Go Get Em Tiger - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"GGET x Louie Capozzoli Long Sleeve, $33 Look at this long sleeve shirt. Tell us that you wouldn’t be the coolest person in the tenth grade if you had been wearing it (and in our case, didn’t have severe acne and braces). You just can’t. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

LA Coffee Shops With Outdoor Seating

"With multiple locations throughout the city, Go Get Em Tiger is definitely in the running for the title of “LA’s Most Well-Known Coffee Chain.” It also doesn’t hurt that their latest Santa Monica outpost has an airy, outdoor seating area. The patio only has a few tables, but pair them with one of GGET’s excellent lattes, sandwiches, or simple and sweet iced coffees, and you’ve got a winning combination, ideal for everything from people-watching to killing some time between Zoom calls to finally penning your “Unnamed Pandemic Horror Screenplay.”" - kat hong

I’ve always driven past Go Get em Tiger but hadn’t stopped there until now. I didn’t realize that you don’t actually go inside, but instead order from a window outside. It was a nice sunny day so I was happy to sit at a table outside on the sidewalk. They said they were featuring coffees from Honduras, so my friend Nate (who’s a “coffee snob” or AKA “knows his coffee”) was very excited. I decided to get an iced almond macadamia latte which was yummy and Nate got some type of drip black coffee or something like that…can you tell I don’t know my coffee? Haha We were so excited when they told us they had some gluten free options. We ordered the overnight oats which were absolutely delicious, and they were about to close and still had a gluten free brownie available so they gave it to us complimentary. It was so delicious and they were so nice, I wanted to cry. Great experience here and I can’t wait to return!

I really like the bean burrito, the tortilla is good, as well as beans, which are vegan, so if you want to have vegan version, just take the cheese off. I did so and I added avocado. It was delicious.

Passed by here on many of my walks and decided to give it a go. Boy does this place need improvement. The cashier lady was not friendly at all and gave off a sense that she was annoyed. After receiving my drinks, I was taken aback by how much space was still left in the cup. When I asked if they could add more milk to the drink, the cashier responded by saying “well when you order light ice that’s what it looks like”. I didn’t know what to say because I didn’t complain but simply asked for a bit more milk! Her response was not only sassy but honestly rude because that’s something you should have disclosed when I first ordered. Overall, given the quality, service and over pricing I highly recommend walking over to a different coffee shop where you will be treated with a bit more kindness and dignity.

Google
Quality and tasty food but expensive prices. Ordered pick-up. It was ready less than 10 minutes. Whipped Feta and Egg Toast is really really good and tasty. Still $16 for a toast is too much. Not sure if I'm gonna order it again.

Andrew Sutton

Google
Good coffee, especially cold brew. Bit annoyed that their Sat hours are incorrect on Google. Said open until 3 but they were closed when we tried to stop by ~2:30. Our crew was looking forward to it!

Omar Zamora-Viera

Google
Quick service even with a line. The shiitake ginger congee was good with all of the topping items, but I feel it relied a tad too much on the toppings and didn’t allow the congee to speak for itself enough.

Google
This is my local coffee spot. I walk down the street every day to come here. I see many of the same people day after day - it’s a neighborhood spot. The coffee is incredible- few places in LA can match their espresso drinks. The food is really good - simple - and it takes a good amount of time, but that’s because it’s freshly made to order - it ain’t fast food. But what makes this place is the service. The crew are awesome. They make me laugh, they’re friendly, they seem to know every single regular by name, know their order and genuinely care about each of us.

I had a delicious latte here and the service was excellent! Very friendly and welcoming staff and delicious coffee!

Yelp
Love me some GGET! Don't overlook the pastries. I constantly crave the almond croissant! The team there is always pleasant and drinks come out quick.

Yelp
I do wish they had a better variety of Matcha on their menu. Service was friendly, but the coffee really wasn't that great either. Unsure why they are so popular, maybe they were having an off day, but I don't feel it was worth returning for.

