I tried this place for the first time on a Friday night. The food was ready right when they said it would be. The food was hot and tasted great. The portion sizes were very reasonable- a combo meal could easily feed two people or serve as leftovers for the next day. I will definitely come back! Plus, I love the Lego display on the wall. That was just a fun bonus for me.

A favorite since I was a kid I really hope they’re doing well, need to stop in for some fruits in time but I’m sure it’s still delicious

The food is hot and very tasty. This is not my first time going here. We try a different entree each time we go and it never disappoints!

Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the area!! Order sesame chicken and the chicken lo mein while staying in the area for work. Both items were excellent and I was very surprised how the order was ready in ten mins from when I called. The pork fired rice was perfect and the lo mein was one of the best I’ve had. Also the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back in the near future!!!

1st time customer, it's on a local main road, I got the lunch special pork lomein was delicious, it came with egg roll, that was also tasty but a bit greasy. All in all was a good lunch with left overs for the next day.

I have been ordering from the Golden China restaurant for a few weeks now. Today when we got our order we noticed they tacked on a $2 delivery fee without mentioning it at all to us or putting it on the menu. I called them and politely asked about it. They told me to hold on and I heard them talking behind my back saying how I was "yelling" at them. Finally the manager answers and gives me all kinds of excuses, saying other restaurants do the same thing and that they were talking about the delivery driver and not me. Delivery fees are fine. But telling a customer one total and then charging them a different total is fraud. I was just asking to be informed of all the fees before getting charged. They went back to the excuse of "other restaurants do it too". I explained that just because other restaurants committed fraud doesn't mean it's ok for you to. Then I hung up. As I mentioned I don't mind paying for service. But I want to be informed about what I'm paying for. I don't like being on the receiving end of "a fast one" or getting lied to. Honesty goes a long way. If they're willing to steal $2 then who knows what they're willing to do later on. I'm glad I pay with a one time use credit card number.

The online menu is terrible, not complete menu and too many customer reviews. Need food information for take out not how delicious it was!

I have been looking for a local Chinese food place since moving to the area, and this spot is amazing! The sesame shrimp was perfectly golden and flavorful. Their lo mein is also delicious. My husband loved their general tso's. The eggrolls were made really well too!

This review is not about their food. Be careful when ordering on their website. I selected delivery and entered my address but it didn't show up on their end. They call me after my food had been waiting for an hour to ask why I didn't pick it up yet. I said I was expecting delivery and they said the order didn't say that. I wish they had called sooner. Now I'm having cold Chinese food delivered.

Food was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. More of a take out than dine in restaurant.

I mistakenly called this restaurant thinking it was the other Golden Jade down the street. So I came here picked up my order and went home. Once I arrived home (6 minutes later) I noticed the sweet and sour is a jello substance and I opened the chicken and broccoli and it was ALL BROCCOLI!! I called them stating these two issues and she told me to put sweet and sour in microwave and told me she can't help me with my chicken and broccoli order. So do YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO THE ONE DOWN THE STREET WHICH IS CALLED Golden Jade 973-694-8534!

My favorite local Chinese spot closed down recently, and I was disheartened about losing my favorite reliable Chinese restaurant. I was sure it would take a while to find something that even came close. I work a few blocks from here and a co-worker highly-recommended it. First off, the place is spotless and the staff are kind. Food was prepared promptly and their ETA for pickup was spot-on. They are also Covid-safe, wearing masks, limiting customers, and a protective shield above the counter. Beef and broccoli was flavorful with fresh veggies and the meat cooked just right. The sauce was excellent. Same for the chicken and garlic. The portions were impressive for the price, with the container heaping with food. A family member raves about their egg foo young. Needless to say, I will be returning. I also believe I have a new Chinese spot. Recommended!

Definitely do not get the chicken and broccoli from here as it's disgusting and seems like it isn't real chicken. Very rubbery feeling and just overall nasty and flavorless

The Mei Fun is delicious, and the only reason they're getting two stars instead of 1. The general tso and Sesame chicken were terrible! They over cook their chicken so you're basically eating burnt meat. There was no true flavor either. They both tasted the same except they covered (excessively) the sesame chicken with sesame seeds. ATTENTION: they do not accept credit cards for delivery!!!

For what it is (fast casual classic Chinese takeout) the Golden China restaurant really comes through. Friendly efficient service, clean establishment , competitive pricing and great tasting food. I order takeout once a month for my family when craving Chinese food and we have yet to be disappointed.

