ordered the yuca fries, Jakarta lamb skewers, burrata and beets salad & the Korean short rib poutine to start. We initially order two orders of the yuca fries however changed it to the poutine quite quickly (our server was easily accessible) and without any issues. She was also really great at pointing out how many lamb skewers, etc. each order has so that we would be able to make an informed decision on how many to order. Everyone enjoyed all the appetizers! My favorite was the poutine. They use tater tots instead of french fries. It was loaded with beef, cheese and gravy. Very delicious! Even though I have read other reviews that hype up the lamb skewers, I found this to be just okay. The yuca fries were yummy. Nice & crispy! For our mains, 3 of us got the GK burger. They didn't really comment on it so not sure how enjoyable it was though 2 of them did finish everything on their plate. My friend who is Korean ended up getting the Korean Galbi Short Rib crazy wavy gravy. She didn't really enjoy it but should of known better. I would never order Chinese food in an Italian restaurant haha. One of us girls ordered the shrimp & grits. She didn't finish all the grits as it is quite heavy especially with all the bisque (she said it was like a lobster bisque). For myself, I ordered the Hokkaido Scallop risotto. The risotto is done with butternut squash. I could taste the squash and it was pleasant. I can't really speak for the risotto cook itself since I rarely have risotto so I can't tell a good one from a bad one. The scallops were a decent size (4 in total) and the cook on it was nice. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with good service. We all agreed that we enjoyed the appetizers over our mains. If I were to go back again, I would probably just get their poutine.

Yelp
We made reservations in the earliest we can get in there was 1:45 PM. However we arrived in the area around 130 and we were able to get seated. When we walked in we were greeted from a very nice hostess. Very beautiful environment, sophisticated decorations, and the staff were all very informative and pleasant. Presentation of the food was perfect and the flavour pallets worked together. I got the seafood scramble and I shared it. We ran out of bread and they were ordered some and brought it promptly to the table which I thought was amazing cheeseburger empanadas made to order, and I love that they took the time to explain the best way to consume. The only thing that would top off this meal would've been a mimosa. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes.

Yelp
I'll admit, I went into this place expecting not to like it. Brunch, in general, isn't my thing--I've always thought it's overrated. The idea of waiting forever for overpriced, mediocre breakfast food just doesn't appeal to me like it seems to for everyone else. That said, I saw a reel about this spot and decided to give it a try for Mother's Day. Since I couldn't make a reservation or find an online waitlist option (which, let's be honest, all busy restaurants should have by now), we decided to test our luck by going early. We arrived at 11:15 and were added to a Yelp waitlist. Unfortunately, we didn't get seated until 12:45. The hosts, to their credit, were gracious, regularly thanking everyone for their patience and acknowledging the long wait. Once we got inside, I was a bit confused--there were 5-6 empty tables, and it didn't seem like a lot of people were leaving all at once. Not sure why the wait dragged on so long. The interior is as cute and Instagrammable as they come, so anyone looking for aesthetic vibes will be happy. Our server, however, wasn't quite as warm as the hosts. We had to flag him down a few times, which was a bit frustrating. While I don't need constant check-ins, some level of attentiveness would have been nice. Now, onto the food. We tried the Biscoff pancakes, the OG Crazy Wavy (their take on a loco moco), and the seafood scramble. The pancakes were the highlight--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and not too sweet or heavy, which I appreciated. The OG Crazy Wavy was also good--unique enough to stand out from standard brunch fare and full of flavor. The seafood scramble, though, was the weakest of the bunch. It wasn't bad, just not very exciting--if you're into eggs and bread, it'll work for you. We also had a few non-alcoholic drinks. They were fine but could've been much better with fresh juice. On the bright side, they arrived quickly. Prices were typical for brunch, and portions were decent. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. I'd recommend giving this place a shot, but only if you can snag a reservation. The food's good, but it's definitely not worth the long wait without one.

Yelp
Overall, I enjoyed our brunch at Glass Kitchen. It is a pricier spot for brunch (the lattes were $8 each) but the menu was quite innovative and the food was generally delicious. I had the mini lobster rolls ($27) which is actually supposed to be a starter, and it was buttery and rich enough to be a main. The side of home fries ($7) was also very yummy. The fried chicken and waffle came with a twist as the waffles are black sesame HK-type waffles, which we enjoyed but thought it could've had stronger black sesame flavour. I think everything was good but again, quite pricey but would recommend if we want to treat ourselves to a special brunch for special occasions.

