I came here for a Filipino-style Lechon and was not disappointed! The lechon was crispy and even though I ordered just half of a pig, it was still more than enough for a party of 30 people. I had no problems with communication or picking up the order. The deposit for the lechon was cash-only, and for $10 extra, they will chop it for you. I would consider them again for any future events. Thank you!

Google
Authentic hole-in-the-wall Cantonese and Dim Sum style restaurant. Freshly made items and fantastic, inexpensive prices for large size portions. Friendly and fast service. Delicious roast pork, Siu Mai, house Chow Mein, and rice rolls.

Lois

Google
Hole in the wall place with cheap, authentic, delicious food! I don't need to go all the way to China Town for Chinese food anymore; this place is super close to where I live and has legitimate Chinese BBQ hanging up that they'll chop up for you right then and there, on top of all the other dishes they have. I'm not joking when I say it's one of the cheapest places around--you can get honey walnut shrimp for about $9 when it's typically $12-13 at other restaurants! Just remember to bring cash with you as they don't take card. Definitely worth checking out if you want to try to save a few bucks.

Google
Cheap and authentic Chinese food. They only take CASH. I highly recommend the eel stone pot rice (there will be some little bone pieces in there). The eel rice came with soup and vegetable (don't know what kind).

Frank Jones

Google
They only accept cash but their food is amazing. Also, it was really cheap wich I loved!

Google
We had the ginger chicken and house fried rice. This place is one of the only Chinese restaurant left in Beacon Hill. This says a lot considering this use to be a Chinese neighborhood. The food is classic Chinese American. We will definitely be going back to contributing to their preservation. The first time we had it was at a catered event. I’m glad we went back. It’s an old school classic. Supporting or neighbors will be a joy. Can’t wait to try the chow mein.

Google
Come here for take out dim sum and Cantonese bbq - prices are reasonable, the food is good, front of the house is friendly. Note: cash only.

Kitt's Music Box

Google
I got there and it looks closed but there's an open sign. Inside looks closed, all lights off and everything looks grimy. The lady listed off about five things that they actually have out of the whole menu, they don't have anything else available. The cook was inside sitting at a table with his shoes off up on the chair. It had flies going around inside and looks incredibly unsanitary. I've been trying to find other places to try out in this area so this was incredibly disappointing.

Yelp
This is a review after 3 different visits to the store to provide more completeness. The 3 vists were on different days too (Wed., Sat., & Mon.) to gauge service and food quality at different times. The review is also limited to foods tasted from the roast meats and Dim Sum only. I have included prices lists as of Feb. 2022. As of this writing in April 2022, the place only offers take-out. Service is fine for a mom and pop place. CASH only please. Dim Sum - Not all Dim Sum are created equal. There's the higher end high-end restaurant qaulity, and "Street Food" level of quality. Golden Daisy falls in the latter category. Having said that, the food ingredientss were fresh, though may be of a lesser quality. For example, the shrimp in the Shrimp Dumplings were very small (though there were many!) compared to larger shrimp in higher quality places. Shu Mai was mainly pork with no visable shrimp. There may be chopped shrimp in them but I can't tell nor am able to taste from the samples. The item size was large for these items. The overall quality and taste of these items were consistent over the 3 I was times there. The standouts for me are the deep fried dumplings, the Bean Curd Rolls (Slight quality consistentcy issues on this one.), and the rice dumpling ("Jung", not on menu.). The Bao dough and taste were very good, though there's way too little stuffing in them. The pricing was very good compared to other Dim Sum places, which I believe makes this place worth visiting especially. Roasts meats - Only tried the Char Siew and the Roast Pork so far. The former is nothing to write about. The latter had some quality issues, but the taste is actually pretty good. (The last time, the lady dripped sauce on the crispy skin of the roast pork, negating the crispy skin texture { SIN! ], and was drier than the previous 2 times.) Overall, I am pleased to have tried out this place, and will very likely visit frequently compared to other places for the Dim Sum. I believe there are places offering better Roast Meats however. Regardles, this place offers a better bang for the buck for the cost conscious.

Yelp
Amazingly affordable dim sum at this little hole-in-the-wall take out only establishment. Char siu pork excellent drizzled with drippings stellar. $10/lb. Steamed bbq pork buns perfectly executed at $1.80, meaty shrimp and pork siu mai mostly pork but large and juicy(comes with fried chili crisp oil). No frills, no sauces, Cash Only, To-Go Only, No English so no questions and know what you want to point at the menu or in the case.

