Great atmosphere. Inviting and easy to enjoy. The beer is fantastic every time we come. The merch is also great and pretty reasonably priced. It's a must stop whenever we're in town.

Visited for the first time last night for the podcast event. Wasnt too crowded and there was a man working that did his best to get everyone a chair. The strawberry beer was SO good. We walked across the street and ordered some food. The nachos were seriously some of the best I've ever eaten. Onion rings were fried to perfection. The bartenders and kitchen staff were very friendly and efficient. The music was awesome. Was it a dirty dancing sountrack?!? Whatever it was, my friend and I loved singing along! I drove an hour to get there and will for sure make that trip again in the future.

Update: still an awesome place. Great beers and now with food across the street! Highly recommend stopping any chance you get. Original: Cool place with a nice vibe. Super friendly service and a good selection of interesting beers. I particularly like the hazy/New England IPAs. Note the taproom area is wide open to the manufacturing area but this is pretty typical for craft beer places. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through the Hammond area. Next time I will spend more time and check out the beer garden that I missed.

Enjoyed this brewery. The brewery side had nice merch for sale, some NA drink options, snacks and a good beer choice. I went with a couple flights and then some single drinks. across the street is a large seating area and restaurant. I had a burger and fries and they were yummy. They have some games on site to play...corn hole, Trouble, Sorry, etc. We enjoyed using it as a kid was with us. The only disappointment was the band canceled. I was hoping to check out some local musicians. I plan to visit again. They even had Easter bunny photos for kids. They were very expensive but still was neat.

Haven’t seen a truck driver review here it is. If you are delivering you can either park across the street in the empty parking lot or at the pilot which is 1.9 miles away. You will have to back in no unloading docks but these guys get the job done fast I have no complaints and they do it with no doc and move fast. Would deliver here anytime.

Google
One of our favorite breweries. Their Korova Porter with peanut butter is one of my favorite beers! They only can it in the fall/ winter and when they do I buy as much as I can to last me until the next fall. My husband has tried hundreds of IPAs and Jucifer remains his favorite! They have added an outside covered area with picnic tables. The taproom is big and nice but it does not have a/c so if you go in the summer heat be prepared to sweat, however, they do have large fans that help. We love that they allow dogs in the taproom. They also have food trucks on the weekend. The last time we were there we ate at Fat Jose's Taco truck.

One of the best places in this town and surrounding areas you can get a great beer with awesome decor. Love this place, one of the standout places I went to on my 7 day trip to Florida.

Google
Off broadway Ghost In the Machine- Jucifer (6.0) and Double Jucifer (8.2). Support the competition contenders so when "Big Beer" destroys Parish Brewery via acquisition (if/when) there will be viable options still standing!!! The offerings that I sampled here were outstanding. Much better than Abita (by two alligator tails and a mile!)

Yelp
Great beer and atmosphere! Dine Gnar across the street has excellent food, too! Always a good selection of new beers to go with their flagship choices.

Yelp
This place is so cool. One side of the street is food and yard games, like cornhole. The other side is the actual brewery. They had merch, live band and a variety of gnarly barley brews. I'm not a huge beer drinker but I love the vibe of breweries and the togetherness that most of them provide. Since I'm not big on beer I always take the recommendation of person assisting me. She suggested something light and mixed it with a sparkling flavored water. She also allowed me to taste a couple before deciding. I wish I could remember the name of it. All I know is that it was refreshing.

Yelp
This must be one of my favorite breweries visited to day. Ample parking, huge and super cool vibed facilities (bet you never had skateboarding "streamed" in a restroom before!),uber friendly staff, lovely selection of beers. Food options (pub grub) across the street. IPAs are juicy and potent, but boy are they good. Interior looks very skateboard fan oriented. Overall, thumbs up!

Yelp
Outstanding brewery! Have been here several times now and always have an excellent time! The new addition across the street is amazing. You are able to order food, there's a huge yard for games, lots of tables and a space in the back that is enclosed. In an unpopular opinion, I am not an IPA fan, but there are so many other beers that are truly outstanding. I am most looking forward to the new test sour beer, margarita. I will be buying a few six packs once that hits the shelves! Definitely check this place out, it is family friendly, group friendly or just by yourself the bartenders are so friendly! Had an outstanding time and always love going back!

