GoBistro has been around for awhile. They've even expanded down to Wynwood. I first tried them there, but this time around, I went to the original in Hollywood as it was much closer.
Have to say I prefer the Wynwood location. The Hollywood one, in comparison, is tiny and I felt cramped while dining in. Tables were extremely close together and there were a lot less of them than at Wynwood. There are maybe six or seven tables inside with a couple found outside. That night, given the chilly weather, we sat inside and that was after wondering if we could just sit ourselves or we had to be sat. Turns out here you have to be sat unlike the Wynwood location. A bit annoying but whatever.
Fortunately for all these minor grievances, the food is still the same. As in it's consistently delicious. Ordered some edamame and a curry ramen as whenever it's cold I immediately crave some soup to warm the soul (and the limbs - can't forget them!). Happened to have stopped by impromptu during happy hour, which is from Monday-Thursday 3 PM to 7 PM, and actually partook in it for once. Had an Ikezo peach jelly shot and it was smooth and flavorful. I'd have ordered another one, but I know all too well that those fruity drinks are the ones that sneak up on you after.
The edamame was seasoned with salt, and my friend who joined me and didn't bother ordering as he was going to the gym soon after, even snacked on a few of these. He was happy with them or so it seems. Overall, it was a tad surprising given his comment about how edamame were basically just green beans. Shrug.
Adding onto this, the curry ramen came and the broth was sizzling. You could tell that this had just been made. It smelled so potent that even my friend, who is a non-pork eater, said that the meal looked amazing. And well, amazing indeed it was. That curry ramen was specifically what I went to GoBistro in Hollywood for, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Good thing, too, because honestly the size of the restaurant, and the waitress for that matter, were off-putting. Not to ding the waitress here as she did her job, but she just seemed so cold and unfriendly to me. My friend managed to speak to her more than I did, but to me, she simply radiated business in a no-nonsense manner and I didn't like that.