Yelp
Glass Kitchen is in a very busy plaza which makes parking challenge however reservations are prompt and the staff are friendly on arrival. The restaurant is very modern with its decor and lighting not to mention the dishes and flatware perfectly complement the accent colours. The food service is timely and the quality is excellent. While the menu does not indicate gluten free options there are several available if you ask the staff. The portions are also generous. We went for brunch and it's on our list for dinner sometime in the near future.
google avatar

Yelp
Decided to give them place another go and the food was just as delicious as last time. We got the Yuca Fries, Korean Galbi Short Rib, GK Burger, and Grandma Jade's Chicken Cordon Bleu. My favourite surprisingly is Grandma Jade's Chicken Cordon Bleu. For someone that is very particular with their chicken, they made it so that the chicken was not too dry. The Yuca Fries were really good too. However, there were she large pieces of fiber in them that I did not enjoy. Overall, an amazing meal once again and I will definitely come back!
google avatar

Gary T.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, how we the plaza can get pretty busy during lunch hours and may have to go down to the underground parking lot. Food was presented nicely, looked good, and tasted good. Price a bit high for what you're ordering.
google avatar

Brenda Y.

Yelp
I'd been hearing a lot of great things about this place and finally decided to give it a try. We ordered the lobster roll and lamb skewer. The lobster roll ($27) was decent, though I expected a bit more lobster. Near the bottom, it was mostly just bread. The lamb skewer ($15), on the other hand, was delicious. It had a peanut coating, and the sauce complemented the dish perfectly. The service was excellent, and the food tasted fresh. My only critique is the price (ex. Lobster roll) --I found it a bit expensive, so I'd probably reserve this spot for special occasions..
google avatar

Yelp
Aesthetic place, but in terms of food it's very mid. I decided to go back a 2nd time to give it another shot, but was disappointed. The 1st time I went for dinner. We got the skewers (soso), the scallop risotto (ok), lobster pasta (pretty good) and the baked Alaska (it's very sweet, but with the passionate fruit's tanginess it really ties the dessert together, I enjoyed it). We paid about $60 per person - my friend and I didn't think it was worth it. Not bad, but we'd rather spend the $60 elsewhere. The 2nd time I went for brunch with my boyfriend. We got the fried chicken with the black sesame waffles. The fried chicken was done well, but the waffles didn't add to the dish. The chicken overpowered it. I've had fried chicken and waffles at other cafes and found it much better. What makes this dish a bit different from other places is that they use black sesame egg waffles instead of your typical waffles and the fried chicken has a bit of spice. The Shakshouka tastes very homey. Nothing special about it. The Lotus Biscoff Latte was decent. The coffee is more prominent and has a slight taste of Lotus Biscoff. You can taste a decent amount in there, but if you like a stronger Lotus Biscoff taste, then this isn't for you. It really depends on your preference. I've had this drink at a different cafe and preferred it there more. I can make a good coffee on my own, so when I'm going out I'd rather pay for a stronger Lotus Biscoff flavour since that's not something I'd make at home. Also, both times I've been here it was really loud and hard to hold a conversation because we couldn't hear each other. So even though it has a cute interior for a date, it'll be hard to talk.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a weekend. Best to get a reservation in if you're planning to come around the usual dinner time of 7-7:30pm. We knew that the restaurant would be busy so we came early at 6:15pm and were able to grab a table without having reservations. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant is very nicely decorated in a modern style, like a resto you'd expect from DT Toronto. We ordered the hamburger empanada, fried chicken with cavier and the chicken cordon bleu. While the fried chicken was delicious, the cavier doesnt do anything for the dish as it's overpowered by the fried chicken. Better to order the normal fried chicken and save your money. The cordon bleu was fantastic. Came with a nice potato puree and refreshing pickled salad. The chicken was super tender and well seasoned. The hamburger empanada was nothing special, would have liked a traditional empanada better. Overall a good experience and would come back to try their brunch menu.