Yelp
GREAT GUATEMALAN & DELICIOUS SUMMER SQUASH RICE BOWL + SCOTT & SOPHIA I was eager for a double macchiato and Scott asked if there was anything else. I was hungry so I ordered summer squash rice bowl. There was no seating in or out so everything was "to go". My macchiato was perfect "dry" as i requested. The blend was Rich and highly extra ted but with a big not on the finish. I quized Sophia, the barista, as to which varietal it was and she confirmed Guatamalan roasted in-house. I praise it and Scott showed me several other Guatamans they had for pleasure. The food was prepared with health and subtle flavors herbs and presentation. The summer squashes were the green "spaceship" shaped squash, herbs. It was delicious and healthy with quinoa, and avocado, DELICIOUS. CONGENIAL. GREAT COFFEE CHEERY AND INFORMATIVE COGNOSCENTI SOPHIA & SCOTT MAKING THIS SWEET TOO EAT!

Yelp
Loved the coffee and pastry from Go Get 'Em Tiger. 10/10 no notes. I had the signature latte and an almond croissant. Very authentic, flaky, with good almond flavor. Yum!

Yelp
Out of all the Go Get Em Tiger locations, this is one of my favorites for the staff. They're always so friendly and vibrant. Special shout out to Scott, Olly and Hannah who always prepare delicious cortados and recommend great pastries. While it's not an ideal sit-down cafe, it's a good neighborhood spot to grab a cup of coffee and go for a walk with a friend.

Yelp
Go Get 'Em Tiger's Summer Squash Bowl is one of the best takeout lunches I've had this year--packed with veggies, spring mix, avocado, radishes, pickled onions, and their perfectly jammy eggs on a bed of quinoa and brown rice with herbed tahini dressing and chili oil. It might be a seasonal dish because it's not available at all outlets. If you find it, order it! The salad is super clean, fresh, tasty, and big enough for two meals. This beloved coffee shop always hits a home run with its prepared foods.

Yelp
They recently discontinued their breakfast burritos, which were the best breakfast burritos in this area. Replaced it with lots of items covered in herbs. Confusing-- I know many people who only came here for the burritos, myself included. Giving one star in the hopes of being noticed and resurrecting the burrito offering.

Yelp
I have been here before but this morning was troubling. I ordered a Latte and was charged 1 dollar more for half and half. The prices in this city are outrageous and all they are doing is passing there expensive rent to the consumer. 7.25 for a (small) Latte. Not even a sleeve or non sugar sweetener. I will not be back. If you want to have your money exploited go here by all means.

Yelp
This coffee shop is just about 30 seconds walking from my place. I go here despite all the frustrating things about it. I get a small drip coffee, paying $7. But why? It's so insane. But my morning grogginess tells me it's required! It's definitely a weird set up -- a full side coffee shop, yet they don't allow customers inside. You must order at the door and they bring the coffee to you. There are a few uncomfortable tables and benches on the sidewalk. It all feels very much like COVID era, yet we're sort of out of this, no? The avocado toast was spectacular when I first moved here in June 2022. But each time I've gone recently, it's not been as tasty. I'm not sure if the servers have changed? The ingredients? The recipe? But it just isn't as good. I've actually chatted withe others in the neighborhood about it as well, and they feel the same. Yet, I still keep coming back. There is just something convenient about having a corner coffee shop.... Even if I'm paying $7 for a drip coffee. Will I come back? Probably. And sit on all the very uncomfortable seats and order a so so avocado toast for $20! Yep, I'm officially an Angeleno!

Yelp
Breakfast burrito was a solid 7.5 better than expected. Coffee was decent but most importantly service was great!! Will check out other locations

Yelp
The staff was super nice. The coffee had a strong flavor to it, it's an order and pick up place, doesn't have sitting area. Quick service. I enjoyed their seasonal menu.

