Google
I got a seafood quesadilla. The food was okay, but I was very startled at how they can reuse the garnished lime! I ordered Matador and Gloria's Margarita. They took lime garnish from Matador glass. I have NEVER seen a bar reusing a garnish from the previous glass. Thanks for letting me enjoy a mixed cocktail with Matador and Gloria's Margarita. Very professional.

Google
Green salsa is top tier. Al Pastor was on another level, lots of slow stewed onions. Everything was seasoned perfectly, with tender-griddles tortillas despite the restaurant being completely full. Masa for their tamales and sopes was perfect. I’m impressed Gloria. Girlfriend and I have been questing for the best Mexican around. I think we found it.

Google
Gloria’s is a gem! The enchiladas verdes were packed with flavor and had just the right amount of heat. The burritos are huge and delicious—definitely come hungry! Great service and authentic taste. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
One of the best Mexican spots on the west side. Such a cute space. Absolutely love their food but my favorite will always be their gorditas. The staff are kind and the place is quite clean. I usually eat in but have been doing take out recently and the food us just as delicious. Definitely recommend!

Google
Ordered Mexicano Burrito, did not want meat and asked to substitute quacamole, server was confused and said it came with quacamole on it, okay but I wanted more guacamole and would pay extra, what I got was no resemblance to guacamole it looked like it came out of a squeeze bottle, literally disgusting, really if you have a Mexican restaurant and cannot serve real guacamole something is wrong. My husband’s enchiladas were good, but disappointed he couldn’t get a combination of beef and chicken.Margaritas were fair, but bottom line would never go back.

Google
My favorite Mexican restaurant in Madison. Great, fast service. Super friendly staff.

Google
If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, then Gloria’s in Middleton is a great choice. A large menu selection of zesty traditional specialties are featured at Gloria's. They offer a variety of delicious dishes that you may not find at other Mexican restaurants in the area, like; Sopes, Panbazo, Huaraches, and Nachitos. The chips, salsa, and guacamole are fantastic. Cocktails are exceptional and hand-crafted. Tequila selection is top-notch! For me, this restaurant is a personal favorite, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Mexican foodie experience. Enjoy!

Google
Out of Towner's in MSN looking for a.solid Mex dinner and we found it at Gloria's. Greeted promptly and seated quickly. The service and attentiveness of the staff was Five Stars. The food was also fantastic. Very glad we chose to eat here. Usually best to support local family run businesses and we're glad we did! Very fair prices. Clean restaurant.

Yelp
Best Mexican restaurants PERIOD! Most ask of their drinks are made with fresh fruit (try a Paloma). Excellent menu variety. Great tamales. They are a family owned and operated business that treat you like family. They even catered our wedding in Mineral Point, WI, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Cannot recommend them enough!

Yelp
Got to Verona and really wanted a Mexican meal. Sadly this was not good at all!!! Very little flavor!!! Very few menu choices and the service wasn't great. When visiting Madison/Verona I won't be going back
google avatar

Yelp
Great prices! Pretty decent food, got a burrito mexicano and tostada in takeout. The burrito was grilled and came with sauces on the side, good mix of toppings inside as well. The tostada was loaded and hearty!

Yelp
We had lunch at the Sun Prairie location. It's in a strip mall that's not easy to get to. I found the food above average. Weekday lunch. One server. Bar service was slow. We're retired, ordered margaritas. Margaritas were very expensive and just OK.Chips and salsa really good. Ordered tamales to go based on the west side location who has amazing tamales. Av

Yelp
Food was not served hot. When I returned my plate he said that's how they serve the food. The service was slow and the wait staff had some serious attitude. The microwaved my plate . It's a small family type restaurant I can't believe they opened another one

Yelp
6/18 forward to 6/25: ordered the Don 1942 margarita. Watched as they made it right in front of me. Questioned the 1oz pour and when they confirmed it, I gassed at it and said pour me a double then... I was billed $60 for that margarita. Went in today for dinner and they actually gave me the tequila menu. Well $50 of 1942 actually gets you 4oz. When I questioned the same bartender, she smiled and then laughed at me. Thank you for taking advantage of me... This restaurant is dead to me and I'll be filing my complaints to the consumer protection program out here. It may be a good neighbor city, but I've never experienced more shams in my life from private businesses out here. This is one of them. Karma will come around and when it does, I will have long forgotten about your piss poor business model. 6/1 - Had the steak and eggs chilaquiles. Food was delicious, place was clean, and service was prompt. Chips and salsa were meh, salsa was watery and lacked flavor. Although the service was prompt, nobody was friendly. I'd go back though.