Yelp
Finally made it here for a meal. Reservations were made in advance and are highly recommended as it was busy for a weekday lunch/brunch. Dining environment is very pretty. What was ordered: The OG Galbi Cheese Steak Cha Siu Pork Belly Short Rib Eggs Benny Salted Carmel Affogato Biscoff Latte The bennie was nice as it came with potatoes and a little fruit salad. The tater tots that came with the Galbi Cheese Steak was a little surprising as they looked like your standard frozen tots. The cha siu pork belly was a new menu item but the sauce that came with it was a little too thick and sweet. It was hyped up hoisin sauce. I would not order this again. The pork belly itself was done nicely though. The place was busy but service was still good. It looked like they had 2 staff that could take orders and the others were runners that brought you your food, cleared the tables etc. Food was filling and heavy. It would have been nice to have a little green salad to balance off the rice, eggs and meat. Would we come again? Yes, only because there were other items on the menu we were interested in trying like the Biscoff pancakes but there are other places with similar concept that we consider better.

Yelp
If there's one thing they've mastered, it's these visually stunning dishes. Starting strong, the Ube Custard Cake was almost too pretty to eat. It was not too sweet, and the ube portion of the dessert lacked the depth of flavor I expected from ube. The crust on the other hand was so buttery and flaky. I mostly ended up picking off the crust to munch on. Of all our dishes, the Burrata & Beets salad was hands down my favorite. A treat for the eyes and the palate. This dish was so light, refreshing, and flavourful. The dressing was slightly acidic, the greens fresh and slightly bitter as they are, but paired with the sweetness of the beets, it was a feast for the senses As stunning as these pancakes were, they were quite heavy and again lacked the flavour of ube I expected. The whipped cream was light and sweet, the ube butter was the star of this dish, slightly salty and sweet. Aesthetically, the dish was gorgeous.

Yelp
I have came here for brunch for the third time in August. It's such a pretty spot to take family and friends. I recommend making a reservation as it can get busy. I have tired a handful of their items. My favourite is their ube pancake, shrimp grits, and chicken and waffle. All three of these have such unique flavours and pairings. Nothing like anything I have had before! The dishes are presented so pretty and the restaurant overall gives such a great impression. Service can be a little slow during busy hours, and there's a siting limit of 1.5 hour.

Yelp
Always a good time at Glass Kitchen! Visited for the second time for my friends birthday. We ordered the lobster linguine, fried chicken, and cheeseburger empanadas. This place is a higher end and pricier place in Markham but it is so justified!! yummy yum yum.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try the brunch at this restaurant but ended up going for dinner instead. The interior of the restaurant is nice, service is good and the menu is interesting, but I was underwhelmed by the food. The dishes were aesthetically pleasing but they were not hot enough, and was a bit lacking in flavour. I'd still he interested in trying the brunch menu which is quite different, but not crazy about the dinner options.

Yelp
Made a reservation a few weeks in advance and I am so glad we did because it was packed for Saturday brunch and I truly see why! I have no complaints whatsoever. This is everything I'd want from a brunch spot. Lots of parking, fantastic service, beautiful decor, interesting coffee options, an ambitious and adventurous menu which is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend and I will be back!

Adiel R.

Yelp
The decor, ambiance, plates and cutleries were very aesthetic and instagram worthy. Service was suprsingly disorganized. When we arrived we told them we had reservations and we provided our name. They ended up calling us to let us know our table is ready. Servers were not as attentive and friendly when compared to similar brunch places. The food was typical and nothing out of the ordinary for a brunch spot. The menu has recently been updated. The potatoes was the suprising hit! It was very crispy and airy in a good way. The short ribs eggs benedict was typical. Strawberry pancake was not saucey enough so had to ask for extra jam. The OG rice dish was good.

Yelp
If you're looking for a nice brunch or dinner option in uptown Markham/Richmond hill area, Glass Kitchen is where it's at! My first time here for dinner (usually go here for brunch). But dinner is just as good. Has the lobster linguine, fois gras poutine, and the ube cake. Service was excellent! You need to make sure you make a reservation on weekends though. Will return!

Samantha C.

