Go Juu

"Enjoy authentic Japanese cooking in this unique, almost minimalist space featuring a profusion of wood and a sushi bar in the dining room. There’s also an exclusive area for Go Juu’s club members." - Michelin Inspector

Beautifully executed Japanese cuisine with attention to detail. The sashimi was fresh, and the overall quality was consistent across dishes. The atmosphere at the counter was calm and focused, with the chefs working just in front of us — a treat for anyone who enjoys the precision of traditional Japanese dining. It’s on the pricier side, but worth it for a special meal in Lisbon.

We let ourselves get a full menu prepared by the main chef, we were served 5 plates. Highly recommend the medium fat tuna, chutoro sashimi was so good we had it twice. Also recommend, toro tataki, insane tartare.

I feel sad writing another less positive review and I am suspending any mor sushi i Lisbon… another disappointment… Service was very slow… The chef staff were extremely snobby… And then to top it off the sushi was very poor quality for the price point being paid… plus I’ve never ever seen a restaurant with a legal disclaimer about its food…

Each time I go to GoJuu I think that the reason I sometimes experience other Japanese restaurants (and good ones) it's just to remind myself that, in the end, nothing compares to this one. It's really another level of taste, perfection and experience. So simple and yet so profound. A fond memory of the legacy of the Aya back in the 90s that shaped my taste for sushi and other Japanese dishes. 🙏🏻👏🏻

It seems to me that there is a reservation phone number given only to regular (special) customers, It means that it is impossible to reserve a seat unless the manager remembers your face and name. I have not been able to go to this restaurant for several years because of the lack of reservations, but recently I entered the restaurant with an acquaintance and was able to have a meal. I was able to enjoy my meal. The sushi items are as fresh as ever, and the food is not fusion, but rather near-traditional Japanese cuisine. The sushi is naturally delicious, as the sushi chefs are trained by Japanese master( long time ago)

For real sushi lovers, this is a place. Wednesday evening, without reservation, the lovely lady(I think she is the owner) let us sit at the bar. It was fresh and clean.

Lovely authentic japanese restaurant. Reserved seating at sushi bar the night before since they only take reservations on phone. The sashimi selection is fresh though there’s tendon in the toro pieces🥲 The eel is the must-try dish!!!!! It’s freshly grilled and sauced to perfection. The chef gave us a free appetiser to start with and it’s surprisingly good. Definitely the best meal we had in Lisbon😻
