15 London Starters That Are The Main Event - London - The Infatuation

"This was a hard-fought slot, with Caravel and Mambow’s prawn toast both worthy of honourable mentions. But in the end, there’s just something about the rotund creations coming out of Imperial Treasure. Nothing about this Chinese spot is run-of-the-mill and these guys, looking like sesame-covered ducks bobbing in a pond, are the juiciest examples of prawn toast in town." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna, daisy meager, jake missing, rianne shlebak, jake missing, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, jake missing, jake missing, sinead cranna, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak, rianne shlebak, jake missing, rianne shlebak, jake missing, daisy meager

I ordered Combination Egg Foo Young, Spring, and Egg Rolls 2. The food is inconsistent, and this tilted the scale for me😡! I waited for my order and I didn't check my bag. Oh my gosh, when I got home( see the photo)😵😫😡! My egg rolls were hard, and the dried out! The Combination egg foo young was burnt, 4 shrimps ,2 pieces of pork and nothing else!!😭😡 I called the location, was upset, and wanted my money back and was advised to come back. I was too sick to leave home. I advised the lady that I would come in on Monday 6/2/25, she ok. I went in on Monday, the man, didn't want to replace my food😡! I'm so happy ,I took pictures of my order. When I showed him the burnt food, he penalized me by telling me I had to wait 30 minutes, when I was the only one in the estate🤔😵‍💫😡. I was NOT TREATED WITH RESPECT and he was made that the food had to be replaced for free. I will advise anyone not to choose this restaurant because of the quality of the food and the disrespectful behavior of the management!😡

Love this place. Has always been super consistent for us. Egg rolls are really good! We especially like their traditional Chinese menu. Highly recommend the black pepper chicken and lo mein!

Google
Please be exceptionally careful. The older couple with exceptional costumer service no longer runs this operation, costumers of theirs for over a decade. There is a male 30’s to 40’s whom is abrasive , unapproachable, and short tempered, extreme difficulty understanding and articulating in English, whom is present at the operation now. In any event that you should question the menu or request clarification for your order, he will immediately become angered. Too unsafe to order. Proceed with caution. Captured by the operations cctv with and audio per display. Less than one rating , one is the lowest options.

Google
Absolutely amazing. I ordered crab rangoon, philly egg roll and Shrimp Lo main and I tell you the noodles are a 10 out of 10 not overcooked or undercooked nor dry. The shrimp are perfect quality large shrimp. Everything was perfect I couldn't finish it all, good portions. Well worth my money. Great atmosphere! I'll be back again all the way from Florida ☆☆☆☆☆

Camon L.

Google
Fantastic service and food, I would have preferred a little soy sauce with the cooked beef rice with a little more extra special spice. I will be sure to order extra meat with my next order. The beef was cooked to perfection.

Taalibah M.

Google
Great shrimp lo mein, steak and cheese egg rolls are really good and the fried chicken wings are tasty and fried well😍 great cooks, I'm convinced all their food is solid.

Derek A.

Google
This is an absolutely honest review: This is the best Chinese noodles I ever had! I don’t know how he pulled it off but this is exactly the way I would make it! I LOVE spicy food and upon my request to make it spicy, the flavor and the spice exceeded expectations! I can eat this noodles everyday and this is coming from a West African. Also apart from the exceptional taste of the food, the friendliness of the staff is amazing and truly makes getting food from here an experience of taste and good natured laughter! Thank you

Google
AVOID THIS PLACE. UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT THAT UNDERCOOK OR OVERCOOK A LOT OF THEIR FOOD. THE CHICKEN HAS A PORK TASTE AND THE RICE IS USUALLY SOGGY. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS HEALTH. I GUARANTEE THEY'LL BE SHUT DOWN SOON. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is under new owners, who are very nice people. The food is better than before!!! I'm from St. Louis so when we say rice is good it really is good . This is one of the few times I really put it all on the line and will say it's good....the rice was fried really good with a nice amount of chicken. Next was the pepper beef and onions which was also pretty good with beef perfectly cooked that's was too chewy at all! Next was the lo mein which was also pretty good too, the noodles weren't too oily and was very tender with plenty of chicken also. Next was the fried dumplings which also was tasty, the amount you get is more than enough if you crave dumplings!!!! Now on to the star of the meal.....drum roll....,the doughnut balls were amazing!!!! These were free with coupon off the menu, they were hot and delicious...I've never had them before. A must try! This place was clean and the food was made quickly with no problems with the order!