Yelp
I really wanted to like the food. Tried har gow, shu mai, charshui bow, shrimp with broccoli. Very poor quality and tasteless. Har gow was mealy pasty texture. Perhaps the roasted meats are why ratings are high. The basic chinese food dish was bland. Staff was friendly. "Cash only" was a surprise, glad I had some with me.
google avatar

Yelp
Great prices, gigantic portions, and delicious food! Service is friendly. Ambiance is negligible since I believe it is takeout only. My partner and I loved the baos.
google avatar

Yelp
What you see is what you get - an honest spot with good dim sum and bbq pork and duck. Was put grocery shopping which generally makes me hungry. That reminded me that I'd been meaning to give Golden Daisy a try. Fresh, tasty and inexpensive. Had the sticky rice, siu mai and shrimp dumplings. All good. Will give the roasted pork a try on the next visit. No pics this time - too busy chowing down and honestly it's not about the aesthetics here - just straight up good food.

Yelp
My go to place when we have a big party and need food to cater the function... I'm willing to travel all the way down here to pick my my trays of Shumai (they are big) Har gow, sticky rice, Puto, Duck & Lechon just to name some of my favorites.... Yummy goodness and price is Reasonable.

Yelp
Updating bc I realized it's the norm for restaurants to close on tues, wed, thurs etc during covid. Also bc I've been to 3 star restaurants where the food was meh. This is not meh, the food is tasty and the location convenient.
google avatar

Mindy F.

Yelp
Taste and service hasn't changed since we started going here in college...20+ years ago. Shumai, fried noodles, shrimp dumplings, sticky rice, and puto are so delicious and quality (portions and cost) hasn't changed much since e COVID and recent price gouging months of 'supply chain shortage, gas supply shortages, inflation, greedy organizations & folks'. Two locations - never green to Tukwila location but Beacon Hill locale has always been our go to.

Yelp
the char siu is some of the best i've ever had!! would def recommend getting it. the house fried rice was okay not the best and the beef chow fun was pretty good,, worth trying :)

Yelp
Avoid this place at all cost. We purchased a whole pig recently for a birthday party. We paid the additional fee to get it cut. They swapped out the meat. They took the pork belly part and swapped it with old dry meat. Bad business
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
My favorite dim sum place but they no longer offer dine in!! It's take out only sadly.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this little gem on Beacon Hill! Don't let the unassuming and somewhat shabby exterior fool you. Inside you will find sublime BBQ pork, duck and crispy roast pork. The BBQ pork is lean, tasty and at $7 a pound, a real bargain. For around $300 you can purchase a whole crispy pig. This family run restaurant has friendly and attentive service. The portions are large and the prices are more than reasonable. Four of us could barely finish two dishes. Stop in and you will be sure to become a regular.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a hidden gem! Whenever I'm craving dim sum and don't want to deal with long waits, I order take-out from here. The food here is yummy, fresh and affordable. Don't be deterred by their simple menu -- they offer all the dim sum essentials, from shu mai to baos. They even have roast pork and duck! I would recommend coming here early in the day in case they run out of food. Plus, who doesn't love early morning dim sum?!
google avatar

Rich A.

Yelp
Great neighborhood cheap eats. Doesn't get any better than this for neighborhood Chinese takeout. Always fast, always delicious, and such a good deal - $20 will usually feed 2 of us, often with leftovers. I get takeout from here at least once a week. Not much to look at from outside or in - but I don't care. They get my order quick and everything I've ordered has been delicious, the health rating is Excellent. Best part is I've never spent over $25 for 2 people!
google avatar

Young P.

Yelp
Fast, delicious, cheap, clean, and has a very authentic feel. A real gem in the heart of Beacon Hill. My wife and I had walked past it multiple times without thinking much of it. Now, we're regulars and love so many items on this menu. Definitely try their new clay pot dishes. They take about 15-20m but completely worth it.
google avatar

Shelby M.

Yelp
This place is a JOKE. A Chinese restaurant only open from 9am- 3pm??? And, they only take cash but do not let you know that upon ordering pickup. Get your MSG somewhere else, seriously.

Sarina T.

Yelp
I ate a bit of my food before posting, but I've going to Golden Daisy for my monthly fix of dim sum. The price is relatively cheap compared to every other restaurant in town (they are cash only to keep prices low). Despite the low prices, the food there is pretty good! Their business hours are quite short which makes it difficult for me to go more often... but understandable due to covid.
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Discovered this place relatively recently and it's such great value - good food for good prices. I wish they were open longer but maybe if there's more business they can open longer again.
google avatar

Tonya P.

