Right now I only have 3 stars because I didn’t really get to explore or enjoy too much more than the parking area. My daughter met up with friends for some pre senior prom pictures. There’s been so much rain…not much anyone can do about that. It did make the scenery pop. Even on this day it was terribly cloudy, but luck must’ve been with the girls because we did get some beautiful pictures. One of the moms called ahead to make sure we could be there and the place was nice enough to allow us. They did give a heads up that there was a wedding and we made sure to stay out of the way. I can’t wait to go back when the weather is nicer and when I can enjoy more time there. Plus, I’m sure I’ll be giving a better rating than 3 stars! 🤩

Another pleasant surprise found in Philadelphia. First time here saw a free Art event and decided to go. And took a nice tour of the Mansion facing the river.

Absolute stunning venue and location on the river bank. Great staff, service and so much history. Grateful this place has been kept in its original stature and beauty.

Why is this place so beautiful? I was floored at the beauty, the size, and just like wow on this place! My friend rented to this to have her grad party and it was just nothing short of amazing! Great views and just a great time!

Glen Foerd is absolutely breathtaking. It is the most stunningly elegant, yet natural, indoor/outdoor venue that is also on the water, which was exactly what we were looking for. From the beautiful historical mansion with a wrap-around porch and patio for cocktail hour, the art gallery upstairs, views of the Delaware with picturesque sailboats and greenery, to the year round standalone tent with lighting for the reception, it truly felt like it had everything. No matter rain, shine, heat, or cold, there is a solution for all weather conundrums and it will be gorgeous no matter what. We got SO MANY compliments from our guests, who had so much fun exploring the grounds, and said that it was one of the most beautiful and classy weddings they had ever been to. The bridal suite upstairs is a dream and we fell in love the second we stepped inside. The guys have an equally amazing, manly, rathskeller man cave downstairs that they had so much fun having pre ceremony drinks in. The staff is also incredible, most notably Kelly, Emma, and Alfonso. Kelly was our coordinator throughout the planning process and was very responsive and available to answer any and all questions during the year and a half we planned our wedding. Emma was our day of coordinator and she was the absolute BEST, making sure our day was seamless and fun. Alfonso was our head maitre d’ and he made sure cocktail hour and dinner went off without a hitch. Both Emma and Alfonso each hand delivered us a tray of hors d'oeuvres and made us plates for dinner. We had told ourselves that we would definitely make sure that we ate but truthfully in the whirlwind of the day, if it wasn’t for Emma and Alfonso, I’m not sure if we would have! You can also expect to attend a tasting before your wedding that will take you all the way from arrival through cocktail hour and dinner so that you can see exactly what it will be like and taste all of the delicious menu items so you can better make your own selections! The food was sooo delicious, we highly recommend the bacon wrapped short rib if it's an option. We absolutely love Glen Foerd and the staff and it was the best day of our lives! Cannot recommend it enough

Google
A beautiful mansion along the Delaware River located on State Road and Grant Avenue. The grounds are well groomed and landscaped. There is a large rose🌹 garden with several varieties. Many large trees who weathered the test of time to tower upward towards the sunny blue sky on this day. Wonderful view behind the mansion of the Delaware River and the New Jersey side of it. You can tour the mansion. I posted a picture of a sign with the days and hours it is open for. Took a friend here she loved it.

Google
What a great hidden masterpiece of America’s Gilded Age in Philadelphia. Located in Torresdale section of Northeast Philly- the property borders The Delaware River with great views of it. The grounds have relics and remains of a grass tennis court/ horse stables/ guest houses and everything inside the main house you would expect. A huge working organ- grand ballroom and lavish bedrooms filled with time period accommodations.

Yelp
Needs a bit of love but really interesting history, nice views of the river and terrific stained glass ceilings. Be sure to look up!

Yelp
An absolutely stunning historic mansion. My friend lives in the area and took us for a neighborhood walk and I was plesantly surprised when THIS became our view! I can't speak to the inside of the house since we didn't go in, but the outside had a walking path open to the public, located right on the Delaware River so on one side you get stunning water views, and the other side you're seeing a gorgeous historic mansion. They also have lots of benches lining the walk path so you can sit back and relax and just stare out at nature or read a book if you'd like. This mansion looks like the perfect spot for a wedding or party. They had a cute gazebo on the grounds and also had an area that was clearly meant for a large tent if you were to have a party there. If I lived in the area, I would walk these grounds everyday. So relaxing and stunning.

