The Best Western Indian Restaurants in London | Eater London

"Enormously popular with the local Goan community, this inexpensive, homely café is run by a family in which the friendly, welcoming husband works front of house, and his wife cooks in the kitchen — with him and his mother chipping in when needed. On Goan feast days, the place is packed with crowds from church service; and when there are no tables available, they eat standing up. Mackerel curry is the most loved dish here (as was pork vindaloo, until they stopped serving it). Among staples such as chorizo bread, ros omelette, and chicken xacuti, there’s also green beef with coriander leaves, tamarind and potatoes that’s not widely available elsewhere. Mixed bhaji — dried white pea stew served alongside spiced potatoes — is basic but has a good flavour, and comes with a warm, hefty pav. Unlike most other Goan restaurants, the dishes on the short menu are resolutely Goan and not generically Indian." - Sejal Sukhadwala

Authentic Goan Food run by a Family business !! Simplicity and authentic food can be really mesmerizing . I ordered the king fish thali today and was really happy to feel the authenticity in taste and warmness by the family who runs the restaurant. Portion size was great , value for money and was worth the travel to this restaurant. Really great seafood options available here . Definitely recommend if you are a seafood lover to get your taste buds and money worth in this restaurant.

Authentic home made Goan food by a family run business. The food is good but the service is a bit slow. Fewer options for beer.

We recently visited Goan Spice Cafe & Restaurant as a family of five, and it was absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. From the moment we called to book a table, the hospitality shown by the lovely owners (a warm and welcoming couple) was truly outstanding. Every dish brought back memories of authentic Goan flavors rich, home-cooked food. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made it the perfect way to unwind after a long day out with kids. We left not only with full and happy stomachs but also with a bag full of delicious takeaways to enjoy back home in Kent. So glad we found this gem! We’re already looking forward to our next visit, to enjoy more comforting Goan food and to see the incredible owners again. Without a doubt I would Highly recommend a visit if you haven't already! 😊

A very authentic Goan cuisine in Wembley. The food was very delicious and tasty. Freshly prepared and served hot. Fish thali, Ross omlet, beef cutlet bread and beef chilli fry was amazing. Surely coming here again. Nice and friendly staff and service.

We literally stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. The croquettes and beef pao were delicious starters, followed by outstanding Goan fish and prawn Thalis. Generous portions, great value, and genuine hospitality – can’t wait to return! Really enjoyed everything about this restaurant.

Had a very bad experience at this place yesterday, never going or recommending any of my family or friends. I ordered 1 Ros omelette (priced £4), 1 plate beef samosas (priced £4), 2 buns (priced £2), 1 masala Chai (price £2). All these prices were shown on thier food menu/ display board. So when I asked to get the bill, the lady who served me said it is £14. I asked her after calculating the price, it should be £12. She was little confused and went inside. She came back and informed me that the extra £2 charged is for 1 bread given on Ross omelette £1 charged extra , 0.50p for preparing the food and 0.50p they charged for the masala chai as it is £2.50, not £2. I have been to many Goan restaurants/cafe in UK and ordered Ross Omelette in the past and bread had always been part of the order, not charged extra. If there is a charge, it's always mentioned in the menu. When I asked her why display board shows £2 for masala chai, she just answered me casually that the prices are not updated on the display board. I was shocked to hear this, as there was no bill/receipt given to me either before the card payment was made or after the payment with all these extra charges. I politely made the payment and walked away, but in my mind I was upset and thought I will never visit this place to eat food again.

If you are looking to try authentic Goan food, look no further. The food is freshly prepared and the flavours transport you instantly to a Goan beach shack. Must try!

My husband and I recently dined at a lovely restaurant, where we enjoyed the King Fish Thali, Prawns Thali, and Pork Hadmas. Each dish was a delightful reminder of home—the King Fish was flaky and perfectly seasoned, while the prawns were fresh and bursting with flavor. The Pork Hadmas was rich and tender, showcasing a wonderful blend of spices. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made our experience even more enjoyable. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, eager to return for more authentic, home-cooked flavors. Highly recommended! 😊