Yelp
Great food, beautiful decor, good service. They only have a 1.5hr seating though (at least on the Saturday morning that I, which can go by quickly. But it is very easy to make an appointment online. They do have two high chairs, so it's first come, first serve. Staff were friendly and no complaints about their service during the meal. Food was delicious! We got the ube pancakes, lobster bennie, short rib bennie, biscoff latte and fireball. The ube pancakes were good, but I was expecting the ube to be infused in the pancake, whereas it was pancakes with and ube sauce we pour over. The lobster and short rib bennies were really good. The home fries it comes with were super crispy! Drinks were pretty good. The fireball was good to wake you up as it had ginger and cayenne in it. It was well balanced so the tumeric wasn't overpowering. Very cute place to have brunch! Would come back again for the brunch or to even try their dinner menu.

Yelp
Overall the food was pretty good. Ordered the short ribs eggs benedict and the scones to start while my friend ordered the matcha pancakes. The scones had a nice buttery flavour which paired well with the fresh fruit and raspberry jam. The ube butter, however, did not have any ube taste, just the taste of salted butter. The benedict was delicious with a nice, rich, hollandaise sauce and perfectly crispy potatoes. Just wish there was a bit more kimchi for the tang. The pancakes, while I did not have much, from the bite I did take, felt like I was biting into mostly butter. From the whipped cream to the pancake itself, the whole dish just felt too buttery. Price was a little high for what the dishes are. The waitress was very friendly however it took a long time once we finished to get their attention for the bill.

Yelp
Food is OK but because of the presentation, it's expensive . Nice decor, very friendly staff, lots of parking. Reservation recommended. We came at 10:30 and it was full. If you want to post in social media, this place is for you.

Yelp
What a cute place!!! I came to get a cup of coffee and to wait for some friends. The hostess was very kind. I didn't stay very long, the aesthetic of the place was very cute! I really liked the atmosphere. I will go back in the future to try out the menu.

Yelp
As an early bday celebration, I took my gf here for saturday brunch. Making a reservation was super easy and efficient. We had seen this place grand open (from the outside) but heard that they had a huge waiting list so we just chilled for the first month that they opened. Meanwhile, we kept hearing good things about it from other ppl (so I guess you could say there was a lot of positive hype). We arrived for our 1pm res and noticed that there was a massive line. Idk how busy dinner is (I would assume similar lineup) but make sure you get a res beforehand! Mini lobster rolls: The bread was SO soft and the lobster was tasty. It was heavily seasoned w/ citrus which gave it a really bright and fresh note. The truffle butter on the side was a nice touch but honestly neither me nor my gf were able to taste any truffle haha. Short rib benny: The potatoes rival those of Alchemy or Next Door. Crispy edges but tender insides. I think the hollandaise was also richer than the one at Alchemy. The short rib was soft and melt in your mouth. English muffin underneath was also outstanding. I actually like the fact that you get fresh fruit rather than a pile of salad (The fruit was also chilled! Small details don't go unnoticed). Some of these brunch spots we've been to, stack 2/3 of the plate w/ salad and it just feels like an attempt to rip the customer off. The fruits are definitely much preferred. Seafood scramble: The eggs were perfectly cooked throughout. I just wish for the price we would've gotten more than 1 scallop. Drinks: My gf got herself a matcha latte. The latte art on top was pretty and it tasted pretty nice (I wonder if you can suggest a more intricate art to the server). Not sweet at all. I myself, got a strawberry espresso fizz. It was heavy on the espresso flavour and then you got a hit of slight strawberry carbonation at the end of each sip. Don't think I would order it again but it wasn't bad at all! The decor is beautiful. Everything is glass or looks like glass (like its namesake). The washrooms are fancy. The service was also on point. Every time I turned around and glanced at a server they came over right away. I think all the hype is justified/deserved. The food IS indeed excellent. Would I return? Definitely. Would I be a regular customer? HELL NO. It's one of the most expensive restos in the york region area. I agree w/ Jessica M about the pricing. This resto is charging downtown Toronto prices but in Markham. Every single person I've talked to agrees that the food is good but the price is insane. I would call that an accurate TL;DR description. Excluding drinks and starters, I think most of the mains on the menu start at over $20.

Yelp
Reservations definitely recommended! It such a cute space and everything is so aesthetically pleasing! The black sesame waffles and chicken is such a great combination, yuca fries were perfectly crispy - can't wait to try more from them

Yelp
An update! The hostess remembered me lol. This is my third time here. I still love this place. Staff are so friendly and I'm so happy that I got to try the famous brunch this time. The ambiance is definitely more casual and relaxed at brunch than at dinner. Loved the lobster eggs benny!! The egg was super juicy and the fruit cup that came with it had great variety! Lobster was FRESH and amazing. The shakshuka was great! The pepper in it gave a nice kick to the entire flavour profile. That egg was JUICY.

