"Leaning into being a tourist (or playing tourist in your own city for a day) can be extremely entertaining. Such is the case with GoCar's cool take on the common city tour: a talking, GPS-guided go-cart vehicle that takes you around the big—as well as some lesser known—sights of SF. Following the suggested routes laid out for you is simple, as is making an unplanned pit stop for photos, or veering off to do more of your own thing. Each car fits two people (the driver must be at least twenty-one years old, but kids can ride shotgun); small groups and families can reserve a mini fleet of their own. Most departures are from Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf; for a little adventure, you can end by climbing Russian Hill and then screaming down Lombard Street (aka the oft-Instagrammed Crooked Street)."

Google
This was one of the funnest things I have ever done. Truly takes you on an adventure of San Fran! We did the early bird, 3 hour self guided tour and it was worth every penny. The best way to see San Francisco in my opinion. It was such a bonus to have all the history incorporated with the guide. We loved this and can’t recommend enough!!!

Google
One of a kind experience to see San Francisco from a different angle - great support by the on-baord GPS system - great fun to ride - we highly recommend the 3 hours tour (red line) - why? you have the chance to see not just the city center but some outskirts, too - we'll be back for sure

Chris C

Google
First off look for the early bird special which gives you an extra day for free. We took the 3 hour tour we did not waste much time anywhere and got back just in time. This little unit is really easy to drive and the GPS also explains everything plus shows you where you’re going or if you make a mistake, which is really helpful. It also explains your tour as you go of any relevant information. I would highly recommend this tour for the price. It’s a lot of fun.

Google
As someone who has worked in the SF tourism industry and lived in SF for 12 years, I have seen these cars so many times and finally had the chance to do this tour and I HIGHLY recommend it for both visitors and locals. We did our team outing with GoCar tours and had such a blast. We got 2 Classic GoCars and one enclosed ZeroMax (enclosed with heating and AC and CarPlay for those who don’t want to be exposed to the elements) What a fun way to see some of the most beautiful parts of San Francisco. We did the 2 hour Golden Gate Bridge and Lombard loop and the timing was great but I also think it would be fun to rent those for even longer and stop around! Whether you’re short on time or want to do a longer 4 hour tour, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Hope to do this again sometime soon!

Google
We would have not seen all of what we wanted to see if not for GoCar Tours!! We loved it especially because we wanted to see more of San Francisco before we had to go home. We could never had done it on foot!!

Google
AMAZING experience with GoCar Tours in San Francisco! The self-drive tour allowed us to explore the city at our own pace, and the GPS navigation made it easy to follow the route. We saw iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Fisherman's Wharf. The fun music and quirky commentary added to the excitement. Highly recommend! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #GoCarTours #Zeromax #SanFrancisco #SelfDriveTour

This was super fun and affordable and we saw everything!!!! Staff made sure we knew what we were doing and it went great. Inner children unlocked, while totally driving safely.

Yelp
HereThe yellow car was not only extremely loud but also frustratingly outdated. The GPS system didn't work at all, leaving us completely lost until we resorted to using our phone's GPS to figure out where we were. Although we could hear the recorded guide's voice, there were no actual instructions provided, which made navigation impossible. Additionally, the car's monitor didn't allow us to select the destinations we wanted to visit, forcing us to follow a preset route that didn't align with the tour we had hoped for. Ultimately, we had to abandon the car's faulty system altogether, use our phones to navigate back to the drop-off point, and then rely on our own vehicle to visit the places we actually wanted to see. The experience felt outdated, inconvenient, and disappointing. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone seeking a smooth or enjoyable tour.

Yelp
My best friend & I decided to be tourist for a day in the city. We are Bay Area natives and we've been to the city many times. So we decided to put a little twist on this adventure. We went on Go Cars & drove over the Golden Gate Bridge, we stopped to take pictures and stopped in Sausalito for some seafood. We had a blast driving around in the Go Car, people passing would wave at us or take our pictures. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Jose set us up with our car and he explained how to navigate the tour and how to use the car. He even showed us multiple times how to use things and I appreciated that because I was nervous to drive. I got on and began to remember all the things Jose highlighted in his directions and I wasn't nervous anymore. I loved this experience and definitely will book again!