Yelp
I dined in here on a week day. I got a seat right away. As per them, they have the best tamales. So I had one, and it was good. I liked both the gorditas and the tostada a lot. Enchiladas and Tostada was really good. Enchiladas mexicanas was my entree. That was good as well. I also went for a horcheta, which was decent. Prices were reasonable.

Yelp
Clean restaurant, service was super friendly! It was slow midday so our food arrived on time and hot. Flavors were good, which salsa was thicker and more spicy.

Yelp
We visited this place for an early dinner on a weekday and it was fairly busy, but we were seated right away. The place has a nice, casual vibe and it's a great place for individuals, families and groups. I started with my favorite drink, Michelada and I was not disappointed. It's difficult to find a good tasting michelada, but they did a good job. I was glad to see that they had an entire section for vegetarian items on the menu. I tried their two vegetarian tacos and I really liked them both. I liked the different toppings on both tacos and the flavors. However, they were a bit smaller than I expected. I would love to go back here and try more items on their menu!

Yelp
this place constantly is meesing up orders. they do not understand english and are unwilling to accommodate when they mess up orders. DONT ORDER AT THIS LOCATION!!!!!

Yelp
I wanted to love this place and find good authentic Mexican food. I think their tacos are very good (carne asada on corn). Some of their other offerings (eg gorditas) are more ehhh. Which is fine. I would gladly come just for tacos. So it's like a 3.8 for food, but two things make me round down to call it a 2. First, I don't like that they don't give free soda refills - I think that's lame. Second, ordered a flan to go which was was literally 8 days old and they served it. On the plus side they quickly took it back and removed it from the bill, but from a quality control perspective. Holy hell, makes you wonder what else is going on. I emailed them on the issue and never heard back, so I'd have qualms about returning.

Yelp
Excelente lugar para comer y pasar un rato agradable con familia y amigos muy buen sazón

Yelp
Good service, the food is fine, the prices are okay, the location is small and unremarkable aesthetically. More seasoning, more careful preparation, better balance of toppings (my burrito was wet and bland overall, but the ingredients are fresh) would go a long way. We all came out saying it was okay, but it felt like a wasted opportunity to go somewhere good, somewhere more fun, somewhere with more flavor and more ambiance. If your work is ordering from here, you're not gonna be mad, but you can do better for your dinner of choice. (Even as far as Mexican food goes, in the fifteen minutes between Old Sauk and Park Street there are too many options to choose from!)

Yelp
I ordered pick-up through Yelp and it was a smooth process. The food turned out really well. Enchiladas were so delicious I highly recommend it. I was pleasantly surprised because it's Madison. I'm from TX and it's hard to find decent Tacos and rice that remind me of home sweet home. The restaurant itself was smaller than I expected and there is a bar. Parking is limited around dinner time because they are competing with 3-4 other establishments. Carpool! Food was perfect. Not too salty and the flavors were there. I recommend mole because not a lot of restaurants offer this.

David W.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch today at the Sun Prairie location and it was fantastic! Upon arrival was promptly served a basket of tortilla chips and fresh made salsa! I ordered a mitchelada to drink. It was spicy but not overpowering. Very smooth. For lunch ordered the chimichang accompanied by rice, beans and salad. Everything was perfect. Will definitely return. Can easily see why they won Best of Madison.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican we've had yet in Madison! There's a depth and dimension to these dishes I haven't experienced anywhere else. Off the bat? Get a tamale -- hot damn, they're good! I love a Jamaica drink with my chicken molé, and my partner has decided he needs to work his way through all the campechano dishes on the menu before he can pick a favorite. This place is crowded in the evenings, but they still do a great job of getting the food out quickly. The servers are lovely! If you'd rather come at a quieter time, we've found Sunday afternoons to be easiest for parking.