Yelp
I overpaid for what was ordered (large kung poa chicken) and the guy did not even fill the container with rice. This place is cheap and does not give what you pay for. Find another Chinese food place.

Andy W.

Yelp
I was standing out front, waiting for my food with two other customers. The man in the back decided to scream at the young girl helping. He started throwing things in the back pots and pans, and also threw them out through the curtains towards the front. We were all scared, and police were called.

Monica G.

Yelp
The service is horrible. The owner is very rude and over charged for my order. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Before people open a business they need to take customer service class because dare you be rube to people that spend money at your establishment. They will never see another dime at this place.

Elili B.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We went in based on the reviews we saw and was treated with amazing service right away! They really care for their customers and the food was exceptional! Definitely would stop by here

Sabrinah B.

Yelp
This is my second time going to this establishment. The food is delicious and they give you large amounts of food and the carryout is quite clean. I love it!

Chris L.

Yelp
Hate to downgrade the place, but the quality and quality has went down and the prices have went up (the latter is completely understandable). Singapore noodles use to be in a normal large size container - its now about half the size. For 20yrs the steamed dumplings were made the same exact way (and I think they've changed owners over this time period), but the last two times I ordered them they were made differently. The first was the smaller har gao type. The second time was a very pathetic pierogi shaped thing with the tiniest amount of meat. Please go back to your original version. I know prices had to go up, as you guys had a very affordable menu for many years, but some of the quantity/quality changes I think should be rethought...
google avatar

Wayne G.

Yelp
They provide quantity over quality. My sweet and sour pork which I decided to stop eating filled me up but was oily and had little taste. The staff are pleasant. It's carry out and the staff are masked which works for me.

Carl B.

Yelp
Amazing food. I had the Hunan Chicken. Hot, fresh, and just absolutely amazing. Great portion for a combo. I will eat here again.
google avatar

Dan A.

Yelp
This is my first time ordering food from this place, their menu is very extensive and it's hard sometimes to pick the right item. I normally like cantonese carry out than chinese carry out but today i felt like i need chinese food.. I honestly didn't like my food much it wasn't the best...the chicken wings were burnt(over fried) the right was ok, fries wasnt that great, the stir fry wasnt out of this world. I could have cooked better.. I give them stars for a clean place, good and prompt service. I will definitely try their food one more time and make final judgment..

Yelp
Long before I was a Yelper, I have came here and ate at he one table they have in the front counter area. I sometimes have ordered out. It has authentic flavors and the staff is always kind. I have a hard time choosing from all the dishes, but they are patient with me. Since they get takeout orders via phone and walk-ins, the orders can pile up fast. Around lunch time, one person can walk in with an order for am entire office! So watch where you want to land in the pecking order. They have cool coupons on the paper take out menus, so if you meet the requirements, use the coupons. I think you get a drink with some of the combos or if you buy a certain amount. There are diploma many types of bottled and canned drinks, soda, juices, green teas. I love their crab rangooons and fried dumplings, they go well with any entree.

Yelp
Having patronized this location many times over the years, Golden Coast is a rather unassuming Chinese restaurant in a short shopping strip. While there's a single table and chairs, it's not meant to dine-in. Out standby in the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken pieces are plump and juicy while the breading is crunchy. One order could easily feed two. Spring rolls are also crunchy and amazing. Their egg drop soup is also quite delish. They'll throw in plenty of sauces, napkins, and utensils. You also might get some free food! My only complaint is not having an idea of what a new dish contains until after getting it. For example Hot and Spicy Chicken is a dish up my alley, however, it contains lots of onions and bell peppers. There's a decent amount of chicken but it's buried in a mess of veggies. Not worth getting again. Some of their other dishes are like that as well. For quick and convenient Chinese food, order here. Unfortunately with online ordering they are only on BeyondMenu.