Yelp
What a fun experience to take parents on or anyone without a license! The driver does need one in order to drive any of their vehicles, but it's nice to be able to have a passenger for the ride. This is a self-guided tour, driving their GoCar vehicles. This means that throughout the ride, the tablet on the car will continuously and simultaneously give you directions and a tour of the route you're on. They have two models of GoCars: the regular go cars (up to 30 mph) and the e-sport one (electric - goes up to 80 mph, though I only went up to 45 on the GG bridge). Getting checked in took long but the young male worker that was there was super patient and nice with everyone that came in. Before riding, you have to watch a safety video and then the workers also go over the specifics of the vehicle. I rode on the e-sports model, so I could ride over the GG bridge. There were two main things I was worried about - getting lost and being too cold (this was during May). However, those worries were thankfully dispelled because the tour really babies the directions. It'll mention a sharp turn that's needed or a stop sign way ahead of time. So, I never got lost. My other worry was it would be very cold despite having a front-shield panel blocking the wind from the front. However, I was very relieved to discover the car had seat warmers for both driver and passenger seats, and also handlebar warmers! It was vastly needed as it was very windy throughout most of the ride, but the war made the experience more enjoyable and the wind/cold more bearable. Overall, an incredibly exciting and enjoyable activity albeit expensive!

Yelp
I was trained to drive a car because I even drove people in my car. I haven't driven a car since about 2019 now. Today I was looking for activities on this Sunday March 24, 2024. I found Go Cars on Viator. My father would probably not do this activity or really approve. He might silently smirk and chuckle. If I showed him a photo... It took 1 hour and 35 minutes to take a loop from Beach St near the Wharf all the way to the Presidio near the bridge and under the tunnel and over through...but it's a bit far..It's tiring to drive the "Go Car" around the Presidio..maybe as if it's a scooter at Crissy Field. I parked the Go Car at Sports Basement and wanted new shoes and some gummies. I wonder who would sit in this Go Car with me any day. I am sure who I would sit with...would you let your nephew go out in a Go Car? You have to possess a driver's license and I do believe it is a "car." It has handle brakes and you have to push it backwards to reverse. The control system takes an intro. It's better get support and feel better so that you are safe on the road. I did get honked at twice..I saw 2 Go Cars at a time at the intersections. It's funny! It's unbelievable! It's an experience. I waited a long time to go. You can go any day of the week whether you are a local or a tourist. There's no race track. It goes to the Presidio and Crissy Field..The audio says things like it was an airfield. I am writing a college essay on tourism activities using public transportation. Survey says it involves close family members. I am a tran-sport-tationist. hahah

Yelp
We rented these super fun cars for Memorial Day in San Francisco. Check it was a little chaotic, they needed a few more people help but staff was friendly and helpful. Most importantly they have clean restrooms to use before you head out. You watch a video and then get a hands on tutorial before setting off. Our first car died as soon as and we pulled out, I think the battery was dead but they go us going right away with another one. We selected the three hour tour but honestly it's not enough time to stop more than once or twice. We had to cut our tour short and were still 15 mins late coming back. You need the whole day to get through the traffic of the city and enjoy all the sights. Also bring a cushion for your bum, the seats get a little hard after three hours of putting around. Very friendly staff and fabulous routes preprogrammed into the cars, just book the whole day or prepare to pay late fees.

Yelp
Despite being from the Bay Area I've never actually tried this out before. One weekend my wife and I drove up to SF on date night. We decided on this and we are glad we did! It's advisable to roll with the Classic cars vs the Premium or electric vehicles (these cars don't have side by side seats for couples). Also be wary of traffic as the pre determined routes don't consider this. You should use your own phone GPS and you may have to cut routes short in order to not get additional charges. They will charge for any minute over the agreed time. Finally the cars don't go backwards so just be careful up off route hills. We will do this again to truly feel the vibe of the city while having fun driving these small cars.

