"This family-owned Polish establishment in Livonia features all of the classic fillings of prune, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, lemon, custard, chocolate, and apple cinnamon. The bakery is serving them every day through Fat Tuesday and delivery options are available through Grubhub." - Courtney Burk

Google
Super yummy authentic Polish bakery that's worth going a little out of your way for. The only bakery in town that has Rye Bread with seeds. They will slice it thick or thin. it was Fat Tuesday, so time for the Pazcki (pronounced Punch-key). $28 for a dozen of the fattest, most overfilled, stickiest donuts on Earth. (2/2024 update: $30 a dozen) Oddly, my Polish neighbor says there is no Pazcki Day in Poland. Might just be a Detroit thing, but I'm not complaining. Recommend.

Google
The customer service was terrible. The older lady behind the counter was very unfriendly and acted like it was a complete inconvenience to her to make lattes for us. We were so excited to try a new (to us) bakery and interacting with her didn’t set a good tone. I wish I could say the items we got made it worthwhile, but that would be a lie. The coffee wasn’t good and neither were the baked goods. There was a cute little outside area to sit in, which was nice. I’m sure after reading other reviews, the owner will surely clap back and attack me saying I’m a fake customer or something. Not true. Sometimes folks don’t like feedback 🤷🏻

I am absolutely appalled and in shock with my customer service experience ordering a birthday cake. I called and spoke to Timothy. I began to place my order and provided him with my card information for purchase. He then let me know that the cake decorator was out of town and wasn't sure if the cake would be ready for the end of the week. I then told Timothy , I greatly appreciated his time, but with so many circumstances I would not be proceeding with my order and would have to go elsewhere. He then just hung up on me and still proceeded to charge my card. I was shocked and emailed him that night trying to correct the situation. I never got an email back and when I called the bakery Tim answered and was hostile and yelled at me! Telling me to calm down. All I wanted was a refund for a cake that I didn't order in the first place. Tim did nothing ,but escalate the situation and offered no assistance. I am calling my bank and proceeding with better business bureau and police report. This was unacceptable. ***Edit**** As everyone can see TIM is unprofessional and clearly willing to ruin the reputation of this business ....now name calling me as a Karen??? I will upload my 4 phone calls that I called with..I wouldn't of called 4 times if Tim didn't drop the call! Tim did email me now after having to make a post publicly displaying his unethical business practices.

Ordered a cake last minute and thought the price was high for an 8-inch round cake, but for $45 I had hoped for a fresh, moist cake with homemade frosting. The cake was dry and flavorless and the frosting was hard and greasy tasting. While I appreciate their ability to do a birthday cake last minute, I paid $45 to have everyone eat one bite and throw it away. This is not the same Paris Bakery it once was, so disappointing.

I really wanted some delicious paczki and didn't want to drive to Hamtramck. I found this place online. I meet a wonderful woman waiting in line. She answered my questions about GM Paris Bakery. She was on point. I will never drive to Hamtramck again. They were fresh and delicious 😋. It was worth the wait. One is missing in the picture because I ate it b4 I took the picture. I couldn't wait. Lol

Google
My nieces 16th bday was ruined by them. The cake looked horrible and their claim was if it was a smaller cake it would of looked better. What they tried to pass off as a cake was ridiculous and would not refund. A local bakery ended doing a replacement cake for my nieces party within an hour and it looked fabulous. First pic is what we asked for, second pic is what Paris bakery made and 3 pic is replacement cake made by another local bakery since Paris wouldn’t do anything to fix the problem.

Google
The new owner is very, very, nice. He's back in the kitchen making tasty treats for all. They now have a coffee bar with seating for groups to gather. I think he might like it to be a hotspot for young adults. He offers free Wi-Fi. The pastries are amazing!! He even has Greek items such as spinach cheese pie, and other Greek pastries. He's also still making amazing wedding cakes, birthday cakes, etc for larger parties. This place has been here for years, and as I can tell, it will be a historical site for Livonia.

Google
Most of my paczki had very little filling and one had none at all

Theresa D.

