Row Hotel Somerville Opens With Lobby Restaurant | Eater Boston

"At 65 Salem St., I saw that neighborhood grocery store Going Bananas received a 17-9 vote from the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association to add beer and wine to its inventory; owner Frank Scire said customers had been asking for alcoholic beverages for years and he only intends to add a small cooler, and the association will send its recommendation to the zoning board, which must approve the plan." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Absolutely amazing sandwiches! If you’re looking for a high-quality, super tasty sandwich at a fair price with generous portions, this is the place to go. The service is a solid 5/5 : the guy behind the counter was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I had the roast beef sandwich and my friends tried the Italian sandwich, both were absolutely delicious and really filling. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, especially for the area. Top-notch ingredients, great portions, and an all-around fantastic experience. We left full and happy. Highly recommend!

Cashier was weirdly pushy about me buying their bananas when i didnt want to. They were a slightly off color and goving uncanny valley and i was really uncomfortable but she was really persistent so i got one and now im having cramps :(

Going Bananas is a lovely neighborhood market. The staff is incredibly friendly and I know I can always get something fresh in a pinch. They have good produce, lots of beverage options, and a solid array of standard dry goods, including baking supplies and party snacks. The prices are a bit higher since it's a boutique grocer, but I'd pay the same price at Star Market down the street, and I'd rather support my local shop.

They did not want to sell me prosciutto because I arrived 10 minutes before they would close. I would suggest to close 10 minutes earlier then! Terrible service, I would recommend going to Monica’s for great prosciutto as « going bananas » does not want to sell to their clients!

Bit pricey but not for the North End. The sandwiches have gotten a bit smaller in the last year but still a great value. The smoothies are delicious as well!
