We came here on a Sunday morning at around 9 am. Parking at that time was easy to get right in front of the restaurant. There were customers at only 5 tables when we arrived. Even then, it took about a minute before one of the dining room employees acknowledged we were there, gesturing toward the dining area indicating that we could sit at any table, then she brought menus to us soon after we sat down.
Lots of tables inside. Some tables were outside, but I'm not sure if servers will provide service outside. There is a very busy deli area where customers can walk in (or call in), order and do take out. It looked like the deli employees were very quick and efficient. Deli items in the cases looked very good. Some of the items were fresh and ready to eat, like salads, while other items were deli meats and cheeses that were just waiting to be sliced on demand. There were also prepared frozen foods that customers could take home and heat up to save themselves preparation time.
Our server was just ok during the time we were at Goldbergs. She was nice, but neither quick nor efficient. It took her a few minutes to get to our table in spite of an almost empty restaurant; before she arrived, I saw her talking to someone in the kitchen. I ordered eggs Benedict with bacon, and latkes. R ordered Nova on Bagel, smoked salmon served with cream cheese, red onions, tomatoes and capers, and wanted it on an Everything bagel. This came with a side, and he chose fresh fruit. He also ordered a side of over easy eggs.
15 minutes after we ordered, our food arrived. R's eggs were hot, and he said that all of his food was good. However, I quickly found out my eggs Benedict food was barely warm and the latkes were cold, but had to wait a few minutes for our server to come back around so that I could tell her. She quickly took the plate back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later, hot food was served. The eggs Benedict was hot, but the hollandaise sauce completely lacked flavor. The latkes were hard throughout and definitely overcooked.
This was a not so good food experience for me.