Yelp
This place used to be great but it's gone so far downhill. The drinks are sloppily made and they changed their baked goods a while back. They used to have the best strawberry and corn muffins but they're all pretty dry, generic pastries now. The storefront looks rundown and always has this lingering smell of trash. I wish they would spend a little more time and effort Fixing this place up, this part of the community could really use a great coffee shop.

Yelp
With 9 locations around LA, I feel like somehow Go Get 'Em Tiger always pops up just when and where I need them. Exactly that happened while I was in West Hollywood yesterday. I parked for a lunch, had an hour to kill and needed coffee. Picked up my trusty yelp app, and GGET was just a block away. It was perfection! This is a small corner shop with no indoor seating. They actually have the inside blocked off and you order at a table by the entrance. They have several tables outside for dining and hanging out. This location actually has a pretty large food menu but I stuck to my 24 hour Cold Brew black coffee. A cool $6.50 even with tip. A really smooth cup of coffee that perfectly gave me the energy boost I needed!
google avatar

Kelsey K.

Yelp
I love this place. Their coffee is the best! I always order the iced latte as well as the burritos. Doesn't disappoint! The staff are always friendly too which goes a long way. :)
google avatar

Guy J.

Yelp
They STILL don't have seating. What kind of non-drive through coffee shop, with a full store/restaurant space, doesn't have seating. The real problem is a small black coffee for $5. True robbery.
google avatar

Justin M.

Yelp
I love their iced almond macadamia milk latte with an add shot. You don't need the additional shot but you need this creamy, iced drink. I recommend ordering about 10 minutes prior to arrival using the app as the line can get long and there's no seating. The staff is friendly and efficient - go get your caffeine here!
google avatar

Tom W.

Yelp
I haven't been enough to knock the food, or coffee, but I'm always surprised to see people sitting outside, right on the sidewalk, next to crazy-busy Santa Monica blvd, with all that car exhaust, honking, heat, and noise. If they had seating on the side street, I'd go. Maybe I'm just describing LA in general???
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
I eat from this place every day because they know how to make a latte and the food is always great!
google avatar

Rocky B.

Yelp
This location seems to be stuck in 2020 as far service. You're not allowed into the shop but instead they have a table set up at their door where you place your order. It's unfortunate because the location is walking distance from my apartment and I love their Iced Oatmilk Lattes and they have the best Avo Toast. But I like going to coffee shops that are welcoming so definitely passing on this location at least until they can pull themselves out of the time warp they seem to be in.
google avatar

Yelp
Street parking No indoor seating, out door only No restroom Quite inconvenient Coffee was ok
google avatar

Nathan P.

Yelp
This is probably the worst coffee shop I've ever been in. Actually, I've never been in it cause they take orders outside their store like a little kid selling lemonade on the street lol. Their coffee doesn't taste that good for the price you pay, you sit out on the street since the inside is closed off, and their pastries are displayed in a cheap plastic box. You could've displayed them in a nice cake display that is a few dollars from Ross or even a thrift store but decided on a donation box?.. Seriously, I felt so embarrassed ordering from here and I ended up going elsewhere to get my coffee fix cause their coffee was that bad. It's quite sad to see such a beautiful space being wasted by selling coffee OUTSIDE of their shop on a little table that looks like it's about to fall apart. How unfortunate that I wanted to support local but this is the type of service you pay for. Go get em tiger?.. more like go get your money back.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
1 star is too high. Super overpriced, menu items all taste bland or similar. I hear management treats its staff like crap too.

Tybo L.