Yelp
This has been a gem for a longggg time. Honestly doesn't look like much when you walk past but the aroma of bbq roast pork & duck will lure you in. After going there for dim sum to go per my sister in law's request, it's been a family staple. Be aware! It's cash only & has been for the longest so don't act brand new when they tell ya that. I love Golden Daisy. My family loves it. We'll always come back! Oh & their lechon is decently priced!
google avatar

Bill N.

Yelp
Finally got to a dim sum breakfast here this morning. We have tried take out BBQ pork before (excellent) but this is the first time we had their dim sum. We ordered a lot of stuff for $1 or $2 and most of it was pretty good. Not super hot but it all came out fast. breakfast came to $17 for 2 and we couldn't eat it all. It is a such a small place that they can't do the cart thing like the big places which allows you to choose by just pointing. We were the only ones in there that ordered in English. A few people came in to order a duck or hunk of roasted pork to go. We gotta try that sometime. We also need to get their takeout chinese dishes sometime. The restaurant itself is small and I often see it full with big Chinese families or groups of old men. Way cool! The room is a bit tired with a weird half done painting on one wall, dirty windows, and a very sad fish tank that was only half filled with cloudy water.
google avatar

Johnny C.

Yelp
This is probably the best place to get Dim Sum and Roast Pork in Seattle. Make sure you go there early or food sold out fast. Even though there isn't much choice of Dim Sum, but they only sell the classics and made in-house. Roast Pork is their signature, sometimes it just come out from the oven and you can still see smoke coming out. The exterior may not seem welcoming, but they have the best food there!
google avatar

Y V.

Yelp
I give this place 2 stars. Pro The cook was grand ma and she was very nice. Good price Con Customer service was not so good. and dim Sam was cold kept in room temperature may be because they were almost closing which made me feel uncomfortable to eat. The general Tso chicken wasn't great.Butter tasted like corn dogs and sauce was sour. I didn't like it.Broccoli beef was ok. I prefer buying Chinese food take out from Red apple more!!I just wanted to try new thing but this store wasn't for me.
google avatar

Dorje T.

Yelp
If you're fussy about decor or nervous about grimy hole in the wall places, you probably won't like Golden Daisy. English is barely spoken, it's cash only and the list goes on. I do not care. It's been my experience that some of the best food comes from the unlikeliest of sources. Golden Daisy falls neatly into that category. Seriously great dim sum. Probably the best shui mai in town. The bbq duck & pork are stellar and fresh. And the prices? Like a budgie: cheap!!! The staff is sweet and accommodating in a gruff way. Again, you'll either love it or hate it. Can't please everyone and Golden Daisy is about as unpretentious as can be. But it's very solid!

Andy K.

Yelp
I live two blocks away and have lost count of the number of times I've eaten there. Their roast pig, duck and chicken are the best and cheaper than anything in Chinatown. Saturday mornings can be hectic with some items running out by noon. Dim sum selection is rather limited; I love the bean curd roll and beef tripe. The menu has a good assortment of normal dishes along with 3 rice bowls not shown. The eel rice bowl is off the hook. Their whole roasted pig is a real party treat. They are opening another restaurant within the new Lam's store in the long strip mall on Southcenter Parkway.
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Review is only for catering experience - namely BBQ whole pig! In terms of presentation, serving the whole animal will surely make an impression on guests! We got a 30 lb piggie for hosting a wedding party for my sister. The restaurant is mostly BBQ takeout and they do have dim sum to go. It's really tiny and parking is virtually non-existent. The good news is that they will help you haul out the pig to your trunk if you park in the loading zone. As for the pig itself - amazing! Crispy skin and some if the most juiciest meat imaginable. All the guests enjoyed it and my uncle commented it was better than versions he had in San Francisco! 30 lbs of pig was quickly chopped up and distributed to the various families by the end of the day. Not sure who got to keep the best part though - according to Andrew Zimmer it's the cheeks!

Azadeh F.

Yelp
I love hole in the walls but this was so bad that I should've trusted my eyes and nose when I walked in. The shumai had NO flavor except of ground pork and the Har Gao was equally as terrible. Also The restaurant itself has a horrible smell to it. There is a reason this is some of the cheapest shumai in Seattle
google avatar

Yelp
The quality is awesome and the customer service is the best one I have ever seen. Will visit again in the future.
google avatar

Eva L.