Yelp
Amazing desserts including packzi during Lent. Service is top notch. Family owned and friendly. The moment you walk in the place the incredible aroma of freshness takes your breath away!

Lacey K.

Yelp
I would give zero if I could. Cake was horrifying, they wouldn't do anything to fix the situation or give a refund. Customer service was horrible and rude. Will NEVER be back or recommend to anyone.

Hassan C.

Yelp
One of my close friends recommended this place, and I was excited to check it out. The location was definitely in an unusual area, but nevertheless, it's the food and customer service that matters. I was greeted very respectfully when I walked in, and immediately fell in love with the decor that surrounded the interior of the store. It smelled amazing inside. I got a fruity pebble and a raspberry filled donut. I wanted to love the donuts so badly, but they turned out stale. However, the customer service from the cashier was amazing, and she was very sweet. I might come back to give it another try, but I'm pretty disappointed.

Sarah R.

Yelp
Just because someone told you your cakes look great doesn't mean you should open a bakery. These are NOT professionally decorated! I'm married to a retired cake instructor. Friend bought a birthday cake. They DID NOT nail it!! No apologies, no help and so rude! Went to another bakery and they made her a cake in an hour. Long time customer but I'm done. They could have easily had a bit of customer service and corrected this.

Patty H.

Yelp
Horrible customer service! Cake looked like it fell on the floor or a toddler made it! Never giving them our business again!

Jen

Yelp
Stopped in this morning to grab some some donuts for the kids-first time visiting-both kids said these were the best donuts they have had! Will definitely be going back!

Kevin R.

Yelp
People aren,t the most friendly especially the owner. Seems like their hours are all over the map from day to day. Taste was good and reasonably priced

Maria C.

Yelp
The WORST birthday cake I have ever had! I wish I could give it ZERO stars. We used to get all of our birthday cakes from this bakery when my kids were younger. They were so good before! We hadn't gotten anything from here in years because we moved. I was so excited when my husband told me he ordered me a cake from Paris Bakery for my birthday but... what a huge disappointment! It was awful. Worse than crappy grocery store cake. It was ugly. The frosting was disgusting. It was supposed to be buttercream but tasted like chemicals. My husband paid $51 for a 9 inch layer cake that was inedible. I called and spoke with the "manager" "Tim" and asked for a refund. He was RUDE and said he had to talk to the decorator and then hung up on me. DO NOT ORDER A CAKE FROM THIS PLACE. You will be sorry.

Anthony B.

Yelp
Someone brought in paczki's to work on fat Tuesday 2023, they were excellent! Lots of filling in them, would definitely come back here!

Annette J.

Yelp
Still my go to spot for Pączki Day! Came in yesterday afternoon with a list of flavors for my family and a dream. A dream of fried carb bombs. And my dream came true. I left with 3 boxes, all warm and delicious! They've renovated the interior since I had been there last and it looks great. New chalkboard menus, upgraded paneling on the walls, etc. It looks sharp! Also, this year they put out samples of new menu items for folks to try as they waited in line for their pączki and I tried several, including a tasty spinach pie and bougatsa, a tasty phyllo dough pastry filled with a sweet custard and dusted with cinnamon and sugar. They put it out warm and it was SO good. Traditionally this has been a Polish bakery but my tastebuds and I welcome these Greek additions with open arms. I'll definitely be back again for that bougatsa! They've also started serving espresso and have several varieties of breads, coffee cakes, and of course special occasion cakes.

Vancey P.

Yelp
I thought I'd eaten the best donut already but today I realized those weren't it. I had a raspberry filled donut and a cup of coffee and yes, it was the best donut that I've ever eaten. So good that I've scheduled to eat there bimonthly. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Customer service was friendly and helpful!

Theresa D.

Yelp
Amazing baked goods and excellent customer service! The paczkis are delicious and made fresh. Ambiance is a sweet smell of delicious pastries and breads to consider for purchase.

Lateefah K.

