I've been shopping here for over 20+ years and love everything. Saddened the turkey sage bulk or sausage has a sour tainted taste to it. Please stop mixing the meat that is on way to being spoiled. I taste it and it's too expensive to keep throwing away. Godshalls had the best in the city and I'm very disappointed with the taste.

Hey, this place is generational. When you come here as a child, we'll you remember where quality is. Haven't had red meat in over 45 years. The place that helped me eat good. All poultry all the time. Wings, breast, turkey parts and even turkey slim Jim's. O, and the customer service is on point.

I recently found this place in the past 9 months I am 67 years old and I will literally pull my little hand truck to go to Reading terminal and buy all the chicken and eggs that I possibly carry. They have the freshest chicken the nicest double yolk eggs. I love this place it's far but I will go

Cleanest poultry you’ll ever purchase. I try and make sure I make it to GODSHALL at least once a month to load up on my poultry. I also love that, no matter how many faces these gentlemen see daily; they acknowledge their regulars. That makes a world of difference when you’re spending your money at an establishment.

I have been going to the reading terminal for over 20 plus years. This morning I go to Godshalls for some chicken wings. I don’t know why the wings are beat up and bruised looking with red and black spots. If I am spending my hard earned money you’re not going to just give me anything. One of the guys waited on me and got an attitude because I didn’t want chicken wings with black spots on them. So brought that to his attention and he got an attitude and started throwing the wings in the bag. The way he was doing it I could clearly see he was mad! They will never have to worry about getting my money ever again!! They need to give their employees customer service training. That is bad business!!!

My mother introduced me to Godshalls in the Reading Terminal Market when I was 18 and have been a regular ever since (i will be 50 in a few months). The poultry is fresh, and the various chicken and turkey breakfast sausage is crazy good. The staff is very customer service friendly, and you will get everything that you need, including turkey ribs and chops. To be around as long as they have is a testament to the product and service provided, so give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Don't let the long line deter you either. They have plenty of staff and are efficient so you will not be there long.

Bought a Xmas turkey - amazing quality, super fresh bird. Great flavour and not greasy/flabby like many of the Turkeys from grocery stores. Also bought some chicken products which were equally high quality. Lovely people to deal with and very fair price for the quality. If you like good quality poultry, this place deserves your support!

A great place to buy eggs. They even have double yolk eggs...

I visited Godshall"s at the Reading Terminal. The person that waited on me was so RUDE. He served me with a total of dislike. The item that I wanted was in the case, it was the last and I asked this employee was it the last or did he have more in the back. He rudely said I will look. Paid for the item, he asked if I wanted a bage; he stated 35 cents for the bag. Paid and walked aways, then I thought he was very not caring/rude. I started to walk away then I thought why. I went back to return the item and asked for the Manager named BRICE. He showed no concern so I asked for my money back and my complaint with, HE SHOW NO CONCERN ABOUT THE SITUATION. Waiting for my return transaction, I heard another transaction being for asked how a bag was, it was stated $.25, when I asked it was $.35 cents. DON'T GO TO GODSHALL IN THE READING TERMINAL. POOR SERVICE.

Godshalls is my go to for all my poultry needs the products are top notch and they have things that no one else Carry The people are great and knowledgeable and courteous we come all the way from Souderton a must go

Grabbed some chicken thighs when I visit and it was overall a pleasant experience. The service was very nice and their prices were pretty fair. It was $12 for around 3 or so lbs. Grab a ticket as you wait for your # to be called out. There is alot of choices so take your time. Don't feel rush with all the Hussle and crowd in Reading Terminal Market. Relax and take your time. I'll probably stop by again once I'm done that chicken.

I used to be a Godshalls guy. All their turkey bacon, sausage,etc. has nitrates! Their sliced chicken for steak sandwiches gave me terrible gas.Lines are usually real long and move slowly. Their turkey chops are good though, and this is the only place I've come across that sells turkey ribs(thigh meat). I found Haltemans to have better quality poultry and most of their turkey sausages are nitrate free(just ask); so now I'm a Haltemans guy.

Free range turkey, duck, and chicken are sold here in all manner of traditional, unique, and interesting cuts - London Broil Turkey Breast; Turkey Chops; Chicken Scallopini, just to name a few. They make their own sausages on the premises - Turkey and Sage, and Chicken and Apple are my favorites. You can also special order game birds - geese, pheasants, squabs (if you're so inclined to eat pigeon), and quails. Occassionally they will have small game non-poultry for sale like rabbit. You can also get Grade A farm fresh eggs here, which I've found to be cheaper than Super Fresh! If your curious about how to cook any of the items you purchase or special cuts - the guys at the counter are willing to give you helpful and friendly advice!