Yelp
I'm giving this location 2 stars due to the post experience handling of how they chose to not honor the $80 refund. My wife and I are always in the Bay/Napa area for jazz and business. So this one time we took our cousins and friends. We planned out an array of activities that started in Napa. As we we're at the later part of our getaway. I suggested GoCar Tours. I've seen them every time I was in town. Everyone agreed. So we picked the twilight hours. 3 hours from 2 pm - 5 pm. We arrive, sign in, and look at instructional and safety videos. Then, we proceed to pick our adventure. We chose to do the Golden Gate Bridge Sausalito tour in the faster 2 seater scooter bike vehicle. This vehicle takes on all SF hills. We're told that the GPS will start when you get to the corner. So we're off enjoying the streets and sights of San Francisco scooter style. We get to the picture taking point at the Golden Gate Bridge. Take our pictures and feel excited to cross the bridge scooter style. This is where the problem starts. We proceed while noticing the gps isn't taking over the bridge. So I pull over and call GoCar to confirm which line am I supposed to follow. Okay, confirmed, follow red lines. So we're following red lines, we're going through the park, up a hill with gorgeous homes, cruising the cold coastline, back through the crowded park, and into a neighborhood. We pull over and make the call to GoCar because our time is dwindling. While awaiting information from GoCar. My cousin informs me that his gps is blank. He has no lines. His gps stopped displaying lines after we left Golden Gate Bridge picture stop. So he's just following me. We find out that my gps is on a different route. We're on the city tour. GoCar says my cousin gps was the Sausalito route. We had to do a FaceTime call so GoCar could see the screen. I guess to see if we we're being truthful. So after 25 minutes of trying to get a signal of the new route to just finish with Lombard Street, which was an awesome short experience. I always thought it was longer. So we're back at GoCar. The asian gentleman at the desk said he would give us $40 each credit because our friends did not participate. Plus, he will not charge the $19 each insurance. Cool accountability received, and we're pleased. This was Sunday, April 28. On Friday, I called GoCar because I noticed I had not received my refund . On Friday, May 3rd, I speak to a gentleman, and he takes my number because he's going to get to the bottom of what was promised. He said an outside agency handles refunds, so they would have to send them a message to refund. But, first, allow him to communicate with the person who promised me. He took my number because he's supposed to call me back with information. Now it's Thursday, May 9th. No call from GoCar. My next step is to call again while also reaching out to the BBB for being unprofessional after an admitted error and a suggested return of charge.

Yelp
There was a Columbus Day parade but the people never provided information to us about it. We were not allowed to go back to the store because the police said we couldn't. Another GoCar called them and asked them to pick them up. The people at gocar picked them up and said they would be back for us. They didn't come back though. They left us stranded on the side of the road and we aren't able to return our gocar. This place is terrible and you should NOT go here.

Yelp
I have been wanting to do this for so long and it is not in all locations. We used a Go City Pass so we had to call and make reservations. We called on the day of and we were able to make a reservation. The Go City pass only gives you 30 minutes. If you do 60 minutes it's about $48 more. They make you watch a safety instructional video and then they show you how to drive. The car has a GPS but it is delayed so it is not the best. The paper map is somewhat easy to read. The 30 minute ride will lead you to Lombard Street, but the traffic alone made our experience 60 minutes so we had to pay the additional $48 but it was worth it, because we had so much fun. Other drivers root for you and cheer you on. It can go pretty fast. It is as if you are driving a motorcycle as the car has no pedals.

Yelp
Whenever I have family visiting or friends I highly recommend this excursion in SF. Fun and safe way to explore and just relax. Pro tip: I'd recommend getting a city pass from gocitypass.com it's literally half off for two people for an hour so instead of paying $85 it's about $60-80 for TWO people. Make sure to listen to the video carefully because it's easy to get lost and go over time. Note, they have a GPS screen and audio available where an automated voice talks you through the history of spots you drive by. IMPORTANT: make sure when you return you ask them to walk you through billing/time stamps because every single time I've gone I've almost gotten scammed. They say the clock won't start until you get off the property. Example, I left the lot at 12:01pm I know this because I set an hour timer on my phone and I returned it with a minute to spare. When I asked the worker to check my receipt they said it'll get emailed to me and any additional charges would get added to my card. I mentioned no, I'd like to see my time stamp and when he checked it said I had the car since 11:40am which was actually when I signed the waiver in line. I had to explain to them that the hour shouldn't count for when I check into GoCars. Without debate, he changed it in their system but if I had not asked, I would've gotten charged an additional $50!!!! This also happened the last time I came. I don't mind coming back because I make sure to note it down and take record for myself but they should seriously look into changing their system!!!!