Yelp
Visiting my Mom, we decided to go Mexican tonight. She had never tried Gloria's so it was an adventure for both of us. Not yet being comfortable dining in, I called in an order for take out. We decided to share a burrito con salsa mole and enchiladas verdes. Our order was ready for pick up very quickly. When I arrived, there were quite a few folks dining inside. The space is brightly decorated with colorful murals on the walls and the family members were busy serving. Once home, we split the two selections and added a few slices of avocado as an accent. Both the burrito and the enchiladas were excellent. The mole and the salsa verde were super flavorful with a slight kick of spice. Portions were generous and prices were good. We were both very impressed. Muy bien!

Yelp
Food was ok. Nothing too notable. My sons meal was the best of the three. He had the fajita quesadilla; would eat that again. Enchiladas Rojas were odd. Uncooked cheese and mostly raw onion. Not much flavor. In fairness, I've had worse, but have definitely had better. Service was great and the ambiance was good.

Susan C.

Yelp
Our latest experience at Gloria's was just mediocre. Watery Chile con queso was inedible. Bland but predictable enchiladas. We've had better.
google avatar

Joanna T.

Yelp
Chips -- stale and awful. Salsa --watery and just bad. Gloria's margarita -- watered down but okay. Mixed fajitas were flavorful and very good. Steak and shrimp was good. This is our third time here and I have wanted to love it but won't be back. If they could work on chip and margarita quality I would be back but both were just terrible and it has been hard to avoid the overall meal because of this but I hope it improves. Won't be back until I hear otherwise from others

Yelp
Yummmmm. Gloria's never disappoints. It is one my favorite Mexican restaurants in Madison. The margaritas are always refreshing and the food is always delicious. We decided to switch up our regular orders are tried their birria tacos and YUMMM. The tacos were so flavorful and juicy. My fiancé and I had to fight over them. The birria tacos are only served on friday nights but we'll worth it. I then tried the shrimp dish pictured and wow also so so delicious. It was on the spicier side, but I love spicy. Not to mention it was a huge portion! Gloria's will always be our go to for a good meal :)

Yelp
Gloria's is a great, cozy spot with a variety of margaritas and wonderful food options. I've been here a few times now, the first time I just went to grab a drink while I waited for some food to go. I sat at the bar and drank my margaritas, they were delicious! I just get the plain old house lime margarita, nothing fancy, and it is always delicious. I'm often hesitant to get a frozen margarita at a lot of places, because usually the bottom 25% of it is mostly flavorless ice... not here! The frozen was good till the last sip! I've also had their margaritas non-frozen, equally delightful. Every time I come I have ordered some variation of enchiladas - I always try to branch out but I just can't help sticking to what I love! I've had meat-less enchiladas and their chicken enchiladas, and consistently never leave any of it left on the plate. Whether I sit at the bar or get a table, the staff is always very kind and attentive. There is a large parking lot off of Junction Road, and while it can get a bit packed during rush hour, I've consistently been able to find a place to park. I would definitely check Gloria's out next time you're in need of a Mexican food fix.

Yelp
It's expensive and has a small eating area that smells of disinfectant. There isn't any ambiance. The service is just ok not friendly nor unfriendly
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
Authentic food, great service. Parking is out back and seating is fairly limited. bar service is available. Make sure to check out the margaritas
google avatar

Yelp
I'm so lucky to live near this restaurant! The atmosphere, hospitality, the employees, the drinks and food are just truly amazing! I could never get tired of stopping in for a drink at the bar or for a sit down meal. if you haven't visited, do so! You'll be glad you did! Plus...they serve the best Piña Coladas

Shantell E.

Yelp
great service, and making sure that we are satisfied with our order. and the margaritas are really good! The workers are really nice, complimented me on my makeup and it went a long way because it's my first time doing my own make up and I'm practicing. Helped me with my self esteem on continuing doing my makeup.

Jazmin C.

Yelp
The best Mexican food I've found since moving here last September. The only downside is their delivery hours are bit weird, but when you get the delivery time right or eat inside, it's delicious and a great atmosphere.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Great food, service, and ambiance at this restaurant. Loved my enchilada and margarita!

