I love Korean BBQ. I have been to a LOT of Korean BBQ restaurants. I can say, without exception, that this is the worst kbbq I've had yet.
Every single marinated meat was cloyingly sweet. The bulgolgi was too sweet. The spicy pork bulgolgi was marinated in the same sickly sweet marinade as the beef with a little hint of the least spicy gochujang I've ever encountered. The garlic pork belly, which I thought would be, you know, pork belly with garlic on it, was sticking to the grill it was so sweet. Why was it sweet?!
The pork shoulder and brisket were only saved because they weren't marinated at all. I think the best thing I had was the corn cheese (yes, it was sweet). I don't know if it was an off day in the kitchen or if they just toss everything in the same commercial teriyaki, but it was rough. The cold noodles tasted like nothing but a hint of pepper (the vegetable), I think the horrifyingly bloated and overcooked tteokbokki was in marinara, the potatoes in the potato salad were undercooked and hard. We got the all you can eat, but man... we weren't even full when we left, we just decided to stop eating because it was not great.
The big smoke vent system was a nightmare. I kept smacking all of the meat into it trying to get it off the grill.
Service was great, everyone was polite and attentive. The atmosphere was good! I gave them a star for that, the servers were fantastic. The food was just so rocky. I almost never leave negative reviews, but I genuinely regret that we chose to go here for lunch. I wish we hadn't. We will not be back.