Yelp
Although I've lived in California for years, I'll never turn down an opportunity to be a tourist! This was an amazing activity to learn more about the city in a fun and unique way. Things to note: - The vehicle itself is so fun to drive! - We signed up for a 3-4 hour tour, and although we thought it was enough time, we ended up finishing right before our time was up. - There's lots of places to stop on the route, most picturesque, so make sure you pace yourself. - It is slightly expensive, but you know that when you're booking. It's a unique experience, so I don't mind as much. - The vehicles don't go as fast as normal cars, so it's definitely a little intimidating to be driving alongside the road. At times, we felt guilty that we were slowing down traffic haha. - Parking in the area is terrible, so if you're trying to get to GoCars, I'd recommend any other mode of transportation.

Yelp
Even though we were early, it took forever to get checked in and ready to go. We were already 30 minutes behind our scheduled time when we started. However, my go car broke down. After a few minutes to push it out of the way, try to restart it, I called the number. They had me repeat all the things I had already done, then said a replacement car would be there in 25 minutes. After 35 minutes (and trying to restart again), I called, and now they were 10 minutes out. After another 10 minutes and still no replacement (so now 45 minutes after they said 25 minutes), I was able to restart the go car. I presume it had overheated or something and finally cooled off. However, since we had planned for 3 hours (for the 2 hour tour), and we were now about an hour and a half behind schedule, we just rushed back to return the car and make our afternoon appointments. When we returned, we again had to wait in line to make sure we weren't charged extra for being late, but then wanted a partial refund since we only got to do half the tour and spent most of the time waiting on the side of the road for a replacement that never arrived. All they would offer is more time with the car, which we didn't have and we had cut out the far side of the city anyway, which we wouldn't be able to get back to in the make up time anyhow. Could have been great, but instead was a miserable waste of time and money.

Yelp
A must activity to experience even if you're a local or a tourist. It was so fun and different than riding a car or bus. We enjoyed getting cheers from bystanders as well. Thank you for such a fun experience! P.S. Make sure to book your reservation through the phone or online! They do charge a deposit fee in case something happens to the vehicle but nonetheless, the money comes back to your account once the vehicle has been returned.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, what a wonderful experience! For my gf's bday I got us tix for GoCar tours. For the longest time we've wanted to do this! Whenever we were in the city we kept saying that we should do it but it just never came into fruition until now! I bought a ticket for two, for two hours ($163~ total, including the insurance package). We were running an hour late, so I was nervous that they were really strict (we called ahead to let them know) but luckily when we got there this young gentleman greeted us immediately and told us not to worry (very chilled & relaxed, wish I got his name he was great). We checked in and he explained the map to us and the different routes. We had to do the shortest red route bc they were going to close in a couple hours. No matter, I mainly wanted to see the bridge and go down Lombard street! We then watched a quick tutorial video and then we went to get our helmets. You can spray it w/ Lysol spray, lice spray, and you are given a hairnet. Then you are taken to your buggie and given keys - you can ask an employee to give you a quick refresher on the buttons. Your time starts once you head out into the road. Happy we went on a not so cloudy day, pretty chilly though (mid-Jan) so I suggest you wear a warm sweater! At first it was a little scary but once you get the controls down it's really fun! I am a huge history lover so I liked how the GPS would talk about historical landmarks and the story behind buildings + fun facts. We also went through Chestnut street which we never heard of but we liked all the restaurants we saw so we plan on going there next time. We were driving around the time the sun sets so it was quite beautiful. We drove by the Palace of Fine Arts and through the Presidio (probs my fav places we saw). Highly recommend this if you want to try something new and see the city in a different way. We are thinking about doing this again but with our friends, most likely rent a buggie for 4 hours too. Absolutely loved it! 10/10 :)

Yelp
We got the 3 hour tour from Groupon Through golden state park and drove by tons of beaches, golden gate Bridge (you do NOT cross Golden Gate Bridge *) ++ MORE Ended up being out for 3.5 hours Easy checkin, next time I will rent for the day because it takes you through multiple awesome neighborhoods where you can explore restaurants/ shops/ thrift stores/ park / botanical gardens etc etc ... the park is huge !!!!! Rented 2 cars, you have to have DL We had our 12 and 16 year old with us. No reverse so careful on uturns .

Yelp
My son had the time of his life riding around San Francisco in this Go Kart. I was right behind it and it was soooo much fun! There is an audio GPS that navigates you throughout the city and gives you some history on the buildings you past and the area as well. There is a short tutorial on how to operate the car and the staff make it very convenient for you to sign up and get started on your journey.