Yelp
Attended a wedding here. Truly a magnificent building and grounds, made for a romantic old-timey setting without being ostentatious. Though food is probably dependent on the catering partner or package, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the highlight of the evening.

Yelp
What gem! Went to tour the home and grounds, which is totally free! The mansion was built in 1850 and has great riverside views. The interior is impressive and the period pieces and architectural elements are gorgeous. There is an impressive art collection in the upper level salon. Just go.

Yelp
Came to see a live musical performance that I got tickets to from a veteran website that I get tickets from and had the chance to not only enjoy the views of the Delaware and nature but also a mansion with a museum inside, and a live musical performance all in one. The mansion was so beautiful and there were so many pieces to look at and so many areas to explore. The museum tour was free for us while we had sat for the performance but there were a few areas that were closed off- and the museum staff had mentioned that they had closed off the top flier due to repairs and wasn't sure when it would open up again. I was a little bummed that we couldn't see what was upstairs but everything else I had a chance to see was amazing! The musical performance I had seen that day was good but having a chance to explore a museum as well was the icing on the cake! I would definitely come back here again to take in the sights.

Yelp
A beautiful venue with a rolling landscape, Glen Foerd can host a party up to 300 people. I got to experience Glen Foerd thanks to their preview party for the Jazz Age on the Delaware. They gave us the down low on the party (a must go in my mind) and also a full tour of the site. As I mentioned, it is a beautiful venue. Rolling landscapes with plenty of outdoor space and views. The inside is delightful as well. They have a small art 'museum' for lack of better terms, gorgeous hardwood floors, and multiple rooms to set up various break outs if necessary. Someone else noted the history and character of Glen Foerd and I couldn't agree more. As for the food, wow. They hit presentation, style, and taste. From apps and drinks to desserts, nothing disappointed. I'm lobbying for my work holiday party to book a spot now!

Yelp
The beauty both inside and outside of this historical mansion is breathtaking! as soon as we saw Glen Foerd we knew our wedding would be here! They have indoor and outdoor options for ceremonies and receptions. We held our ceremony outside on the beautiful grounds with a view of the mansion and the water. Our reception was in the open air tent and pictures were inside and outside of the mansion. Jamie Hollander was the caterer and the food was amazing! our guests are still talking about it! Our event planner from the venue was Grace and we loved working with her throughout the entire process. Whether you are getting married or looking for a beautiful historic place to visit Glen Foerd is perfect!

Yelp
Glen Foerd is a beautiful property that had picturesque views of the water with gazebo or sailboats and clean cut landscaping. The property is large enough that events are not at risk of overcrowding. Although the event I attended was a bit disorganized with the checkin process, I really enjoyed myself with the catering, the volunteer/paid staff and the setting.

Yelp
Best place for weddings ever. Art gallery with Monets upstairs. Incredible stained glass. Pipe organ with pipes making up the walls. Rathskellar (basement) with huge keg walls, antler chandeliers, a wine cellar, cigars, brandy.... I could go on and on. Special events planner and service: amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone. Get married here if you can afford it... you will have the best memories ever.

Yelp
This is an absolutely beautiful location with delicious food! The wait staff is wonderful as well as the waiter to guest ratio. Though the staff was very nice, there was a definite lack of communication between employees/ management. On our wedding day, this unfortunately caused a lot of frustration and disappointment. Our seating/ dinner plans for the evening were not met. Many guests were aggravated, which was upsetting to see. It all worked out fine in the end, of course.... as nothing was to bring us down! This location, in my opinion, is NOT good for a lot of guests. Particularly, this refers to a stations style dinner. I would max it out at around 75. It just doesn't work otherwise. There is not enough space and not enough seats to accommodate everyone comfortably. We had the max 155 guests and it was definitely too many people. Also, beware of the "second bar". The cost is $700 to get the "second bar". however, the term second bar does not mean that you get 2 bars, as is implied. Instead, it is one bar that is open for a bit in one room and then moves to another location later. The first bar closes up completely. Other than all of that, the location is absolutely STUNNING!! A gorgeous location with a lot of charm. There are beautiful rooms to explore including a remarkable art gallery and a large and relaxing wine cellar. Our ceremony on the river was unique and lovely. A true gem in Philadelphia!!

Yelp
This is a BEAUTIFUL historic site on the Delaware River, in the far, far Northeast on State Road, just before you leave Philly and enter Andalusia/Bucks County. Glen Foerd is a perfect place to have a wedding or other major event, since it's just so scenic. The house is just breathtaking. It's hard to describe how amazing it is, so check it out for yourself.