When I first moved to Center City I bought my groceries from a bunch of different places, trying to find one I'd stick to. I shopped around all over Reading Terminal Market, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and (regrettably) Chinatown for about 1 year, but I kept coming back to Godshall's. The prices, freshness, and variety are unlike any meat shop I've been to around Philly. They have an impressive selection of poultry products including turkey or chicken bacon, turkey breakfast sausage, whole turkeys, all kinds of eggs, a wide variety of sausages both smoked and raw, all kinds of cuts of chicken, smoked turkey legs, and their meat is always fresh. The prices aren't bad either. I'm from Texas where everything is cheap, so I was surprised to find that the prices here aren't too much more than what I'm used to. It gets pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday, but the people at the counter are pretty quick so the wait is never too long. But be careful to look for your number on the screen and listen when they call it because I've seen some disappointed people miss their numbers.

A great source for poultry - whol and parts (and eggs!) right in the Reading Terminal Market. Ground Turkey, turkey and chicken cutlets, boneless skinless chicken thighs and whole fryers are some of the GREAT things I have bought here. Great place!

Free range eggs and turkey bacon and turkey sausage...yum! Always fresh, and nice service. Anything poultry, you want to come here.

I've always been jealous of birds. Their ability to let loose the bounds of the earth and fly away gives them appeal that is denied to most other creatures of the world. My jealousy slowly turns to hate and my hate turns to hunger. When my hunger cannot be controlled, it turns to Godshall's They sell some serious bird here and their duck breast is really high quality (this was a judgement made by a friend of mine who is way more experienced in the kitchen than I am so you should take his word for it).

Grab a ticket and wait for your name to be called. The service is amazing and the food is always fresh and the prices are fair. They will literally cut the meat however you want. It's great! I usually get chicken boobs or wings. Very quick and always neat, clean and friendly. Since I started coming here, I haven't even thought of buying meat from a traditional supermarket.

I have already written a review for the reading terminal which I LOVE!!!!!!! However, I must write one especially for this fine establishment. I DIE over this place. It has everything and anything Turkey. You have never had turkey like this before. It is my absolute go to place in the terminal at least 2-3 times a week. Farm fresh eggs as well. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Gooooooooooooooood!!!! Prices are amazing!!

These guys know their poultry. And until I tried some of my favorite chicken recipes using their chicken, I had no idea how good those meals could taste. I'm not kidding -- you can really taste the difference. The chicken is fresh, local & free range. They've got eggs, whole chickens, and everything in between. And they have chickens for every purpose -- stewing, roasting, frying, you name it. They'll break down a chicken for you, and they'll do it in the blink of an eye. And if you're not sure what you need, tell them what you're making and they'll point you in the right direction. On top of all that, the prices are awesome. Plus, my favorite part of the shopping experience is that you have to take a numbered paper slip and wait to be called, old school style.

When Giunta's didn't have the poultry I needed (skinless, boneless thighs), I stopped by Martin's and found out they don't stock much poultry. So I figured Godshall's would be it. And it is my go-to now for poultry at the market. Chicken, duck, and turkey abound. Good for whole birds and parts. So now, I have a place for beef and pork (Martin's) and a place for poultry at the Market.

My wife and I love turkey bacon, but until we moved to center city we had to settle for butterball, Jennie o, etc. But now that we in CC, and have tried their turkey bacon for the first time today, we are hooked. The flavor is outstanding, the slices are nice and thick, and if you buy it in 3 pound units, you get a discount. I believe we paid around 13 dollars for 3 pounds. I love this place!

Love Godshall's poultry however, the customer service is lacking to the point of me taking my business elsewhere. Today I went there and there was a large volume of customers due to the impending blizzard headed our way. Missed my number when it was called (which was only by 2 numbers ) after waiting about 20 minutes and when I asked for assistance was told " there's plenty more numbers in the dispenser " Unacceptable response to a customer who has been a patron for at least 20 years !!! Oh and I would give this a pass if I had not been hearing from others that lately the customer service is poor.