Yelp
$8.50 for a oat milk mocha are you guys insane !!! And then the screen is asking me to leave tips? Absolutely not. Since when it is normal to pay that much for a coffee? Very friendly staff very professional
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
So this is my local coffee shop. I love it. The coffee is great, the food is excellent (although it can take a while) but what brings me back, often twice a day, are the staff. They're funny, friendly, and kind. Swamped with online orders, and a line down the block, they're cool / I can't wait until the city lets them open up inside - great crew, great coffee, real neighborhood place -

Yelp
Finally decided to try out the infamous GGET. Although their merch is cute and they are trying to be trendy, they need some work. We got their Iced almond macadamia latte's and my bf got a bacon, egg, and avocado burrito. I didn't get any food and you will understand why below. The Iced almond macadamia latte's where incredibly blah. It was not very strong and it was almost bitter? I was expecting it to be a tad sweeter but there was no sweetness to this at all. Will not order again. As much as it pains me to say Starbucks is hands down way better. Being a vegan I hunted down the vegan options on the menu. There is a key on the back that has a leaf that indicates vegan. There was overnight oats and avocado toast which I cannot get myself to ever buy because I could make it at home for literally nothing in comparison to spending $14. To my surprise, I saw the leaf next to the quiche (which usually is made with chickpea flour) and I was stoked. When I ordered and asked to ensure it was vegan, the barista told me it was vegetarian.... lol. Vegan and vegetarian diets are different so either they made a mistake on their menu or they don't know the difference. Either way, I was underwhelmed.
google avatar

Nicholas A.

Yelp
As a coffee lover, and a neighbor who frequents this shop, I'm shocked at all the lower ratings. Their oat milk cappuccino is among the best in town (seriously, I've tried them everywhere, and GGET's oat cap is rich and never bitter). I highly recommend the avocado toast as well. For vegans, try the Vegan Strawberry Muffin--it's delish! To those that are complaining that there is nowhere to sit down, that's not what this place is for... it's to grab a great coffee on-the-go. They excel at a good cup of coffee and snacks. What's not to love?
google avatar

Yelp
oy vey. Let's start with the good. Iced Coffee: 5 stars This is really good iced coffee! To be honest, this is really iced espresso which is really good. I was hoping for a cold brew, but I was informed that they don't offer this on the menu. I was reminded how great a proper Iced espresso when done right, could be. I would come back for coffee any day. Egg and cheese sandwich: 1 star I did not finish this sandwich, and that says a lot. The egg and cheese sandwich comes with a type of herb aioli on it which in theory could be good, but it did not translate well. The over-easy egg must be fried in olive oil as the first bite of this sandwich had an overwhelmingly strong taste of olive oil. I was quite surprised to find that the egg was crunchy -not crispy, but crunchy. I've never had crunch eggs before (and I hope I never do again). The second bite revealed that the yolk was not broken on the grill, but rather left intact and quite runny. Normally I wouldn't mind but this was such a surprise given the fact that the white of the egg was so crunchy and overcooked, I was not expecting a runny yolk. The yolk ran all over the place and made a mess everywhere. I do not hold gget accountable for this, but I feel the need to warn my fellow yelpers. overall the texture of the sandwich was off, and instead of having a traditional egg and cheese breakfast flavor, the sandwich had more of an olive oil lunch flavor that overpowered the egg and cheese. Two bites and I was done. Service: 5 star Thomas was very nice and kept the line moving along quite nicely. Like I said, I would come back for coffee anytime, but breakfast? Not so much.
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
GGET has been on my list for a while, and it really held up to my expectations. Very COVID friendly. Currently you cant go inside, but order at the door. They have some outdoor seating too. Their lemon mochi bun was a total score and My husband got their mocha, which was perfectly not too sweet. I'd give 5 stars, but the prices were a little high for my liking. It's a dope place though, definitely worth a try.
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
I loved my visit here! Will be back soon. I tried the iced chai latte and it was delicious. Has a nice spicy flavor! The person who took my order was super nice and they had it out quickly. I can't wait to come back and try breakfast here.
google avatar

Nooshi B.

Yelp
Honestly, this was pretty average. My friend lives nearby and we walked over to grab some coffee on a Friday morning. I had an almond macadamia iced latte. I appreciated the fact that it wasn't sweet at all like most other coffee shops drinks. Service was fine, but as others mentioned they don't have any indoor seating or restroom. They have a handful of tables outside which is nice, but with prices being on the higher side I wasn't too impressed with Go Get Em Tiger.

Jason M.