Yelp
I agree with other Yelpers that this place is a hole in a wall! They have BBQ meats that you can buy per pounds and variety of dim sum! I bought a pound of BBQ pork before (you can pick your piece or ask for how many pounds you want) and it was delicious!! Make sure you ask for a bit of extra sauce for the BBQ pork. For dimsum, my favorite would have to be shu mai (pork dumplings) and the big steamed hum baos (meat, egg, chinese sauage)! I think they raised their prices a bit, but it's still very afforable! The shu mai for $2.50 (4 shu mai - per order)! Hum baos are $1! Mini bbq porks are $1 for 3! Steamed rice noodle dishes varying from meat and veggie options for only a $1 a plate! Sticky rice buns wrapped in bamboo leaves for $1 each! I love that this place is very afforable. It's not really a place I would dine in (although there are tables for you to dine), since I always get a lot and bring it to go to share. I haven't tried any of the other entrees like the stir fried entrees with rice but I imagine them being very big fulfilling lunch plates!

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend for lunch on a Thursday afternoon because this was the closest dim sum place to our house. The restaurant was mostly empty except for 1 person dining but a lot of people came in for to go orders. The lady told us we could sit down wherever and brought out plates and tea right as we sat. We ordered the typical dim sum- chicken feet, shrimp dumplings, and shu mai. Then we also got honey walnut shrimp and roast pork with a side of white rice. Everything was so cheap! We got our food pretty fast and we didn't really expect much since most of our dishes were only $1-$2. The shu mai to me was kind of dry but my boyfriend liked it. The shrimp dumplings were kind of bland but we liked it regardless. The chicken feet were under flavored which I enjoyed because I don't like how heavy other restaurants season their chicken feet. The roast pork was cut fresh but when she brought it out to us, it was...cold? We were confused but the skin was crispy so that was all that mattered. The last thing we got was the honey walnut shrimp which they deep fried with tempura batter (never seen before but pretty good). The sauce wasn't the usual sauce but it was still sweet and tasted good, and the walnuts weren't candied like they usually are at other places. I don't like honey walnut shrimp anyways, so I didn't mind it, but my boyfriend liked. Our meal came out to be about $27 which is not bad at all. We'll probably come back here just because of the distance and price. The service is pretty laid back and they were friendly too.

Callista C.

Yelp
Or neighborhood dim sum/ Chinese bbq place. Not fancy but one of the best kept secrets in Beacon Hill. Roast duck is a family favorite. The shu mai, cha shao bao (pork buns), and ha gao (shrimp dumplings) are all pretty standard. Easy to get in and out (though sometimes a short line). Great for when you crave dum sum but can't motivate to go to the ID.
google avatar

Carol H.

Yelp
This place is small and outdated but it's convenient. They have Chinese bbq, dim sum and a menu with various stir fry items. It's not as good as going to Chinatown but it's close to home. The folks are really nice. We usually get the fuk chow fried rice, chow fun or Singapore noodles. It's usually not too greasy or salty. Oh, they also have delivery.
google avatar

Pete S.

Yelp
Let's be honest here. If you blindfolded me, brought me here, and told me to sit down, I would fully expect to be "Wacked off" by the Chinese mafia, which begs the question, is it better to be "Wacked off" or "Wacked on"? That really went south quickly, sorry. You are not going to walk past this building ever and have an urge to go in. You are not going to walk inside and know you made the right choice by the décor. But once your food arrives on humongous plates and you realize you just bought dinner for the next three days, you will be soooo thankful you are a coveted member of YELP and read all these good reviews. Very authentic! Amazing prices! Nice people! Don't be scared.
google avatar

Surya V.

Yelp
Ordered a vegetarian dish and explicitly said I don't eat meat. Came with pork shreds in it.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid lunch box for Chinese BBQ, Cantonese Chinese Food, and Dim Sum in the Beacon Hill area. I love supporting our local business in my hood. I usually get the BBQ Char Siew and Dim Sum when I do not want to drive to Chinatown. A hole in the wall small location with a big window displaying all the Chinese BBQ. They have a few tables if you want to dine in but I normally do take out from here. My daughter enjoys staring at the fish tank. The Char Siew is pretty tasty with good flavor and not too fatty. The Dim Sum are simple selection of har gao, siu mai, lotus leaf sticky rice, steam char siew bao, chicken feet, spareribs, rice noodles with standard beef or shrimp, sesame ball, and fried pork ball. Nothing really stand out but the chicken feet are pretty good and fried pork ball was also delicious for the price. I like that the har gao and siu mai are larger size portions. I didn't like the lotus leaf sticky rice, it has hard texture rice with peanuts...yuk. The prices were inexpensive to standard price range and the customer service is slow but it is a family owned business so I let that go because of the convenience factor.
google avatar

Daren D.

