Up until about 3 weeks ago, I had never heard of a place called Glory Days Grill. Virginia has always been a second home to me and despite coming home on an annual basis, I had never eaten at Glory Days. However, that was all about to change during Spring Break!
Glory Days Grill is a small chain of restaurants found along the east coast and in the south. When I think of Glory Days, I instantly reflect upon the patriotic nature of the country. With a strong support of the military and first responders, this restaurant is a place that will make you feel at home.
The interior in the two locations was pretty similar. The main dining room has booths along the outer portion of the restaurant and stand alone tables in the center of the room. Also, there's one big private dining room that is reserved for parties. Americana decor is displayed throughout the entire restaurant. The music that you hear as you dine is all
American: country, rock, and soul.
The menu consists of all American dishes such as burgers, steaks, chicken, fries, and so on. They had some pizza specials with different toppings, if you want to consume something that's a little more different from a standard pizza.
I tend to order the same thing wherever I go: fish, shrimp, or vegetarian food. I made sure that my shrimp was seasoned with old bay! The jasmine rice was ok and included some green onions mixed within. I like to keep it simple!
All in all, this place was pretty good! It's ideal for a quick meal on the go or if you want to enjoy a meal while watching sports or cartoons on many of the TVs that are mounted on each wall. The atmosphere is great as well. If you want to hang out at the bar and enjoy a couple of drinks, this is also the place for you. It's just a great restaurant to bring your family out to enjoy a meal while avoiding larger crowds in the big city.
