Golden Buddha Restaurant

This is the Golden Buddha chicken and it’s amazing. I could instantly tell that the restaurant staff and the ownership took pride in the restaurant. I figured if they would name a dish after the establishment they would make it good. I was correct! It was fried to crispy perfection, and on the inside it was tender and juicy. It was spicy, but not too spicy. The sauce was so delicious and flavorful. It seemed very authentic. Maybe the best Chinese food I have ever had. The portions were huge, but it was so good I ate it all. My girlfriend’s beef lo mein was also very good. The beef was very high quality. Very tender and flavorful. I can’t wait to visit again

Very elaborate decorations which did make for a nice atmosphere. Quantity of food was very good, more than one meals worth, so value for the money is very good quality of food is a solid 4. Meaning most people will enjoy their dinners and a few picky people will not. I do suggest this restaurant for military veterans having to use the Atlanta VA, for a nice reasonable priced restaurant for lunch and dinner.

We ordered to go food off their special/limited menu on Christmas Day. The potstickers were dry and doughy. The sweet and sour chicken was absolutely inedible, chewy, so dry and covered in a lot of flavorless breading. The only two things we were able to eat were the white rice and the chicken fried rice. The staff is always so nice here and they are quick and efficient but the food has been declining a lot.

good ambience, delicious and expedient food, attentive service. i ordered the dinner for 1. the portion was quite large, so i know what im having for dinner tomorrow. the broth in the egg drop soup was extremely flavorful and thick. the egg roll was packed to the brim with flavorful and juicy pork. the chicken was hot and crispy. the sauce couldve used a littlz salt but thats barely a complaint. the waitress was kind and didnt check up too often or too litlle. great service. will definitely return.

Peaceful with good food and GREAT service. I got the mixed vegetables with tofu in light sauce. The tofu default is steamed. I like less fried. The price was refreshing after Atlanta prices. $12 at 3 pm.

The main dish of tofu and vegetables was very bland and adding the soy sauce did not help the flavor at all. The tofu was tasteless and mushy with zero flavor. The spicy soup was tasty but too salty and I’m a salt lover. The fried egg roll was good. The service was good and the staff very hospitable but I won’t be back due to the low quality of the food.

I don’t usually dine in this town, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I arrived, the parking lot was nearly empty, and there was construction going on next door. The exterior looked quite unremarkable, so my expectations were low. However, as soon as I stepped inside, my perception completely changed. The restaurant had sample dishes beautifully displayed as decoration, instantly giving off an authentic Chinese restaurant vibe. I soon discovered that this place was a local favorite. We ordered soup, dumplings, vegetable delight, fried rice, and their famous chicken. The service was attentive, and the prices were reasonable, making for an overall great dining experience.

The fried rice, wonton soup & hot & sour soup were very odd tasting for such standard American Chinese dishes. Figured they'd be a safe bet but none of the 3 of us dining finished even half of our food. Way better options in this area. Of of the diners in my group was a 9year old who eats pretty much everything but even she was not having the soup or rice. If a 9year old wont eat the food, you shouldn't either.

Everything i had was trash Seemed like they just warmed the food up in a dirty microwave egg rolls trash fried rice trash lo mein trash orange chicken wasn't even edible. don't waste your money here

I have ordered delivery from here a few times. Great portions and always fresh. Their pork fried rice is amazing!! It's hard to find really good pork fried rice with the bbq pork, they make it so well. I accidentally chose to make my fried rice spicy with my online order. I love spicy, but not on my fried rice. I prefer to add their house made hot mustard - which is equally amazing. They have healthy options too which are great with fresh vegetables and steamed chicken that I love.