Yelp
Thee Carmel cookie was what I wanted to try. It was $2.50 I thought that was a bit much, but it was worth every bit of it. But the peanut butter cookie was to die for. i went back they were closed can't wait to get back. Best peanut butter cookies in the world

Megan H.

Yelp
Sweet small little business! I saw them selling at the farmers market at the Wilson's barn in Livonia on Saturday mornings and they have such yummy breads like the onion roll and oatmeal raisin cookies! The same gentlemen was selling the items and told me about their business nearby. Loved them!!

Paul W.

Yelp
I had no idea I was so close to a Polish bakery. I'm from Hamtramck, where they were everywhere growing up. Imagine my happy surprise finding one nearby that sells all manner of delicious goods! I bought cheese onion buns, cinnamon roll, vegetable bread ring, pumpkin spiral and Bougatsa! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bougatsa 1. Cheese onion buns - 5/5 Absolutely killer flavor, great for sandwiches. Did I eat 6 buns in the same day? No, I ate 2, and then 4 the next day. 2. Cinnamon roll - 4/5 A little heavy and greasy, which can happen with the overly buttered cinnamon roll. Still delicious but oily. 3. Vegetable bread ring - 4/5 The veggies and bread were tasty but surprisingly a little bitter. That's not against the roll itself but I couldn't finish it. 4. Pumpkin spiral - 5/5 Stellar flavor, texture, the whole shebang. Amazingly delicious. 5. Bougatsa - 5/5 Incredible. Phyllo dough, filled with Bavarian cream, covered in powdered sugar and cinnamon. Incredible. I am definitely coming back, especially because Shelly promised there would be blueberry compote, strawberry/mint and apple/peach donuts coming!

Katie A.

Yelp
Love their poppy seed coffee cake, paczki, borek/spinach pie. I miss the (very) old days when they had old fashioned cookies, but they still have great options for breakfast and a snack.

Andrea T.

Yelp
Picked up bread for Christmas. Excellent variety, great value, wonderful staff. Donuts looked really good...maybe next time.

Jonathon T.

Yelp
Amazing donuts and coffee. The owner is also a really nice guy.

Andrea F.

Yelp
I'll give it to this place, they've got some solid paczki. However, I've been going here for years and I can now say this with confidence: For the love of Pete--If you know custard is one of the most popular flavors, make enough ahead of time so you aren't rushing batches. Or at least do a little quality control. I'm sick of waiting 45 minutes in line and having to wait even longer for a fresh batch of custard filled, only to get home and they're RAW in the middle. I've never had this problem with any of the other flavors. They've all been cooked perfectly. I look forward to the day when I don't have to throw all of my custard paczki in the garbage.

Jan D.

Yelp
I went there today to see if they could make a specialty cake for me. I was immediately greeted by a nice woman. She called a lady from the back to answer my question about a cake. Unfortunately, they are not making specialty cakes at this time however, she took the time to recommend another bakery and even looked it up online to show me pictures of the competitors cakes! How nice was that! Well, I had to get a donut since she helped me and wow, that was fantastic. I definitely will be returning there! Thanks for your help ladies.

Lillian M.

Yelp
I ordered a dozen cakes for a bridal shower and they were simply stunning and delicious! Each cake was perfect and tasted fantastic! Shelley at the front counter is so pleasant as well as patient she was amazing to work with! I highly recommend this bakery!!

MaryLou D.

Yelp
Stopped in here the other day just because I know it is a long time Livonia business. I had to wonder if my mother ever came in here during my childhood. The name ring a bell but there was also a Paris Bakery in the town they retired in in the 70s so I don't know which I might have been remembering. I had read some Yelp reviews so I had an idea of what I might like to try. I ended up getting the Paczki, a box of Chrusciki/Angel Wings, plus an apple cider donut and an apple fritter since they are long-time favorites. No, I didn't plan on eating them all in one sitting. I figured I could spread them out over the next week in my motel room. I've already eaten both cider donuts and the Paczki and the angel wings. All were delicious. The lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful. She even threw in an extra donut for me. Nice. I guess I'll have to add this to my regular spots to visit whenever I'm in town.

