GLASS Wine & Bistro

How absolutely incredible is this place!? We had dinner here for my birthday. Every detail is taken care of. The food is magic. We had the bisk, the scallops and the beef. Wow. The beef was melting in your month. Dessert was also amazing. The hostess (owner) is the sweetest, most friendly lady with whom we had a lovely conversation. Michelin star is in the cards for this restaurant!

Definitely a must try in Antwerp. We celebrated my husbands birthday on a casual Wednesday night but there was nothing casual or ordinary about this restaurant ! The food was delicious and so beautifully served & the service was excellent! The wine pairing suggestions were on point and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Highly recommend !

GLASS 📍Vlaamsekaai 40, 2000 Antwerpen Glass Antwerp a bistro & winebar at the South of my favourite city. The mastermind behind this restaurant is chef Wouter Van Tichelen. Even more spectacular: he does everything alone in the kitchen. Glass is rewarded with a michelin star and they absolutely deserve it. This experience was divine. We chose the full option menu, because we wanted to try it all. We started with a amuse bouche: a chicory soup with squid and croutons with squid ink. Then we started with the menu. @woutervantichelen, the master chef, and @jurgen_lijcops_photography, the master sommelier, make a formidable duo in the culinary world. Together, they have opened the charming wine bistro @glass_antwerp in the trendy Zuid neighborhood. For those who enjoy a pre-dinner drink or a post-dinner nightcap, a visit to the neighboring @barburbure is an absolute must! Glass opens at 6 pm and welcomes walk-in guests, so not all tables are available for booking through Resengo. This is because Wouter and Jurgen want to keep some tables open for those who suddenly crave a delicious meal and a glass of wine after visiting the popular cocktail bar Bar Burbure. The restaurant may be small, but it created a wonderfully cozy, peaceful atmosphere, decorated with shades of red. (Hungry Antwerp)

Ik had het genoegen om hier te dineren en het was een geweldige ervaring! De sfeer is warm en uitnodigend, met een stijlvol interieur en de vriendelijke gastvrouw Sally die ons meteen op ons gemak stelde. Het menu biedt een heerlijke selectie van gerechten, prachtig gepresenteerd en vol van smaak. Elke hap was een genot, en het was duidelijk dat er door de Chef Alain Smet veel zorg en passie in elk gerecht was gestoken. De service was uitstekend, attent en deskundig. De aanbevelingen van de gastvrouw en haar zoon maakten onze avond nog specialer. Dit restaurant is een aanwinst voor de stad. Een perfecte plek voor een bijzondere eetervaring. Ik kom zeker terug.

Een heerlijke en verrassende wereldkeuken met verfijnde gerechtjes. De chef is een echte wereldburger die zijn inspiratie haalde uit talloze reizen en ervaringen in restaurants over de hele wereld. Een leuke anekdote is dat de chef meer dan veertig restaurants in totaal in een week, geproefd, getest en gesmaakt heeft. Die culinaire ontdekkingen hebben hem gevormd tot een unieke kok die vandaag zijn eigen pad volgt. Het is niet zomaar een avondje uit: je wordt ondergedompeld in een intiem en rustig kader met slechts acht tafeltjes, wat zorgt voor een aangename sfeer waarin je echt met elkaar kunt praten. De bediening is uitmuntend: vriendelijk, warm en persoonlijk. Wij kozen voor het vijfgangenmenu met aangepaste wijnen – een absolute aanrader. Ook de locatie is top. Prijs-kwaliteit is dit zonder twijfel een van de beste restaurants in regio Antwerpen Zuid. Een culinaire ervaring die je bijblijft.