It's been a new year tradition to eat at Golden Buddha. We opted for delivery from the restaurant. We ordered online from the website. Our food arrived ahead of schedule and presented at the perfect temperature. Golden Buddha prepares their chicken wings unique to any other restaurant and our cravings for them were satisfied with this meal. We also ordered the chicken egg foo Yung as a change. It was an incredibly large portion and well worth the menu price. The Mongolian Beef was also delicious and consistent with golden Buddha quality. We might even visit for lunch time soon. We love this restaurant

Local mom and pop Chinese restaurant (a bit Koreanized) with over 50 years of history. Very spacious and traditional Chinese restaurant vibe. Great service and very delicious food. Highly recommend this restaurant. They also have a Koreanized Chinese menu. I strongly recommend the sizzling rice soup! Very delicious chicken soup with crunchy rice topping. Very big portions, so strongly recommend for a big party to share multiple entries and share family style for a full experience. Free parking lot.

We went to Golden Buddha Restaurant for lunch. I got Sweet & Sour Shrimps & Scott got Mongolia Beef. We also got wonton soup, hot & sour soup & egg rolls. We really enjoyed our food there. The waitress was very helpful. We will go back!

By far the worse Chinese-American takeout I've had in ATL. Picked up on a Monday evening. Not busy. Can't really comment on the service. We had the chicken lo mein, chicken and broccoli and an egg roll. Both the entrees were bland and mushy. Seems as though everything was overcooked. Also lacked flavor. The eggroll was brown on the inside. Made me feel like it was old. We ate out of hunger because it was late and everything else was closed atp. But never again. The food was really bad here.

Found a zip tie in my moo-shoo. Moo-shoo was good but the zip tie was a bit awkward. Be careful if you're not into eating plastic.

Service was prompt, it wasn't very busy (we went around 2:00pm on a Saturday). Peking ribs were flavorful and tender. They sat on a bed of shredded cabbage, a couple pineapples, and a maraschino cherry. I also had a small fried rice that was not pictured. The vegetable lo mein was also very tasty; the veggies were crisp.

I didn't want to be the person who did an extreme Yelp review, but there is no chance I am giving this place a second chance. My boyfriend at the time had the Moo Shu Gai Pan and got sick after. Personally, I thought the food was just too heavy and salty. I took a class on Asian American Studies when I was a junior at Emory University, where we learned about the story of Chinese-American food. This restaurant felt straight out of my readings for class. As a Chinese person, this was just disappointing

We stopped in for lunch during the week.  It was an overall good experience.  The lunch includes a soup, egg roll, and your meal.  We enjoyed the egg drop soup over the hot and sour soup.  We mixed them for the perfect balance.  We ordered the shrimp and lobster sauce and the shrimp with mixed vegetables.  Both meals were good but we have had better, and there were plenty of shrimp.  We will try other meals with a bit more spice next time.  The lunch was around $11 a meal.  We would return.  Service was great.  They were so cute dressed in their buttoned up shirts and bow ties.

My vegetables and bean curd dish tasted like a bag of frozen vegetables were steamed, the bean curd cut off a block of tofu and not cooked, with garlic powder the only seasoning. I couldn't eat it. I will say that my husband ordered the General Tso's chicken and it was pretty good. Although it was supposed to be spicy, but was not.

Nothing special. I don't understand how this place continues serving mediocre Chinese food. Guess GA folks don't know any better.

Maybe we got the wrong dishes, but it was overall very disappointing in terms of the flavors. The food came out hot and quickly with good service and there is lots of seating inside.

My go-to Chinese delivery, consistently tasty, and well-packaged. I have also dropped into the restaurant to pick up an order and the owners were so incredibly friendly, terrific service.

This place has been around forever and has so much charm. When you walk in you get to walk past a bunch of resin menu replicas in the window. The atmosphere is straight up old school Chinese restaurant, feels like walking back into childhood. Service is fast and polite. The waiters wear white bow ties, so cool. Food comes out quick. Mu shu vegetables is a must try if you're vegetarian. Already can't wait to go back.

Best Chinese food around! Quick delivery and pickup. Can't compare to other Chinese restaurants, Golden Buddha always gets it perfect.

