Miami’s 13 Essential Food Hall Dishes | Eater Miami

"For this aromatic sweet and savory bao duo, crispy house-roasted duck is tucked into steamed, pillowy puffs of simple yeast dough and topped with a thinly-sliced cucumber. A slather of hoisin sauce rounds out the flavors." - Juliana Accioly

Please look at this and use your own judgement. Flavorless dollar store food. Genuinely don’t understand how those is on the menu. Might be the worst thing I’ve ever eaten no exaggeration. Threw it all away

Google
Disappointing for Vegetarians They have fried tofu, with various yummy sauce options. They have rice. They have veggies. The problem is, to combine these into an actual meal involve ordering them all separately for almost $40. Unfortunately, the employees don't care enough to figure it out for a polite customer. Instead, they just let me walk away bewildered. I've worked in multiple restaurants. This is just poor service.

SINGAPORE MEI FUN SHRIMP and LETTUCE WRAPS were 🔥🔥🔥 Shoutout to Frank! You’re the best man! Awesome food recs!!! 10/10 would order again!

This restaurant is situated inside the 1-800-LUCKY Asian food hall. It has the longest lines and for good reason - the food is really tasty and made fresh. The open kitchen provides an interactive experience where you can see your dishes being made. Their fried calamari is perfectly crispy and seasoned and doesn’t require any sauces or anything to eat. The crispy chicken is just that - big bowls of crispy yet tender fried chicken covered in whatever sauces you choose. We did 3 different sauces: General Tso, Orange, and Spicy Sesame. Each had a unique flavor that was delicious and well executed. The prices are quite high, but this is what you would expect to pay in this area. The prices are also similar to prices at all other restaurants in the food hall. At peak meal hours, finding tables is tough, so be sure to grab one as soon as you see an opening.

Google
Subpar food. My friend and I had both the Pecking Duck Bao & the Char Sui Bao which were both okay and basically tasted the same. We then went for a noodle bowl with a shrimp mix and I still can't figure out how something so saucy could taste so bland... a case for Untold Mysteries. It just didn't hit the way it looked like it would. Loved the lemonade!

Frank is the G. The Pork Belly Bao is our favorite. Such a cute spot. Definitely recommend!

Google
Probably the worst Asian food I’ve ever had. The Singapore chow mai fun was so bland with no flavor. Only the straight taste of curry powder. Had to add 3 packets of soy sauce for an edible bite. Chicken was very dry. One bite left me with a dry mouth. Not well made at all. On top of auto gratuity added, this was the worst $25 I have ever spent.

Google
Stopped by Gold Marquess inside 1-800 Lucky for lunch. First time there. It was pretty good. Their Katzu Curry Chicken was one of the best curry dishes I’ve had. The chicken was fried perfectly and it wasn’t dry at all. If you stop by 1-800 Lucky, check them out and try the Katzu Curry Chicken.

Yelp
Their fried rice is a 10/10. Flavored so well, you dont even need soy sauce! We had the duck fried rice and the duck pieces were moist. I added a little chili oil from a nearby vendor just for more heat. Would definitely return for the noodles.

Yelp
I ordered the coconut chicken curry. It was a large portion and came with a large amount of rice. It tasted great but could have used more sauce. There was also a piece of shrimp in my plate and a long black hair, neither of which I remember ordering. The ambiance is nice. We sat in their shaded patio.

Yelp
had the beef ribs and they tasted great. Service was fast and friendly. looking forward to trying other things on the menu next time i return.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!!! They have quite a few lunch options including a bento box. I went with the salmon fried rice and it didn't disappoint. The portion is very good and the salmon cooked perfectly. It comes with the skin on which is also fried crispy and the rice has a nice flavor. I also tried the White Peach Yuzu and it has a sweet and tart flavor. It paired well with my lunch. I would definitely recommend this vendor within 1-800 lucky.

Yelp
This location is inside the 1-800-Lucky food hall. We ordered at their stall and grabbed a table to eat at. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with any option. Portions are larger than expected, but they can definitely be split between two people. Had the edamame for our starter. Just salted but was still delicious. We devoured it. I had the sesame crispy chicken with rice and it's some of the best sesame chicken I've ever had. Perfectly marinated and crispy. My friend had the coconut curry chicken and it was yummy as well. The sauce was a little watered down in my opinion but it was still good. Everything was well cooked. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Good food, good portions, which made me feel better about the prices. The lemonade was a bit strong, but I'm not complaining about it, I just asked for a cup of water and essentially got more out of it ;) The guy at the cash registered was friendly and explained some of the dishes which was helpful. I would come here again.

