Best Ramen in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"This Japanese grocery store in Peachtree Corners features a small counter-service restaurant in back called Okazu Cafe. Regulars swear by the Fujiyama red ramen with rich and creamy tonkotsu broth spiced with a chili miso paste and the Fujiyama black mixed with black garlic oil. The cafe also serves udon and other noodles dishes, along with karaage, shrimp tempura, and a small selection of sushi, but the ramen here tends to be the most popular choice. Gohan includes a few grab-and-go foods, too, like katsu egg salad and fruit salad sandwiches and onigiri. A few seats are available for dining in at tables and along a railing near Okazu Cafe." - Eater Staff

Google
Amazing spot for Japanese groceries! From snacks to specialty items, the selection really captures the charm and feel of a true Japanese market. Yes, there’s a bit of a premium to the pricing, but it’s worth it for the authentic experience. The vending machines for toys add a fun, nostalgic touch — great for kids or collectors. The ready-to-eat food was decent, and there’s even a restaurant inside if you’re looking to sit down and enjoy a meal. Clean, well-stocked, and full of character — definitely worth a visit!

Google
Very nice Japanese grocery store! Depends who is working though, sometimes service is exceptional but sometimes the workers seem bored and aloof. Good selection and decent prices. Nice prepared foods section and they even have a little cafe/restaurant in the back you can order hot food from! Always stop in when I drive by the area. You may want to go early though cause they do sell out of their most popular prepared items quickly.

Google
Fruit cream sandwiches live up to the hype!! Also love the market’s large selection of natto, premium rice and Japanese candies and snacks. Super friendly service too!

Google
Best little Japanese market, with a small little eatery inside with seating. The onigiri and Tonkatsu are delicious and fresh.

Google
Gohan Market is a gem in the suburbs! It's a great place to stock up on frozen items, Ito en tea, and Japanese curry blocks but the highlight is the prepared foods section. Regular offerings include onigiri, egg salad & chicken katsu sandos, and rice bowls. On certain days, you can also find the ever so aesthetic fruit sando and sushi. Sushiro sometimes does a pop-up for assorted fresh sushi! I picked up a lunch tray assortment of 10 different nigiri for less than $20. The Sushiro sushi chef was even there to say hi. The prepared food fridge often has 50% off sandos and onigiri that did not sell the previous day. The rice is notably harder, so it needs to warm to room temp before consumption. Great option if you're picking up food to eat later. Staff are friendly, and one day I will muster the courage to practice the few Japanese words that I know. Pros: prepared foods (onigiri, sukiyaki beef bowl, hot noodles, sandos), friendly staff Cons: restroom could be cleaner

Google
This place is absolutely AMAZING!!!! If you’re looking for traditional Japanese food COME HERE. They have so many things to choose from and we had to try it all! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful as well. 10/10 will return!

Google
We planned our whole Atlanta adventure around visiting this Asian market. In particular we wanted the sweet cream fruit sandwiches. I would drive two hours any day to try those sandwiches again for the first time. They were so pretty and they tasted as delicious as they looked!

Google
I discovered this store while browsing Yelp. It specializes exclusively in Japanese items. When I visited, most of the customers were Japanese. Unlike H Mart, they don’t carry fresh produce like fruits and vegetables. However, I did purchase a bag of premium rice. They have a good selection overall, but it’s about a 10-minute drive from Duluth.

Yelp
Service is awesome! They were out of fish onigiri, so they made me some fresh! It's a bit smaller than it looks in the pictures. Their prices are cheaper than H mart

Yelp
This is a small Japanese grocery store with a order at the counter restaurant in the back. My friend and I met up here to check out their selection of masubi and sushi. We stocked up on various types of spam masubi and onigiri and also got a sushi combo to split. We also ordered takoyaki and ramen to share from the counter. There are just a few tables in the back to eat. The chef knew that we wanted to share the ramen so gave us an extra bowl. The broth for the ramen was out of this world! So creamy and flavorful and it was a steal. I think it was only around $10 and the quality was insane. The takoyaki was good and the sushi looked better than it was, just alright. Apparently they have fruit sandos if you come early enough but they were all sold out when we came for lunch. I would love to come back for their ramen though!