Yelp
I always tell people, "if you have only one day in San Francisco, make it a GoCar tour day." I have done a lot of tours around the world, this is hands down the best and coolest tour I have ever done so far. It is an amazing way to explore the city. You just need to follow the friendly audio directions and have fun! I went with a friend and we had a blast. We were able to drive all over the city and the GPS guide tour was great. You can go at your own pace and spend time whatever you want. We booked three hours, but we took five hours. I recommend more than five hours, if it is your first time in the city. You are not going to be concerned with parking because it is easy to find a spot to stop this small and fantastic car. Actually is one of the best things, SF is always hard to find parking or it is expensive. They have 33 points of interests in their map. I know a lot of places in SF, but the guided tour was very cool and took us to places I have never seen before. For example, I haven't been to East Beach, Conservatory of flowers, and Baker Beach. If you never had this experience, I highly recommend this tour. It is just WONDERFUL!

Yelp
Whether it's your first visit to SF or thousandth, this touring activity will be enjoyable! Make sure to book your reservations ahead of time bc it does get busy and if it's anything like today was (understaffed & booked out) you'll want to allow at least 30 mins to complete the check in process. I'd also recommend booking at least 2 hours for your experience to give you the option of stopping/exploring as well as bringing a portable speaker to play your music.

Yelp
While I had a lot of fun on the GoCar tour, there are a few things that keep me from giving the whole experience a 5 out of 5. The people checking you in and the person telling you about the route were not the friendliest. I understand they were probably a little overwhelmed with a lot of people checking in and what not, but good customer service is crucial especially during busy times. As you're checking in you are informed of a $500 deposit hold that's placed on your card if you do not wish to purchase insurance. I realized this deposit was not mentioned until after I booked and got my email confirmation... it was in the fine print that I am sure no one reads. This deposit is not mentioned anywhere on the website, but there is mention of an insurance sale for $26. As a consumer, this is a little deceiving. FYI: The card you use for the deposit, is also the card they will charge if you go over on time. ($1 per minute you go over your tour time.) Once you're checked in, you watch a video to tell you how to use the carts and go over the rules and safety precautions, and when you're done you step outside where an instructor shows you again how to use the cart. The carts are like motorcycles, so you don't have to step on the brakes with your feet. The carts have a full tank of gas and are equipped with a little navigation system that shows and tells you where you are going. Once you start the tour, it's all at your own pace. The navigation system tells you stories as you get to specific points on the tour and it's actually a nice little entertaining as you drive around. The con of the navigation system: It will have ALL routes on it, not just your specific route. Personally, I would have liked the navigation system to have the specific tour we paid for, because it's easy to get lost with so many routes. Especially if you're assigned a specific car when you check in. I also noticed that if you end up on a street that's not on the designated routes, the system will stop talking, so be aware of this little issue that may arise. The tour itself is a fun little experience. You get to drive through various places you normally wouldn't, and you get to park and walk around if you want to spend a little time in a specific area or take pictures if you'd like. I did a 3 hour tour, and I ended up needing more time! =) I would recommend this tour, if you are looking for something fun to do for the day. Just be aware of the deposit, the price you pay if you go over your time, and the fact that the GPS system can get a little confusing since it has all the routes on it.

Yelp
Steer clear from this shady business! The staff will NOT tell you they charge $1 dollar per extra minute and will encourage you to take the Golden Gate tour (which is long and busy, going past dangerous intersections) vs the china town tour. I will keep it short and to the point, this tour is NOT fun. You will be riding close to the ground, passing busy intersections, the gocars are beat up, loud, bumpy, and you will have to get out of the gocar and manually WALK your gocar back to reverse. We purchased the one hour tour and was encouraged to take the Golden gate tour. It is absolutely impossible to finish the tour in an hour. Keep in mind, we did not stop or leave the gocar at any point and followed the GPS instructions to the T. Unfortunately, we were afraid to go off the tour because some streets were too steep and not sure if the gocar could handle (it was slow and not powerful enough). I do not blame the staff, I blame the manager for this unethical business. What surprised me most was the manager's demeanor that changed like a lightswitch. He was making jokes in the beginning and by the time we returned, he rushed us out. He would not give the time of day and said "if we do this for every customer, we would be out of business. Most people come back 15 minutes late" and walked away. He already expects people to be late! Talk about horrible customer service and unethical practice. There are so many other things to do in the bay. Do not waste your time and money on this place!