Not so good. Basic chicken and broccoli... Chicken was not discernable as chicken and broccoli was not fresh/mushy. Pork fried rice bland and dried out. Even something as basic as an egg roll was off.

It's always hard to find a new Chinese take out place. My last one I had been going to for 10 years and then they changed owners. Boy am I happy they did because now I found this place on a recommendation for my neighbor. I have been here a half dozen times or more in the past 6 months so I can finally say yes this place is great! I have tried the shrimp and broccoli, the mayonnaise shrimp,boneless spareribs which are a little on the sweet side, pan fried wontons in a garlic sauce which have a great kick to them, wonton soup, shrimp mei fun and lo main. No complaints hereon any of the food I have tried. Friday nights they are packed which is a good sign but they should let you know you it won't be the normal 15/20 mins standard on pick-up. Had them deliver too and it was the food was hot and right on time. Prices seem comparable to other Chinese take-out places in the area.

Pork fried rice was yellow barbecue short ribs were good but everything else was mediocre.

Just a stumbled upon this place as our go to was closed and am so happy we found it. Their ribs are great - very meat, moist and delicious. We had the house Lo Mein and it was outstanding - noodles were cooked right and had a LOT of stuff in it and was very tasty. Egg Rolls are good and chicken and broccoli was very good. We had delivery - was very fast and very hot. Highly recommend this place!!!

I always joke how this place is a NJ 7/10, which makes it a Poconos 10. Plenty of food for the price and always good. Especially like the cold sesame noodles. And their dealing with COVID in a great manner with a window to pickup and pay without needing to go inside the place.

I've been going to GC for forever, years and years and it's with a heavy heart I write this. GC is not the same. I know Lin is gone so I'm thinking they changed hands and it's shows. The last few times we took out, the food was not so great and I'm totally bummed. I no longer live in town but still traveled to GC because it was the best. My new area has numerous Chinese restaurants and none even came close to GC so it was worth the drive. I've turned a few other people on to a GC and they said the same thing. So disappointed! The food just isn't the same and I'd rather not eat so-so Chinese food. Probably won't give it another shot since that last 3 were a disappointment.

Absolutely love this place! Everything is excellent. Most places I'm nervous to try new things not here. Today we got our favorites and it was our daughters first time here, I'm sure the first of many visits! Thanks Lynne for having such a friendly and delicious place!

The best around and our go to spot. Only down side is I can't figure out how to order online. I think the website can use a major overhaul.

This is my new favorite Chinese food place since my old go to closed down. They haven't disappointed me yet, the food is good the customer service is great very friendly people. It seems like a very popular place with the locals. I always order the beef with garlic sauce it could use extra sauce to it but regardless it is still very good.

This use to be the best Chinese food in town hands down. Owners left and it's been going downhill ever since. I've thrown out the last 2 meals I got. Sesame chicken was cold, mushy, yet burnt?! Also they are 2 for 2 in missing at least 1 paid item. Oh well, things change. Time to find a new place.

There were eight of us ordering take out, so we figured the best way to go about this was to order a number of things and share. It the best way to sample a little bit of everything. So we ordered: Beef & Broccoli Chicken & Broccoli House Lo Mein General Tao Chicken Egg Rolls Steamed Dumplings Everything was over cooked and cold. The Generals Tao was so crispy you couldn't even taste the chicken inside. Oh and the worst part was that not everyone got a fortune cookie - I think there was only 3 or 4 in the whole bag. I don't think I will be visiting here again any time soon.

My husband and I have ordered takeout a few times, and it's always mediocre at best. If this the best the area has to offer, I need to find a new hangover remedy. I usually get the sesame chicken combo, that comes with fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll is usually the best part, and that's not saying much. Have you ever seen sesame chicken, without sesame seeds??? Huh? The chicken seems like real chicken at least, but it's always gooey, flat pieces lacking sesame seeds. The fried rice is just rice- there is no onion, egg, carrot pieces. I could make plain rice at home myself. I've ordered veggies with garlic sauce on the side also, eh. Wonton soup is ok. They've also messed up our delivery order before, and instead of offering to come back and deliver what we had ordered, she said they'd give us something free next time, and refused to deliver anything else. I wish there were better in the area.

My family has been getting take out from here for as long as I remember. The food is always delicious and they prepare everything in a reasonable amount of time. Also, the owner is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Chinese meal.

