Glenmorangie House (Tain, Scottish Highlands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For all their other charms the country house hotels of the Scottish Highlands are not necessarily known for their vibrant colors. Glenmorangie House, however, is the exception. Its interiors are the work of designer Russell Sage, whose sensibility is maximalist and theatrical; the result is true to the setting, while the palette is anything but sober. Each room is different, and all are thoroughly luxurious. Meanwhile dinner is served at a communal table, and makes fine use of local Highlands produce and ingredients; nor is the product of the Glenmorangie distillery in any way overlooked." - Tablet Hotels

This charming, stylish, and exquisite hotel was everything we were hoping for! What a wonderful experience upon arrival to the glorious room (we were given the "Home" room with an incredible view of the Sea) to the canapés and drinks before dinner with the other guests to dinner with the guests......just WOW. Also the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. The weather was good to us and we walked the tree lined path down to the beach........we will be back soon Glenmorangie House!

Absolutely unforgettable — even better than we expected (and our expectations were high)! Glenmorangie House is a dream. The setting alone is breathtaking — surrounded by the sea, golden barley fields, and a rugged beach (not your typical tanning spot, but stunning all the same). Then there's the house itself: beautifully designed, thoughtful, and welcoming. Each room has a unique connection to Glenmorangie whisky, adding character and meaning to your stay. You truly feel cared for and at peace. The bedrooms are individually styled, incredibly cozy, and feature luxurious bedding that will have you sleeping like a baby. The food — both dinner and breakfast — is excellent. Everything is sourced locally and prepared with care and love. And the staff? Simply incredible. Authentic, professional, warm, and attentive without being overbearing. No snobbishness here — just genuine hospitality that makes you feel right at home. Our advice: book it, go all in, and try everything. You won’t regret it!

I can not say enough great things about Glen Morangine house and the absolutely amazing staff. The location is devine. The food is amazing. The thoughtfulness of the staff is heart warming. From the beautiful gift for our wedding to coming in early to see us off to catch our plane, we can't wait to come back and visit again.

Would be hard to find a better place to stay, in the world, if your looking for a relaxing, romantic small hotel. Every detail, every meal was perfectly designed. No surprise at the owners are LMVH, one of the worlds great luxury brand companies. We appreciated the warmth and attentiveness of the staff.

I stopped in on a recent day trip and was met with a very warm welcome. Host couldn't have been nicer and I had the opportunity to learn about the history of the house and view the beautiful interior design of the hotel - all based on the whisky making process. Glenmorangie was my first experience of whisky when I started drinking whisky and it was wonderful to make the connection to its home in the Highlands.

I so want to give 5 stars, but I cannot. I loved the house, the grounds and the food. My room was perfect, the dinner was outstanding, and the chef was amazing and friendly. The views from the house were unreal! I would go back, but Im not sure anyone else in my group would. I personally selected 3 rooms inside the house for myself and 2 other couples with the dinner and breakfast package, but when I arrived (a bit early) I was warmly greeted by a staff member who didn't have record of 2 of my 3 rooms. I had paper receipt documentation which I showed her. She said, don't worry, we have room..but 2 rooms were out in the cottages. This wasn't immediately an issue until we realized they lock all of the doors to the house (and you dont get a key)and so I was unable to congregate with my friends after dark, which was very disappointing. The staff seemed to be sparse, albeit friendly. We saw people (non guests) come into the house and ask for drinks and they were waited on promptly, but then staff disappeared. We had to wander around the house looking for someone to show us to our rooms and explain the house protocol for dinner, etc. Pre-dinner canapes and whisky pairing started at 7 = 2 canapes and you may purchase a drink or a whisky. We were asked to pick a wine for the table and then charged by the glass for it at dinner. I know it appears I'm being cheap, but the website promises whisky pairings and tastings, along with dinner and after dinner and this just isn't the case. I felt like I was bothering the staff to ask for a drink or a taste, and then it was added to my room. I believe the potential for perfect 5 stars is here. A story teller at night with the post dinner tea would be so fitting. Some type of Highland feel with a fire in the fireplace. Someone to explain the protocol at arrival and show me the immediate grounds would have been appropriate. I felt like they dropped the ball in a few areas. All that said, my room and my stay were still glorious, and it was a highlight of my trip to northern Scotland.

Very beautiful setting with water views. The gardens are lovely. The service was very weird and disorganized . No one explained if there was a bar or where we should go to get drinks. We asked for cigars which they keep onsite, never got any. The breakfast was served by a child who didn’t know how to make coffee, take an order for the kitchen or check on guests to see how they were doing. There was a whole room with a breakfast buffet that he didn’t even tell anyone about, not a single person(out of the six guests staying) at breakfast even knew this was there. Very strange way to treat guests. There apparently is a house manager, but she wasn’t available, this very young man said he was in charge. I feel bad for the employees if there is a house manager they need to step up and train their staff. We felt like we were wondering around an abandoned house and property with no guidance.

"Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi during your visit! And a very happy birthday to everyone celebrating their special day today. We wish you a truly great one!"The quest for truly captivating entertainment had grown increasingly challenging, yet a particular buzz surrounding a new series had piqued our collective interest. Our decision to dedicate our evening to it wasn't impulsive; it was the culmination of several factors. Firstly, the tantalizing premise hinted at a narrative depth rarely seen, promising a departure from the usual predictable fare. Secondly, the overwhelmingly positive critical reception and unprecedented audience scores had painted a picture of something truly revolutionary. Thirdly, and most definitively, we collectively concluded that this show promised to transcend the often formulaic offerings saturating the current market, setting itself apart as a benchmark of storytelling excellence. Indeed, from the opening scene to the final, breathtaking moments, it not only met but spectacularly exceeded our soaring expectations. Every element converged – the masterfully woven plot, the exquisitely developed characters