Yelp
Awesome experience. Been to SF a handful of times and these little cars give you a whole different experience. My wife and I got 2 of the classic Go-Cars with our 5 and 8 year olds riding shotgun. Everyone had a blast. Cars have had a lot of love. Clutch went out on one of the cars (thankfully just a couple blocks away from the facility). They brought a replacement car relatively quickly. Recorded tour guide is pretty muffled out of the speaker and difficult to hear w/ the engine, but the real experience is simply just riding/driving around with the scenery. Definitely recommend doing this.

Yelp
This was hella fun. I'm a sf local and native so we always made fun of folx who did this. But Jose was Hella chill and provided great service for us I. Understanding hot to use this vehicle. I would highly recommend and use the gps too. View were great restroom inside and great video tutorial

Yelp
I've always seen this when visiting SF but this time, we did it with another couple. Quite a pleasant experience. It took some getting used to but you eventually get the hang of the driving around the streets. I wasn't quite sure what to expect and we did get lost because I didn't follow directions properly. The place was easy to find and plenty of parking in the area. You will need to sign a release and off you go. I'd like to try this again with the electric vehicle they have.

Yelp
This was a pretty cool and pretty epic experience for me and my boyfriend! We decided to go with the five hour guided navigation tour and enjoyed every minute of it. We see ourselves definitely doing these go carts again. It was really awesome to be able to have a navigation to you which route to take Just to be shot by the same thing that you've never seen before 115 the city. So much history in the city. The first car that we got we had to literally within the first five minutes turn around and exchange it out but there was no problem or no questions asked about doing so. The guy that helped us at work that day Was pretty informative and pretty cool. If you've never done something like this before, you're definitely missing out. Do be advised even from the gym and that works there. Keep an ion where you park your vehicle in that area as he says, there have been many reports of car vandalism. When you visit here you will be required to sign a waiver form and also watch a safety video and informative video about how to use the go cart, and with the navigation will do. We highly recommend this type of outdoors activity. Have fun!

Yelp
Went here for my birthday as a Bay Area local and had a wonderful time exploring. There's always more to learn! Family friendly. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The music that played during some of the driving parts was amusing. I would recommend go car highly!

Yelp
Yo!!! This tour was EVERYTHING!! The minor things that occurred were instantly outweighed by all the smiles and excitement my munchkin showed and the politeness of the crew. You may run into getting stuck behind a crowd making walk-in reservations... Suck it up, that means you're in the right place. If you get lost, not admitting that I did or didn't but they understand just explain and keep it moving! When I say this tour is worth every cent!!!! It IS!! Do it! Ooohweeee we had a blast!!!!

Yelp
A MUST TRY EXPERIENCE. SO MUCH FUN!! I can't tell you how much fun my bf and I had. We booked the two hours tour and omg we dragged it for 2.5 hours. WORTH EVERY PENNY!! We can't believe how long this tour was, we thought two hours was good enough but it wasn't! We booked for 3:30 pm and I wished we got their earlier since they close @6. If we knew how fun this was we would of booked 4-5 hours. There was a moment where we thought the gocar would not make it up the steep hills, but IT DID!! We went almost all around SF but due to our timing we didn't have time to check out other spots, bummer! Next time we definitely will pick the 4-5 hours long ride!

Yelp
If you're visiting San Francisco and only have a day to explore, I highly recommend renting one of these and visiting the city! We were able to see almost all of the sights on SF. We enjoyed our experience tremendously. The GPS kind of lags sometimes and is a bit confusing but overall pretty easy to navigate.

Yelp
The highlight of our whole trip! We definitely would not have been able to see as much as we did without this tour. Granted, we did the 4 hour tour, but there's SO much to see, and you don't want to feel rushed. Had an opportunity to stop and take pics, which was nice. PRO TIP: They have an early bird special that will get you an extra hour (3 hours) for the same price as the two hour tour if you pick up the car between 10 - 11am. So get there early! Plus, you hit less traffic on the roads, and all the touristy spots aren't as crowded in the morning. They tried to give us an older run-down car, and I asked for a newer one. Our car was fast, and we never felt unsafe in the car. You do need to be mindful of traffic laws and don't take stupid risks. Loved everything about this!!