Yelp
FINALLY! I have found a mex joint in this town that has a molcajete that meets my high expectations! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. All the food we ordered was a great value . The salsa was delicious as well, but wasn't a huge fan of their chips - too thick, but that's just personal preference. We will definitely be back! And on a Thursday when margs are 1/2 off (and you can order by the pitcher)!

Mortis S.

Yelp
Love the jalapeño margaritas. Friendly staff. Great food and quick service. Always a great stop for lunch or dinner

Mark F.

Yelp
was not impressed super expensive for what you get and the birra tacos were way different than any other place I have had them wouldn't recommend this place if your wanting to try new place pass this place up
google avatar

Dot K.

Yelp
Consistently delicious food and friendly service. The queso is addictive. I hope margaritas to go stay- such a treat!
google avatar

Giselle A.

Yelp
Service is fine, the food is the reason for the rating. The chips are like the cheapest possible chips available on the market. I'm Mexican and I would not call this food Mexican.

Jim M.

Yelp
Ordered chicken enchiladas for take out. Called to ask specifically if they used white meat chicken. They said yes. Enchiladas were made with dark meat chicken. Threw them away as I do not like dark meat chicken. Also described as made with cheese. Also did not. Is there anywhere in Madison that serves good Texmex?

Yelp
9:29 Friday Early? Or late? Hard to decide. Cubs and Milwaukee. Don't have the Chanel. Is this an important game? That what was in the tv as I awaited my order. chilaquiles. It was delicious. As were the tacos I ordered. Fresh tasting and well presented. Fresh cut cilantro was the real clincher I think. Since I ordered for take out this mattered perhaps more since plating wasn't exactly my first image of what's to come. I love Mexican food. This place seems to care more than another place I recently tried who failed to even use cilantro or lime in anything anywhere on their menu.

Nancy J.

Yelp
I went in to pick up an order. They wouldn't even acknowledge me standing there. Kept taking people's orders ahead of me that spoke spanish. I won't be back..... this happened both times I was there.
google avatar

Joel D.

Yelp
Excellent! Small family owned Mexican restaurant. Service was great and the food was fresh and hot. You could tell they use high quality ingredients. We had tacos and burritos both were among the best I've had.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Food was good. Portions are small at least the tacos were. They were the size of street tacos. Drinks expensive and small. Need more staff working

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
BIRRIA tacos were not as expected. Greasy looking/tasting with no vegetables--just the beef and cheese with a little green. The fajita salad had no lettuce! Server didn't seem to understand English and had a hard time explaining items on the menu. She thought we said no lettuce in salad. Didn't ask us to clarify. No diet Sprite or tonic. This was a Sunday night and we were told they had run out of stuff. We won't go back.

Yelp
Ever since coming to Madison, I have wished, wished, and wished that some good, authentic Mexican food would come on the west side. Yes, there are a couple places that are around, but, those places just barely hit the spot. I was THRILLED to see Gloria's open up and was even more excited to try it. The restaurant is a small, cozy, and simple atmosphere. There is a full bar with seating. I was instructed to sit wherever I'd like. Even though there was just one waitress, service was overall quick and polite. The drinks menu includes a combination of beers, wines, and cocktails. I didnt expect so many options considering the size of the restaurant. To sweeten the deal, many of the cocktails were classic combinations with no premade mixers. I enjoyed a luxury margaritia, which was a classic margarita with some agava nectar, using top shelf liquors. Perfecty mixed and served with salt on the rim. Chips and salsa will come to the table without request. Food is fresh made to order - an issue that I identified in many Mexican restaurants in Madison. I ordered the Carne Asada a la Tampiquena. In otherwords, skirt steak with an enchilada. It also came with a little chorizo, rice, beans, guacomple, and pico do gallo. All flavors were spot on and the food was served out. The verde sauce on the enchilada was bold and accurate. The flavors and quality were on point. The only consistent issue I've identified is that they have flan only half of the time that I come. If you are looking for good, authentic, top quality Mexican food on the west side of Madison, look no further.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant in Madison!! Gloria and her staff are excellent!! Family owned and operated they make sure you are satisfied!! I had the steak haurache and strawberry margaritas!! It was better than expected! Great service great environment! I will be coming back!