Yelp
They have solid good grub. I had a late night craving for something simple, some good simple Chinese take-out. BBQ Pork and Rice - awwwh yeeah! Big portion for value. The gentleman there had poor english skills but good finger-menu-pointing skills. :) It definitely could see better days inside, but I know now that I can get some good grub here.
google avatar

Lu K.

Yelp
Honestly this food was completely inedible. Everything was cold or had clearly been sitting out for a very long time. I watched the woman behind the counter pick her nose and then use that hand to serve us IMMEDIATELY after.
google avatar

Cindy P.

Yelp
This, I admit, is a hole in the wall place.....but the food they put out is AMAZING! Very generous portions and very reasonable prices.

A M.

Yelp
Place is a takeout gym for Chinese food! At least, I love the cashew chicken and get that every time. Haven't tried anything else really. Family owned joint, and I'm sure they need support during the pandemic.
google avatar

Vincent Y.

Yelp
Tasty food, reasonably priced, much better value than Hilltop RED APPLE MARKET'S take out Chinese food. Made to order and BIG PORTIONS. Love this place for fast takeout.
google avatar

Allison D.

Yelp
Mortified to have lived in this neighborhood for so many years without venturing into the Golden Daisy. Granted there is nothing inviting about the grubby exterior with blinds on window obscuring the equally lowbrow interior. But so thankful to Yelpers who showed me the error of overlooking the obvious - live your neighborhood and step outside your comfort zone. Beacon Hill is on a bullet train to gentrification so get to Golden Daisy while you still can. Bring cash and a sense of gratitude for the opportunity for food that is neither precious nor gentrified.
google avatar

madelaine b.

Yelp
Delicious food fast service. Tiny restaurant with a constant stream of customers buying pork or duck. Like most Chinese restaurants in Seattle, the portions are huge, so either be prepared to share or take some home.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
This is a solid hole in the wall spot on beacon Hill, a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. Be warned however, the building may look a bit suspicious but the food is definitely worth it for the price. The service is decent but the food makes it worth.
google avatar

Kat D.

Yelp
Golden Daisy owns our hearts. We drive about 30 minutes just for pickup. The place is pretty small and almost always packed with customers waiting on delicious goodness. We order shumai for almost every occasion from them. Call ahead and order. They are very prompt, when you say you want something for pickup for 330. It will be ready for 330. Just make sure your cash is ready since it's cash only.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Yup, still the best roast duck in Seattle, in my opinion. Tender, juicy, and amazing.
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Great place for cheap eats! Dim sum is delicious! Dim sum is $2 for 4 pieces and the hum bao is $1 for a large and $1 for 3 small ones and they all taste really good. Staff is very friendly as well. They also do roasted ducks and Chinese BBQ pork that's great! I get it to go and normally bring it home because I live close. I recommend this spot to anyone looking for good food on Beacon Hill.
google avatar

Alac W.

Yelp
This place is a great value. Authentic Chinese food for a great price. I have had the chow fun, black bean pork, and honey walnut prawns. All delicious. They also are known for selling full ducks and half ducks. Again a great value, amazing food at a great price. The family that works there is really nice, and always provide prompt and good service.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Great local spot in Beacon Hill a short walk from Beacon Hill station. I dined in on a Sunday around 10. Nothing fancy but food is better when served under fluorescence. Dim sum here is on point and comes out quickly after you order. Highly recommend the shrimp dumplings, shu mai, and pork hum bao. I would definitely come back here.
google avatar

Hunter H.

Yelp
Fantastic service, unbeatable prices, very tasty dim sum. Tried this place with my coworkers who had never had dim sum before and it was a great experience for them. Will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Anita S.

Yelp
Amazing Roast Pork and Roast Duck! Don't let the decor scare you, the food is GOOD! I didn't love the dim sum, there are better places for that... but the roast meats are better here than in China Town. And with free parking around the corner... great place for take out!
google avatar

Estella P.

Yelp
It seems like this place has been here forever. They have good BBQ lunch boxes and cheap dim sum. They have siu mai, har gau, mushroom, shrimp and beef rice rolls, chicken feet, pork spare ribs, gin duey, bok hong tay and malaysia cake for dim sum. Most are priced at $2. The bbq lunch boxes come with stir fried cabbage. Sometimes I just eat a few pieces of the bbq pork or roast pig and just end up eating all the rice and cabbage cause it is just that good. Yummy. I had ordered their chicken and shrimp chow mein and honey walnut shrimp and they were all yummy. The chow mein can get a little too oily sometimes though. I've mainly have gotten my orders to go. I did end up eating inside twice and it is a small old bare bones kinda place. So no ambiance if that is what you are looking for. But they have a fish tank to gaze at. 29/30
