Goldberg's Famous Bagels

While this is part of the Goldberg's Famous Bagels chain, this store has good bagels although not the best that we had while we were in Long Island. My benchmark is an everything bagel and I have to say that these folks make a really good everything seasoning blend. The bagels themselves are good but not spectacular. The crust was OK, but not crackly and crumb was a little too doughy and not chewy enough. The egg and bacon and the HOBO sandwiches were otherwise very tasty and enjoyable. Certainly a good bagel and will go again.

I got something I didn't ask for with my order (I think I paid for it) we ate it anyway it was pretty good. The bagels could have been toasted alittle darker, I thought it wasn't toasted at all when I bit into it but then I saw a very feint light brown on the edge of the bagel so it must have been toasted just not enough for me. I'd still go here again, I'll just make sure everything is in order before leaving.

An absolutely fabulous roast beef sandwich, and my lady was able to have her bagels and lox with cream cheese. The staff there could not be more friendlier. Great hard-working people. Kudos to them all. I had my stacked roast beef bagel sandwich, and piled with meat and it was yummy

The food is wonderful, but the staff is what really sets Goldberg’s apart. By NOFO standards, it is a good value too. All around, I highly recommend. Expect a long line and lots of people coming in to grab their phone orders.

This bagel, you guys! It's so, so good. Soft and a great texture, not overly chewy like some bagels. We got the bacon/egg/cheese bagel and it was pretty much perfection. After ordering, I learned they made a French toast bagel and wish we had gotten an extra to take home with us!

Warning not for people with gluten allergies. I ordered a gluten free bagel that was dry, burnt and without flavor, they refused a refund on a bagel that costed me $7.99 (cream cheese is $5.99). The farm fresh omelet was barely edible and came without the advertised avocado they refused to fix just refunded $2 for the avocado. The hash browns were McDonald’s quality and shockingly flavorless. I paid over $27 dollars for a breakfast that was mediocre at best but totally inedible if you like quality food. I suggest going somewhere else if you want good food.

Friend: "Hey Brad, have you ever had a bacon, egg, and cheese?" Me: "Nope, but I know it's a New York right of passage, bring it on." I've always heard about how good the New York deli style bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches are and spoiler alert, they are truly delicious and the one that was sent my way was from Goldberg's. The roll was perfect and I'm told that it's really the only way to get it for my first time. Soft and pillowy, hugging the ingredients that didn't overload the bread itself. It was perfect. Not too big, not too small, basic ingredients, but done well. I know the places that serve these culinary staples are a dime a dozen and I don't know where Goldberg's stands in the lineup of best to worst, but if it only gets better from here, I'm in good shape.

Really good bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Exactly what you would expect for an authentic NY joint. French toast bagel was sticky but phenomenal. Got a sausage egg and cheese on it and it was one of the better breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. And I've had a lot. Coffee is their weak point. My iced coffee had a ton of grounds in the bottom which is very frustrating when you unsuspectingly take a big sip of it. Hot coffee is okay but they have big serve yourself jugs and the best flavor was empty when I was there the other time. All in all that makes this place a solid 4.25. But yelp won't let me give that precise of a rating so it's a 4.

My first visit to Long Island! On a March morning, we landed off the ferry and immediately needed breakfast. Parking downtown was very easy. At 8am on off season, there wasn't anyone in sight. They had a huge menu inside. It was a tough choice but we decided for the Spicy Hobo and Bacon, Egg and Cheese both on salt bagels. I feel like I never get to see salt bagels anymore so it was an easy choice. I also saw the cucumber dill smear and I am OBSESSED with anything dill so I also ordered a pumpernickel with the cucumber dill as a later treat. So we ate the breakfast sandwiches fresh. Absolutely loved them. And the salt bagels were generously salted, boy was I thirsty haha Spicy Hobo has a hash brown inside and that was amazing. I ate the pumpernickel cucumber dill hours later and it held really well on the car ride. Overall, would go back!

Goldebergs taste so damn good the fries are so damn delicious and crunchy and flavorful not to seasoned it's perfect they got a good drink selection the chicken tenders are Also crisp and crunchy I recommend the tenders and fries they're perfect

Good stop for a quick breakfast! I got the sausage egg and cheese on an everything "flagel" (flat bagel) which was very filling! Comes with two eggs which is very much appreciated. Service was friendly and sandwiches were less than a 10 min wait. We enjoyed the outdoor seating as well!

Great selection of bagels and a variety of cream cheeses. Quality of the bagels is just about the beds I've ever had. Egg sandwiches are delicious.