The worst Chinese-American food I've ever had. Friday Night. We decided to stay in and order take out and watch a movie. First time eating food from this restaurant. And the last. Here's what our food was like: Steamed Dumplings: Chewy and raw dough outside. Didn't eat more than a bite. Ginger Beef: Brown thick gravy poured over undercooked, rare sliced beef with tasteless strips of ginger that were likely from a can. Is that even a thing? Mushroom Chicken: Small 1/2" flour-coated/sautéed pieces of processed chicken bites with the exact same brown thick gravy as the Ginger Beef. More mushrooms than chicken. Disgusting. Rice: They charge extra for rice. We opted for the brown rice ($3 for small container) which was not edible. Dry and hard. As if it were cooked a week ago then stored in the fridge. How do you mess up rice? The worst part is that we paid $70 for two entrees and an appetizer. It was a big splurge for a Friday night in. Shocked that this place stays in business! Honestly it's the absolute worst food experience I've ever had in Atlanta in the 35 years we have lived here.

Another good visit to Golden Buddah. We've been coming here for years, so I can say they might not be the best, but they are very consistent. Everything we ordered came out quick, hot and tasty. Spicy shrimp dish could've been little more spicy. You don't come here for service people, you go here for the food.

Food was bad bad bad. Wasted money.!!!! The noodle was overcooked. It sticks together. The sauce was not fresh. We couldn't eat.

I walked in with my husband. The smell was tremendous. Instantly I'm ready to eat. It's got low music and feels romantic. Then the food came. Didn't take too long. So so good. Best sweet and sour shrimp I've ever had. It was crispy. Perfect balance of batter and shrimp. The servings were a great size. The fried rice was an additional 2.50 which sucked. The waitress was attentive. I will definitely be back.

Food was gross, flavorless mush. Probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Ate 1 plate, threw the rest away.

I'm going to make this simple: Order the Empress chicken. It will stink up your clothes, you're likely not gonna have anyone in your vicinity desire to have carnal relations with you and you may shart yourself the next day but good lord Mother Mary of Jesus, it's delicious.

Yo. Do you want great Chinese food and a bunch of it? Golden Buddha is pretty much the go-to for this side of the city. I honestly cannot imagine going anywhere else. This is like a step above mall Chinese food, but not over-the-top fancy. The tradition American/Chinese favorites are there, but there's also an air of authenticity that is great. Dining in is fantastic. Always great service, kitschy decor, and never a wait. Delivery is on-point, well packaged, and still hot. My go-to is egg fu young, but I'd recommend grabbing that in the restaurant. It's a heavy but delicate dish best served piping hot. Great egg rolls, soups, fried rice, every kind of chicken, beef, and pork imaginable. Never had the seafood options but I'm sure they're great. Kudos to the owners. They've been a staple of our community for a long time now and are well loved to boot.

Not your typical Korean-Chinese restaurant. It still has your usual dishes jjajangmyeon (black soy bean noodles), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), mapo tofu, and kkanpoongki (garlic fried chicken). But they are unique. Their jjajangmyeon has a mix of pork and seafood (usual ones have a pork base). I wasn't a big fan but maybe because I just like the simple pork base sauce. Their kkanppongki comes with huge pieces of chicken wings. This one is better than those at the typical Korean-Chinese restaurants. The sauce is a lot less sweet than the usual but still has great flavor. They also fry it perfectly! Crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside. They also have Chinese dishes (sesame chicken/beef, fried rice, etc.). My recommendations: kkanpoongki, sesame beef, and three seafood fried rice. Great combination to order and also my favorites. If you have more people, you can add mapo tofu. If you want the typical dishes like jjajangmyun, go somewhere else.