Yelp
A rip off. OJ came in a togo shot glass cup. Plus no more seating at all. Don't think I'll be coming back.
google avatar

Sophie G.

Yelp
Got a small, drip coffee to go with cream. The cream was clearly curling into my coffee. I brought up my cup and showed the attendant who said "what do you want me to do? We just got this creamer yesterday." I appreciate the refund but walked away with no coffee.... come on ! A $5 drip coffee and they won't open another creamer?
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Well stoped here on my one legged scooter Ani and Thomas were so helpful they gave me some ice for my foot surgery and was so bored being in the house had to try three bacon avocado burrito chill spot thanks for helping me you guys are the best
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
A coffee shop with no honey, plastic straws, and doesn't except cash. Tried Go Get Em Tiger today and was really disappointed that the only sweetener they offer is brown sugar, and seriously nothing else. I'm sure she's had a busy Saturday morning so the cashier wasn't very helpful and forgot one of our banana breads so we had to repurchase. It was acceptable not to take cash when the pandemic started, but now I really urge the owners to consider the consequences of this decision. It is a privileged and a form of class discrimination. I might be able to access a credit card or bank account but many in Los Angeles cannot. It's a slippery slope allowing businesses to not accept cash. I'm sure their employees would appreciate cash tips as well. The banana bread was okay which is why I'm giving 2 stars and won't be returning. Street Parking. Plan to wait for your drinks and to order it's a busier corner.
google avatar

Logan M.

Yelp
New coffee bar on Santa Monica. Love the rad logo on the building. Friendly staff and quick and easy service through their app for touch less payments.
google avatar

L S.

Yelp
Great coffee, quick service (even with a long line), friendly staff, you'll see cute dogs outside, and delicious food! I loved the protein breakfast so much!
google avatar

Cory H.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the coffee looks precious, ordering on their app is precious, and you feel precious purchasing your $6.50 latte along with the others who are doing the same. But the coffee is basic at best. If you ask me, you're paying for the cute lil cup. Kings Road Cafe, this is not.
google avatar

Mai Y.

Yelp
This review has nothing to do with their food and coffee which I think are always great. But the last 3-4 times I have tried going here all around 4:15/4:30 (they close at 5pm) but they are ALWAYS CLOSING DOWN when I get there. If you write that your hours are til 5pm, you should be open til then. If not, just change it to 4:15. Really annoying. Basically don't come here after 4pm because the chances of them being open are very slim.

Hillary H.

Yelp
Love this place. It's part of my weekend routine. Coffee and food are always top notch. Highlights are the protein Brekkie, BLT, and the breakfast sandwich and burrito. Most importantly though the staff is amazing. Always so friendly and kind and really make an effort to get to know their customers. Great neighborhood spot.
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
Not the Tiger you are looking for! I have been going to GGT for years starting with the excellent Larchmont location, and then going to Row DTLA when they expanded their menu and had a moment with their very good burger. Both locations had great food and coffee. Unfortunately, any legacy of those locations did not transfer to the WEHO location. I got the Breakfast Burrito and my partner got the Avocado "toast" this morning at the Weho version of GGT on Santa Monica blvd. The breakfast burrito was terrible, one of the worst I have ever had. They put an odd tomato paste based sauce, that just tasted like tomato paste. There was supposed to be 'crispy potatoes' in the burrito but the crispness came from them being raw and uncooked. It was not edible. The Avocado 'bread' wasn't trying to be anything special, but it also was not toasted, and soggy. Pretty gross. The coffee is good at least, but this kitchen was not ready this morning. If I could give 0 stars I would. I got the order to go or I would have sent it back to the kitchen.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this cute neighborhood coffee shop while in WeHo. I wasn't planning to get coffee at the time, but my bf wanted some so he ordered an iced latte. It looked and tasted so good that I decided I wanted some, too, and ordered an iced latte with oat milk. Nondairy milk options were oat and almond, no soy milk (just fyi, not a big deal as I like all three). The latte was yummy! You can tell the quality is good. I would say it is comparable to La Colombe Coffee's lattes. Service was very friendly! Since that first visit, I pass by it time and time again and there is always a line--That is how you know it is good. I have yet to try their pastries. As far as parking, there is paid meter parking along Santa Monica Blvd., paid metered parking in the neighborhood along N Harbor Ave or, if you are lucky, free parking in the little lot right next to the coffee shop along N Harbor Ave.
google avatar

Ron L.