Quality, service, and selections offered are all five star . Delicious bagels . A must visit when in Greenport!

We ordered two everything bagels with cream cheese. My husband and I both agree these were subpar, texture and taste not even close to most NY bagels. As a born and raised NY'er, I don't get the hype for this place.

Delicious breakfast sammies! From out of town and neeeeeeded a good hungover sandwich and they delivered! Got a bacon egg and cheese, with salt pepper and ketchup on a Kaiser roll and it was the bomb. Heading back tomorrow before we head out!

Food is so fresh!!!!! Real nice staff!!!! Always real clean establishment!!!! Don't pass up enjoying a delicious breakfast or lunch at this place!!!!

The everything bagels have the perfect amount of seeds on them. They have a wide range of cream cheese flavors. I chose the cucumber dill which is one I had never seen before and it was awesome! They have a great selection of bagel sandwiches and sandwiches! Definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting greenport

I ate both bagels. Yes, both the strawberries & cream + BEC bagel. ZERO regrets! If ONLY I could have fit more into my belly, I would have We only had 2 mornings in Greenport. Guess where we went after the first morning, back to Goldberg's. Sadly for us, the line was too long We had to catch the LIRR back into the city! I will be back. I willlllll be back!!!

Great bagels and fast service with classic small town vibes - recommend requesting your bagel toasted.

Crunchy crunchy yummy Everything Bagel did ok when someone just before me had bought out all the flagels. There is no way not to update this review to 5 stars for this bagel with delicious multi seeds and fresh lox spread. Lox spread not nearly as good as Mattituck Goldbergs which is the best on the east end (more lox) but the bagels are better. Greenport Goldbergs has reliable great New York bagels on the east end.

Amazing, fresh, chewy bagels. I moved to Chicago from nyc 5 years ago and have been missing NY bagels, so I was delighted to find Goldbergs while out on the North Fork for a friend's wedding. They have all of the classic flavors and tons of spreads. If you're going for whitefish, make sure you go early because they ran out by 9am (on a Saturday)!

Perfect chewy NY bagel! If you love lox like I do, definitely get it with the cucumber dill scheamer - delish! Portions are very generous and they don't skimp on the condiments.

Great spot for breakfast sandwiches and delicious bagels with all kinds of spreads - call ahead during off-peak hours, but during the weekend rush they may not answer so you're better off popping in and waiting on the line (which moves along pretty quickly). That being said, I'm a big fan of their cheeseburger lunch special - it's not your standard 5-star burger, but set inside of a modest kaiser roll, the cheeseburger is tasty, juicy, and comes with a side of crispy fries that have a lovely crunch. I would say to think of a great diner-style burger, and if that excites you then give goldberg's cheeseburger a chance. I'll add a photo for reference next time I visit!

Coming from NYC (best bagels imo) these really hit the spot. I've had Goldberg's BEC before and didn't love them. I think the move is to just get a huge bagel butter cream cheese spread. So good!

Our food was amazing, fast, and I have no words other then "it was grrrrreat!!!! Golderbergs bagels are tasty, their bacon is delish, and I 100000000% recommend!!

Many Goldberg options on North and South Forks, including in Montauk. We picked up a bag of bagels and fragels for the extended family vacation breakfast in Greenport, before doing the ferries to Shelter Island. Tip: did get the cream cheese at IGA instead of paying the fortune for theirs. Though their blended cream cheeses looked amazing! My favorite was the everything fragel. We toasted them. Cream cheese and fresh tomato slices. Now that is vacation breakfast. Back to berries only this week!

The bagels are EXCEPTIONAL! I would highly recommend ordering in advance if you can to pick it up. We ordered a platter for 11 of mixed bagels and various spreads, and it was devoured! The only thing that dropped this review to 4 out of 5 stars was that at 8:30 AM, we ordered sandwiches for lunch to pick up 2 hours later. The sandwiches had not even begun preparation at 10:30 when we arrived and so it was delayed by another hour. That experience wasn't great, and the sandwiches themselves were not great either. I think their expertise is bagels, for sure.

Ignore the poor reviews. These are the quintessential NY bagel. Crunchy outside. Chewy inside. They have your standard flavors with a couple of unique spins to their smears but nothing crazy. Everything you need for a delicious breakfast before you go stomping around Greenport for the day. - Vicki

Placed a $200 catering order for a wedding party 7 AM pick up, brought it to the venue to find out there were no napkins, knives, or plates included. When I went back they refused to give any plates or knives for cream cheese and told me to go to IGA to purchase. Meanwhile they handed out a plate to a costumer next to me who ordered 1 bagel. Employee claimed she told my wife that plates and utensils are not included with catering orders but that did not occur when the order was placed.