Yelp
Glen Foerd Mansion is a beautiful venue with lots of history and character. I've been to several parties here and everything is always perfect. The staff is the best and they always do everything possible to make you comfortable. There are so many unique areas to check out if you find yourself at an event here. Make sure to see the art gallery upstairs and the old-fashioned cellar. Both have some interesting things to look at, especially after you've had a few drinks. I'm updating my pics so you can see what I mean!

Yelp
I had a good time with my friend in here ...the building is very nice and old ....the house near by the river and beautiful garden . That was event of party 20s -40s , everybody wear clothes of 20-40 , they looked so fancy . My friend had free two ticket from yelp ...so I was lucky had small tour around building and enjoy amazing foods and drinks I can not stop look at the few couple dance ....I wish I can dance like them ...

Yelp
A nice venue for a wedding. Had our wedding there late fall so we were not able to appreciate the total ambience of the river and grounds. Be aware it is not handicap friendly. As for the restrooms there is a high end trailer type facility, not very nice. Also we had to demand a separate handicap restroom/porta potty. As for the caterer Jamie Hollander, I was disappointed in the food. We opted for the basic package. Cocktail hour was mediocre at best. We paid extra for the seafood spread. Although plentiful, not impressed with the quality. Our main course dinner was also a disappointment. This place is not cheap by any standards, most of your dollars are for the administrative fees and service fees and the charge of their equipment, tables, china, flat ware, etc. Also they charge you for everything with a high mark up. We were charged $810. for heat powered by propane. If you are considering this venue serviced by Jamie Hollander catering read and question every line and detail of the proposal.

Yelp
One of undiscovered Philadelphia treasures. Incredibly beautiful mansion and gorgeous park. Recently it reinvented itself as a performing space as well. Concerts are going on in the evenings every month after hours. Musicians love the sound, guests are shocked that such a place exists so close to Northeast Philadelphia and they did not know about it. Several small issues if you are planning to go. Do not believe GPS! It will try to have you turn left one block ahead of the proper turn. Go to the end of the road, make a left and drive straight into the the gates. Staff is really helpful with parking, but I would recommend to car pool, because it is not enough.

Yelp
I have attended so many events over the years at Glen Foerd, beautiful location on the Delaware River, interesting house to tour. Too bad they don't have the same number of or quality of fun events like years ago, like the Easter brunch, or special teas or Valentine's day luncheons, etc. My husband and friends always enjoyed these, but now schedule looks like only occasional dances. Oh, well, things change. Catering was always good though and they do a lovely job on weddings!

Yelp
I recently went to a dinner event here and the grounds and building are absolutely beautiful. Food is only available through event planning or group tours, but this estate on the Delaware is worth the trip for a tour or one of the events that are planned including a regatta. The web page doesn't really do this place justice. "Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the mansion has an art gallery, pipe organ, elaborate stained glass skylights, and a rathskeller. " Please note there is valet parking only.

Yelp
This is a beautiful historic mansion on the Delaware River in the Torresdale section of Northeast Philadelphia. It is the last of the old Mansion's in Philadelphia. The neighbors care deeply about keeping it out of the hands of delevoplers. If you ever have an opportunity to go to an event there, jump at it. Or just call about a free tour. I go every year to the Chriskindle Market, it is so much fun. Chck it out for yourself.

Yelp
I am planning my wedding at the Glen Foerd Mansion in May of next year. I fell in love with the grounds from the first time I visited the mansion during my extensive tour of wedding venues. The outdoor area for wedding ceremonies is one of kind, located directly on the river. I was speechless when I saw the mansion's grand entrance, amazing pipe organ in the wall, stained glass, art gallery.... - and I hadn't seen the best part! Wedding receptions are held in the attached conservatory which is breathtaking!! It has panoramic view of the DE River, completely climate controlled and has a beautiful dance floor. The team at Conroy Catering is top notch and the food is amazing!! Highly recommend this venue for your wedding!

Yelp
My sister was married here and the venue to so lovely as historical. With views of the water from the mansion, it is a romantics dream to die for. I remember the scallop and bacon appetizer was amazing as you received a jumbo scallop. The steak was great a well!

Lance C.

Yelp
Very expensive and confusion... The mansion won't answer any questions, but refers you to a catering company that fails to respond to emails. ..