Yelp
Delicious and fast! 2 words to describe Gold Marquess. I ordered the General Tso flavored Crispy wings. So crispy and good. I ravaged my wings. While here I had a chance to chat with Tanisha R., general manager. She was a great help on my first visit. While here I also redeemed a nice Yelp perk, my choice of lemonade or tea. It was yummy as well. Pay a visit if you're in Wynwood!

Yelp
10/10 food 10/10 customer service I am Chinese traveling from La to Miami and I got homesick! The food here is as authentic as you will find in the area. The cashier (long curly hair) was extremely nice to me- if anything the nicest person I encountered on my trip. Will definitely visit again

Yelp
Let me tell you a thing or two... one, pecking duck bao... two another pecking duck bao. So enjoyed our experience eating here. We actually came in because Yelp brought us to try some soup dumplings from YIP. We didn't realize this was a food court of sorts. Best decision ever. After we ordered our soup dumplings, we also wanted Bao, this was our purpose and mission. We ordered the pecking duck bao and it was goodness on a cloud of dough. Man, and the customer service can't be topped. I guess we'll go home and dream about how amazing this was. But if you're in the area, you must try. It's located in the Record's shop.

Yelp
Located in 1800 lucky which is an Asian food hall in wynwood so it's a chill vibe. You order, pick a seat and retrieve food when the buzzer goes off. The cashier was nice and suggested I mix the honey and I think the spicy sesame sauce. Great suggestion. Only thing I would say is its not spicy. If you order anything from Yip which is also located in 1800 lucky save the chili oil and throw it on the wings for spice. The pork bao buns were absolutely delicious
google avatar

Dana M.

Yelp
They do wings just right. The crisp crunchy texture along with the sauce is finger licking good. The fried rice is also very fresh and great flavor. A must try

Yelp
Tanisha the GM was awesome!!! I had a wonderful time here. The space is outside and has a very communal feel. Large space seating, good for groups. There was even a dj there when we went, good vibes. There are a few different food vendors to pick from it just depends on what you are feeling. The crispy wing were everything!! Sushi also hit the spot!

Michael C.

Yelp
Just ordered takeout and was completely offended by what was brought to us. This is a $25 order of fried rice with pork and they could not even fill up the takeout container more than 60% for some effing rice. This place sucks.
google avatar

Marina D.

Yelp
Zero stars. The crispy chicken was $20 of terrible. The chicken tasted old, dry and greasy. The staff acted like they were doing me a favor looking up when I came to the register. This place has gone down hill.

Yelp
We were so excited to find an all Asian food hall and once inside, this place looked to have some tasty things on the menu. Covid-19: there's a large outdoor patio at the food hall that was pretty empty when we were there. We always order a little bit from several places when we go to food halls. Our choices here were the Spicy Sesame Crispy Wings and the Peking Duck Bao. Both were delicious. I loved the sauce on the wings and as advertised, they were nice and crispy. The bao buns were wonderful. They had a good amount of meat in them which I always love. Like the other places at the food hall, this place is a little pricey, but that's pretty standard for food halls. 1-800 Lucky is a must try in Miami in my opinion and this place is a good stop while you're there.

Yelp
Ordered shrimp fried rice and the shrimp came out raw/rubbery. When I asked if they could steam the shrimp longer, they said "we can fry them if you want". The food used to be great but it seems it has changed over the years.

Yelp
The stir fry udon is to die for! Very big portion - they give toymore steak/shrimp than udon!

Yelp
Cute place on the side of Wynwood area and great music to listen to. I felt bad that we came close to closing (didn't know what time they were closing) but we ordered two baos. I can tell the register ladies were ready to leave but had to wait for all the orders come out first before they have to leave. We got Peking duck bao and pork belly bao. Peking duck bao taste better than the pork belly bao. Peking duck bao's skin was crispy. It wasn't too fatty. Just right. The pork belly bao was pretty fatty. Not much meat compared to the fat. Baos are kinda pricey but again almost everything in wynwood is kinda pricey. I would order the Peking duck again and try some other things.

Yelp
Sadly my search of a great Chinese restaurant in miami still goes on. The speciality dumplings are a rip off- $3.33 each dumpling for a dried out meat filling and stale wonton wrapper. Cheeseburger wontons The missed 1/2 of the order and sent other items incorrect. The shrimp dumplings were good, but at 3.33 a dumpling they should be amazing. General tsao was dry and not so tasty. What a let down for Sunday dinner. Thx for Fireman Derek's pie to Mae it worth while

Yelp
Love coming here to eat any time I'm craving Chinese food. Food is full of flavor and fresh. Their duck and chicken are two of my favorites. Make sure you try their sweet & sour chicken. It's a must. Their fried rice is as good as any I've tried in the area as well. And if you're not in a mood for a beer from the bar, you can't go wrong with any of the teas they offer.