Yelp
SCAM!!!! stay away at all costs!! I'm a bay area native and have always wondered about these tours and suggested my gf take her and her sisters there for a birthday and I feel horrible for how bad of an experience it was We rented two carts and opted for the one hour tour, the guy who helped us asked if we wanted to do the china town tour or golden gate bridge tour and we opted for the golden gate bridge tour (We told him and HE KNEW we signed up for the 1 hour tour) followed the gps directions turn by turn, didn't make any detours, didn't even stop for pictures and drove at the speed limit. There is no way in hell you can complete the tour in one hour and what they don't tell you beforehand is that there's a $1 per minute charge for any time over an hour. In the end we couldn't even finish the tour and just headed straight back since we were overtime, upon returning they tried to quickly usher us out but we brought up the issues about the route being too long and that was when they told us we would be charged $120 extra ($60 per car). unfair, shady business practice, stay away at all costs. I feel stupid that I was tricked as a bay area native but I feel even worse for the tourists that fall for this trap and get scammed out of money. Upon checking the website the golden gate bridge tour is a 2 hour tour which makes sense why it was impossible for us to finish but since we informed him we wanted to do the one hour tour he set us up for a route that was literally impossible for us to finish therefore knowingly scamming us out of money. I will add that we tried to reason with them upon learning about the extra charge and the guy literally walked away and refused to talk to us, real professional skim through the other reviews, many others have had similar experiences regarding being overcharged

Yelp
We loved our Go Car tour and I'd definitely do it again. The navigation system was great and gave lots of cool information and insight into the city and points of interest. I'll say it's a tight fit for two adults, but as long as you don't mind getting cozy with each other it works out. We had a blast exploring and learning about interesting things we want to go back and check out on foot. We did a three hour tour ( a three hour tour ) so there was time to do some stopping and getting out but not a lot--I think there is an all day package you can do that would allow for more getting out but we were happy with three hours. Give it a try if you're in San Fran or if you see Go Cars in another city!

Yelp
Absolute blast! Felt like we were on a roller coaster half the time. The freedom to move around in neighborhoods you would never see on a tour bus and the info given was priceless! One of my favorite SF experiences by far.. I highly recommend !

Yelp
5 stars for service. The process was quick and easy! There was A LOT of paperwork and fine print that (to me) was designed to get you to just want to skip it all to just get it over with. There are several insurance options which I did not like. I made sure to video tape the car in front of an employee because the cars are pretty beat up and did not want to be charged for old damage. The GPS tour was really cool but like WAZE it lags and you WILL miss important turns. Since there isn't a reverse option I had to get out and pull the car a couple of times which is in convenient in the cold busy weather. It was a fun way to see the city quickly. Easy to drive. The only gripe is that they are not cleaned well. My hands were black after our ride, seats are not padded well nor comfortable. I chose the $18 insurance package $150 for a deposit 1 hour = $110

Yelp
Had a great time driving around the city in the little yellow car. People were so happy to see us drive bye. The navigation system didn't work good but we knew our way around. It was a great experience. Go on a week day if you can, less traffic

Yelp
Being a local and seeing these cars zip up and down the streets of San Francisco made me smirk. "You bunch of tourists!" That's the phrase that I would frequently say to myself. I also told myself that I would never ride or drive on one of these things. Boy, was I ever wrong. Yes, I was apathetic towards tourists driving around the city in these yellow mini go carts, and even scoffed at 'em. But, I have seen the light and have turned a complete 180 on my attitude and stance. Last year, my company had a great idea for our manager outing by having a scavenger hunt in the city. They provided the rules in advance as we all met here. The associates working here were very thorough, patient and professional. They had to process more than 30 of us as a group, and not including other groups and they streamlined the process, which was pretty impressive. Once we got paired up and all the paperwork, safety videos and liability waivers were signed, we couldn't wait to start our adventure. These vehicles are pretty fun to drive, and it's a good thing it's open air as the smell of gasoline could be an issue if you're sensitive to this smell. My only knock on them is that they're not too comfortable to drive and for a such a small vehicle, they require a wide turning radius. However, these little things are pretty impressive as they have enough power to travel up and down the hills of the city. But most of all, they are hella fun to drive while we maneuvered our way through Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, North Beach, Marina, Presidio, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill, Cow Hollow and Nob Hill. We were the ones zipping in and out and up and down while the people driving in their own vehicles were probably looking at us with the same contempt I gave the tourists in my own car. We could feel their stares, but we didn't care since we were having a blast. And guess who won the scavenger hunt? It helps to know your city. It's fun to be a tourists in your own city. More people should try it. Especially after this lockdown is over.