Wonderful bagels, with a crisp outer crunch and tender chewy middle. We tried the olive/pimiento as well as the veggie cream cheese. Both were exceptionally creamy and loaded with the goodies. I bought an extra dozen bagels and froze them to take back home to Maine with us!

A stupidly long line for a subpar bagel served by an arrogant and rude staff. Save your time and go next door to the Stirlington Deli. They need to go to NYC to see how a real bagel store works.

Legit bagel spot ! Delicious bacon, egg and cheese on toasted plain bagel. They also offer "flagels" ( flattened bagels ). A definite must if you're in Greenport !

I find the staff very helpful and friendly. Being a big fan for years at Tals bagels and Essa bagels when a lived in NYC, Goldberg's whitefish ,lettuce and tomato on an everything bagel is my favorite.

This is one of the only "on the go" breakfast spots we could find in Greenport. The food is casual but hearty and delicious. Our large group had a mix of breakfast sandwiches and omelettes and everyone left satisfied. They have a huge refrigerator of every possible cold drink you can imagine! I couldn't find much online presence for this place and was hesitant to try but it really was a delicious and easy choice for a quick breakfast downtown.

If you are missing a bagel and a schmear while you are out on the North Fork, Goldberg's will not only scratch that itch but make you wish they were in your neighborhood back in NYC! The bagels are fresh and that perfect mix between hard and soft. They'll make you a breakfast sandwich, and even a full breakfast, but most people I saw were eating bagels. The coffee is serviceable. Really, it's the bagels that are the draw here.

Consistently good, NYC style bagels. Good cold drink selection. BLT on a bagel is classic and so so good.

The older gentleman never wears gloves. I've watched him slice meat without gloves, touch & make bagels & also pick egg shells out eggs. Never seen him wash his hands, on numerous occasions. I always ask the other girls to make my food.

We've had our summer home in Greenport for 18 years now and have seen many businesses come and go. We were more than thrilled to see Goldberg's come to town and have to say we are overjoyed with their food and service. Hope to see this business stick around for years to come. Some of our favorites- Their everything bagels- if you like a salty everything this is the place for you! Scallion cream cheese- to die for!! The breakfast sandwiches- so hard to pick just one!! Love the hobo.

Bagels here are excellent!! Even better than some places in the city. Locals who think they know bagels usually don't have a clue how good this place is. On weekends I bring a half dozen back to friend in queens who thinks they're the best! The place can get insanely crowded on a weekend but that should tell you something. Keep it up Chris, Keith, and company!

Great food! I did have to wait and watch about six people come in and out while I waited for my order for two. But that said, they were very busy which says a lot and I would go back again if I lived there!

Really delicious everything bagels - place was very clean and neatly organized. They had some local extras to go with the standard bagel shop items. We regretted not buying a few more for the road!

Amazing looking bagels - big and doughy... just like I like them! Tuna and egg salad are amazing, also, as is the lox spread. Unfortunately they were out of coffee when we go there, but otherwise they are legit and not to be missed!

We had lox on an everything bagel with onion and tomato and an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Good texture and flavor on the bagels and the lox were delicious. They had fast service and limited outdoor seating. Would have given 5 stars, but they forgot to toast the bagel with cream cheese. Overall very good and would have again.

Greenport, NY On 9.6.21 I placed and paid for an order and waited as it was prepared. There was a fairly long line of customers, so I stepped aside and waited. While I waited, I observed a staff member drop a bagel on the floor. She picked up the bagel and put it on one of two sheet pans that are under the bagel baskets, there I assume to collect seeds from the bagels in the baskets on the shelves above. My initial thought was that seeds are probably reused which would have been fine in my mind, but after the bagel, that fell on the floor, was placed on the sheet pan I hoped my assumption was incorrect. So, I wondered, why wasn't the bagel thrown away. I figured maybe they feed birds or something. Well, shortly thereafter, another staff member, picked up the bagel from the sheet pan (the same one that fell on the floor) and used it to fulfill an order. I will not be returning to this establishment. Sorry, your bagels are good, but your commitment to the health and safety of your customers is non-existent.

Good food for a decent price in Greenport. I recommend the egg sandwich on a bagel. The bacon is really nice and crispy, much better than the egg sandwiches at Patriot Gas. 100x better to be honest.