Yelp
Came to 1-800lucky this afternoon for some food and drinks. Got the fried rice, crispy wings and iced tea. It's been so long since I've had good fried rice. I'm not sure where the yellow rice with peas came from these take out restaurants offer now a days but this my friends - is real fried rice ! The rice was flavorful, with pork belly, scallions, onions, eggs, peas, carrots and baby ears of corn. They did not skimp on the pork belly either, lots of meat in my rice which was very nice! The wings were yum as well. There was something about the wings that I can't put my finger on. They weren't super crispy as if they were deep fried ... texture was almost like it was baked then maybe air fried for crispy exterior? The were 100% delicious don't get me wrong!!!! But if you're a texture person and looking for super crunchy/crispy wings then you may want to try something else. Otherwise 10/10 would recommend! Tanisha at the register was awesome ! Great energy and informative. Would love to go back and try more of what they have to offer.

Yelp
No water / won't serve but checkout prompt for tip? Half duck has a small portion of 6 pieces. Duck leg is small, if you tell me it's quail I would believe so. Wonton soup is "amazing" lots of noddle tossed in a couple wontons, I remember the menu says SOUP. And for wontons, trust me you find better options in any frozen wontons in Asia supermarket.
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
My sister and I both enjoyed the roasted duck- the skin was crispy and the meat was tender and savory with the sauce combined. Would recommend!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Got the chicken udon. Overall not bad. Not great but not bad. It was just a standard bowl. There was a decent amount of meat in but I want more flavor. More spice. More overall something to make it more of a memorizable dish. 3/5 would recommend to a friend

Yelp
Definitely one of the busiest spots within 1-800-Lucky! But it's obvious why. I'd like to think of them as a fancier mall food court Chinese food but without a doubt, the best you've ever had. Their General Tsao Chicken, WOW. Just keep em' comin'! Unfortunately the wait is a little long - trying to balance take out and delivery - so they give you pagers and such. Shout out to them for giving you a free drink (lemonade or sweet tea) as part of their Yelp check in perk. I ended up with two drinks, wassupppppp! Accidentally but I'm not complaining lol. Their fried rice was a little on the dried side and could've used a little more soy sauce. And unfortunately their Mongolian steak was more vegetables than steak (never fails) and that's actually one of the dishes that took forever to come out. Wings are fireeeeeeee tho!!! Make sure to get the teriyaki sesame, so effin' good.

Yelp
Went to visit the Wynwood area for night life and stumbled across this gem. I was thoroughly pleased. I ordered bbq ribs and fried rice. I didn't expect the portions to be so big so I ended having some left over. The ribs was nice and tender with a nice char to them. The fried rice wasn't stingy with the shrimp and very good. I highly recommend

Yelp
Went last Saturday for the first time with friends and tried the Pineapple Fried Rice, its delicious! Served on an actual Pineapple this friend rice is not only great but photogenic.
google avatar

Cristian G.

Yelp
Plain and simple, this place should be rated higher. Embarrassed to say I tried them for the first time until now at 1800 Lucky but it was delightful, I have truly been missing out. I'm all about trying new meals I haven't had before but I just might order the same exact entree next time I visit. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the sweet & sour chicken was amazing!
google avatar

Shane G.

Yelp
I love this place very much. The food is amazing, but lately it has come to my attention that its unavailable to order on Ubereats at 9pm or so. The schedule says the kitchen closes at 11pm however its not available to order via any apps. I find this very strange and once i try to call noone responds. Again i love this place but costumer service has failed me a couple of times.
google avatar

Ivan M.

Yelp
Ordered the Peking duck bao. What a complete disappointment!! I got such a thin slice of duck. It was like a slice of turkey sandwich meat. It was literally that thin. Also the bao/bun could not have been fresh. Poor taste and way over priced. I saw a YouTube video and was so excited to try it. Save yourself then trouble.
google avatar

Jeidi M.

Yelp
First time here and i loved it! the Food was fresh took a little while to make but it was worth the wait. You must try the duck Bao buns, the wings and the mixed fried rice! Delicious! The Udon noodles were a little too salty. I would definitely return for the duck bao buns

Yelp
Julio at Doral gives us great service as always. Very professional, yet with a great sense of humor. Definitively as asset to your restaurant.

Steve L.

Yelp
SHAME ON YOU! Had a problem with the Pembroke Pines location and went to a lot of trouble attempting to reach out to you, about a Manager that actually yells at your customers over minor situations. I thought you cared enough when you had an employee take a detailed message. You did not follow up....in Pembroke Pines your food was cold....hope it's hot in Wynwood.

Michael S.

Yelp
Food is very expensive and does not have any taste. Both the spicy sesame chicken and chicken fried rice is lacking in flavor. Very bland and very disappointed.