Mark S.

Yelp
The quality of product is wonderful! The line for paczki was long and the prices were pricey and that wasn't a problem. The problem was, even though they requested orders be written out, not one of the three half dozens were filled properly. Receiving plum instead of custard was very disappointing.

Shelby S.

Yelp
This was my first time going to this bakery. I saw a awesome cake made from this bakery which made me want to try them out! I ordered a farm animal cake for my sons 2nd birthday. I was Alittle hesitant after the owner called me to tell me the cake decorator couldn't do what I originally asked for, with me being short on time and not many places open due to corona I stuck with them giving them the benefit of the doubt. The owner was sure I would be happy!! I picked up my cake today and was speechless.. although the owner was super nice and tried to make sure I was happy, I'm just not! Horrible writing, cracked frosting/cake and simply just not cute. I won't be back

Liz T.

Yelp
I stopped in to get my paczki craving fulfilled and was so greatly suprised at how they updated bakery since i had been there last WOW!!!! Vey nice indeed all of their items are delicious !!! I try not to go to often toooo tempting LOL But will be back on Fat Tuesday for more !!! Love this bakery !!!

Liz W.

Yelp
Decently good bakery, some things are really delicious. It's never particularly well stocked with all products but it does the trick in a pinch, besides I always stop in after lunch at Hope's so by then they are probably picked over a bit.. I am resentful that they no longer carry my fave cookies from my youth, the large round sugar cookies dotted with unmelted chocolate chips right on top. I ask but nope they won't do them. Why? What? Lame. The other cookies are decent but none compare. They carry kolachy though and I have a soft spot for kolachy. At any rate the cakes are nothing fancy but they taste good. I like the strawberry shortcake one the best. They also have decent boston cream pie. The sweet dough coffee cakes are generally tasty, I particularly like the sour cream ones. The pound cakes are all very good, I am partial to the zucchini and banana nut. I have stopped in here a couple of years for paczki when I could not trek to Hamtramck and they worked. I am a custard, strawberry or raspberry fan and these are tasty versions of those three varieties. They sell em all year but they are of course more deluxe and hideous for you on paczki day itself. The rest of the donuts are merely ok. The refrigerator cases hold decent pierogi from Polish Harvest in Hamtramck, including my must have farmer's cheese variety. They aren't cheap but they taste nice so I usually pick some up and make them for the always happy to see pierogi on his plate James. The staff is never all that friendly in my opinion. They do their jobs well enough but it would not hurt to crack a smile or be more helpful. All in all definitely worth a stop but they could be better if they would be a bit more flexible for customers.

Craig J.

Yelp
My family has been coming here for our orders of Paczki every year for at least 15 years. We have had raving reviews from everyone we gave them too. This year they clearly cheapened the recipe and they were terrible. We ordered about 2 dozen raspberry glazed. First off the glaze barely covered the donuts, a clear sign they were more worried about speed than quality. Second the filling went from a real fruit filling with even seeds to a bright red mess that tasted like your average store bought fruit snack filling. The dough was noticeably duller too and lacked real flavor. We recently heard they are under new management which is very disappointing since it seems they do not care about quality anymore. We thought we would always have this great spot for Pazcki every Fat Tuesday but now we have to search for someplace new.

Mike W.

Yelp
We have been going here for years. The raspberry filling is the same as it has been for years (a few seeds and tastes like raspberry). A jelly donut is just that not a jam donut. They were not greasy (that is because the oil was hot). So let Craig J. go somewhere else and leave more for the rest of us.

Laura S.

Yelp
Paris Bakery created a beautiful cake for my son's confirmation. We had planned to get the cake from a different bakery, but those plans fell through at the last minute. When I called Paris Bakery to explain my predicament, they accpted my cake order without hesitation. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and really went the extra mile to make a beautiful cake for our celebration. Not only was the cake made on time and beautifully decorated, but it was very moist and delicious as well! We received so many compliments on my son's confirmation cake! One of my friends said, "we now know where or order all our cakes from now on." The Paris Bakery is owned and operated by wonderfully kind people. They were definitely our heros in regards to our cake predicament. If you need to order a cake, I would highly recommend them. We will definitely be repeat customers! :) Thank you Paris Bakery!!!