Yelp
a Japanese grocery store with lots of goodies and a small restaurant type store located inside. Everyone was super nice. Plenty of seating inside, you order at the counter and they bring out your food for you. Their menu consists of Japanese dishes like ramen, curries, and other dishes. We tried the: - pork katsu curry over rice: overall a solid dish and good portion size. The curry had veggies like carrots and veggies, but the curry itself for me personally was a little bland. - black tonkotsu ramen: wow 10/10. So much deep, rich flavor from the broth that blew me away. Highly recommend! - karaage: I know that it doesn't look amazing, but the chicken was so good. Crispy on the outside and the inside moist and so tender. I heard this is taking a bit of an ownership change this month so I don't know how much the menu will change. Come while you can to support and definitely get the black ramen!

Yelp
Oh Gohan Market. From groceries to brunch, this place is the absolute best. The is the one stop shop for any-and-all japanese related goodies. But lets talk about food! Their ramen is an absolute 10/10. From the firmness of the noodles, deep and richness of the broth, to the overall appetizers. Its phenomenal. We got their [Tonkotsu Ramen Black], [Shoyu Ramen], and their [10 Piece Takoyaki]. Each one of them was as delicious as your minds can imagine. Soft yet firm noodles, flavorful umami broth, all topped with crunchy toppings. If you are in the area, Gohan Market is a MUST-TRY!!! i

Yelp
One of if not the only Japanese owned and ran market in GA. They have fresh onigiri, sushi, breads like melon pan, and much made daily. They even have a small cafeteria area where they serve authentic Japanese dishes like katsu curry, udon, and ramen to name a few. The market itself isn't the biggest but it's jam packed with some Japanese imported items you can't find at even Assi or H-Mart which is primarily focused on Korean items. This isn't like a real market where you can find items like produce or fresh vegetables but you can find other items like frozen foods or dry goods exclusive to Japan. Can't forget about all the Japanese cold drinks and snacks too. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of Japanese culture and want to get a taste of what a market is like in Japan. P.S. the melon pan sells out pretty fast. So come early for it.

Yelp
This place has a bunch of variety for snacks in particular and a great beverage selection It's not a huge store so they don't have everything and prices are high on some items. Like if you want to buy calpico, go to hmart instead But they carried a ton of beverages I haven't seen elsewhere The claw machines up front are so cute. We came late in the day so there weren't many prepared foods left but the salmon onigiri hit the spot! They have a nice selection of frozen items too but I didn't need anything from there do didn't get much except dango They had a good price on pocari sweat if you're missing that. Would love to see bikkle strawberry milk & ichiran 5 packs though!

Yelp
I went to see this place during a weekday and noticed that the "made to go" platters of food and desserts weren't there. I asked an owner/employee and they mentioned the weekends are best times to come. So I guess I came in on the wrong day oops! I am used to shopping inside of typical larger Asian markets so I felt that the store was tinier than what I imagined and the products are marked a lot higher by 3-4$ than items at other stores. I did not try ordering food yet so this review was solely based on the shopping side. All in all, I think this place is for those who are seeking a sit down Japanese restaurant and a marketplace to grab a couple of things on their way out. I think I will come again on a weekend and give it another try but I wasn't personally too impressed with my weekday visit

Yelp
Insanely reasonable and tasty ramen here. Onigiri rice balls are super convenient when heading out somewhere. Bento's, breads, and sushi even. All kinds of bottled teas and drinks. We'd be buying our groceries here if it met all our needs. Sadly it doesn't, but it's our go to spot for all kinds of Japanese things.

Yelp
The Takatsu White was only $10. That's pretty great pricing for a small location. The takoyaki was $5 and came with 10 pieces. I ended up giving the table next to me half the order since I feel Takoyaki is best served hot/warm. Overall, good price, solid creamy flavor. Drinking the broth I got chunks of fat and tendon which means they break this broth down in house. They maybe have 3-6 tables depending on if they are placed together. You can divide the tables to seat more if you're alone. To order you need to ring the bell, otherwise they will keep cleaning and working on orders. Try to purchase your drink and food in the back before consuming on premises. For larger purchases or lots of small things take it to the front. Once you're done, the store has a large selection of sweets and drinks along with self care items and frozen food items. They also have convenience items found in 7Eleven stores like Onigiri, Pork Cutlet Sandwiches and Egg Salad. They even have fruit sandwiches which tend to go quickly. I really enjoyed, definitely will go for the ramen again.