Yelp
One star. Had some delivery a week ago at the suggestion of a local. Can't believe how bad this was. I ordered a 12" fish sub and some egg foo yung. The sandwich came as TWO 6" (weird) and the fish was clearly old, reheated - or both - because it was hard in some spots and dry as beach sand. The egg foo young was flavorless and get this....the gravy was watered down like beef stock. Soupy! No thick gravy as expected. Who messes up egg foo?? Jeez. The egg rolls were bad and the small shrimp fried rice was bland too. A true culinary travesty. Even bad Chinese carry-outs aren't normally this bad but this place was deplorable. Reminds me of why I'm always hesitant to take food recommendations from people with unknown skills. Ugh....stuff ran my belly.

Yelp
To borrow from a previous entry, "Golden Coast is a rather unassuming Chinese restaurant in a short shopping strip. While there's a single table and chairs, it's not meant to dine-in. " This place is a standard for those who are in a rush and not too considered with bland fried rice. I dropped by today for lunch, got the rib tips and fried rice ($6.95 lunch special). Meh Rice was boring and bland, even when you add soy sauce. Admittedly if I had some sweet and spicy red pepper sauce, this review would be different... slightly. They did give me a generous portion of the pork tips in some kind of bbq-ish sauce. They were middle of the road. Again, nothing fancy and good for a quick, uninspiring meal. Call ahead for take out, as this place is totally not dine in, no matter what their signs say. I should have went to the China Panda up the road, or even grab a burger at Burger King instead.
google avatar

Lolo L.

Yelp
Today we tried shrimp with crispy walnut and general tsao's chicken- both delicious and ready when I arrived! I've called ahead about 4 times now and each time consistent and friendly service. These are Real Chinese folks making good Chinese Food at a very decent price! Five stars! I recommend ordering by the number on the menu if they can't understand. I now know to say No. 88 instead of walnut shrimp. Haha

Yelp
Great portions. Good quality food. Fair prices. Friendly customer service. It's our local neighborhood spot and we love ordering from here! Always hits the spot and food is always fresh and satisfying. I wish they were open later sometimes but we totally understand since we're in the suburbs.
google avatar

Troy U.

Yelp
Nay . It's clean and professional. I got the beef broccoli. There was plenty of broccoli but the beef well I got a few small dried up pieces of "beef." It's tough working on the road. Good inexpensive food is hard to find.
google avatar

Yelp
Did not recIeve food after over an hour. Rude on phone when called to check on food. Live close
google avatar

Joelyne K.

Yelp
Literally have no idea what everyone else is saying about the food not having taste. The sweet n' spicy red pepper sauced tofu and vegetables I got and the Sesame Chicken my husband got tonight was amazing and bursting with flavor. The portions are super generous. The white rice was sticky like I like it and super fluffy. This was our first time trying this place out and we are definitely getting take out from there again! It may very well be my new favorite take out place! To top it off they were super fast with my order and very friendly.

Zoha C.

Yelp
Ordered a dew times here. Pretty good m, and fast service. Had their lo mein and fried rice both are so good.

Jared U.

Yelp
Ordered over an hour ago. When food hadn't arrived after an hour I called and was put on hold while they "looked into it". After 7 minutes on hold I hung up and called back. Was told my order was already in the car and it should be there shortly. After we got out food and opened up, found that all the rice was missing. Now we are waiting for our rice to be delivered...an hour and 30 minutes AFTER placing our order. Food is just typical chinese takeout. Nothing special. Strongly advise not ordering from here. There are plenty of better places in the area. EDIT: Over 2 hours later the delivery guy just delivered our rice. I told him that I didn't want it at this point and wanted a refund on our order. I had to call back and the girl on the phone who said it was coming right away told me that it hadn't left the store yet. I told her I wanted a refund at this point and now am working on that since she said nothing could be done on her end. I will NEVER EVER order from this restaurant again. I HIGHLY recommend you try somewhere else like Mandarin House or Asian One.

Steven B.