Jenny J.

Yelp
The amazing aroma of freshly made paczki was quite the tease while waiting in line! I arrived at Paris Bakery early on Fat Tuesday to get paczki's for everyone at work. The line was huge, but that was a great sign of the goodness awaiting inside. They had a gentleman playing polka songs on his keyboard inside to keep smiles on everyone's faces as they waited. The staff was all hard at work from restocking, cleaning, taking orders and ringing up the register. The paczki verdict? Melt in your mouth softness, gooey and sweet! (Most likely artery clogging too...) Who cares! Fat Tuesday is THE day to be a sinful eater!

Amanda C K.

Yelp
I was fortunate enough to run into this place at the Livonia Farmer's Market. I tried a cherry chip poundcake that was wonderfully sweet, with lots of cherry flavor, and a tasty crumb top. I had "one more piece" several times on Saturday until it retired on my counter top 75% lighter at 1am. Look forward to going back!

Phil S.

Yelp
We've been getting my sons cakes here since his 1st birthday and absolutely love it here ...only problem is his birthday is usually around Fat Tuesday which makes it tough to get his cake done, but we usually make it happen.....they do great art on the cakes and they taste the best around.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Great packs. Yummy filled coomies as well. Haven't tried anything else yet. Will be coming again.

Stephen H.

Yelp
A Polish Bakery in Livonia, you say? Yes! It's been there for decades. Basic, no frills Bakery that specializes in wonderfully soft loaves of bread, and paczki. The lines are long on Shrove Tuesday so get there early. Custard, raspberry and lemon are the best. Lots of sugary goodness that melts in your mouth and they are ginormous!

Lynsey S.

Yelp
The cake is amazing! I worked with this shop for my wedding cakes and WOW, they really blew me away! I can honestly say that I do not recall ever tasting a more delicious wedding cake in my life. I kept my cakes simple, flavor wise. I had one 2-tiered cake for display, which was white cake and vanilla butter cream, and two wedding style sheet cakes, one marble with chocolate butter cream and the other chocolate cake with cherry butter cream. I received rave reviews from all of my guests on every flavor! And also on the appearance of the cutting cake. It was really beautiful. The price was low and the quality very high! Thanks again Paris Bakery!!!

D M.

Yelp
I stopped by this bakery on Friday on my home from work and bought a cake for $30.00 and cookies for $7.00 for a family get together. The cake had mold on the bottom of it. And the cookies were stale. I was mortified when my sister told this. How embarrassing. I wish she would have told before she throw out the cake and cookies. I would have taken both items back and asked for a refund.

Don K.

Yelp
We picked up our cake on Friday on our way to the birthday party. After being disappointed originally at not being able to get a 1/4 sheet cake that is exactly what we received yesterday. I'm guessing that instead of a reply on Yelp worked in a positive way as the 1/4 sheet was accompanied by a personal letter stating what they did. I'm impressed and thank you for doing the right thing!

marlene c.

Yelp
They are making paczki's already. I saw them sold at a party store in Plymouth on Sunday Feb 27, 2011. This bakery has the best paczkis because they add loads of filling in them.

R P.

Yelp
Bakeries are suppose to offer fresh items not old ones. Pretty pathetic for being a bakery. They are ripping off people as well, by selling Paczki for $19.00 a dozen. IF YOU ARE SMART, DO NOT EVER GO TO G.M. Paris Bakery on Joy Rd. in Livonia, Michigan. This place is a DISGRACE!

Sandra D.

Yelp
Been going to this bakery from orginal owners family in SW Detroit, Michigan Mcgraw Area as a child. Even though they have changed owners the quality of bread is the same, their pastries and sweet bread are delicious. Make IT a point to check out this place YOU WILL BE BACK FOR MORE! EASTER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.