One of my and my wife's favorite places to eat in the area, either dine in or take out. I even had my parents over recently and they were lamenting the fact that they don't have any Chinese food near as good by them. Certain items we've consistently loved are the Golden Buddha chicken, the Empress chicken, Mongolian beef, and shrimp lo mein (basic but always good). My wife also always asks for kimchi and recommends it (I'm not a kimchi person myself). My dad also tried the braised chicken wings and enjoyed them. Portions are also quite generous (especially for dine in), and service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

I went in for eggrolls on Tuesday. I got them to go. The restaurant requires masks and has hand sanitizer readily available near the front door. The staff was pleasant, and even though the restaurant was busy, I was greeted quickly and my order was taken promptly. I received the eggrolls quickly, and they were hot. I bit into the first eggroll and it was a taste quite unpleasant and unfamiliar to me. The addition of soy sauce made the taste worse. The eggrolls were very vinegary and definitely not fresh. I've tried this place a couple times, but the food always tastes old (or like they don't change the oil) and not fresh. I'm not sure how it was so busy on Tuesday evening (loyal customers? Even if it were the only place in town, I wouldn't be able to stomach eating here).

This Korean-Chinese restaurant is very homey and authentic. The jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk were both excellent and filling. Everything is served with large portions, perfect for family style sharing. Service was pleasant.

I was really surprised how good this place was. I have given up on Chinese food in Atlanta, because every time I have a bad experience. Somehow we ended up ordering takeout for Mother's Day and it did not disappoint. Will be returning.

To go fried rice, haven't eaten there in many years when I worked in the area. Was good and will try again especially because so many other places went down post pandemic, but the quality was good, and I will return.

For many, Golden Buddha is an Atlanta institution. It's OG, for sure. One thing I've learned about this particular location, on Clairmont Road in Decatur, is that it's very popular among the Korean and Korean American community in Atlanta. It's also generally well-liked by people who went to Emory (nearby) and folks who live/work in the area. I'm not sure what the whole history is behind the Golden Buddha restaurants in metro Atlanta. In the early 2000s, when I was a student at Georgia Tech, the now-closed Lee's Golden Buddha #7 on Cobb Parkway in Smyrna was one of my favorite restaurants: https://bit.ly/35AkCXc. I'm pretty sure I liked it so much because they used a lot of MSG (and I suspect that's the case here). Along with this location, the only other Golden Buddha restaurant that I can think of that's still open today is the one on Roswell Road in Buckhead: https://bit.ly/2KWkmIx. That location is attached to Mo Mo Ya, a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant. It would be interesting to know the background behind this brand and how each restaurant seemed to evolve in its own way over the years. If the Smyrna location was #7, then it sounds like there were several at one point. This Decatur location is special because it's known for its Korean Chinese menu. This business isn't the only one to specialize in this type of cuisine in metro Atlanta. There are a handful of restaurants on Buford Highway and in Gwinnett County that offer the same type of stuff, but I think Golden Buddha is perhaps the oldest and most beloved. One of my Korean American friends, who used to work in the restaurant industry in Atlanta, thinks this restaurant has the best Korean Chinese food in the world and says it's even better than the Korean Chinese food in Korea (!). For several Korean American and other Asian American people I know, this is their go-to spot for Korean Chinese. Whenever one of my friends goes with her husband, her husband always bumps into someone he knows. There's also the camp that isn't aware this specific Golden Buddha is known for its Korean Chinese menu (that used to be me) and who've only ordered off the Chinese and Chinese American menus. I think that's one reason why you might see reviews all over the map for this place. At the time of writing this review, this restaurant has a 3.5-star average rating with 387 reviews. I think that's fair. Golden Buddha is what I would consider an old-school, traditional American Chinese sit-down restaurant, though I believe they're still only doing takeout at this time due to COVID-19. I ordered several of the Korean Chinese staples: * 15. Soy Bean Noodle ($11.95) - jajangmyeon * 16. Seafood Noodle Soup ($11.95) - jjamppong - spicy, with seafood and pork * 30. Empress Chicken (large, $23.95) - kkanpunggi - spicy garlic fried chicken, hot and sweet * 38A. Sweet and Sour Pork (large, $21.95) - tangsuyuk * Kimchi - complimentary Overall, the food ranged from OK/good to great. The only item that was just OK to me was the Sweet and Sour Pork; everything else was delicious. Surprisingly, the Sweet and Sour Pork improved and tasted better to me as leftovers. I highly recommend the Empress Chicken and Soy Bean Noodles. The Empress Chicken might be their most popular menu item. It's fantastic, a must-order. The Empress Chicken is Golden Buddha's version of Korean fried chicken. It's sweet, sticky, crispy, and mildly garlicky and spicy. Served bone-in, I suggest eating the chicken with your hands and really getting in there. It's super tasty. For many locals, this is *the* spot for jajangmyeon noodles. Jajangmyeon consists of thick wheat noodles with a dark sauce poured on top. The sauce is made with soy sauce and/or oyster sauce, protein (meat/seafood), and herbs. Golden Buddha's version contains seafood like shrimp and squid. The portions are generous. You can eat this dish however you want, but the customary way is by drowning your noodles in copious amounts of sauce and mixing it in really well so every noodle is covered. The sauce, as my friend likes to describe it, is dank. The Seafood Noodle Soup was nice and spicy. Golden Buddha's version normally comes with shrimp, squid, and pork along with vegetables. The broth is oily and a nice fiery orange color. Again, generous portions. If you're looking for a comforting soup that will heat you up, this will do the trick. You'll need a napkin. Our only issue with the Sweet and Sour Pork was the strips of battered pork were too tough and chewy. The sauce, which was thick and sugary, contained pickled cucumbers, carrots, and other veggies. This dish, with its fried pork and rich, heavy sauce, reminded me of Americanized Chinese food (e.g. Panda Express). If they don't offer kimchi, be sure to ask for it. Admittedly, this isn't healthy food, but it's nice to indulge every once in a while. Maybe add beer or Coke to round it out. Service was excellent. They're on top of things and operate like a well-oiled machine.