Yelp
Was excited to try dine gnar and extremely surprised how horrible the chicken sandwich was...got a side of nachos...straight out of sams uck!

Yelp
I've always enjoyed the beer here but finally made it to the tap room and glad I did. Fun environment with TVs, colorful murals, wonderful staff, great looking merch and tastee brews. Was worth the drive from New Orleans.

Yelp
Wonderful vibe happening in the bayou Cool down and enjoy yourself Service is very friendly, helpful and inviting Delicious beers at really good prices fresh as they come. Lovely the merch selection- I would definitely return frequently if I were able to!!

Yelp
Always the best experience at gnarly barley! Feels like you are amongst old friends, great beer, great atmosphere, and the NICEST STAFF. Food trucks Friday-Sunday, good bands there almost every weekend. Watch their Instagram for new releases!

Yelp
This was written during the covid-19 pandemic. Longtime gnarly barley beer drinking and first time visitor. Unfortunately all I got to do was do a beer pick up. Online ordering was super easy, and since I was Trekking out to Hammond I decided to buy at least three six packs (while I was there I grabbed ever more beers and a crowler). I made the trip for their s'mores imperial pasty stout So far, I haven't had a bad beer from Gnarly Barley and they are quickly becoming my favorite Louisiana brewery because they haven't disappointed me! For those that do not want to drive immediately back home, there is a picnic area that you can try some of your beers. Just make sure you don't drink and drive!

Yelp
I mean its a first class yummy ass southern brewery. Jucifer comes from here. Korova Milk Porter comes from here. Catahoula... on and on and on. Pre covid, it was a huge blast here on the weekends. Now, like everywhere else, its take it outside son. They have amazing limited releases or tap room only brews. Worth the drive. Call ahead or check the website for their hours. They have been known to be closed on a obvious drinking day doing work stuff.

Yelp
Great group of people that make make great beer. Always improving as well and that hard in the craft beer world today. Well worth the visit if you are passing rear this area.

Aaron J.

Yelp
Weird crowd nice place good beer. I'm not from here and probably won't be back. But I'd come back if I was ever in the area again.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Definitely the second best of two breweries in Hammond. There were many beers to try, but most had no flavor compared to their posted flavor profiles. The jucifer and grapefruit jucifer tasted the same. Strawberry common smelled better than it tasted. Great service. The tasting room had AC, but it couldn't keep up with the open doors. Great live music.

Yelp
Great spot to come chill and grab a few beer. Child and pet friendly. All the bartenders are nice end they're bout to add a kitchen area. Try to make it out here if you're around the area

Kelly R.

Yelp
Awesome brewery! We both had the Jucifer IPA. It was the perfect balance of hops and flavor! They had live music which was a treat. They can a lot of beers here and it's wide open so you can see the brewmaster at work. Cute set up and really friendly people here. Lots of dogs just enjoying the whole vibe. Plenty of merchandise to choose from. I picked up a couple of their stickers. Stop in and grab yourself a beer or flight. Lots to choose from.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, great beer, dog friendly. Prices are reasonable and a great merchandise section. Love the limited releases and that you can buy beer to take home.

Yelp
I was coming back from a business trip and we decided to stop at Gnarly Barley! I have been wanting to go and was excited to finally get here! Unfortunately I didn't realize that it was closed during the week because of their canning production! Fortunately everyone was gracious for us in to go try some of their craft beers and look at their merchandise. We were also greeted by the owner if we had any questions and thanked us coming to visit! Ryan was very helpful and explained to us about the different flavors of their craft beers and the merchandise. I enjoyed the atmosphere because they were jamming to great music while working! Everyone looked happy having a great time while working! I'm so glad they let us come in while they we're working! They are opened on the weekends and are kid and pet friendly! They're special craft beer weekend releases always run out because they are so popular! Because of their great customer service we left purchasing a few items! Definitely will go back back again because of their great hospitality!

Yelp
This place was tons of fun! We happened (no coincidence, well maybe some...) to show up for the Porter Rican release. Really I just looked up their hours when I was there and hey they were releasing not one but two beers. Twist my arm, I am there. They had a band, though we only heard a few songs and they were done and a pretty awesome pizza food truck. But the star of the show was really the beers. I didn't get the feeling much happens around Hammond but Gnarly Barley may be changing that. If you dig their beers you will really like what is flowing locally from their taps. I think it was totally worth the 40+ minute drive from NOLA.

