We went there 2 times and I love the pintxos very much. Especially the busceta de gamba was very delicioso !!!!

It’s a bit pricy but the food especially grilled baby squid is really delicious! The waiter and waitress here are super friendly and efficient who served the food very fast! The drinks are good. Will definitely come back next time we visit San Sebastián.

The food was quite good. Don’t underestimate them just because they aren’t internet popular. 👀

So much to choose from. Freshly grilled prawn skewers it was so good we had double servings. Peppers were delicious and almost everything thing else. Entertaining and most friendly bartender. Great drinks great vibes great value. Highly recommended!!

We had a great time at this bar. It wasn't overly busy and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We even had some banter and cracked jokes. The food was also delicious. I highly recommend the cod stuffed peppers and chipirones (squid). This place is definitely worth a visit.

Did a small tapas crawl and landed on this place first. They are known for their brocheta de gambas (shrimp on bread). Amazing!! Highly recommend. They have s huge pinxtos menu, and a good selection of drinks. Seating inside and out. Highly recommend going here.

Amazing pintxos with equally amazing hospitality! Even though there was a bit of a language barrier, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. This is exactly how a business should be run , creating an atmosphere that makes people want to keep coming back!

Goiz Argi definitely makes my top 3 best pintxos bars in San Sebastián. Every bar has their own specialty and Goiz Argi's happens to be their brocheta de gamba. It literally blew my mind and it was definitely love at first bite. A slice of bread and on top of it lays about a generous serving of shrimp that's been seared to perfection and topped this ridiculously good salsa. Best when paired with a caña of beer :) This is definitely one of those places you can't not visit when you're in the city. Highly recommended and definitely worth the wait in line when it's packed!

This place is AHmazing! So amazing I came every night!! Twice in one night even. The good: pintxos! All of it! I prefer/ like/ want hot food. So I usually pick things that require that cooking on the spot as opposed to pre-cooked and sitting out on the counter with all the other pintxos. Which isn't bad but it's my preference! So I go! And got exactly what I wanted! The grilled shrimp/ that's what you and I and everyone will come here for! Simple prawns, grilled! Garlic sauce on top! That's it! Serve on pieces of baguettes of course!! All that flavored oil! Yummm! My favorite however was the grilled baby squid! They are in season! So duh! But it's top with parsley! Yes.. so Italian! I know! The only thing missing was some spaghetti! :P And their kidneys! Hearts! Offals! If you don't speak Spanish, point! And if you know meat and Spanish: you're golden! They cook whatever they have till it runs out! Raw meat on the counter so be courteous! Grab a drink! Grand a napkin! And mangia!! So good!!! It's a very fast paced spot! Awful busy! Just go in the crowd till the end! Be polite! They are beyond nice to you! Like beyond!!! And the lady chef: totally gave that resting betch face to everyone but after going back, she's the sweetest thing ever to me! Not to the other tourists though :P Food is that good, I went back after my dinner a few times! Everything is super cheap! €3.70 for squid! €2.70 for shrimp! I mean! My bill came out to under €20 every visit! Talk about a huge steal!! Definitely my favorite!!!!

By far my favorite pintxos place in the old town area. We broke all the rules and stayed for almost 45 minutes munching on various bites even though you're expected to move on after 10ish minutes and a few bites. We had chorizo (must try), croquettas, squid, shrimp, and a few other pintxos and for 2 people it ended up being less than 20 euros to be pretty satisfied. Can't recommend this place highly enough! The bartender was chatty and helpful in helping us order, and most of the items are prepared only after you order it so everything comes out hot, fresh and delicious. Seriously enjoyed my time here and wish I discovered it earlier so I could've returned!

