On the Grid : Global Cheese

"Of the several cheese boutiques that distinguish Kensington Market from other neighbourhoods, the newly-renovated Global Cheese is the best. Clean and organized, shopping here is a serene experience with a huge variety of quality cheese around the perimeter of the main counter. You’ll also be invited to try before you buy, which will help you build the perfect cheese plate for you and your guests." - Charles Lim aka Ched

Best stable prices and varieties of cheese deli olives pasta and more. Manny jason emma are most helpful to suit your needs. The ends of deli and cheese are numerous on budget. The turkey and salami selection is quad A in quality. Never understaffed and always friendly. Sampling is offered depending on your needs. If you ask nicely they do have the most nutritious and delicious unpasteurized cheeses just for you. A little cheese on everything goes a long way. You can freeze the hard cheeses and they all taste fresh even weeks after buying it. I have been going there for 2 decades. I tried other places with drier quality of soft cheese and deli not as tasty with slight disappointment. Worth bringing a passenger to prevent a parking ticket as stopping is allowed if parking is unavailable. The customers are upbeat and never bitter. If one has issues with this store they should give this place another chance. Other stores use too much bleach on their floors. This place is super clean and the glass is so clear its invisible every time i have been. Great place... staff groove with confidence... everything on display is picture perfect. Best of all no bait and switch with prices. .. Unlike other places period.

This is an amazing shop at Kensington Market! Not only they have a unique selection of fromage, they also carry hard-to-get items such as British clotted cream! With flavor!!! Reasonable prices considering the exotic goods. This shop is a must-visit.

Visited Kensington market years ago and this was our favorite shop. Had to stop again while passing through and it didn’t disappoint. The gentleman helping us was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Ended up leaving with more cheese than we needed, but it’s worth it!

We recently hosted a joint birthday celebration at a friend’s home in Oakville, honoring several milestones. With over 50 guests, the day was full of joy and great food! I wasn’t sure what kind of cheese selection would work best for a group that size, but Rosemarie at Global Cheese was incredibly helpful. She guided us through a range of options and helped us put together a beautiful charcuterie board that looked amazing and tasted even better. The cheeses paired perfectly with our snacks, sweets, and bubbly. Guests kept going back for more and asking where the cheese was from. Truly added a touch of elegance to the celebration. I really appreciated Rosemarie’s time, care, and honest recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Global Cheese if you’re hosting an event or simply want something special for your table.

I was looking for a very peculiar kind of cheese from Sicily called Primosale. We started our day at St-Lawrence and none of the cheese vendors knew even what it was. I went to Global Cheese and they knew exactly what I was looking for and I was able to complete my recipe. Bottom line : they have a huge selection AND they are knowledgeable about cheese. Beyond cheddar. We will be back at Global Cheese every time we will stop in Toronto now, that is how we became fans of the store.

Incredible, have been coming since I was a child with my mom, and love to see the expansion! It is a staple, always make a play for the Macedonian Feta!

I normally go to St. Lawrence Market to buy my cheeses and other deli products but since Global Cheese is closer to me, I decided to try them. The cheese prices are nowhere displayed so when you want something you have to ask for them. Price wise some of the cheese is a little bit cheaper (sometimes $1 less per 100g) than St. Lawrence. You would think that you're saving money but when you're finally paying at the counter you will be taken aback because of how expensive it was but also wondering why the hell it looks smaller than it seems. I know they weigh them but who knows what's happening behind the counter coz you don't get to see the final weight of the cheese. The St. Andre cheese I bought also doesn't taste fresh at all. I guess I'm back to buying cheese from my fave St. Lawrence cheesemonger.