Yelp
Gnarly Barley Brewing is an absolute gem of a brewery. Their beer is delicious. They have consistent new releases, as well as taproom only small batch releases. They offer a great core lineup of beers. The environment is always relaxed, with live music frequently. They offer indoor and outdoor seating areas, with a large parking lot. Staff are extremely personable and will get to know you by name. Stay Gnarly!

Ashley M.

Yelp
Tremendous brewery that offers a wide range of tasty beers in several different styles. The brewery is kid friendly and I promise you will want to bring home beer and merch from this spot!! It is a bit of a drive from Baton Rouge, but well worth the effort for this unique gem just outside of town. Pro tip: follow them on social media to visit during one of their many release parties. There is almost always a band and a very lively atmosphere. Arrive early or bring chairs, brewery games available on their game shelf for added fun!!

Yelp
Gorgeous weather this weekend called for day drinking! Gnarled Barley has the Perfect casual tap room with outdoor seating available and live music on Saturdays! Football on TVs, super choices for beers on tap- this is a must do on a lazy weekend afternoon!

Yelp
Awesome beer made and served by awesome people. I tried the sunny G and it did not disappoint. I will visit again when in the area!

Glen P.

Yelp
What a wonderful brewery. The atmosphere is nice and I wish I had more time to hang there when passing through.

Yelp
I recently got to taste some of their beer during a tour of the brewery. I'm not a big beer guy, but this place had some delicious brews on tap and a chill atmosphere. If you're a local with a favorite spot, I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new... you won't be disappointed!

Janice D.

Yelp
Your visit to to/through Hammond is incomplete without a happy hour at Gnarley Barley. Get a flight or samples and then focus on faves for pints. They had four IPAs! Local and traveler clientele. Tables are nestled near stainless vats so you feel surrounded by friendly company.

Yelp
My husband and I got married in Ponchatoula but wanted to have a small event the day before our wedding so we could spend more time with our guests coming in from out of town and Gnarly Barley was the PERFECT spot for it! My father-in-law spoke with Jarred Smith and set up a tab so all of our guests there that night could just put drinks on it and everything went so smoothly. The drinks were fantastic and as someone who's not usually a beer person, I was so impressed with the options and really felt like there was something perfect for everyone. For people who might not be big into beer, I highly recommend the mango margarita gose, the good seed, and the cherry bounce! They also had a band playing, fans running so everyone could stay cool in the middle of June, and the energy in the place was so relaxed and fun. Great people, great place!

Yelp
When you go to a brewery - your are coming for the beer - probably not literally. This place has super choice beers.... had two peanut butter imperial stout beers and they were seriously smooth! As for the staff - top notch. They knew their beer as well as other great breweries in LA. I'll be back here soon with another pair of serious kicks (a few sneaker heads there).

Tom M.

Yelp
Service really poor. Not enough people. 30+ in line. Should take over 30 minutes to get a beer.
google avatar

Rusty W.

Yelp
One of the top 50 fastest growing breweries in the US. Their beers are always spot on! My favorite of their flagship brews is juicifer a hazy, fruity ipa! At the brewery the serve limited release brews on Friday and Saturday. Their gnarvana is an awesome release. Today their release is bananas foster milk porter - nailed it!
google avatar

George A.

Yelp
Plentiful selections of excellent beers. Good music on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. They usually have a food truck if you're hungry. And the bartenders are friendly
google avatar

Jared L.

Yelp
Great experience visiting the brewery on Saturday, learning from (and drinking with) the brew-master / owner. I'm happy to see the well deserved recognition recently for Jucifer and Lion Up... I would expect this recognition to continue as all their beers find more consumers.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Will always be my favorite beer place. Great atmosphere, kid friendly but also perfect for a date night. Always such great options and new unique beers to try.

Carmen H.

Yelp
Jucifer is the best beer I have ever tasted! This man is a genius! I tried the raspberry catahoula common beer and it was great! Saturday's at the brewery is so much fun! You have to try it out!

Randy W.

Yelp
some of the best beer in South Louisiana .... a must tour and drink...there get together are amazing ...