Due to covid the restaurant will not allow dine-in. When you pull up to the restaurant you'll see huge signs on the building requesting that you park and call in your order. You can pay by card over the phone , or by cash when the hostess delivers your order. I ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice. It was ok, I did appreciate the amount of rice they gave me. They're also very generous with the number of shrimp the give you. The taste of the shrimp was the best part of the meal.

Probably one of the best chinese-korean places out there at the moment. They definitely beat out Yen Jing in terms of business and location, but their food isn't as good. They seem to have 4-5 key dishes. The empress chicken is one, along with the black bean noodles and seafood noodle soup. Recently, we used Postmates to get the food delivered contact free due to covid-19. The food came hot and plentiful. The empress chicken was a huge serving, and came in a different container. We suspect that's because of the bone in pieces, plus it seems to be a premium dish at Golden Buddha. It's probably the most popular dish there. It's never a miss! The chicken lo mein was normal. This is where Yen Jing beats them out with their fresh noodles! Nothing too special about the lo mein at GB though. Lastly, we had the schezuan chicken. It is not the traditional Szechuan style, but it was spicy an sweet, which was unusual. The chicken pieces were also fried which was unusual but the dish itself was really tasty.

What a really big disappointment. I order #32, Snow White Chicken. What a joke. It was tasteless. This is the worst Moo Goo Gai Pan I have ever had. I should have ordered just veggies. There was hardly any chicken in it compared to a year ago when I last ordered. I have to tell you, they lost a customer for sure. Plus, I don't appreciate the guy sitting on his rump talking to me like he did. I am a well-educated person and don't need to be talked to like he did to me. Yuck food. I should have learned the last time I ate there. This place USED to be great years ago and slowly got worse. What gets me the most, I had to pay over 17 dollars for this stuff they can Moo Goo Gai Pan.