Goiz Argi was stop 2 on our Pintxos tour of the evening. After a very crowded and hectic experience up the street, at Borda Berri, we were getting a little wary walking in but the waiter behind the bar spotted me, spoke great English, waved me in and asked a couple of locals to scoot aside so my sister and I can have a spot. The menu is posted in multiple languages, was was a welcome change after a week full of guessing and pointing. We ordered the crab tartlet and croquette, then I asked for a recommendation like I normally do and he said the shrimp skewer was their most popular dish. The crab tartlet was tasty and came with a nice piece of bread for dipping. It was more of a crab dip than tartlet, as can be seen from our photos. The croquette was just as tasty as all the other wonderful croquettes we had in San Sebastian and the shrimp indeed was tasty (it came on top of another piece of bread with some garlic sauce). We saw the stacks and stacks of pre-skewered shrimp sitting right behind the bar with a lady almost dedicated to grilling them to order. I can see why it's their most popular dish. The place is long and skinny like many of the pintxos bars we tried and crowded like so many of the good ones, as well. But best English we encountered at a tapas bar and incredibly attentive service (only place I didn't have to elbow my way in and wave down a waiter after waiting for 10-15 min like all the other places). Our 3 tapas dishes plus a soda water was about 10Euro. Would definitely recommend for people starting out their pintxos crawl.

Get their gambas a la plancha or pulpo a la plancha. Basically their grilled shrimp or grilled octopus server with a marinade and presented on a piece of grilled bread. I came back twice for their shrimp. It is oh soooooo good!

I read about their famous brocheta de gambas, so I made sure to stop here on my pintxos crawl. So I ordered the shrimp skewer, some crab dip, and a txakoli to drink. The famous shrimp skewer on toast did not disappoint. Fairly simple, but the shrimps were cooked well and the topping on top of them was delicious, probably my favorite part. The topping had a nice strong garlic flavor that I really liked. The crab dip wasn't too great, though. It was ok for dipping the bread, but there didn't seem to be much crab meat. Overall, I'm glad to have tried their signature pintxo, so I suggest making a stop here on your pintxo trail. The brocheta de gambas is great, and everything is very cheap.

Hmm stand me against a wall and feed me garlic shrimp. OK As a matter of fact while you are at it serve me Sangria and beer as well as some pulpo. I love this hole in the wall place. Crowded and full of energy.

This was the spot of one of those special moments -- really an experience that I will always remember. We stopped in at Bar Goiz Argi on our first night in Sen Sabastian, ordered some pimientos and brochetas de gambas. Everyone seemed to be drinking Txakoli, so I ordered a glass as well. The occasion, ambience, food and drink all came together in a way that only seems to happen a few times in life. We came here each night -- and loved it on each visit. The people were all very friendly -- and though the place was packed they managed to take very good care of us. Would return -- again and again and again!

Take the brocheta de gambas. Four grilled, meaty prawns with a delicious garlic sauce to go with. Also has a good range of other seafood, the squid being delicious also. Very quick and pleasant service. The place is small and brightly lit but lively.

This place is on the smaller side and gets lost amidst the other more popular pintxos bars like Zeruko, Bar Nestor. It's also across from Bar Txalupa which seems like the biggest tourist trap, so if you're trying to decide between these two, come to Goiz Argi instead! They are known for their brocheta de gambas, which is 4 grilled prawns on a skewer, with a garlic sauce on top. It's delicious, and with the garlic and bread, it's simple but great. This seems to be an older, most classic pintxos bar; they do have some pintxos out on the counter but nothing is showy or as experimental as Zeruko. A lot of what you order is off the menu and they will make it in the small kitchen right in front of you. It seems like this place specializes in seafood. If you find yourself around this bar, pop in for the shrimp skewers and a glass of house wine. I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip to come here, but if you have time, come here. Otherwise, you can probably get grilled shrimp elsewhere.

If you were a food & travel show junky like me (not those trashy Food Network shows to be clear) you will recognize this place, because it has been featured more than once. According to the Mind of a Chef show, Goiz Argi appears to be one of the favorite Pinxtos bars of Juan Mari Arzak. We have tried the tanguerra crab dip, the shrimp skewer, the deep fried blood sausage, and the chorizo bum. All were memorably delicious. I also really enjoyed this bar's house Txakoli, a type of dry sparkling white wine from the Basque region. Too bad that our stay in San Sebastian was too short, and there were too many good pinxtos to try... until next time...

There are lots of pinxtos (tapas) bars to visit in San Sebastian, but you should definitely make time to visit Goiz Argi. Their gambas (grilled shrimp skewers) are their house special were absolutely delicious and mouth-watering. I ordered my first one, then ordered another right away. My boyfriend and I also decided to go back the next day just to have their shrimp again. Their croquets and mushroom dip are also excellent. Goiz Argi has mostly tall stools to sit on, otherwise a lot of people stand around the bar. It's a bit narrow of a space, and can get quite crowded during peak hours. It's not hard to see why though, the food is delicious!