Yelp
Please try the fresh market out and get the ramen We would come here again just for that. The chef reminded us of our grandparent

Yelp
This is a quaint and small Japanese grocery store. I love the selection of onigiri, sandos, bento boxes, and other assortment of items made fresh daily!!! You have to get in in the morning, or else they really run out fast!!! They also have an in-store food stall with different udon, ramen, and appetizer options. I got the beef udon and takoyaki (both were super affordable!!). We had a late lunch here and browsed the various grocery items they carried (drinks, baked goods, snacks, instant noodles, etc). We were delighted to see that they also had mini claw machines upfront!! We tried our hand at it but failed haha.

Chase C.

Yelp
Although it is a small place, their food really hits! It has the feeling of a Japanese 7/11 and has a ramen shop on the backend. Their Shoyou and Tonkatsu ramen are spectacular! I eat there at least once a month!!!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Atlanta. I stumbled upon this place while exploring in town. It is located in a plaza and there is plenty of parking. But if you don't keep your eye out for it you will definitely miss it. There is a little café in there with ramen and also to go foods in the fridge. I thoroughly enjoyed the cold katsu sandwiches but the onigiri were ok. Everything is well priced. The claw machines in front of the place were quite enticing and I did win one item. The staff there are super friendly and always warmly greeted me when I visited while I was in town. All the items in the store were very organized but there was a limited amount of things and there was a lack of variety. There is mostly Japanese goods there. It is a must visit for the food they have though and to grab some snacks.

Yelp
Went here right after a Photoshoot and saw them online. The fruit sandwiches had me cause I saw them in Japan wanted to try! They are so cute. The store is a good size and had different food items. You can also eat there and have hot and cold food for you to choose from. They got different stuff inside. The lady was nice and the guy in the restaurant was cool too. The service was great. I'll be back! Definitely affordable the sandwich's was good. The bread they use is soft and and hint of sweetness. The rice balls are cool too.

Yelp
I randomly passed this place and had to go in and wow it's amazing. They had little claw games from Japan which were fun to play ( even though I failed at it). All the groceries looked amazing and great selection of Japanese food and some bath/ skincare. I also loved they had a fresh food section.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was really good! Tastes pretty much like restaurant quality with food court prices! Really enjoyed their Tonkotsu Red (spicy) ramen and their takoyaki however we waited over 35mins to get our first dish. But the servers were nice to apologize about it. Overall a hole in a wall spot. Not many seats though so be prepared to wait for a while.

Yelp
Ramen in the back was great and cheap. They made me some fresh Musubi that transported me back to Hawaii when I bit into it. Soooo good!

Yelp
This is my happy place. All of the workers are so friendly and welcoming. This mini Japanese market sells Japanese snacks, pastries, cooking ingredients, drinks, skincare, and more. They often have special sales where goods are sold at a discounted price. At the front of the shop are gachapon machines that have really cute prizes, but it's a bit pricey to play $1 = 1 token. I love coming here for the tuna & mayo onigiri, Koriyama cheesecake and Hawaii Kona blend coffee. These three make for the perfect snack. If you're in the area definitely stop by and check it out :)

Ken W.

Yelp
Bought some ramen and has it shipped to NY The freshness date was only 2 months out Normally not auch a big issue except that i purchased 24 packages. Seems like it was sitting on the shelf for a while and when i emailed them, there wasnt even the courtesy of a reply.....thus somewhat disappointing

Yelp
Cute store with a wide variety of Japanese grocery and home products. Have a small food stand in the back with ramen and bento as well as freshly prepared onigiri for sale. Friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
Best food court! Nice and clean! Fresh goods every morning, all the employees are friendly and hard working. I personally eat here everyday after working out.

Yelp
Absolutely time wasting. Everything was super overpriced, and could easily find that in a H-mart or other Korean market. It was unclean and the staff had no motivation to help us and speak up. I got a drink and some melon candy but the drink was absolutely the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted and left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. The candy chipped my tooth and I almost even chocked on it. It was pretty quiet, but never would come again. I felt instant regret because I was so excited. The drive was about 45 minutes and I wasted so much of my time and money. Would NOT come again.