The service was great. The hot and sour soup was delicious. However all four of our entrees left A LOT to be desired. We ordered the Golden Buddha Fried rice, braised chicken wings, chicken fried rice, and Mongolian pork and they were all subpar. I would not return nor would I recommend it to anyone. The servers were very kind though.

Wonderful restaurant. I have been going to this restaurant for years and this establishment is always the same. Food is Reliable to be served hot, have a good flavor and in abundant supply.

Yuckkkkkk. I'll never be back here. This is not fried rice. General tso was 0/10 at best.

Food is always a win here. I always get their golden buddha chicken and every-time it's just the way I remember it when I first tried it. I also love their Shrimp Fried Rice. Its super fresh, as if they just got the shrimp off the boat and the eggs were scrambled right then and there.

This food was awful. Mainly they sold me a chow mein that had no noodles... when I called to give them the opportunity to fix their mistake. They said they don't put noodles in their chow mein...? What? Chow mein is noodles... I thought. Food was bad, service was worse. I won't be ordering here again.

We've been coming to Golden Buddha for over a decade and it's always been our go-to Chinese comfort food. We love the General Tso's chicken, Mongolian beef, and sesame chicken. The pot stickers are also crispy and delicious. The oolong tea is perfect on a rainy, gray winter day. The sauces taste better than the generic sauces you get at most (Americanized) Chinese restaurants. We've recently lived in LA and Salt Lake City and have yet to find Chinese food as good and comforting as Golden Buddha. Just came back after being away 3 years and it's better than anywhere we've been since we moved. We hope to find a place that hits the spot like Golden Buddha out west, but till then we will just have to keep wishing we lived closer.

We were/are so impressed by the food here! I can't believe we only just found this place. This is also what I love about the diversity of Atlanta - you can find Korean Chinese food. I thought that was only a thing in Korea, but thankfully it transcends continents! I knew my husband really missed good jjampong and jajangmyeon, and I heard how famous they are for their Empress Chicken, so we decided to make this our Saturday post hike lunch stop. Everything we ordered was great, even the side of complimentary kimchi reminded us very much of "restaurant style" kimchi in Seoul. We will definitely make this a regular lunch stop. The highlights: Sizzling Rice Soup - this is the flavor of your grandmother or mother's homemade chicken broth. It is light, flavorful, and reminds me of the soups in Korea that are known as "medicine" more so than food. The simple but memorable flavor definitely nourishes the soul. Gan jjampong - I will start by saying I wasn't a big fan of jjampong (soup version) when we lived in Korea, but this was next level. It is a saucy noodle and seafood dish, rather than a soup. The spice level is mild, but noticeable, and the flavor is slightly smoky like a good wok seared lo mein. Only minor complaint, it could've benefited from a little more seafood and the beards weren't removed from the mussels. Empress Chicken (6pcs) - holy mama!!! This was soooooooo good. It would have been epic with that sweet, spicy, garlicky sauce drizzled over a side of white rice, but is also excellent on its own. And it is a really fair amount for the price. I was initially worried about the bone-in aspect, as it gets messy to eat, but they came up with a genius way to basically butterfly/filet the meat so it not only soaked up the heavenly sauce but was super easy to cut off the bone. The Samsun (seafood) Fried Rice - this is only on the smaller Korean menu (same with the Gan jjampong). Packed with shrimp, scallops, and squid, this is also a must try. Super simple, with a little soy or chili sauce added, but very clean and delicious. Clean is actually a great word to describe not only the food, but the environment. Well done, Golden Buddha, even my super skeptical and picky Korean husband loved it!!

Very good takeout food. We've tried things such as the spring rolls, tofu with vegetables, Mongolian beef, and orange chicken.

I was really excited to see this place in my neighborhood because my old favorite Chinese food restaurant, one by the same name . I have visitors from out of town and I ordered enough food for six people and every single thing felt like it was frozen defrosted and then sent to the house like microwave food I could've bought in the supermarket. After that event, I tried it one more time because I know we just came out of the pandemic and I said, let me give it another chance same result

Food is bad. No flavor. Just bad. Don't eat here. Ever. Very, very, very, very bad. Go to Buford Highway. Or eat from the trash.