Yelp
I wanted the most touristy experience in SF and got it with GoCar! You get to see a huge chunk of the touristy spots in SF through the 3-hr tour that is offered. Note: they don't give you a refund if it's raining so plan accordingly. That being said, I drove in the rain because of the policy and still had a decently fun time. Upon arrival and check-in, you get a brief introduction to how the maps and car works and you are given two helmets. Then you're off to the roads! The Golden Gate Bridge is absolutely stunning and you get to see some of the most scenic spots with the 1hr tour. Overall: I don't think I would do it again because the car is really loud but it's a must for first time visitors. Also make sure you take advantage of the early bird special!

Yelp
This is such a fun tour and the go car is super easy to use. We loved driving down Marina Blvd. to Crissy Field. I recommend this GoCar tour! It's a ton of fun!

Yelp
We purchased the three hour tour! This activity was definitely a highlight for our mini vacation. We visited the Ghirardelli Square (FYI if you show them your receipt from the GoCar Tour, you will receive 10% off on your purchase), Golden Gate Bridge, Baker Beach, and much more. The cars is equipped with GPS that navigates you throughout the city and will prompt you when you have 30 minutes remaining. If you are visiting San Francisco and it's a beautiful sunny day, I highly recommend the GoCar Tours! Con: the speaker volume kept going in and out.

Yelp
If you had never driven a motorcycle before, don't do this!!! It is not a car. They should rename it to GoMo (Go Motorcycle).

Yelp
We had a great time. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. Driving the car was easier than expected and the GPS/tour guide was excellent and provided great directions and information. My only negative here is we were told after dropping the car off that we go inside for a copy of our receipt. We did and we're told it would be emailed. After waiting a couple hours with no email, I called and was told it would be sent again. 4 days later and I'm still waiting. They have my correct email as he read it back to me, and I've received emails from them prior. I don't believe I went over time and definitely didn't damage the vehicle, but a receipt after putting down a $300 deposit would be nice.

Yelp
So much fun for our honeymoon! One hour doesn't give you enough time but we had fun traveling around San Francisco. If you somehow take a wrong turn your gps can not catch up u til you find your way back which was frustrating. But it was a fun time. Exploring San Francisco just remembered that it does not have a reverse. We had to push it backwards to get back on the road. It was a lot of fun would highly recommend thank you for laughter on our honeymoon.

Yelp
My husband and I did the all day tour option and absolutely loved it!! The best part was that we were able to go at our own pace and stop anywhere we wanted. I saw all the fun amazing sites San Francisco had to offer. We highly recommend this tour!!

Yelp
Best SF experience! We purchased the whole day tour and it was worth every penny! We even took our 8 and 13 year olds and they loved it! The one or three hour tour can be worth it but you'd definitely be rushed for time. This little car guided us to all the historic parts of SF and brought us through many breathtaking, picture perfect sights along the coast. We even got to refuel halfway through the day for free! Would recommend the whole day tour to anyone who wants to explore SF the right way. This also saves your rental car from getting broken into (we saw this happen to lots of cars during the guided tour and it was saddening to see). The staff were also very helpful and nice. Give it a try!

Yelp
Great way to see the city in a short amount of time! We did the 3 hour tour. We loved it! Although you don't have a lot of time to get out and look around everywhere. It does give you a good idea of what you might want to go back to and see more of.

Yelp
Amazing time! So glad we did this. Our GoCar was a in need of some TLC, but no problems. The GPS guide was brilliant - got us where we wanted to go and gave us interesting tid-bits along the way. Excellent software: kudos to the programmers/developers. Employees on-site were also very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our experience.

Yelp
If you're looking for the perfect way to spend your afternoon in San Francisco, I highly recommend to take this tour. It is so much fun and very affordable. I have to say this was the highlight of my trip. I got to see the worlds most crooked street, the famous golden gate, and literally drove all over town. I just fell in love with the entire experience.
