5 Great Things To Eat On Holloway Road - London - The Infatuation

"The Holloway Road is a big road. 1.9 miles, to be precise. At its top end you’ll find GoBong - an excellent little Korean restaurant. The KFC here is very good. Crisp and moist and, importantly, some’s still on the bone. Heat levels vary though we’d recommend going ‘Inferno’ if you want a proper kick. Homemade kimchi is an excellent bit of crunch to have on that side that’s heavy on tart and tingliness, which is just how we like it. Otherwise, the menu has bibimbap, pajeon (Korean pancake), udon, and other bits too. There’s no lack of good chicken in these parts: Sambal Shiok’s Malaysian fried chicken with peanut sauce is a go-to, and there is, of course, also a Sam’s Chicken outpost, if you’ve got hot wings on your mind." - jake missing

GoBong Korean Restaurant - Review - Archway - London - The Infatuation

"The Holloway Road is a big road—1.9 miles, to be precise. At its top end you’ll find GoBong, an excellent little Korean restaurant. It’s a functional space made homely with frilly curtains, cushions, and a sharing table in the middle. The KFC is very good: crisp and moist and, importantly, some is still on the bone. Heat levels vary, though we’d recommend going ‘Inferno’ if you want a proper kick. Homemade kimchi is an excellent bit of crunch to have on the side that’s heavy on tart and tingliness, which is just how we like it. We’ve been to GoBong a few times now and it’s always a great experience. Quick service, delicious food, and friendly staff. It looks more like a takeaway spot from the outside, but it’s actually great for dining in too. The food is authentic and tasty - the Korean fried chicken is excellent, and we always buy their house-made kimchi to take home. Definitely a local favourite!

A lovely Korean lady serving some of the most authentic, home-cooked Korean food in town! We tried the Korean Fried Chicken, Spicy Pork with rice, Beef Bulgogi with rice, and their delicious homemade kimchi – everything was full of flavour and felt truly homemade.

Mom and pop shop, very good food and lovely vibes. I personally am not the biggest fan of Korean food but this place is definitely worth trying

We popped in here for a bite to eat with a friend. It's more of a takeaway place, but we dined in because it was raining outside. They were very accommodating, made my vegetarian bibimbap without tofu and beansprouts and added a well done fried egg. It tasted delicious. We shared a kimchi pancake which although wasn't presented perfectly, it had a lovely taste. I would definitely go back.

Takeaway counter with a few seats. We had Korean Fried Chicken, seafood soup with rice, and pancake, which was almost too much for two of us. Flavours were great, good prices, recommended!

Popped in during a rainy day after a working in the nearby library, and the tofu stew with seafood was just what I needed to warm me up! A large portion, especially with the rice that came with it, and it was packed with an assortment of seafood - really good value for money. Restaurant is small on the inside with very quick service, a typical small asian restaurant in london. Also had an assortment of korean drinks and bites on the side (various sodas, kimchi etc.). Can’t wait to try more of the menu

Friendly staff and service, it seems to be a business run by a Korean. The boss seems to be a Korean woman, but the employee seems to be Korean-Chinese.. The seasoning is red, but it is not spicy and it is delicious. Seasoned chicken looks like fresh fried chicken. However, there is no music, so it is a little too much to go out and eat alone. And if you want original Korean style tteokbokki, it is not recommended. If you eat in the store, a 10% charge is added.

Beautiful cozy little space, my rice and tofu was delicious. Simple and effective menu with key koran dishes available with animal meat or tofu/veg.