Food is always on point. Delicious, fresh and hot . I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is in the mood for some great Chinese food.

I first was introduced to Golden Buddha back in 2013 when a friend told me about the amazing dish of empress chicken I had to try. I did try it...it was delicious....I don't know why it took me 6 years to make my way back! Located off of Clairmont road just a couple of blocks from North Druid hills road, there's a decent amount of parking and some parking on the side of the building as well. There was a party of 3 of us when we dined in, and the food was just as good as I remembered! We ordered the following: Vegetable Lo mein ($10.95) Twice cooked pork ($12.95) Empress chicken - 12 pieces ($23.95) Beef with plum sauce ($14.50) Already, this was too much food for 3 people, so keep that in mind if you like (or don't like) left overs that some of these dishes come in smaller sizes (like the empress chicken for example). Speaking of the chicken, it was large, tangy, very slightly spicy, crispy and flavored well. Here's the thing...the empress chicken does not travel well, so keep that in mind, and maybe finish it first. Vegetable Lo mein was large, with nice chunks of veggies intermixed including brocolli, snap peas, carrot, mushroom and onion. The noodles were pretty good, and it ultimately got devoured. The twice cooked pork was the surprise of the dinner, as the pork came out very tender in thin slices and braised in a szechuan sauce. Great dish in terms of tenderness and flavor. Recommended Beef with plum sauce came with broccoli, green onion and peppers in a plum sauce. While the beef here was very tender, to me I think it looked better than it tasted. While not bad, this definitely wasn't my favorite dish and I probably wouldn't order it again. I'm not quite sure if it was due to the plum sauce or not. I really just was not a fan of this one. Complimentary rice family style and a side of kimchi came out to the table. Customer service was just fine as well. End of the day, I really enjoyed my time here at Golden Buddha. The sizes are large, the prices are fair and the flavors are fantastic. The food doesn't travel well for to go orders, so eating there may be your best bet for the best experience!

Ordered shrimp fried rice, potstickers and chicken and mushroom. The food was awful even the fortune cookie was awful. The shrimp in the fried rice were mushy, The fried rice had huge pieces of egg and absolutely no flavor. The chicken and mushroom was all mushroom and a few pieces of chicken it was terrible. The potstickers were not good either. I gave this place a chance wouldn't recommend it nor will I eat here again.

Having not paid it much mind before, my interest in dining at the Golden Buddha skyrocketed after I saw the movie I, Tonya, in which the established Chinese restaurant figures into a pivotal scene between two characters. If you haven't seen that movie, I recommend watching it--Margot Robbie and Allison Janney are stellar. It seemed as though the majority of the clientele were regulars and/or senior citizens. Guess when you've been around for decades, you tend to amass regulars. We were tended to by a nice waitress who presented us with both a Chinese menu and a Korean menu. We tried the following: *Chicken with plum sauce ($12.25). This dish was sweeter than we expected and not particularly plummy. It wasn't terrible, but I might not order it again.  *Black mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and snow peas ($9.95). I ordered this for some extra veggies and it ended up being a winner. Learned that black mushrooms are shiitake mushrooms. *Pan fried noodle ($13.95). We got this with beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. It sounded like you could pick just one too? Anyway, the crunchy noodles were the best part. It might've been our favorite dish of the three. Complimentary orange wedges and fortune cookies rounded out the meal. Gotta love a restaurant with its name on its dishes! There's plenty of parking in a lot out front. Left turns onto Clairmont Road can be challenging at certain times. It also appears that there's an overflow parking lot at the corner, with entrances on Clairmont and McConnell.  Golden Buddha was a pleasant surprise, and I'll keep it in mind for Chinese food needs when I'm not on Buford Highway.