Yelp
Finally visited the viral brunch place a month ago. We didnt make reservations, but luckily got a seat 15 mins into opening. We were told we could only stay for maybe an hour? The restaurant was almost 75% full at that time. The menu was long so it really took awhile to decide what to order. Food was definitely on the pricier side..and drinks too. We ordered food and that was when things got interesting. The restaurant was already loud and because we were sitting between two tables, the ones on the left started raising their voice as if they had the restaurant to themselves. There was only ONE barista and drinks took at least 25 minutes. Food took more than 1/2 hour. I started getting a headache from the two beside us. As soon as food came, we quickly finished up and left. Food and drinks were ok. I didn't taste any black sesame in the waffles though.. It was definitely not a good experience. It would have been better if the tables weren't placed so close to each other.

Yelp
It was my first time coming here for dinner, and I enjoyed it as much as brunch! We ordered the Hokkaido Scallop Risotto, Lobster Linguine, and Tuna Fish Stack. Our servers were helpful and friendly, and quick to refill our water, and answer any questions. It was a bit cold inside of the restaurant (I think AC was still on since it was end of September), but the decor was still aesthetic and picture perfect!

Yelp
I heard a lot of great things about the brunch at this place. But really wanted to try it's dinner. So finally got in on a Friday night. It was busy but not too busy. So we didn't really have to wait for a seat. The decor is very nice but has a casual welcoming aspect. So I think great for a first date or a nice casual date night. Or even hangout with friends. The prices for the food are fairly reasonable and Asian fusion pretty creative. We had ordered 4 things 3 of which is in the picture I had posted. The only thing I didn't post was a picture of the baked Alaska. Overall the food was pretty good and hearty. The portions are fair and is pretty filling the loco moco was particularly good . The only thing I didn't like was the salad did not pair well wit the octopus. The curry was good. And so much so. That I wish they had some sort of bread or rice or noodles carb to soak it up and make use of it. The Hokkaido scallop squash risotto was very good. Although I would definitely eat it with something salty before hand to have a nice mix. The baked Alaska was a great desert I would encourage people to try it. It's a call to an old school throwback desert. And is worth the price. Great balance with the raspberry flavours inside. The service was good. And overall I enjoyed the ambiance. The only complaint I might have is the food took a while longer than I expected to come out. But overall it did not dampen the experience. I would recommend people to try this place out

Yelp
Was lucky enough to snag a reservation for Sunday brunch 2 days before. The restaurant was filled just before 12pm, but I thought it'd be busier since other brunch restaurants I've visited on weekends usually have a line and wait time. The service was mediocre, it was often hard to get the attention of our waiter but they were very vigilant at refilling our water glasses. This was my first time at Glass Kitchen and the food was a hit or miss for me at that price. The biscoff latte ($8) disappointingly didn't have a strong or unique flavour. The pork rib benny wasn't anything special either, I don't think there was enough kimchi on our order but the eggs were poached perfectly. The baked Alaska was also disappointing, the outside was too charred the burnt flavour definitely ruined the meringue and the overall taste. The biscoff pancakes were the star of the show - I would definitely come back for these. The table we sat at was a little too close to the table next to us, it was a tight fit squeezing through the tables. It was also really cold inside

Yelp
Location/Service This place is in the new corner slot of Commerce Gate - you can't miss it once you turn in. Plenty of parking available, including underground if you don't know! Love the interior - very brunchy during the day and romantic at night. The utensils and quality that they have are very similar to Issan Der - so that gold/classy vibes to it. Staff were also very nice and friendly - I really also appreciate them explaining the dishes once they come and also being able to answer questions regarding their menu and food items Food Came in with a few friends for lunch so we ordered a lot of things. Everything was really spectacular. I really like their ube scone and biscoff pancakes - these are great to share. Both were very buttery to taste, fluffy and pack with their unique flavour. As a main, I got the seafood loco moco - which had an onsen egg, lobster, prawn, scallop and a nice pairing of the ginger garlic sauce. Their dessert - ube custard cake was also good. Right amount of ube and sweetness. There were a lot of hype on this place and I think it really lives up to expectations. Want to take my family here next time!