I came here today to get some chicken breasts and turkey ham, the line was very quick, no more than 5 minutes just after the weekday lunch rush. I got 3 large skinless chicken breasts and 1/2 pound of turkey ham for 14! The friendly person at the counter sliced the chicken breasts for me because they were very large, and tonight I ate the chicken for dinner, it was delicious! The chicken was moist, juicy, tender, flavorful and it's free range chicken, I believe! I will definitely come back here, this is a great poultry shop with friendly service and great chicken! I'm eager to try the turkey ham tomorrow for lunch.

I had the worst experience ordering my turkeys for thanksgiving. The young girl who answered the phone was very rude. I tried to pay over the phone and she said she didn't accept phone payments. I understand but when I asked how much my turkeys would be she gave me the price per pound and said you can do the math. I asked her if she had my turkeys in the back if she could just tell me she said she couldn't. That the turkeys were in a box. So basically what's the point in reserving them if all I had to do is show up and ask for it. I understand it's a busy time of year but is it going to hurt them if they can just give a price up front, especially when it cost $3.25/lb and giant has them for .69ct/pound. Next time I'll go frozen.

I came here for the first time at the recommendation of a friend who said their eggs were good. I looked at the impressive selection of eggs - white, brown, extra large, jumbo, double yolk - and thought, hmmmmm, I've never bought double yolk eggs before. Why not?? It'll be exciting. I paid the minimal premium and was happy with my purchase, until I started using the eggs that is. Out of a dozen eggs, only ONE had a double yolk. Now, the eggs themselves are fine in terms of taste and whatnot. But it's the false advertising that gets to me. I don't like being lied to. And every time I cracked open another one of those eggs, hoping to find that double yolk, it felt like a disappointment again and again. Get regular eggs instead. Or go elsewhere for special double yolk eggs.

I have lived in Philly since 1991. Being a cook for my church and purchasing what I cook for home also, Godshalls is my go-to place for special meats and food items. I can only say good things about them.

The people here are always good for recommending what kind/cut of meat to get for a specific recipe. They also sell entire cartons of double yolked eggs -- I got 25 yolks out of the last dozen I bought!

I treat my family and friends to Christmas Breakfast. I go to Reading terminal to Godshell's for poultry. I found they are consistent time after time. I would go no place else for poultry for my family. You guys are the best thank you for being there for me year after year

I've only been here twice around 2-3pm when RTM is less crowded. I only ever purchased chicken breast, thighs, and wings. Every time I come here, I find myself spending slightly over my grocery (for one person) budget. It's chicken. It's not supposed to be "expensive" (ex. $3-5 more than others for the same product. I also found the thighs to be a little dry when I cooked them the same way as Whole Foods and others' thighs.

I just bought from here for the first time yesterday. I was really impressed with their selection of turkey substitutes: turkey pepperoni, turkey scrapple (if you're so inclined), homemade turkey sausage, turkey bacon... you name it, they have it. As a non-beef or -pork eater, I am surprised I didn't discover this earlier! Of course, I'd noticed it on my many trips to the Terminal, but the line was always so long that I never gave it a second look. Yesterday, however, I had some time to kill, so I pulled a number and waited for twenty minutes to give my order. The wait was worth it. I ate some of the chicken for dinner, and it was fresh, juicy, and delicious. I'm happy that I know of this place now, because I'd much rather buy local. I usually buy my chicken breast and turkey sausage/bacon at Whole Foods, which I will never do again. The price for a pound of boneless, skinless chicken breast was $2 less than that of Whole Foods, and the chicken is better.

This is my favorite and ONLY place where I choose to buy meat in the city. Godshalls sells local, free-range poultry at much more reasonable prices than anything you could buy at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. Just yesterday, I bought a whole pound of turkey pepperoni for $6.99, and lemme tell ya --- one pound of pepperoni is a whole mess of pepperoni! My husband and I will be eating pepperoni on everything for weeks to come. I also continuously buy turkey burger from them and the meat is always fresh & flavorful. I refuse to make turkey burgers with meat from anywhere else. The people who work at Godshall's are always very courteous and helpful as well. I am not very schooled in the ways of meat. I find that if I ever have any questions about a certain cut or kind of poultry, no matter how stupid I may think the question is the friendly Godshall's employee will happily answer it for me. My next trip back, I plan to buy some of their turkey bacon & a pound of a few of their many varieties of turkey sausage.

Their chicken used to be the best! It taste like a chicken. Now they aren't the same! Might as well get your chicken from Super Fresh, same taste the same and it's cheaper.