Yelp
Good! The salsa was thin and great flavor. Guac had chunks but was oddly thin but still good. The tostada ceviche was fantastic. The chicken enchiladas had great flavor. Mole was good, not my favorite but didn't have an odd flavor or too sweet.

Yelp
OK, people, I think you have to use your imagination with Gloria's. Maybe it's because I just saw one of Quentin Tarantino's favorite movies, the 1959 Howard Hawks 'Rio Bravo' (John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ward Bond...lots of spectacular cowboys, but I digress), at the local AMC last night. Did that exploration of inner turmoil and a shoot out in a dusty Texas town lead me to Gloria's? I have no other explanation. On the west side (I'm a loyal east sider) for a number of errands, I pull into this strip with a choice, a bit of turmoil: Indian, burger, or Gloria's. I take my chances on Gloria's. It's a beautiful May day; it feels like a cantina. Really. No big parties, just small tables, some local working folk sitting outside in the sun. I expect to hear a rattlesnake, the whirr of spurs. But anyway, the food is really pretty good. They get you your salsa and chips right away, take your order, and then there's your veggie gordita. Thick tortilla pillowy soft and filled with flavorful mix of tomatoes, beans, greens, veggies. It was just enough for lunch. When someone else is driving, I'll return for a Margarita. There's a sweet little bar that seats maybe 4. Just keep your eye on the door - John Wayne and a cowboy or two may lay claim to the vibe. Tab = $3.59, left a $5.00 on the table.

Yelp
As a native Texan, I take Tex-Mex, Cali-Mex, and other Mexican food very serious. We started with the queso fundido, and it was good - but not a lot of it. I thought the bowl (lava?) was a cool touch. I had the enchiladas verdes, and it was a great looking dish. Unfortunately, it just didn't have much "flavor"... no spice, no kick, not even really creamy. As I said, it's okay - but I'd find a different restaurant next time.
google avatar

Ericka B.

Yelp
Went here and had a new item on the menu, the ceviche tostada. It was packed with plenty of seafood, my one complaint was that there was a lot of mayo spread on the base. I guess I should have known to ask about that. It wasn't to my taste preference, but I'm sure others would like it.

Kelly R.

Yelp
Gloria's has some of the best Mexican food in Madison. It's refreshingly local and authentic, something that can be hard to find in the West Madison/Middleton area. My boyfriend and I order something different every time and have always been impressed. Plus the drinks are delicious!
google avatar

Brianna R.

Yelp
Gloria's was the the perfect place to satisfy my Tex-Mex craving! I ordered the enchiladas three ways and all three sauces were delicious. Their beans were creamy and so good with the rice. I didn't leave a drop on the plate!
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing extraordinary about this place, but I also can't find much to complain about. I love the location, and the food is pretty good. To start, the restaurant is clean and colorful. Very nice atmosphere. Not a cushy sit-down-and-stay-for-2-hour type of place, but comfortable and welcoming. The staff was super friendly and genuinely cared that we had a good experience. The food was good. I ordered a beef burrito with mole. They forgot the mole, but that was okay - they brought some out for us. The mole had a nice spice to it. Not "hot", but a good smolder of flavor to it. The burrito was a nice portion and had good flavor. The lady next to us had a chicken burrito with the chicken gravy sauce - it looked excellent. The chips and salsa were decent. Prices were reasonable. You could go with a combo plate for more, or go a la carte and get exactly what you want. Ever since Pedro's lost their west side location we've been trying to find an adequate substitute for our Mexican cravings. This may be the spot. I look forward to trying more of Gloria's menu to see what items really stand out above the rest!

Yelp
Before the pandemic we ordered carry out probably twice a month. Since then, we have ordered several times, and frankly have been a bit disappointed. We really used to love that place. We fully understand that in today's environment the cost of food is quite a burden these days but when you order a chicken burrito, there should be some chicken in it. This is not a one off. This happens several times now, just minuscule little chunks that you actually have to look for to verify. We really don't wish to tell others how to run their business, but speaking only for myself, I would be willing to pay more for the product that we used to get. And I have no clue what they did to the guacamole recipe. That is also not the same. Very disappointing.