Yelp
Frankly I wish I could have put 1 star. After an hour wait called about our food, received a very angry lady on the phone didn't even take our address to know about which delivery we were calling about. Couldn't tell us how much longer we will wait. Not worth it plenty of other better asian restaurants.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
This is the closest Chinese takeout place to my apartment. The food is average. It's good for a quick meal if you've completely run out of ideas. My boyfriend really likes the General Tso Chicken, I'm partial to the Singapore Style Rice Noodles (but I change up my order almost every time we order from there) and nothing has really blown me away. It's undergone new management once since we started going here, but even with the new management not much has changed.
google avatar

Asia G.

Yelp
Horrible-fried rice tasted old and reheated, yet the center was raw. Good service for carry-out but otherwise horrible food.
google avatar

Zach M.

Yelp
Typical chinese take out. Get what u pay for. They do have some thai dishes unlike most take out places which is nice especially in a thai desert like laurel. Cheap no frills if ur drunk or high and got munchies
google avatar

Jae K.

Yelp
Good lunch and dinner specials. Take out only. For the price and food can't really beat it in the area. Quick and fast service too
google avatar

Shelly C.

Yelp
I placed an online order on beyond menu requesting for my food to be delivered at 6pm. I spent $54, the driver was unable to find my house and after an hour he stopped at a gas station where a very nice man offered to bring my food to me because the driver had him call me. I called the restaurant to tell them what their driver did and that I was being asked to come get the food. The lady hung up on me! I called back asking for some of my money back, she said she would tell the driver to give me money back and for me to drive to her restaurant to get the food and hung up on me again! I got $4 back and I will never order from there again!!!!

Trey F.

Yelp
This restaurant replaced the previous chinese restaurant my office had been getting food from. We're located in laurel, so they were the next closest restaursnt. We ordered a number of items and they arrived in 40-50 minutes. The food was good, but not great or memorable, just something to curb the taste for chinese food and put something in your stomach. For now, we'll continue to get food from this restaurant, but its nothing to get excited about.

Rochelle P.

Yelp
The shrimp fried rice is great and my husband loves their fried wings. Very accommodating! Exactly as ordered and we'll seasoned, you'll love the food so give it a try.

Kevin K.

Yelp
Waited 50 minutes for a to-go order placed at the counter. They told me 15-20 minutes. No apology for the wait or anything, just handed me the bag and they were gone. Once back in my room, the egg rolls were bland, the shrimp toast was nothing but oil... the kung pao chicken was nothing but hot sauce (no flavor what-so-ever,) and very few vegetables. But the worst part, was the fried rice was burned to a crisp, causing the whole container to smell like burned food. the only thing that was edible, was the won-ton soup. I will not be going back to this establishment again.
google avatar

Chef N D.

Yelp
In my opinion best Chinese food in the area. It's close to NY takeout. Fried rice is the best hands down. Not saying is the absolute best but it serves it's purpose. The food is fresh for the most part. The veggie dishes are better than the meat to me.
google avatar

Katya G.

Yelp
We always order a pick up from them and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious. Their hot and sour soup is the best!
google avatar

Samuel D.

Yelp
Have been going here for years it's now new people that own it. And the food is absolutely shit it has no flavor at all. It's a shame the ones that own this one also own the one down the street and both are shit
google avatar

Jin Y.

Yelp
It's insult to Laurel neighborhood serving this kind of horrible food. Just got hot and spicy chicken which tastes like damn catchup and vinegar. Ordered food from this place few times, and they are always inconsistent. Either overcooked, too much sauce, and salty. I would never order food from this place again.....

Colin C.

Yelp
I placed an order online @ 1:50pm on a Monday with a delivery estimate of 30-60 minutes. After 70 minutes, I tried inquiring as to when my order should arrive and unfortunately the person who answered the phone had no idea what I was trying to ask and ultimately hung up on me. I contacted the 3rd party online menu service to see if they would have better luck finding out when/if I should expect my delivery. After 2 hours, my food was finally delivered without an apology or anything by the driver. The food was mediocre at best. Being that there are other places in my area with free delivery where I've never had this long of a delay and Golden Coast charges a $3 delivery fee (which would be fine if the food arrived even close to its estimate) I won't be eating here again.
google avatar

Randy J.