Came here because my normal spot has lost its edge, and it's my new go-to. Best quality and taste of any Chinese place I've been to in a long time. I could literally eat their entire menu. A and they are fast, kind, and very clean.

I have been ordering from this store about 3 years now and I never thought i would say this, but the food quality is not what it used to be. I raved to friends about GC and referred many customers and even some of them have noticed a change. In addition, I ordered and was missing an item was overcharged and they even had the order on record but the woman refused to refund a lousy $4.00. That's bad customer service for sure! The last time I ordered it was the seafood combination and it tasted off so i through it out. I didn't bother calling because I knew i wouldn't get anywhere after the last episode with the overcharge. I really hope they get it together and get back on track with quality and customer service or eventually, they will lose more business but until then, I'm looking for a new chinese take out. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Found this place by accident. I haven't eaten Chinese in a long time. I could never find a nice place with good food. But my search is over! This is one of the best Chinese food I have had ever! I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Very busy Chinese restaurant. That's a good thing. Prices are reasonable as well, which is another good thing. Forgetting sauces for meals and forgetting the staple to which Chinese food is consumed, the Fortune Cookie, isn't a good thing. My wife and I tried this place one Monday night and the food was just OK. We ordered Chicken with Broccoli (with Lo Mein) combo meal (came with an eggroll as well), Wonton Soup, and Crab Rangoons. The chicken didn't resemble chicken; as it looked like flabby sliced something you'd get in a Swanson TV dinner back in the day when they were still made in the tin foil thingy and you had to cook them for 75+ minutes in the oven before the microwave was invented. The Lo Mein was nothing special and neither was the Egg Roll... Both were very bland. The Wonton Soup and Crab Rangoons were good. No complains - well one.. they forgot the sweet and sour sauce for the Crab Rangoons :-( I guess I could have asked them to make sure it was there, but that's like asking if the Broccoli was included with the Chicken w/ Broccoli... Gave it a try, but our go to place for Chinese is still the Golden Jade down the Turnpike. I'd recommend them for their prices, but not for their quality of food.

This has always been the "go to" place in town raved about by many but it's always been meh to me. Haven't ordered here in a very long time, and tonight was a huge disappointment. Singapore noodles were NOTHING of the sort. Zero curry zero spice and quite frankly zero taste. I had to season at home. Husbands beef was so bland and cold it was sad. Chicken wings were wet not crunchy and basically pure fat. So many other wonderful places nearby.... Huna China in Lincoln Park is amazing!! Unfortunately won't be coming here again.

Of all the Chinese food places in the area, this seems to be the best! While variety is always appealing, I stand by my "go-to" of the best Chicken Chow Mein in the area!

Sitting down and having lunch I quickly realized why this was the busiest Chinese place I have been to in quite some time. Food came out quickly, hot, and was good. It seemed most of the customers were there many times before. Odds are they get customers back again and again because they serve good food.

Ordered General tso's chicken with a pork Eggroll and I was disappointed. The eggroll had no pork in it. It was all cabbage. The chicken was all breadcrumb. Disappointed and wont order from there anymore.

The people here are very helpful and the service is great. It looks great and they also sell Oreos. There is a place to sit while your waiting or if you want to eat in.

Horrible, uncaring, dismissive customer service, mediocre food! I placed an order for delivery tonight, ask on the phone to make sure the delivery guy will come up to my apt. For some reason the delivery has refused every time. But today have a sprained ankle so made it a point to request delivery to my door. The guy on the phone says, "defintely, that is to be expected." My order reaches over 1 hour later, the delivery guy calls me & says "You come down". I explain my foot hurts & he just VERY RUDELY says no again & leaves the premises with my dinner. I call the restaurant & they're no help. I ask the manager what am I supposed to do about my dinner since I waited an hour, she said they can't help. By the time I would've reached downstairs with my crutch anyway, the guy could've already been upstairs, 4th floor w/ elevator. No other food delivery has ever made issue, none, in the 9 years I've lived here. Too bad I tipped this guy 20% for every order so far, because they do NOT care about their customers. Sad. Nonesense. Bad business. Food is mediocre, that too. Nothing is worth that hassle. Owner didn't care at all, just yelled at & dismissed me even when I again explained I had a sprained ankle. No CONCEPT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE! Ting's Chinese Restaurant is WAY better with yummy food, in a jiffy, and a pleasant team all around. 2nd choice for area Chinese would be Double Ai. Go Ting's, Booooooo Golden China.