Zarina G.

Yelp
We drove all the way took me30 minutes , and the food was closed at 4 p.m. They should have it on their website than 6 p.m. Food is pricey. Simply go to a regular restaurant or a different grocery shop. Can't understand the cashier since she's eating her face mask.

Jay J.

Yelp
The place was tiny and an overrated experience. I get it it's japanese and there's a lot of waifus but I will not be coming back. lol
google avatar

Ky W.

Yelp
I love it. It's small, it's close by. There's several items I can get here instead of having to drive to BHwy or Hmart. The Tonkatsu is good too!

Yelp
Food Review based on the prepped food & ramen cafe inside the store: Black Ramen ($10) - Really fast & good serving size! The broth was garlicky & savory. Pork Katsu Bento Box ($9) - This can be heated up if you ask the checkout person! Packed really cute and decently priced. Tuna Mayo/Salmon Onigiri ($2.50ish) - Best value for authentic onigiri in the area! Rice is perfectly sweet and filling is decent. You can also ask to heat this up as well. Fruit Sandwich ($6) - Bit pricey but filled with fruit and not super sweet cream! Bread was a little stale but we did go later in the afternoon. Overall if you crave a Japanese convenience store experience and want to not only shop, but eat the prepped food in store, this is definitely the place to support!

Yelp
My favorite stop for spam musubi, onigiri, and sandos. Such friendly staff and love the variety in the products offered.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cute Japanese store. When you enter, there will be claw machines and you can buy tokens to play. There are a lot of Japanese products... everything you need for sushi you will find it here. I love the section near the back where you can buy snacks. We got half egg and half donkatsu sandwich, mayo tuna onigiri, another onigiri I forgot the name, matcha ice cream, and green tea drink. We paid less than $30. The spam musubi ran out quick... sad. There's Okazu cafe at the back. They sell noodles, sushi, and even takoyaki. You can eat and rest and continue your shopping.

JJ K.

Yelp
A great little Japanese grocery store! Well stocked wonderful candies and snacks. They even havd some beauty/skincare items.

Yelp
I had heard about this new Japanese market that opened and had to check it out. Being from the Bay Area, we have several large Japanese super market chains, but in Atlanta, the options are limited. This is a good start, but it is small. I would come here for some Japanese snacks and the prepped foods from the bakery and the onigiri (Japanese rice triangles that are wrapped in seaweed). I have heard they've started selling ramen to eat in now too! I haven't tried the bentos, but the onigiri I tried was good.
google avatar

Shelley Y.

Yelp
A cute market with Japanese snacks and goodies. It may be on the smaller side but I really enjoyed taking my time and browsing through the items. They have a variety of drinks, snacks, sauces and even some skincare/hair products.
google avatar

Sumika M.

Yelp
So thankful for this Japanese store! It's clean, bright, and stocked pretty well with daily needs. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good selection of frozen prepared food, or frozen ingredients/ Japanese drinks/ rice/condiments/ snacks/ pickles/ beauty products. Just have not seen raw ingredients like veggies and fish. Oh but they do have thinly sliced beef for stir fry or nabe.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent Japanese Store that Japanese dream come true‼ price are not high, (comparing Amazon) many things that you would never though you can purchase in the US. Also Bento and bread are super good and sold out quickly especially in the weekend.

Yelp A Lo T.

Yelp
I am so happy to have stumbled into this gem!! Friendly attendants. Competitive prices. And pretty good assortment of products, from bags of rice, condiments, snacks, frozen delicatessens, beauty products, popular pantry essentials and more. This spot is most welcomed in the neighborhood.

Lauran O.

Yelp
I have been looking for Japanese grocery store with Japanese Ramen Counter, Japanese Onigiris, sandwiches and Bentos. They did not disappoint. The Kakiage Udon was so good! If you are looking for authentic Japanese lunches or snacks stop here.

Jazmin B.

Yelp
I'm so happy a Japanese market opened so close to where I live! I love coming here and buying snacks. Everyone is always so lovely