Yelp
I ordered online about 5:18 pm and it's 6:40 and havent recieved my order. Called the restaurant and they hung up on me. Ten minutes later my order shows up and here is the killer bland tasting garlic chicken. This is one of the worst Chinese restaurant in Laurel, MD.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
This place is the essences of one that I would NOT recommend! The scallops tasted frozen, there was a mystery element in my husband's rice. The spring rolls were under cooked and doughy. The dumplings were almost all dough and way, way to much liver in them. Sigh! The dipping sauce tasted like there was Chemical sweetener in it. And the broth from the soup had little authentic flavor to it. I'd rather take the drive over to either Ellicott City or Rockville. Any of the restaurants will be paramount to this meal!
google avatar

Mengjie L.

Yelp
This is my first try in a Chinese restaurant. I ordered General Tso's Chicken. It only takes ten minutes to get my food and it tastes good. I'll still choose golden coast if I wanna eat Chinese food next time : )

Kate C.

Yelp
Just tried Golden Coast for the first time. I loved the convenience of being able to order online. When we got there to pick it up, the food was ready and the service was friendly. The food was hot and delicious. Will definitely be ordering from there in the future.

Racquel K.

Yelp
Ordered Thai Curry chicken. certainly no Curry flavor. And I'm beginning to wonder if the chicken was fully cooked as I now have a terribly bad stomach ache. Will never go back.

L. A.

Yelp
The food tastes like warmed up in the microwave and we ordered a couple of different meals. Shrimps were not cleaned there was still poop in them. The rice-soup was white rice with only a little water and some chicken pieces. It tasted n smelled like old buttery chicken broth. Everything else was not tasty at all too. I wasn't able to eat it. The price is just like it is at every other Chinese place... Only thing positive was the friendly stuff n garlic sauce...

Yelp
We live on Fort Meade and ordered our food over 3 hours ago. We spent over 50$ I can't give a rating on the food because it still hadn't arrived. They sent a driver who called over 10X saying he couldn't find our home (google maps and simple GPS have no issues). We had a very hard time communicating because of a language barrier which I understand however, an establishment should not have a delivery man who doesn't know how to get somewhere in their deliver range. After calling and inquiring several times, they said they are sending a different driver because the first one didn't work out. After 3 hours, they didn't even offer to rectify the situation. I asked if due to the wait they could adjust the bill, although she was nice and apologetic, the restaurant was only willing to adjust the bill by 5$. The lady that finally delivered the food was very nice and apologetic and I do not personally blame her but I am so frustrated with the restaurant. Needless to say, if our food ever gets here, we will not be ordering again :(

Ms B.

Yelp
If I could I'd give them 0 stars. We asked for delivery to Emerson which is right down the street from Golden Coast off Gorman Road only 2.5 miles from restaurant and they refused to deliver because it's over 5 miles? Ok so was asked to pick up the food. NOT WORTH IT. Food is terrible. On a positive note found out that Peking Chinese in Columbia, MD will deliver. The food from Peking Chinese is always top notch!!

Nousheen N.

Yelp
The food was disgusting, I got the Singapore style noodles and their was large clumps of powder in it and parts of the noodles that had nothing in it.... A complete disaster. Never again.

Harry G.

Yelp
This place has changed hands since my last revue. I thought I'd give them a try. Tonight I ordered online for pick-up. When I arrived they didn't have my order. They took my order again at the front counter. After waiting 35 minutes from the time of the initial order, I left without the food. Once before I ordered General Tso's chicken. When I got home I discovered they had given me General Tso's tofu. Their hot and sour soup is good, but I can find just as good or better elsewhere. I'm done with Golden Coast!

Alex E.

Yelp
Worse food service I had at a chines restaurant. My girl's friends beef and broccoli had a odor of urine. When I return to the establishment, the employee at the front counter was rude and refused to give me managements information.

A B.

Yelp
This place is horrible. I ordered shrimp chow mein and it came with cabbage and barely cooked shrimp, no noodles. I called and they said that is the lo mein, and would not fix the order. Every other chinese restaurant I've been to has noodles with chow mein.