Yelp
We saw all the hype on Insta for this new Asian fusion brunch spot. It's got that swanky downtown vibe but is located in Commerce Gate! This place is super busy. I was eyeing reservations for the weekend a few days in advance all the prime lunching times were all already gone. They also don't take same day reservations. We decided to walk in anyways. The surface parking at Commerce Gate was all unsurprisingly all taken so we wound up in the underground area. We got to GK at 1pm and were quoted a wait time of an hour. The host dude looked kinda pissed at the audacity of us walking in. They will take your number down so you won't be held hostage there. It actually only took about half an hour to be seated. Service was mega slow. After ordering our food, we waited 45 minutes for it. We also all ordered drinks like Americanos and lattes. These came out one by one with intervals of like 10 minutes in between. I was a little shocked at how teeny tiny the portion sizes were. Everything was plated really nicely and made you feel like you were at a fine dining establishment though. Well, kinda, cause we were seated at the back of the restaurant next to this wall of plants and that's where they were storing a bunch of stuff. The shrimp and grits was extremely tasty, just small. I guess one plus is that it let me save room for dessert, in the form of the Coffee Lava Cake which was really freaking tasty. The Biscoff latte was also really good, just note that the only alternative milk they had was oat milk. It was a tasty meal but a little bit on the pricier side.

Yelp
Recently had a chance to try the latest buzz in town. The Asian fusion menu and its brunch reputation had me excited, but my dinner experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The place has a nice vibe but felt a bit crammed. Despite a reservation, we had to wait 30min to be seated which was a downer. The service was friendly but somewhat slow given they were at capacity. The presentation of the dishes were admirable, but the execution of some of the dishes fell short of expectations. I had the scallop risotto and the scallops were overcooked. My friend ordered the grilled octopus which apparently wasn't the freshest. I have to say the flavours were average. While my initial experience was lukewarm, I'm intrigued enough to revisit for their famous brunch. Hopefully it will live up to the hype! Visit Jess.feed.me for more food photos!

Yelp
T.DOT EATS newly opened brunch spot in Toronto is so worth the visit. The entire place is stunning and ultra modern and their menu is PHENOMENAL. We went for brunch and resos here are a must! * We tried their: - Jakarta lamb skewers ($15) - Galbi benny ($28) - Biscoff pancakes ($21) - Espresso strawberry frizz ($8) - Caffe latte ($6) * Overall I totally recommend their lamb skewers because it was the best I've ever had. It literally melts in your mouth and not to mention the almond crust and peanut sauce paired amazingly with it. A must try item for sure! * The Benny and pancakes were also super good and rich and perfect for sharing if you want to get a variety because they were loaded with flavour and were so rich and filling. * I definitely went back home on the plane in a major food coma after the meal and it was so worth it! * Glass Kitchen 505 Hwy7 unit 98 & 99 Markham ON.

Yelp
A new popular spot for brunch and dinner. Setting are nice with high ceilings. Staff is very welcoming and fast. We came in as a group of seven, being greeted and seated immediately. Foods are good too, nice presentation, portions are very small though. Reservation in advance to avoid lineups during weekends

Yelp
Love this place! Ambiance was giving earthy and serenity vibes. Every plate of food we ordered was delicious and the presentation was perfect. Would highly recommend trying their burrata and beets as well as their lobster linguini. Service was quick and friendly 5/5

Yelp
Very aesthetic interior and dishes. The matcha was okay, nothing special. We ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was good and the potatoes had a nice flavour. The matcha pancakes were fluffy but very heavy. A little pricey but they dishes were presented nicely.

Yelp
Ratings: 3.5/5 stars Made reservations on a weekday at 11am. The restaurant was not busy at the time of our arrival and we were seated promptly. Eventually it got busier and by the time we left, the entire restaurant was pretty well fully seated. We were told immediately after we were seated that the table is reserved for 1.5 hours dining time only. The interior decor is stunning and IG worthy. Food was good, but pricey. My friend ordered the Biscoff pancake and loved it. I ordered the GK burger - the portion of the fries was smaller than expected. The washroom on the other hand was dirty. Poorly maintained. Looks like no staff even stepped into it themselves to see how dirty it was. Other than that, it's a nice place to check out for brunch or dinner. Easy to locate. Would come again to try other dishes on their menu.