Terri B.

Yelp
Because the bakery I used to go to, Old Fashioned, on Warren is now closed, I decided to go here. I have been here on Fat Tuesday and the paczki were great. I came on a Monday expecting a nice FRESH selection.I found: Pre- packaged chrusciki, I'll try them. they had some donuts in the case, and a bunch just sitting in open paper bags. 2 kinds of cookies, some cake packaged up 2 pieces to a box. Some stuff marked down , and some cream puffs and eclairs, in the cooler. I got the container of chocolate cake, and 2 eclairs. Not much of a choice. $18.49, for a pound of chrusciki, 2 pieces of cake, and 2 eclairs. Not cheap, but what the hell. Poor decision, nothing was fresh, chrusciki hard and stale, not light and fresh like angel wings, hence the name., The choux on the eclairs was tough and tasted like lard, the filling was stiff, dried on the edges and tasted sour, the cake, dry and stale. Definitely not fresh and not from that week. NEVER again. Even my son who will eat anything, commented on the poor quality. Buyer beware. I'll stick with Cantoros or Holiday Market, I know their stuff is fresh, and prices are the same.

Jerry M.

Yelp
Planned a cake for a wedding, the color was off and the flavor was wrong (wanted strawberry lemonade, got chocolate).

Susan P.

Yelp
Awesome bakery! We decided to stop in our way home & were not disappointed! Great friendly service. Good prices & fresh baked goods. We will definitely go back & share our wonderful experience with our friends & family!

Donna T.

Yelp
The paczki's are just amazing!! The aroma hits you as soon as you get out of the car! I got mine on Monday to avoid the lines on Tuesday. I will be back to this bakery often!!

Stephanie E.

Yelp
I ordered my daughter's graduation cake from Paris Bakery because I'd heard such good reviews from others. Boy were those people ever right! The cake was a photo cake and the decorator did a fantastic job making it look very pretty and "girly". My daughter & I had selected two flavors, cherry chip & plain white and they both tasted fantastic. I literally had people lined up to get a taste of the cake before I even cut it and the entire sheet cake was gone in less than 2 hours with barely any crumbs left. It was SO GOOD! Thanks Paris Bakery!! I'll definitely be coming to you for any future cakes!

Alvin C.

Yelp
I just read about G M PARIS BAKERY and looked at their website and decided to wait till a DAY AFTER FAT TUESDAY to avoid the anticipated crowds.....I would not be able to eat a lot of those things but wanted to show my wife the difference between these Paczki's and those at Kroger......I bought a Raspberry and got my wife the Custard Paczki..... we both ate 1/2 and will have the other 1/2 later on..........they are very good and they have a generous amount of filling. Was worth the 8 mile drive.

Liam R.

Yelp
The bakery is not what it used to be. I have been a faithful customer for over 11 years and was turned away today on a cake order for my sons 1st birthday because they are too busy the weekend that I needed it. You have forever lost my business!

Kelly I.

Yelp
This is an abosultey outrageously priced bakery! Costum kids birthday cakes are the highest prices I have seen anywhere! Shop around before you order here. WARNING: photos of costum cakes in their album are much smaller than in person. You pay the big bucks for a small cake! I will try Kroger next time. I'm certain to get a good tasting cake for a fraction of the price that Paris Bakery charges.

Diane D.

Yelp
I am an out of town bride and I set up a phone consultation for a wedding cake. I was having a patriotic wedding and l loved the cake withe the American flag draped over it. The cake design was a surprise for my Air Force husband-to-be. I gave the baker the criteria and told her to use that and gave her some artistic flexibility. On the day of the wedding, I couldn't have been more disappointed. I found a white cake with some ivory scrolls and a blue, red and blue rose on it. Not the patriotic cake that I had invisioned. Perhaps I shouldn't have had such high expectations considering I did this over the phone, 600 miles away and hoped for the best. Too bad a wedding is a one shot deal with no chance for a do-over.