Very delicious Chinese food. The price is super reasonable. For less than $7, you get a main dish, a side order, and rice. The owner is extremely nice and accommodated. We will definitely come back.

I have been going to Golden China for as long as I can remember. Used to get it as a child with my family but now they're quality has done DOWN soo much. The prices have stayed the same but their food is just BAD now. The General Tso is hard crust fried bread crumb no chicken in it. They're rice and noodles are sooo dry, burnt and tasteless. It's a shame bc they used to be good but now it's just oily and not taste. BAD QUALITY FOOD

Chinese Restaurants - especially those designed to handle take-out as their primary focus - tend to vary in "culinary delight" from one visit to the next. Consistency is always a problem. Golden China has been one of our favorite take-out spots for years now because they are far more consistent than their competition and their owner/manager (Lynn) truly cares about the food being packed (or should I say "overpacked") into those paper containers. Here's what I've learned ... have it your way. If you wish a particular dish was "this" or "that" - just ask for it. The odds are very good that they'll make it just how you like it. Hate carrots but love Snow Peas - pull a switch! Do you think that the sauce gets all soaked up on the drive home? Order extra sauce either on the dish or on the side! On to other notes: do you like sweet BBQ pork? Ask Lynn if she has any pork rolls (they're not on the menu) - if she has them, you're in luck but they're not quite traditional as the bun is closer to a hamburger roll than a steamed Chiness bun - however the insides are heavenly. All told, I'd say their Kung Po dishes are their very best, as is their yung chow fried rice. They have some hilarious American items on their menu (favorite because of the misspell are the "Onion Rigs"). Also have a fried chicken and french fries. They've moved into a bigger place recently and their delivery is a bit twitchy depending on where you live. Their take on General Tso's is vastly different than most places - be warned - they do small crunchy pieces - ask them to make it extra saucy and you'll love it. Last thing - even if its not on the menu, ask them to sell you a pint-size of something if you're not certain you'll like it or not (or, if money is tight and you're trying to feed your family on the cheap). In most cases, they'll work with you. These are good people and good members of our business community. Enjoy yourself and, if you get "Mike" on the phone, tell him that Chris from Pines Lake sent you! Chris from Wayne April 2013 Update: I've learned that "Mike", the gentleman that worked the phones and took the orders and fought with Lin (sp?) has, sadly, passed away at far too young an age. My genuine condolences go out to his loving family along with my prayers that he's in Heaven right now handling the take out orders for all The Saints (and making sure that their clouds aren't too far to travel for deliveries). Mike was also an avid fisherman and so, of course, I trust he's finding "all the time NOT in this world" to be at his favorite fishin' hole ... kicking back and hauling in one record-holder after another!

We've been going to Golden China for take out for at least 15+ years and never disappointed. Great food, call in our order and pick it up in a reasonable amount of time. Best take out in the area.

This is solid Chinese take out with friendly, efficient service. I always order from here, when I am in the area. I enjoy the Hunan chicken and shrimp, chicken wings or pepper steak.

I'm shocked by the bad reviews! Best beef sticks and chicken and garlic I've ever had. The people are super friendly also. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I'm a huge steamed dumpling fan and they aren't the best I've ever had. Otherwise I would recommend them 100%.

We just moved to Pequannock and started discovering what to do and where to eat. Ordered delivery for the first time from this place and we are pleased with fast delivery and food itself seemed fresh and tasty. Definitely will order again.

Was a great Chinese delivery place a few years ago, now its hit or miss, delivery takes forever, and you never know if it's gonna be good or not. And what's up with the fortune cookies, they are advertisements now.

Moved into the area a few years back. Went through trying out a few different Chinese food spots and this is by far the best. So far I've had the boneless spare ribs, beef with broccoli, wonton soup and hot & sour soup...all were delicious..highly recommend to anyone craving Chinese food

Definitely best Chinese food in the area. They are good even during those busy hours. Steamed dumplings and boneless rib platter is awesome.

We are new to the area ...this is the best Chinese restaurant. We walked in and ordered the phone never stops ringing for orders!!crab wonton excellent shrimp fried rice hot and sour soup chicken mixed vegetables and spring rolls all delicious ...best place in town ...

The food is really good. They have American people at the front counter so its easy to order. The bad part is their delivery times. they are so busy it can take over 40 minutes for pick up and over SN hour for cold delivered food on a weekend.