Visited San Sebastian earlier in July and all I had were pintxos. Everywhere and all the time. This place was great. I actually went here a few times since Borda Berri was always packed. The green peppers sprinkled with sea salt...awesome. The shrimp....awesome. The octopus....awesome. The food here was so much better than your usual american style cuisine. Fresh, light, and perfect portion sizes. You never leave feeling stuffed unless you order more than you can handle. That's the best part about pintxos.

It's interesting how very distinctive the San Sebastian pintxo bars are. There are the very traditional places like La Vina and La Cepa, the hip experimental bars like Zeruko and A Fuego Negro, the calm, elegant places like Casa Urola and Atari Gastroteka and then you have Goiz Argi and La Mejillonera which probably not coincidentally specialise in seafood in a tiled, stand up only canteen like bar. It's a fun atmosphere and the prawn skewers are particularly recommended - it's a good stop off before the richer fare of Borda Berri just down the road.

I really liked the gamba toast here! Nice fluffy sweet omelette with shrimp atop a piece of bread with some ham. The aioli on it was perfect. Brocheta de Gambas was also pretty tasty, nicely seasoned/grilled shrimp.

Loved this pintxos bar! We were referred here by our pintxos tour guide. The bruschetta de gambas was hands down my favorite.

This place is known for their skewers of grilled prawns. We tried these and the grilled squid. Although the grilled prawns were pleasant enough, they were quite ordinary so it would not make my shortlist of places to revisit on another trip.

This place was excellent. Small, but full of life and very food food. Service is very attentive and friendly. I was told to try one of their specialties, pintxos de gambas (shrimp). This very simple looking shrimp skewer over a piece of bread and topped with a sort of red chimi churri had a lot of flavor. This pintxo pretty much slapped my face with the freshness of the grilled gambas and the kick of the red sauce. It was just incredible. I definitely need to come back for more.

Our first stop in our pinxto tour in San Sebastian. One of the girls in the group had a list of places to try and this was our first stop. We walked by so many delicious looking places but just drooled on our way there... because we were ready to eat! For 4 girls, we ordered Pulpo plancha - YUM! My fave dish Risotto with mushrooms - tasty but a very small portion Risotto with cheese - meh it was okay Fish with some yellow sauce - tender and really tasty And of course some Txakoli to wash it down with. We want more!!!

It seems like you just can't go wrong in San Sebastián, but there are places that stand out a little and Goiz Argi is one. Most dishes are warmed/grilled for you on order. Our favorite pintxo was the gambas. This little shrimp were cooked to perfection and drenched in an olive oil with garlic served on top of a slice of baguette. The place is kind of narrow, so be prepared to be rubbed up against if it's packed :)

Went here on advice from friends who visited years ago and it did not disappoint. While it may not be crowded or look modern (or rustic), the food is fantastic! Get the shrimp and a glass of tinto

This is THE place to get shrimp kebabs in San Sebastian. Ask for gambas and a glass of txacoli while you watch them freshly grill beautiful shrimp skewers on a flat top to order. Eat your skewers, throw your napkins on the floor, get the cuenta (bill) and then move on to the next place :)

This place opens earlier than a lot of the other bars - so it is a good place to start your pintos crawl. This place is very small - but service was fast and easy. We had the brochette de gambas - so good that we ordered seconds. They have a TV screen with the menus in Spanish and English which is helpful!

this was definitely the spot for shrimp. one of the best bites of my trip was the gambas dish that came on a piece of bread. crazy good. only ate the little shishito pepper like things besides the shrimp. also good, but those are always good. no point in really eating anything else when that shrimp dish was so good.

Mugaritz gave us a list of pintxos bars to visit and the best thing to eat. This place was on the list and we only ordered to the shrimp bruschetta . The shrimp is sitting on the counter raw but once you tell the barman what you want, they will grill up a fresh one for you! Great flavor and a simple tomatoey sauce on top! Get one and move on!

We stopped by for a quick bite. The food was good but was not at the level of a couple of other places we tried in the area. We enjoyed the meal and would go back. However, I may have to try the gambas that one of the other people raved about in their review.