Yelp
Go Get Em Tiger is on a corner of Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood that offers an array of coffees and some food. Due to Covid, they have blocked off the entrance and you order from a table. I had a nice conversation with the server manning the table about the healthy items on the menu. I ordered the chai tea with a lemon poppyseed cake. The chai was different tasting at first but it grew on me while the lemon poppyseed was very chewy but had a nice flavor. I appreciate independently owned coffee houses and always prefer those to the large chain. The name is what got me to stop in the first place so Go Get Em Go Get Em Tiger.
google avatar

Stuart M.

Yelp
This is place is *Jean-Ralphio voice* the worrrrsssssssst. Like, if one were to look up "pretentious, over-priced coffeeshop run by absolutely incompetent pricks" in the dictionary (or on dictionary.com, i mean it is 2022) they would stumble upon Go Get Em Tiger. I showed up at 7am on the dot and ordered a burrito and a cold brew. I was the first person there. I then sat outside for 30 minutes, watching every other, single person who ordered food after me happily receive their orders. I went up to the mulleted barista (because, of course) after 20 minutes and was assured it would come eventually... Well, 30 minutes after being the first person to put in my order of food, it came. And guess what? The burrito was small and terrible. The cold brew? Not great either. Oh...and how much does a small burrito and a cold brew run you at this place? 19 dollars! What a steal! Please save your money and time and don't ever go to this joke of a cafe. There's so many other incredible options nearby (coffee commissary, blue bottle, etc). I may have to flick off this place every-time I walk by out of principle.

Mariam T.

Yelp
Great coffee and pastries. Staff is always so friendly too! I really like their matcha, iced lattes and cold brew.
google avatar

Blair B.

Yelp
Selling me room temperature fizzy hoppy tea in a can is a big no. I love the little mouthful that comes with a Breezer. But, similarly to other hopped canned beverages, the tea foamed everywhere and tasted amazingly bad. First strike out ever at Go Get Em, so I'll give em a break. Big fan of their beans, especially their limited time fundraiser blends. Staff is kind and pull a consistently great espresso. Just avoid heartbreak and ask if the can of tea is cold, or have them open the can for you.
google avatar

Ariel A.

Yelp
Good coffee, great pastries, fun location, and attentive staff. Only drawback was the huge block of ice they put in my drink. Wasn't able to get my straw in :(

Eiman D.

Yelp
I was hesitant to try this place cause I read a few reviews saying the people working there are rude. I walked by, and decided nah, I'm too tired to deal with rude ppl today. So I just walked away. After walking for a good ten minutes, I found myself still thinking about trying their coffee, so I turned around and decided to go. I get there and I am met with the loveliest person ever, I came on 8/8/2022, at like 12:30, they/he were wearing red shorts. He just says hello to me and something nice about my T-shirt. Then another lovely lady, she was wearing a floral shirt comes to the register, greets me and strikes up a funny conversation with me. So now not only one, but both ppl are sweet. She recommended a delicious drink for me, the brown sugar simple syrup latte. She brought my coffee out to me, and I got to sit down for a bit and enjoy my coffee. Their great customer service left me in a great mood. This lovely experience made me want to frequent this place on a regular now. And I will since I live close by.

Yelp
Such fantastic , kind, and gracious staff. The quality of the coffee is incredible , and while expensive , always well worth it. I order online ahead of time on their mobile app, and it's always ready when I arrive and handled with the utmost COVID-19 safety protocols (gloves, masks, barrier, customers not allowed in the store).
